Hi silver!

In so sorry about your leg! Mommy got me some little pet stairs so I wouldn't hurt myself getting up and down on the furniture. She just used a treat to show me how to go up and down one time and it was in my mind then. Of course it was! I'm a poodle! I'll be saying poodle prayers that you leg doesn't hurt you too much.

I guess our other friends are snowed in because I haven't heard from then. Anyway I better get into the kitchen cause I hear mommy in there and that means FOOD!

Poodle kisses
April

P.S. tell your mommy the pet stairs are at freds store

Hello to my little friends, Some bad news, I have been hobbling around our place for the last couple of months. My vet told me that I have torn my back leg ligament on my left leg. I went jumping around outside and hurt it one afternoon.Since I'm 13 years old this year the vet said they usually only give an operation to repair it if I was under 5 years old. They said Ligaments don't grow back. Not much that they can do, It doesn't keep me from running around, I just hold my little leg up. The doctor said I might grow bone cart ledge on the side of my knee joint. You guys have fun playing ball. I sure wish that I could, but for now I must just lay around and take things easy. I even have a hard time getting on the couch and chairs. Mom says she hopes it will get better real soon.

Sure hope you will have some warm spring weather soon, we all miss not going to the park and smelling the lovely green grass and flowers. Silver

Hi, April and LingLing. My human says I can be a stormpoodle today, but I just wanna stay inside and cuddle. It started snowing yesterday, and it's still snowing. My human shoveled a long path yesterday for us to do our numbers. Frost went all the way to the end and marked. I marked near the fire hydrant. Frost wanted to go out into our backyard until our human opened the door and he saw snow there too. She shoveled the back steps but still he didn't want to go down. Me neither.

Last night we didn't get anywhere near the hydrant. Lots more snow. My human just shoveled from our porch to the front of our car. Only my tail was nigher than the snow. I got the message, and so did Frost. This morning she shoveled around the side of the car as we watched from the window. When she let us outside, we thought we could go out for breakfast, but she was just getting something out of the car, so we hurried back inside. Dad gave us our breakfast inside.

Our street hasn't been plowed yet, but we can see the plows on the big street nearby, and one street over. An Arlington officer lives by that street and he might need to get to work. Our next door neighbor works for Alexandria and he had to work all night. My human says we can just pray that the power doesn't go out, so we can stay cozy. Looks like she'll be doing lots of shoveling.

Me, I agree with you and your mommy April that we're ready for spring. We even saw some daffydil buds last week!

Wags,

Tara.

Hi LingLing! Wag wag wag!

Mommy says she is ready for spring and I am too!

Things are breaking here too! Mommy's car is in the shop and it's going to cost 962.00! Mommy gave them 400.00 and when she gets her check on the 3rd, she will have to give them 562.00! Wow that's all the money she will have till March 3rd! She is very mad at that car!

Mommy knows nice people at her church too! She works part time for a nice couple that owns an insurance company. He is picking her up and taking her home from work too. AND he let's me go to work with her!

Another lady that mommy used to babysit for is a personal trainer and she works with mommy at the gym, whatever that is. Mommy had a Leslie Sansone low impact Cardo tape she does here at the house too. Me? I just watch!

Well gotta go do My numbers!

Poodle kisses

Hi ya, April, Tara & any new friends I may not have met yet,

Sheesh it sure is Not hot now, we did not get out of the 20's all day! Well, the man on T.V. said it went all the way to 30! But that was in a place called Memphis, where ever that is. Mommy said that we are higher so we are colder by a few degrees.29-3O I don't care, it's cold!! Last night it got into the teens & tonight it's supposed to get lower. In fact, Mom said it's supposed to be bitter cold into next week, but mommy and I stay nice and toasty, we snuggle real close, and she turns her E-blanket on. Snuggling is so fun!
A few months ago we thought that we could get a new Wi-Fi for mommy's computer and that would be that, No such luck.when the man on the other side of the phone tried to restart it - it was a no go. He said that we would have to buy a restart disc from Dell, he did not know how much it would be. Uhh oh ! I don't like the sound of that ! Anyway mom is going to call about it next month. What's next ?
Mom's T.V. blew out last Sunday afternoon Melissa Free, a nice lady at church had already said that she had one to give us, so when ours went out mom called her. This Sunday the nice lady found a nice younger man who owned a 28 inch color set that was already at the church. He gave it to us. The nice people who bring mommy to church every week loaded it into their truck and brought it and mommy home .
Another friend came today and hooked it up. Mommy sure does know a lot of nice people! And our new TV has a beautiful picture.
Well, stay warm, it's going to be a C-C--C
OOO-d night. & Tara, I'm sure it will be even colder there so please stay warm & take care.

love, hugs, & kisses,
LingLing

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!

We have been just hanging out. Taking walks around the neighborhood. good sniffs though. Mommy's car has to have a water pump and a starter (whatever those are) and it's going to cost 960.00. Mommy is really upset about that. Mommy says this car is a lemon, but I licked it and it didn't taste like a lemon to me. Anyway the car is in the shop so we are grounded.

I hope ya'll stay warm up there where you are!

Hi, pup pals. We have a powee failure tonight, which is a little scary and boring too. I hate the beeping downstairs. My human says its the battery backup. She tried to sneak out, but we sneaked too, so she took us to Shirlington, and we saw the library close, so we took a walk in the wind and a little snow too. I had my pink shirt on so i didnt get wet, and Frost barked that the weather was fun. He almost got a laptime out for forgetting his manners like on Sunday when he lunged at a youngpup named Barbie, a white maltipoo just 5 months old. Elvis was with us and tried to tell her that was just bichonboy being silly, but she took a while to come out from behind her human even during Frosts laptime out. Now my human says her phone needs charging in the car, so gotta go.

Wags,

Tara

Hi LingLing & Tara!

Yep that rain was really awful! Mommy put on my rain coat and also held an umbrella over me. She called me a prissy pants, but I didn't have any pants on! We were lucky that we didn't get flooded in our part of Alabama too much. some road closings.

The bad thing was that it rained so bad on Christmas day, that we didn't get to go down and see the family! which means I didn't get any good bites!

We are also staying home tonight and watch some ball go down. when it hits the ground, I plan to try and get it and run with it!

Happy New Year to you all! I hope 2016 brings us lots of tasty bites and good sniffs and Poodle adventures!!!

Love,
April

Hi, April and Ling LIng. I'm hoping you're both OK, cuz me and Frost saw on TV about the nasty storms and floods some poodles and people had for Christmas and the last couple of days. Very scary. After the TV stories about the nasty rains in Alabama and Mississippi, we were relieved to see LingLing's human posted on the wall here, tho our human doesn't do that, and well, you can imagine what Frost does to walls!. Then TV stories showed Texas tornado damage, and Kentucky horses not wanting to leave their little island hill though humans said the flood was coming, but then they finally listened, which was OK. Still, lots worse than our wet weather.

