To keep on track today, I am using my food diary and getting my exercise! I also have plenty of fresh veggies & fruit in the fridge.

Try harder--in everything that you do!

Wow they ask you to leave! Our theatres don't check. I guess if you carried a huge load of stuff in then they would ask you to please not bring it in but I usually just take a bottle of water and some trail mix or something crunchy to munch on if I really need it!

I have started breaking up my exercise into smaller sessions instead of one long session to see if this will make it easier to maintain. So far I think it will. I just got a treadmill and Jabulani got his first workout on it this morning :) He is not sure of it yet but he will get used to it and I think will like it eventually!

We are not allowed to take food into out theaters. They ask you to leave if they catch you!

I got up today and wnet to church for Ash Wednesday 7 a.m. service. I stopped and had a healthy breakfast on the way home to start my day well.

Sue that is great! I love popcorn :) If you go to the movies you can take some with you and not pay the hefty prices and have healthier, quality stuff too! emoticon

I made a huge batch of no added salt veggie bean soup and froze individual portions so that I will have them for future meals :) Turned out really yummy emoticon

Today, I got an air popper for popcorn. We don't use the microwave anymore and we had an oil popper. So now I can make healthier popcorn snacks. yippee

I have started new goals for myself. Looked back at what worked and what didn't worked. So now I am drinking 2 glasses of water before I start eating :) I am also stretching 3x/day and meditating.

Today it was all about positive thinking, green smoothies and journals!

I started the sleep challenge and they suggest keeping a sleep journal so I am doing that. I also signed up for Sparks virtual 5k which I am very excited about :)

HI Sue,

That has been one of my new tricks. Before meals I drink 2 glasses of water. This way my tummy is already partially full :) I noticed now I am not minding eating real portions! I am also trying mindful eating and not eating in front of the tv.

Today I started with a walk/jog before I did anything else. I plan on this being my new routine. Exercise first :) Then breakfast... This way no matter what happens I will have some exercise in my day.

Hi Susie

A nap is self-care so it is staying on track!

I got some sugar free gummy bear candies from the local grocery. They pack them so I don't know what brand. But they hit my - I want a chewy sweet candy spot. :-)

I don't tend toward a sweet tooth so I only can take a few at a time anyway - too sweet after that. My BIG prob is carbs like potatoes, pastsa and salty snacks. Them - I can't stop at just a few without having 2 big glasses of water BEFORE I try to eat some. In other words I try to fill some stomach space up so I don't pig out! I try hard not to eat them too frequently and then try to stay with one portion.

I was kind to myself and took a nap. I know this sounds like it isn't staying on track but when you have a chronic illness sometimes you just have to lay down. I like to listen to my body. Anyways, I was going to clean a bit more but decided it will still be there tomorrow so instead I caught up on my articles and took this as my easy day. Jabulani and I snuggled a bunch. He likes when I take some me time.

Sue what kind of candies do you like? Are they low sugar ?

Ate lightly today and bought me some probiotics. My gastro system has been a bit off since I had that bug in early January. Thought I'd give it a boost. Oh and I only had 3 little gummy candies. See, now that I had some, I really don't even mind them sitting here on my desk.

I agree that we should not deprive our selves completely of things :) Sue great work on the bike and only having a few of the candies! the veggie soup sounds good!

Today I am cleaning the house and in between I am getting outside and walking with Jabulani and getting my time in on sparks :)

It is the recumbent bike that they recommended. I am working toward getting back to the gym so I can build up on the elliptical as well. That is the other piece of equipment they say I can use. I have worked hard at strengthing the knee through exercise (when it isn't flared), Reiki, massage and acupressure. I hope to keep my natural knee as long as possible.

