I would think canned salmon would be good too. But I would change the eggs to just the yolks. It is my understanding that whites aren't good for dogs. Either way, Maggie would love any of it. hahhahahaha

Thanks for the recipe, Deb. It has lots of Tara's favorite foods. But I try to feed her mostly kibble to help clean her teeth, with slight add-ins. BTW, some fats are good for poodle fur, though admittedly too much of any good thing can cause digestive upset in most dogs.

thanks for the recipe...if i were to try the recipe i think i'd just leave out the tuna...can't even stand to open a can without gagging (i can't stand the smell or the taste!). you're a sweetie!

I don't think I would use the tuna with oil, maybe with water. Not sure if Ginger would eat it, as she doesn't really care for tuna.

Wow! Mighty Joe would snarf that right down...mainly due to the cheese. Cheese sends him into food orbit, and rates almost as high as chicken.

But alas, he is on prescription food. But I will copy & paste this and share it with his breeder. She DOES make her own food for all her poodles (she has 8 or 9 of them!).

This recipe taken from Dog Food SECRETS – www.tinyurl.com/terrier-tuna
Terrier Tuna, Egg & Cheese Supreme
Ingredients Calories
1 can flaked tuna in oil, undrained 339
2 eggs 148
1 c. whole meal breadcrumbs 480
1/4 c. grated cheese 75
TOTAL 1042
Instructions
1) Scramble eggs over low heat.
2) Add tuna in oil and breadcrumbs and stir together.
3) Melt cheese over mixture.
4) Serve cooled.