Anyhow, before Christmas we went to a Living Nativity, but I didn't want to get out of the car cuz of the rain. Frost looked at the goats and sheep and cow and wanted to bark, so he got a laptime out. Some kids petted him instead of those animals, which he didn't mind at all. On Christmas day we met two poodles at Shirlington, Max and Leia. Frost was even polite. Not so yesterday with a golden doodle, so he got another laptime out. We've also had a couple trips to Petsmart, but mostly I go out and take care of business quickly and return to our porch or inside. Frost tells dad he wants to go out into the backyard even in the misty weather, which I think is silly. On Saturday we got a little wet even under the awnings at Shirlington cuz the drainpipe there had a leak and was shooting water out. Not that we got shivery. It was warm til yesterday, so warm that Frost's pal Mocha got shaved. Now she'll have to wear clothes or stay insides til her fur grows back.

Otherwise, we've had a couple of walks when it dried up a little, and our human planted some bulbs and pansies in her garden after she took out the tomatoes. Me, I'd rather stay inside in this emoticon weather, especially since we have a couple of yummy ham bones to enjoy... emoticon

Now, we've gotta take care of important pup business and get dad to the car for breakfast.

Tara.

Hi Poodles, Doodles, Kitties & Peeps!!! Wag wag wag!!

We have a silver Christmas tree with different sized red balls and some pretty lights on it! Mommy turns it on at night.

Yes LingLing, it's very warm here too! it was 61 when we got up this morning, and it's going up to 70. it's going to be 75 on Christmas! Whoa, that is weird! I've only gotten to wear my Christmas dresses once! It's too warm to wear them.

Mommy has been taking me on some good sniffy walks. It has been raining but luckily it stops long enough for some outside time.

I hope everyone has a great holiday!

Love, April

Hi, LingLing. Soooo good to hear from you. Your house sounds real cozy, and I'm glad you and your human are doing good.

The weather's crazy warm here too. It got wet a couple of days ago, then cooler and the tv weather guys say it'll be warm again for Christmas. So Frost and me haven't been wearing our fancy clothes, which is OK by me. My human was happy that her big tomato plant didn't freeze so she and dad are still getting tiny tomatoes, which me and Frost know isn't proper pup food.

The only problem with the warm weather was that a tick came and stuck right on the tippee top of my head, which of course I couldn't reach to get off. Then my human couldn't find her tick remover key so we had to go to the store for a new one and instructions. I thought it was gonna be worse than matsie trimming, but she got the bugger off and checked that its nasty mouth was still whole before stomping it dead on the sidewalk. I didn't mind at all.

Anyway, my human's been real busy, so no history schmistory trip to Richmond like she wanted last Sunday. She had to change phones and ISPs again cuz she said the nasty robocallers were messing with both. I even heard her cussing some insurance company callcenter for not acknowledging her faxes about dad (who seems OK to us), tho we didn't mind cuz we got to go to Petsmart (which has really interesting sniffs) after she got out of Staples (which doesn't let us in).

Frost doesn't like the penguin our human put in the back yard so she could see at night, and the people in the park and the sidewalk and side street could see our Holiday Cheer. Frost barked Bah Humbug at it until our human turned it off. He won't go near it, even when it's not lit, so go figure. He doesn't mind the tree lights, not in our backyard or our neighbors or Shirlington. He didn't even try to leave pmail on them. He says that's cuz everybody can see they're just lights, and the penguin looks like an animal that needs to be barked at. Me, I didn't mind being able to see in the backyard since its so dark so long. At least I could tell it wasn't an animal. Now we have the trees which sparkle and are just fine. No snow suits me just fine too.

Anyhow, here's wishing Holiday Cheer to you and April and all our pals, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wags,

Tara.

Hi April and Tara and all my other pup
friends,

I just woke up and I monopolized mommy's lap while we read Your Post.
Your history schmistery (that's a bugger to spell) trip sounds very interesting, wish I had been along.
The weather here has been beautiful! If you did not know better you would think that it were april. Mother nature must be very confused. After the cold front passes we are expected to have temperatures running between 55 + 60 Plus for for Christmas week. this weather is crazy! Anyway I do want to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Santa already brought me my gift last October. He brought me my own house. He brought it so early because mommy need you to bring me to the doctor in it.
The doctor said that I was in very good health and she was very pleased with my weight, she told mom that it has not changed in 3.years.I hope that Santa will be very good to you to! Mommy bought a 3pound turkey breast, and some stove top dressing & we're having some garlicky green beans, yummyπŸ˜‹!!! emoticon

Hi, April! I hope you and our pup and kitty friends had a yummy Thanksgiving. Me and Elvis had poodelicious turkey nibbles and Frost said his nibbles were bichontastic!

The weather has been poodelicious too these last few days, but by the time we got to the dog park yesterday afternoon, almost all the dogs were gone, or maybe the small dogs were waiting at their houses for turkey. In the morning, we got admirers at church, but were a little miffed that our human was planting some of the flowers she got in Richmond yesterday rather than take us to the dog park. Plus she said Ikea was closed so dad had his breakfast at home. The weirdest thing was that she picked some flowers too and put them in the fancy dinner salad. Of course all pups know salads aren't real food, but eating pansies? Definitely weird.

Anyhow, the day before Thanksgiving, we picked up Elvis and had a history schmistory trip. We got to Richmond a little later than my human wanted, I think, cuz of an accident and backup on I-95. We said poodle prayers when we saw an ambulance leave ahead of us. Then we got to the Capitol Square and found lots of admirers. Some kids asked if we were the Governor's dogs, but my human said no, then allowed the polite kids to pet us nicely. Then we walked to the Governor's house but didn't go inside the gate cuz the police said the governor's dogs were inside, tho we didn't see them so we don't know if they are poodles or big dogs or what. We did see some men carrying out a dead deer and put it into the government pickup truck. Frost barked, either at the men or the dead deer. I'm not sure, cuz me and Elvis saw some real Indians (we're supposed to calll them Native Americans I think), who admired us too. Turns out that on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving every year for a long long time, Virginia Indians come to Richmond and give the Governor gifts, like the deer. We were too late to see the dancing or hear the speeches, just did what you call our numbers and let our human pick the poop up and put it in the trash can

Then after my human made some more stops and her pickups (like the flowers), we drove on the history schmistory part, which my human said avoided some nasty traffic. We enjoyed the sunshine. At first, I thought Elvis wasn't gonna like the history schmistory part cuz he started fussing in Spotsylvania by the Court House. So we stopped, but he wasn't sick or nothing, just knew someplace important I guess. So we let our human take pictures of some old jail and also a sign that said lots of soldiers died bravely there, and got back into our car. The next stop was woodsy and had lots of signs, which I thought kinda boring, but Frost and Elvis loved the smells. Turns out my human was looking for a real old house, but her phone got the place wrong, so she stopped at Burger King to ask directions. We didn't mind, cuz of course we got more admirers, plus licks of froyo!