As for today I had a huge bowl of homemade veggie soup at a friend's house. When I went to the grocery store I wanted some gummy candy so badly so I bought some sugar free and had a few pieces to remove the craving I have had. I rarely eat them but around this time of year I always want a little. Since I don't believe in deprivation diets, I just picked out a slightly (very slightly) healthier kind. :-)

That is great! Poodle walking is good exercise. Even little April, at 5 lbs can do a mile without stopping, her little legs going so fast they are a blur LOL

yes that does sound good :)

I was going to keep it simple today and just have a nice yoga day but Jabulani got me back outside playing and then we ended up going for our usual walks and bike/runs.

So really if anything keeps me on track he does because I can't think of food if I am on the go :)

I have some samll bowls (1/2 cup) and plates I use to fake my brain out! lol

My start today: I teach a Reiki CLass today so I always try to have a good big breakfast b/c it takes so much energy. I tried something different. I see these stuffed breakfast al the time on TV and thought I'd try something like it in a healthier setting.

I used 2 slices(90 calorie each)whole grain bread to make French toast using egg beaters. I mixed Chobani yogurt with sugar free blueberry preserves together. I put the yogurt mix on top of the French toast after it was cooked and layered the toast. Used one Tbls Smuckers sugar free syrup across top. Yummy breakfast! High protein, fiber, low calories, creamy and sweet. I feel really full and am good to go.

good idea! I'm going to go buy a couple of smaller plates this weekend, something pretty so I'll enjoy looking at it too.

My goal for the next week is not to eat in front of the tv, not to eat out of a bag, like low fat pretzels so I don't eat more than I'm supposed to and to increase my time by ten minutes on the treadmill.

Wow you are really decluttering! I've probably got 30 outfits that are a size 10 in my closet that I loved loved loved and a lot of them still have the tags. I'm donating that too. When I get down to a size ten again, they will be way out of style. I did really good last year at cleaning out a bunch of shoes that in my mind I can wear, but that kill me when I try. I also downsized in my purses last year to. I gave away about 50 and saved the ones I liked, about 25. that's ridiculous to have so many purses and shoes!!! Plus it will leave me room for clothes that are more my size and style LOL

I'm going to one of the close restaurants downtown town where I work and I'll be getting a scoop of chicken salad and a small side salad and then orange pretzel salad for dessert. Lunch on work days usually ends up being my biggest meal of the day. then at night, April and I snack on fruit and raw veggies.

Well done Mary. So far today I have been cleaning out the 'middle' room. Threw away 3 kitchen size bags of stuff. Have two for the Good Will and generally am still in my organizing groove.

I went through my closet in there and anything I haven't worn or used in the past year is outta there even if I 'loved' it. I have to make room for the new me that is emerging! I figure I burned a good number of calories cleaning today.

Now that I am completely recovered from my bug and reinjuring my knee, I plan to get back on the exercise bike today and then back to the gym on Monday! I'd go tomorrow but I am teaching a class.

Now I am going to have a nice bowl of homemade chili loaded with veggies and a griled cheese on whole grain bread. I am hungry enough to eat a horse! LOL

Oh I missed this new thread somehow! Well I did pretty good this morning:

I had a banana and a yogurt for breakfast. I have an apple too but I don't want it right now. I'l full!!!

This weekend I am going to do the same thing, I'm cleaning out clothes that I know I won't wear again. Time to give that to someone who can!

Yesterday: Chose grilled chicken sandwich for lunch - hold the bread and cheese.

Bought some organizing boxes for my closet. I am still on my declutter/downshize mission. I really belive the chaos of too much stuff in this little house keeps the stress levels high and then I eat to sooth the stress. :-) So I have a goal to spend 30 minutes per day on decluttering and/or organizing.

Hi all. I was wondering if we want to use this thread to say what one thing or things we did today to stay on track toward our goals. It can be as simple as (1) exercised - 10 minutes oe (2) passed on the donut or (3) read something inspiring or (4) walked with my poodle pal (5) whatever you think you did POSITVELY to keep you going, etc.

Your post can be as short or laong as it needs to be. And I bet we learn new things from each other in the process.