Then she drove the other way from what the phone said, and we found a sign about how the Marquis de Lafayette and lots of Revolutionary War soldiers camped there, and a graveyard with lots of good smells. My human thought she saw the right house through the trees, but didn't want to jump over fences or anything, so we got back into the car, and found another sign and a parking lot. We walked up the road closed to cars, all the way to the house. No people were around, but we heard some motor from one building, and our human looked at the signs. Frost and Elvis said the grass was perfect for zooming, so while my human took pictures, they zoomed lots, round and round, especially by another cemetery with just one big stone. No, we didn't go inside that fence to leave pmail, but my human liked the view. She said that stone marked the grave for Stonewall Jackson's arm, which was kinda weird,. She said she had wanted to check if there were markers for other people there, like a lady who wanted to free 93 slaves, but the court decided only one man could go free, which lots of people thought not fair. All I know is that there were no other gravestones, not for that lady, nor her daughter, nor the other lady and man who insisted the people had to stay slaves, until President Lincoln said no, which was a little bit of what that nasty war had been about. Turns out the house had also been owned by a law professor and his family for a long time. On our way back to the car, we saw a deer, who jumped away into the woods even though Frost didn't bark at it or nothing.

Well, we were a long way from home, and as we drove to Fredericksburg, my human told us that lots of battles had been fought all around in the Civil War, or what some people around here call the War between the States. Lots and lots of soldiers died. One sign said that the trench warfare battles in 1863 or 1864 (I don't remember which) alone in the Wilderness and Spotsylvania or Chancellorsville killed more men than Gettysburg in Pennsylvania or Antietem in Maryland, which were also very sad places and the signs called them halllowed ground. We'll have to come back on some other day to hike and drive the battlefield trail. We saw a really big orange moon rise as the sun set and we drove back,to Fredericksburg. Our human said some humans call it the mourning moon. That means sadness, like after someone dies, but our radio wasn't playing sad music. Then after dad got hot dog nibbles for us at Costco. traffic was still bad

Our human took one more break, to wait for the traffic to clear she said. This was at the old church we visited Sunday, where me and Frost got lots of admirers. Lots of cars were parked in the lot, and my human said she wanted to give thanks for the Good Samaritan who found her laptop in the Fredericksburg library, an other stuff. We pups couldn't go inside of course, and dad didn't want to, so Elvis cuddled on his lap and we waited and listened to the music, which wasn't sad either. When our human came outside with the other humans, she asked if we had seen any ghosts, cuz some people say the graveyard is haunted. Nope. We thought it OK, but after the tiring walk and zoom, we just wanted to get home, so we did, though Frost barked at something or someone just as we left.

Well, that's it for now.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April. Our human ate at Applebee's too!And we're so looking forward to Thanksgiving, or even a couple of days before, when Elvis visits.Actually, Elvis visited for a couple of days a couple of weeks ago, but we didn't do lots of stuff cuz our human was busy, just a couple of walks at Shirlington and cuddles and nibbles. Tomorrow's supposed to be a wet fur day, but today was supposed to be one tooo, and it turned out to be perfect poodle weather. Frost even made friends with a pit bull named Callie at the dog park, but I didn't want her to sniff my butt.

Our human says the weather's supposed tp get good again by next Tuesday, which is when Elvis is coming, cuz his humans are traveling way far away. She says maybe on the weekend we can drive to Fredericksburg so me and Frost can show Elvis all the good smells and nice folks. I just hope she gets her phone fixed. When I got your post this morning, I tried to reply but twice got page not available after signing in. Fersure.

Now, I gotta get some sleep. I had just settled in a couple of hours ago, when my human went downstairs. Frost followed her, but I didn't, thinking she'd be back upstairs quick. Well, she left the house without me, with just Frost, and was gone over an hour. Boy, was I upset, ad I let them know it when they got back. I only felt canine again when she gave us our chickie treats. Fersure, I'm not letting her sneak out again tonight.

Wags,

Jane.

Hi, April, Ling Ling and all my quiet poodle pals (hint , hint)!

The weather today is a little windy but Frost and me are in full fur, so we don't mind. Our human changed jackets, though, so we might not be able to relax on her comfy old leather jacket for a while.

Anyhow, the weather was poodelicious on Veterans Day. We had a history schmistory walk after dad got his hair cut as a Veterans special. He was in the Navy, but we learned a little about Army stuff on our walks in Falmouth, which is across the Rappahannock river from Fredericksburg and very important in the Civil War. When we walked around Chatham, which has the way high parking lot, we even saw two cannons pointed at Fredericksburg way below us. After Frost had a nice roll in the grass, we learned the big ole house was a hospital in the Civil War, and the lawn even a cemetery for some of the soldiers, until they were reburied in the cemetery we visited last year in Fredericksburg. Most of the time, though it was a farm, and it's now a museum and park.

I could feel some of the sadness still. My human said famous humans like Clara Barton and Walt Whitman were nurses in the big house, and Dr. Mary Walker, who was the first and only lady to get the Medal of Honor worked at that hospital cutting off soldiers arms and legs and stuff, which I thought was really scary and very sad. But we also met some nice admirers. Two ladies even wanted to take our pictures, so that was OK.

Later, our human stopped in a parking lot by the river to look at a historical marker with Frost, which turned out to be about a guy who lived across the street and took some former slaves to Ohio to keep them safe in that nasty war. Well, a police car stopped to give someone a ticket, so I decided another walk would be OK. We saw two small dogs wearing jackets walk toward us with their humans, but Frost barked at them. Then their humans said they weren't friendly, so our human walked instead to a lady resting with her bike. She said I reminded her of her dog who died a long time ago, so I let her pet me and laid down next to her while my human and her talked. Then the ticket thing finished, so we got back into the car and drove to a restaurant where dad got some great smelling food take out (that we're supposed to sample tonight!) and we walked around outside and let some kids pet us a little bit.

Anyhow, dad got his hair cut in Stafford, and also got our car's oil changed as a Veterans Day Special, which we didn't think anywhere near as fun as the food specials and nibbles. Plus we didn't want our fur cut too! Although now we have a white Standard Poodle in the neighborhood named Eddie who has a pretty fancy haircut that Frost barks at. We also walked to Lowes so our human could look at and buy plants, and our human said she saw a pink prancing poodle in a Christmas light display inside. We didn't go inside, so I'm not really sure, and it's probably a good thing that Frost didn't leave pmail on it!

Phew! That dog running into your human's car certainly didn't have Poodle Smarts, April. We saw a terrier pup like that last month in the Italian market. He came running past us into the street in the Italian Market, so my human yelled "STOP" real loud. We stopped, and the cars too, but not the little dog with fur colored like mine but kinda spikey. Lots of humans were running after him. He even ran into Washington Street, which is really big, so lots of humans were yelling. Then maybe thought a little bit, or heard the guy he wanted to hear, or maybe our Poodle Prayers worked. He ran back toward us. We were so glad to see the boypup (of course) jump into the arms of a human guy-- all safe! The man told our human the pup's name was Scruffy.

We hadn't met him before on our walks, and we didn't see him either on our last trip to Philadelphia. Then we barked at J.J. through his door, and Rosie from our car. On a walk in our park we met a nice silver poodle named Benjamin and his maltipoo pal who wanted to say hi, but a little girl wanted to ride with him on her tricycle, so he couldn't. I hope Scruffy is still safe. And the maltipoo too, cuz our human talked to his human about putting him in a harness like Frost so the little kids can't pull his collar against his neck.

Well, that's it for now. Gotta convince our human to walk a bit more.

Tara.

Hi Tara & LingLing! Wag Wag Wag!!!

Yesterday was Veteran's day so Mommy got a lot of thanks for her service. She was in the Army.

It is such Poodlicious weather today! Sunny for a change. It rained for about two weeks here and Mommy said she was getting cabin fever whatever that is. I hope I do't catch it!!

No Poodle adventures lately, but I have been going for walks. Oh Oh Oh! Mommy was going real slowly through our apartment complex and a boston terrier doggie ran under Mommy's car!!! Mommy got out and looked for the dog, but couldn't find it. A woman came out and said it was her dog and Mommy asked her why it was out and the woman told Mommy that she had just let her out for a minute cause she was going to take her trash out. Mommy was so upset and told that woman that if she can't take her doggie out herself on a leash, she probably needs to give it away, if it lives! We came back later and the doggie had come home and it only had a small scrape. Mommy was so glad!! She told the woman if she loves her pup she will take her out on a leash!

Whew!

Love,
April

Hi Tara! Wag Wag!

It is Poodlicious weather here today so I guess my rain went up to ya'll's house. sorry about that. Mommy sneaked out on my yesterday too. BUT I loved the way she did it. she gave me a spoonful of cottage cheese. It was nummy to my tummy!!!

I got to go for a walk today since it was so nice. After I did my numbers, we walked around so I could visit with people that were sitting on their porches or sweeping leaves.

Well, we are at Mommy's work. the nice man Mommy works for lets her bring me with her. I like it there. I have a small kids chair that I curl up in and snooze!!

Hi, April! So glad to hear from you, and sorry to write so late. Sorry too to see one of your posts got mostly erased. That happened to me once too.

Anyway, it's wet here, so I think today's gonna have lots of laptime, I hope with cuddles. Yesterday, me and Frost mostly watched from the couch as our humans were fixing something on top of the porch. OK, we got out a teensy bit to say hi to our tzu pal Mocha. I would've liked a nice walk in the overcast but poodelicious weather, but our human sneaked out without us a couple of times too. At least yesterday she was mostly home, unlike the day before when she left after a teensy breakfast walk and didn't come back til late. Plus the Ravens lost again, so the chicken she brought back for dad (and that he shared of course) didn't taste quite so good...

Now it's fall and Frost is having some problems with burrs in his tail. Twice he's gotten big ole clumps, which he can't get out, and hates having our humans pull out. Me, I'm not gonna groom him like his mama, who should've taught him these basics I think. Plus, I protect myself by just staying in the car when we drive up to that park, so our human takes us to Shirlington afterward or later, which is much funner. We even met another nice tzu named Gizmo.

That's it for now. Hope you're feeling better with the cooler weather. It seems LingLing had to sign up for Sparks again so maybe we'll be hearing from him soon...

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April! So glad to hear from you! Today the weather's poodelicious! Yesterday me and Frost went to the dog park and met a nice pup named Gomez, and did a couple of zooms. He's an Alaskan spitz or something and has fur kinda colored like mine, but straight and lots of it. His human talked a little bit with our human about the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens and exciting football games that they lost. Well, zooming is more fun, and Gomez was in full fur with an Eagles bandana collar so we really couldn't tell that he had been shaved for the summer, just stopped for drinks when we got too hot.

We had some scary storms overnight, which cuddling made better. The news says the Carolinas had bad flooding, but not here, which is good. And I didn't hear about really bad weather in Alabama neither.

Right now I think our human is a little worried. Not cuz we had a short walk in D.C. in the morning and got admirers, nor the old Maryland churchyard walk after her Costco stop with dad, but because a human came into our car in our driveway just after we got home. She went inside with the groceries she just bought and to heat some chili in the microwave for dad, and he followed her slowly, of course. He left us in the car cuz he doesn't want to trip over Frost, and we don't mind. Usually Frost jumps to look out the window while I just chill. When she came right out to take us inside, Frost didn't have his collar nor harness on, so she put on his collar and looked around as I jumped out. No one else was outside, just a white van in the new neighbors' driveway. Of course, we can't tell her who did it, and she's worried its another threat from the same nasty Palatine people who hurt me by pulling out so many teeth, or the nasty Richmond officer who said he wanted to take us away from her. Maybe she's just worried about the computer error message that started Wednesday night after an AMD update, though she only seemed annoyed Thursday when she tried reporting it to Microsoft and it wouldn't accept her question.

Anyhow, I'm just glad her sniffles from Friday and yesterday seem better, though Frost wanted to tear up more kleenexes. I think cuddles are a better idea, but we're willing to just rest together on our bed and watch her do computer stuff if that's what she wants.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, Silver. Glad to hear from you, and to hear about your pup pal Annie. It's a wet fur day here, and kinda cool. Yesterday, we went for a walk in the mist and heard that today's pet blessing day. So I think we're gonna go somewhere and hear about St. Francis, and meet some fun pups, and maybe kitties and birdies and stuff. Last year Frost got a laptime out for sniffing the birdies til they or their human freaked out. I don't remember who thought he was a problem cuz he wasn't even barking or nothing. Me, I like the admirers, but too many big pups that wanna sniff my butt--well I don't mind going but might need some protective laptime or cuddles.

Wags,

Tara

P.S. (that means oops) Sorry I didn't mention you too April. We went to the pet blessing and said poodle prayers for you too. Actually we went to two places cuz my human said the socialization was good for us and we got stuck in traffic and she couldn't find a book she wanted. We didn't mind, cuz we had admirers, and my human's leg was a lot warmer than sitting on the stones waiting for the blessing so the shar pei and other pups didn't sniff my butt. We did meet some nice pups too, and the new doxie from down the street, Susie, came too. No birdies and very few kitties came, Ling Ling, probably because of the cool weather, or maybe because the Redskins were playing. We were so glad the Ravens won on Thursday. So more wags and poodle prayers.....

Hi Everyone,

I'm having one of my mom's friend's Jack Dempsey little girl named Annie over for a few weeks, since she left for a trip I am told. I am getting along pretty good, She loves to play with me and my mom says the is a pretty good girl. I am a little jealous, but I sure love mom when she gives us little treat bones in the morning. I think I will be happy when little Annie goes back to her own home though. Then she will be really happy again. She doesn't seem to miss her family very much, but I know that she does. I like her home, and I sometime go there when my mom and dad have to go somewhere for a few days.. Annie's mom loves and takes care of me. Love to you and I hope all my little puppy friends are doing good, lick lick, Silver

I told my girls Goodnight one night, and all but one was gone by the next morning !

Hi Tara! Wag Wag!!!

Thanks for the Poodle Prayers! I'm sure they will work, because they are very powerful!!

Wow ya'll get to go to some cool places. We finally got moved on Memorial Day. Mommy is really tired but not me!!! Mommy held me almost the entire time!!!

Yeah that extra cheese is nummy to my tummy for sure. I heard Mommy talking to someone and she said she was going to make chicken and dumplings!!! Drool! (pawdon me) those things are sooooo good! I hope she does!.

Here in Alabama if you leave your dogs in the car with the windows up, even if they have water, you go to jail!! Whoa that is a scary thought!! AND they take your furbabies away and you aren't allowed to have them ever again. I would cry my Poodly eyes out and Mommy would too!

Well I have to go pee. those pills make me pee all the time. Mommy has learned to give me the lasix (whatever that is) earlier in the day.

Poodle Kisses

April

Hi, April. So good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you're a little sick, plus had to move again. We've been saying poodle prayers for you and your heart. Your cheese balls sound nummy.

Me and Frost just got back from Illinois, where it was way hot. Come to think of it, it's way hot here in Virginia too.

Plus, me and Frost might not be able to go to Richmond any more. We were in our car napping nicely in the underground garage when our human came down from the library with a bike cop who was sweating a lot. He said he wanted to take us away from her and put us in jail, which sounded way crazy, especially since he didn't want to look at us inside the car or our full water bowl, and kept telling her we had driven in at noon, when her parking ticket said 1:30. Since his uniform said Capitol Police we worried we were in trouble for doing our business near the capitol before driving in, even though our human did her pooper scooper thing, and we had several admirers, including a vet in a scooter. But the bike cop without a bike said our human was cruel for keeping our windows closed, like she always does in mosquito places.

OK, we managed to leave and the next night we did a car camping thing in Kickapoo Park, which had mosquitoes but no police, just froggies and cicadas and two other car campers. Then we drove to the showers place and saw lots of RVs -- and Frost barked at the other dogs, of course. I thought the moon was pretty too, like the people in Richmond who have always been nice to us before that bike cop. Kinda a bummer, if you ask us, but then they didn't.... And our human did get up twice to do the A/C thing when we needed it in Illinois...

Anyhow, we did a few little history schmistory walks about Abraham Lincoln places in Illinois, which are pretty in a different way than the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, with all the Japanese Cherry Trees and admirers in the spring. We visited Danville, where Lincoln argued lots of cases as an Illinois lawyer, and he and Stephen Douglas gave political speeches under some maple trees a long time ago before he was elected and went to Washington.

Then in Springfield we visited the street Lincoln used to live on. We thought the wooden sidewalk was neat. Though it had lotsa cracks, our paws didn't fall through or nothing and it was much cooler than the normal sidewalk that we walked on from the parking garage. Of course, we knew to walk in the shade as much as possible too. All the tourists and the park service guides said we looked real cute, even the one guide Frost barked at. We learned that Lincoln had a dog named Fido who had to stay in Springfield when they moved to Washington, D.C., and that his family also liked horses and cats.

Then we went to the cemetery where almost the whole Lincoln family is buried, along with lots of others. I could see the big memorial thing, but didn't want to leave our car's A/C. Frost, however, guarded our human as she paid her respects. He said the grass wasn't as nice as at the Danville maple place, where he had a few good rolls. Then we drove by the big military cemetery. We wanted to pay our respects like at Arlington Cemetery (and of course do our marking outside beforehand), but the sign said no pets allowed, so we couldn't. Another sign outside said there were lots of Confederate graves too, with pointy tombstones so their ghosts couldn't hang out. But we couldn't see them, just a regular funeral line of cars going in, and yet another sign saying watering was allowed despite the drought that turned much of the corn all brown already.

Then we continued through pretty bad traffic to Glenview. Mostly, we had to wait inside with the fans while our human weedwhacked outside. She said it was just too hot for us to wait in the car, though we wanted to, and told her she could just run the A/C nice. Nope. OK, we did a couple potty runs, after our human warned us about the burrs. Unfortunately, we found out she was right, so we went back inside and didn't chase the froggies or nothing, just were glad to get out of there. We liked the licks of milkshake on the trip much better.

Finally, we were so glad to get back home to dad and frozen chickie and other yummies. But IMHO our human is spending too much time watering her garden, which she says is way too thirsty cuz of the heat and the storms that keep getting promised but don't come. Well, I don't miss the thunder and lightning!

We know fall will come eventually, so we're gonna get psyched for the Ravens game Sunday....

Wags,

Tara.

Hey Ya'll Wag Wag Wag!!

I haven't been here much cause I am a little sick. Mommy says I have congenital heart failure, but as you can see, my heart hasn't failed! I do have to take pills every day. Mommy doesn't know that I know but I get four cheese balls every day, and she sneaks a half a pill in each one. But they are tiny tiny so I don't care. I love cheese! It's nummy to my tummy!

Anyway, we are moving to a smaller apartment that doesn't have stairs and an extra bedroom that we don't use. Mommy's Grandson moved out and now Mommy says we need an apt with just one bedroom. Oh and I haven't seen it yet but there is a tree out in front so it is really nice and shady on our porch!

Well I guess I would like for ya'll to say a few Poodle prayers for me if you can. I don't want my heart to fall out!! I'm pretty sure I need it!!

Love
April

Hi, LingLing! Glad to hear from you. I'm resting a little cuz Elvis just went home. We went on a little history schmistory walk in Alexandria before dropping him off. The cemetery marker where we started said founded 1796, which is way old, but we only saw one gravestone at first. Elvis agreed with me and Frost that the grass was really nice, and that we didn't like the construction at the corner. We were respectful too, not going in the parts that said no dogs. Frost didn't bark at the far-away dogs like he does at home.

Maybe he calmed down a teensy bit after the doggie vendor fair at Shirlington Saturday. Lots and lots of dogs. We sniffed butt mostly nicely. and stayed out of the worst crowds, as well as the places that said "vet" or "obedience training." Frost eventually quieted down too, and didn't get a laptime out. We thought maybe we'd see the apricot poodle (small standard?) named Lincoln that we met last week, but it was too darn crowded, IMHO, tho we liked the music and compliments.

After supper we were going to teach Elvis to cheer for the Ravens, but they played really badly, so we went for a walk. I just wanna say it wasn't our fault. Last week, we found a dead crow or raven by the Confederate General's railroad track but didn't roll in it or nothing, and the Ravens did good on TV. Saturday morning Elvis found a dried-up mouse in the park and Frost rolled in it while our human laughed, but that wasn't a raven, no way. Maybe it's cuz my human didn't take her Ravens stuff out of the attic? Or we should just think of our poodle friends in Philadelphia cheering...

Anyhow, yesterday after my human stopped messing with her computer problems, we went out into our park and met a neighborhood barkpuppy who turned out not to be a doodle like my human thought but a morkie (maltese-yorkie mix). He gave Frost bark-for-bark before and after our polite sniffs.

That's all the news from Arlington,

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April and newpup. I'm sorry I don't know your name. But you look like a pretty Poodle and I know you're friendly. Me and Frost are staying inside today cuz it's hot outside. Last Thursday we had maybe a little too much of a poodle adventure.

My human had to go to Philadelphia last weekend. Traffic was horrible, so we stopped by the park with the Confederate General's house that we visited in February. No snow now. Hahaha. But lots of poison ivy on the trail, so my human said we could cross to the good road on the other side on a big old black walnut tree that fell across the millrace. I didn't think that was a great idea, cuz the water looked scummy green. But she put us on top and then climbed up herself and scooted across on her butt. That did look funny. She kept lifting Frost ahead of her and I had to follow behind. Just before the end, I decided to hop down, and I landed in scum. Ugh. At least I kept my tail up and got to the other side. But my paws were all stinky muddy. The dirt road on the other side was easy, I'll admit. But when we got to the old mill, she wanted to take both our pictures by the big ole wheel. I gave her a piece of my mind when she tied us to the fence and backed up. She did wipe me off in the car, and I wiped my paws more on the pants she got for dad in Aberdeen cuz he doesn't like clothes shopping.

Well, then we went to Petco cuz she couldn't find our food under the seat. And three different people said how I needed a BATH. No way. I dried off and let her brush me real good. No one in Philly said I needed a bath, though JJ just barked friendly from his door. Still, I'm a teensy bit worried. I am not a water dog!

Wags,

Tara.

There were actually two! An older one who always hides and won't even let me approach her and a 4-month-old male who is fearless--even though I'm probably twice his weight. He was always charging at me and batting me with his front paws or biting at me. I would run from him, but then I couldn't help but follow after him if he went away. Very confusing! By the end of 4 days together, we were just starting to get to the place where we could play nicely, but then we had to leave.

After visiting my "nephew" cat (who lives in another state) last week, my mom bought me a new toy-- a fuzzy, feathered rodent-thing that chirps like a bird after I toss it in the air. I love it!!

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!!!

Boy that man was really rude to yell at your Mom! My Mommy would have given him what for, as she says. He was probably sneaking around doing something or he wouldn't have been upset. Mommy says a hit dog hollers! (WHAT)?? She says that means if you aren't guilty things don't bother you\, only if you are guilty about things!!!

Its been so very hot here too.

Ok it's nappy time!!

Hi, April. It's been hot here. Two weeks staight of temps above 90 degrees according to the tv weather guy, until yestersays rain. Now it's a wet fur day, but my human says we're gonna pick up Elvis cuz his humans are doing another small vacation. I think it'll be fun, tho my humans been gone a lot without us doing library things she says We still get our short morning and evening walks, sometimes short since she says our plants are thirsty.

Yesterday a guy came out of the park and yelled at our human for taking a picture of his new car. She told him he was parked by where someone had dumped a couch a couple of nights ago after our late night walk. He said he lived on 4th street and would call police. They were there a couple of days ago ticketing guys drinking in the park, which is against the law, though taking pictures of cars without Arlington stickers isn't, though she didn't tell him that, just kept on walking til Frost stopped to poop, and picked it up.

Gotta go now. Wags,

Tara

Hi LingLing & Tara!!! Wag Wag Wag!!! Lick Lick Sniff Sniff!!

Yep I'm a lone Poodle again. Mommy's got a call from that nasty old landlady who told her only one doggie not two. sniff, if you want to know the truth I was glad cause I am the NORTH ALABAMA PRINCESS!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!

It's been hot down here too Tara. It hasn't rained very much though. We did have some bad storms. I just snuggled in to Mommy and we went back to sleep when that loud thunder woke us up.

I had some yummy bites of strawberries yesterday as a little treat! slurp! And then this morning, Mommy let me have two bites of a juicy nectarine! oh yeah it was good too. Of course I get my treats after I do my numbers outside. Oh and I had a couple of small bites of Mommy's deli turkey she had on a sandwich today.

Well it's nappy time! Glad you got in touch with us LingLing and told us about the wifi thingy. We will be saying Poodle prayers for ya'll and everyone else too!!!

Love,
April

Hi, April. Sounds like you're a traveling pup too. And a solo pup again, which is OK of course. Right now, Elvis is visiting, so he's not a solo pup during his vacation. He and Frost are rassling a bit, and each trying to grab a spot next to our human. Plus, she doesn't want any of us on her lap when she's driving, so its fun to watch the action from dad's lap, or the back seat if I feel hot. Anyway, it's been hot here, and seems to rain every day, which isn't much fun. Plus I got itchies and my human says I'm making a hotspot and might have to have a bath or visit the vet or even wear the nasty ecollar, none of which are fun.

Maybe a little more nappie will help,

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!!!

sorry I've been so late in answering but we went on a little trip of our own. Mommy and I went down to see the new baby and the other Grandys were there too. Mommy cooked Chicken & Dumplings, which meant I got some good Chickie Lickie! It was nummy to my tummy!!!

There were two other dogs there. one of them was a big boxer girl named porche and she was really nice to me. Maybe because she is an older dog. then of course there were some bark puppies every time Mommy took me out to sniff around. I barked back too!

Well it's really late so I'm going to nappy's house!

Love,
April

Hi, April. Hope you're having a great Independence Day. It's sticky hot here.

Anyway, this hasn't been a horrible 4th of July. Maybe telling my human about your grandbaby helped. We were in Chicago last week, and the heat wasn't bad, tho my human kept us inside while she did lots of weed whacking, which is noisy and pretty boring anyway. As we got there, we had a walk in the city, where we had admirers of course. We were dancing and Frost was doing a little pullpuppy and barking cuz he was happy. Then my human said that very same block was where the Indians danced before they left Chicago, and lots of other people came and built the city.

The next day we went to a place sort of like Shirlington, but usually with very few dogs. This time, we met other pups, which was kinda neat. Maybe it was cuz the humans had a concert thing. Anyhow, Frost barked at a white dog as my human found a parking space, but we never got to meet her. The first dog we actually met was called Oliver, and his human said he was both bichon and poodle, which I thought was neat. Plus, he had manners, tho Frost didn't, and barked at him both as we approached and even after Oliver and I had a polite sniff. After my human reminded Frost about his Maryland Manners, we met another poodle, named Blackjack. Even Frost agreed he was nice, and behaved.

When we drove back, we stopped at a park in Ohio that was called Fort St. Clair. My human said the gravestones there were about the start of the same war that ended with the dance that began Chicago. That was all a really long time ago, and the fort really wasn't a fort anymore, but an area with a fence. Frost thought the grass was nice, and kept rolling. My human took another candid shot, which Frost didn't mind, cuz he said he was getting the smell of other toughies on his fur. Whatever. I thought the best part of the drive back was licks of the birthday cake shake my human got and shared with us. And the storm in West Virginia really wasn't scary, though my human stopped at the rest area and napped while we kept watch.

So today we're home, and we had a nice walk around Shirlington. Our neighbor next door rang at dinnertime and brought a plate from their picnic, which we didn't get to nibble cuz my human had already made dinner for all of us. I was a little worried when they asked if we minded setting off fireworks in the street, and my human said the sparklers were fine, but they we would be scared if there were big boomers. Well, I wasn't scared at all, though me and Frost cuddled with our human while she watched the big National Independence celebration on TV. I thought of you when the band Alabama started playing, and Frost got up and wanted to boogie and rassle with out human. Then, she took a break to wash dishes, I moved away from the speaker to a better spot to keep track of both our humans. When she and Frost came back, Frost stood in front of the speaker to show how tough he was. I was more impressed by him letting her comb his fur, and fuss with his matsies. He said he got chickie as a reward for both of us.

Well, that's all the news I have. I still want to hear about little Faith, like if she is keeping you company while your human is at the hospital or caring for the grandbaby.

Wags, to all my pup pals.

Tara.

Hey Ya'll!!! Wag Wag Wag!!

Wellll the baby finally came out! I wanted to see it come out but Mommy said they don't let Poodles watch! What? That's just crazy! It was like I would eat it!!!

Anyway, I did get to meet him and he sniffs really good! Mommy said all babies smell like that. Then later, I knew he had Poopie but they didn't. Mommy's nose isn't as good as mine and I knew immediately, so I looked at Mommy and sniffed and then I looked at Mommy and sniffed. Geez! She finally got the message! whew! he had lots of it!

Anyway, it is very hot here up to 99 and more and I stay in the ac as much as possible. I don't like that heat. Mommy is going to take me for my summer cut and I may feel better, but not likely in the sun!

Everyone have a nice 4th of July!!!

Happy first day of summer to all poodles and their people! It's really hot here. My human's car had a flat tire, so we walked home from church at 9 a.m. instead of checking out the dog park before picking dad up. It was hot. I was so glad for the A/C in our other car.

Its Father's day and dad celebrated by giving us treats! Then we had to stay home in the A/C while our human got the tire fixed. I didn't mind much, but Frost waited by the window. When our human came home and said we could walk over to pick up the other car, Frost was so happy. I went along too, then took care to stay in the shade and to do my business within the first block. Then Frost did his, and I hinted to our human that it was time to go back home into the A/C. OK, I can do the pullpuppy as well as Frost, plus I have a really slick hangback mode. So she got the hint and turned around and dropped us off. She then picked up the car herself, came back for us and Dad, and we went to Petco and into the A/C. Even the ferrets realized it was hot and chilled out. Then dad gave us some more treats after having his dinner.

Only problem was hearing my human talk to another human with a shaved tsu. I think we might be getting some more trimsies soon.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April. We know about that sticky heat here too. My human sneaked out yesterday for the whole day and we were really upset. She said it was too hot for pups.

While I was waiting I thought about you and Faith. Is she stealing your toys? Sometimes when Frost leaves fun stuff like pigs ears around, I take it. If its prechewed its sometimes easier on my mouth, though frozen chickie or ice cream are much nicer in hot weather.

Well, I've gotta convince my human we can go today and she can park underground.

Wags,

Tara.

Hey Poodles, Doodles & Peeps!

Well Mommy has been eagerly awaiting the birth of her second Grandchild but no dice. He was due on June first and here it is the 9th! They put the Mommy in the hospital last night so they are probably going to do something called a C-section. Mommy said that is where they cut the baby out! NO WAY!!! I'm so glad I had my fixed surgery so I don't have to have puppies. Mommy said I'm so small they probably would have had to do that surgery to me too.

It's been hot as blazes here in Alabama for quite a while now. in the 90's everyday. I go outside to do my numbers and then a short walk in the cool of the mornings and that is it. Its too hot for Poodles right now, Mommy says especially one of a certain age! What is she talking about? She is 420 years old (I counted it up!!) so she is probably getting senile. Poor old Lady!

Well time to go to my spot on the sofa!!!

Love,
April

Hi, LingLing! It hasn't been horribly hot, but really wet here for a week it seems. We had a nice time in the dog park this afternoon, and I even wanted to play with a terrier pup. No kitties in the dog park, though, and I haven't seen the black neighborhood cat in a while, probably cuz the lady who leaves out the yummy cat food is getting her house fixed, which makes some noise and she's not around that much to put out the bowl.

I'm up early cuz Frost barked and my human woke up. Probably the possum by the window. He walked with her to check out the neighborhood. I checked our garden's clear, and figured out more of what she was doing this afternoon that we had been supervising from the window.

The tv says its gonna get hot hot hot this week. I hope the A/C will work good, and that we'll get a few licks of ice cream too!

Wags,

Tara.

Faith didn't have any problems with the thunderstorms at all, which is a good thing because I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT! HAHAHA!!! She bugs me enough without crying and barking and stuff! She is always trying to jump on my back and play so I have to growl at her and sometimes even snap too! Kids!!!

Oooh, April. so good to hear from you! And say hi to Faith from me and Frost! We had heat here too, so my human got a gel mat which was supposed to keep us cooler. I don't like it much. I'd rather lie on the wooden floor in front of the fan, or my human's old leather jacket which she's let us keep in our favorite corner by the tv. But Frost likes it, and says it keeps him cooler. Well, not that cool, cuz he got trimsies again these last two days, and me too. Then today it got lots cooler. Go figure.

Yesterday, I wondered how Faith is doing with thunderstorms. We had one while the fridge repairman was here, and I wanted to cuddle with my human, but she gave both me and Frost to dad cuz she said she wanted to talk to the repair guy and schedule his next trip. I didn't think it was hard with both of us on her lap. But later we had more fun, driving to the waggie store for more chickie, and just a few compliments. I told my human not to take us to the doggie pool party tho!

Anyhow, sounds like you have lots of work teaching Faith about real dog stuff, and that she knows you're top dog in the house. Frost doesn't always know that here....

Wags.

Tara.

Hellooooo!!!

Tara it has gotten really hot here!! So luckily Mommy runs the air conditioner allll the time! Well BIG news! Mommy went to her daughter's house the other day for the granddaughter's graduation. Well the daughter has a small Yorkie. Mommy picked it up and she could feel every bone in its body! the back bone was really sticking up. Mommy talked to the Son and come to find out Mommy's daughter was just going off to the beach and not making any provisions to feed the little thing!! Mommy brought her home. Yes I'm a little jealous cause she is always wanting to sniff me and play with me and ya'll know I don't play!! I'm 11 years old!

Anyway, we have had her about 8 days and she has already gained about a pound! PLUS! she is two years old and has never had a shot and isn't fixed! I had my fixed surgery when I was 4 months old because it prevents all breast cancer and cervical cancer!

PLUS! she has never been to the groomer. When Mommy brought her home, she smelled like stinky rancid oil! UGH!! Mommy bathed her the next day so she smells way better now, but I still don't want her touching me! This poor little pup stayed in her cage all the time. She was really freaking out the first time she felt grass on her feet! She just stood there for the longest time sniffing and looking. She did her numbers in her cage on a pad! EEEWWWW Everybody knows that dogs don't like to do their business in their own houses!

Anyway, Mommy assures me I am still the baby around here! This pup's name is faith. I think she has faith that Mommy will take care of her and I know she will. Mommy says she isn't letting her go back to her daughter's house, but she may have to if the daughter calls the police or something.

Anyway, that's the news!

Love,
April

Hi, pup and kitty pals! Is everyone chilling in the A/C? Me and Frost just got back from a road trip, where we didn't have much time to meet other pups. OK, we met a tzu named Max yesterday, but his humans wouldn't let us sniff butt because he said Max had lots of attitude (like a certain bichonboy I know!) and didn't always mind his manners -- not just cuz he just got shaved!

Anyhow, Frost and I had a little history schmistory trip to Hagerstown last Sunday. We learned that every year during the Civil War, different armies would fight over the town, which got its people (and pups of course) very upset. And made big graveyards outside town, which had flags and lights, though we only walked around the nice gardens. We weren't upset at all, especially cuz the lady at the Sonic drive in saw up and gave us the bestest treat, a saucer each of soft serve vanilla and a milk bone. Yummy! Until then, I didn't like going to Sonic cuz my human likes the lemonberry slushes, which aren't pup-food. Now we think Hagerstown is maybe the nicest city in Maryland!

Wags,

Tara.

Hey Poodles Doodles Kitties and Peeps!

We are having hot weather too! Mommy and I sit on the patio in the morning and I sit in the sun and lift my tiny little head into the wind! Sometimes it pins my ears back and I can hear it whooshing past! there are all kinds of good sniffs out there too! I can tell when the bunny rabbits have been there! Mommy can tell cause she puts out carrots and lettuce and stuff for them. but I can smell them! There are birds everywhere too, singing and pecking. I just watch I don't chase. Mommy says I can't sit out there for hours like I want to because I am a light skinned pup and I can get a sun burn even with my fur. I don't know but she lets me stay till she notices my tongue hanging out!

But now it's rainy here. Mommy says her flowers and veggies need the rain to go big and beautiful!

Ok it's time to go to nappy's house!

Love,
April

Hi, April! Did you send us all the hot weather? Not that I feel horribly hot after last week's trimsies, but I'm hoping my human turns on the A/C. The tv weather says it might hit 90 degrees today or tomorrow, and each day last week the news said reached 80 degrees. It's cooler at night, of course, and it's been kinda cloudy too, with no mosquitos yet if we go and lounge a teensy bit in our back yard.

On Saturday morning me and Frost walked more than 3 miles, so we've napped a bit since, as well as supervised our human mowing the lawn and pulling weeds cuz lots is growing. For Frost, Saturday's walk was his first with lotsa other pups. At first he wanted to bark at everybody, 'cept the gardener where we parked. Then he chilled a teensy bit, and only barked at the big dogs, who ignored him. Then Frost decided to remember his manners, and we got lots more admirers.

I liked the families in north Arlington who came out for what some kids called the parade of dogs. One lady came up to us before we started and said I looked just like her dog Ozzie, a bichon-cavalier king charles spaniel who crossed the rainbow bridge, last year I think. Anyhow, I let her pet me a bit, and let my human let another human take our pictures with two human mascots in fuzzy blue and yellow (I think) costumes. They probably got kinda hot dancing between photos, and I was glad my human just walked, cuz we know she can't dance like a poodle! Plus, the start area had just too many vets and big dogs, so I even gave my human the "get us outta here" sign, so she took us to the side, and then started walking when it got a little less crowded.

Some of the people with small dogs took the 1k stroll instead of the 3 mile walk, but Frost assured our human we were tough enough and pulled to the right turn. Most of the dogs on that walk were big and wore bandannas, but we walked just in our own fur. We met a three-legged dog a couple of times, and a chihauhua and her humans (the lady had a pretty sun umbrella) a few times, since our human kept stopping and wanting me especially to drink water, then she resumed walking at a nice pace, that was faster than lots of other humans but comfy for Frost and me. It wasn't really long or hot enough for me to get thirsty, tho Frost of course recharged at pretty much every water stop, as well as marked maybe a few dozen times while he did his pull-puppy thing. Another dog we kept passing was McAllen, a Wheaten terrier whose fur was colored purple and blue and green and yellow and pink--well we didn't sniff butts, but he seemed just fine, and kept his tail high, as did me and Frost. Afterward, my human drove to McDonald's and we had licks of froyo, which really hit the spot!

Well, that's my news. Hoping all my other pup pals had good weekends! Wags,

Tara.

Oh, LingLing so good to hear from you! But my human says no carnivore poop in gardens. And she stomped her foot too. So I asked what a carnivore is. She said someone who eats meat like the lamb and chickie and bacon and all the yummies Frost and I love. She says kitties eat meat too, which is why the food bowl on the porch next door smells good. So we're both carnivores. Seems some wormies can get into our tummies and make us or our humans sick But bunnies and cowsies don't eat meat so their poopie can go into the garden if its de-composed right, which she says is like compost.

I don't understand it much, but. I know Frost got his trimsies so I'm next. I've been kinda hot these last nights, so maybe it won't be horrible. At least Frost and me just went with her to the Waggie store, and I saw her get more chickie!

Wags,

Tara.

HA, Poodle & Peep pals,

I hope that all my pals are getting out & enjoying this gorgeous weather we're having. April, I read where you are getting some exercise of every description chasing those illusive bunny "wabbits".Tara, I'm so glad you're better! Sounds like you, Frost, & your human have started taking your very educational history schmistory trips for this summer. I know that you enjoy them. You can't ever get enough education, we just miss you all during the summer. Well, here mommy puts 2 cups of seed in her bird feeder @ least once every week. The bird feeder is hanging just on the other side of my front porch. We see all kind of birdies - red birds, blue birds, sparrows, robin red breast and others that I don't know the names of yet. Mommy also has a humming bird feeder, but those little birdies are FAST, we don't see them as much. But they are there B/C the feeder gets empty very fast. Mommy has to fill that feeder a lot. She raises the window for me & I just watch all the birdies. My tail just swishes back & forth in wild anticipation of going out & playing w/ them. But they just perch, calmly eating, secure in the knowledge that I can't emoticon . But, I sure have fun trying!!

Hi, April! Hope you had a good nap. It's gotten hot here and I'm a little worried that my human's gonna have another trimsie fit. But I think she's gonna finish with Frost first.

We had a little excitement last night with a boom and sparks from the top of a pole on the other side of the creek. We didn't get close, with the police and power company and all that. We just patrolled the block. My human had a long chat with Jobe's human and another lady. Jobe was lying down and chilling out, so we decided not to bark at her.

The flowers are really pretty, and my human went to Lowes twice yesterday, as well as planted flowers under our supervision the day before. The other humans yesterday said that pollen might've been part of the electric problem, cuz most humans are turning on their A/C so they don't get sneezies. Another transformer blew on the other side over by the highway too.

Anyhow, our humans are more upset about our fridge, which isn't very old (I remember Chloe barking at the install guys) but isn't cooling right again, though at least this time the freezer for our yummy and cooling chickie is just fine. She says it might be a lemon, which all pups know isn't proper food.

That's it for now,

Wags,

Tara.

Oh, LingLing. I'm so glad to hear from you! My human has phone problems too.

But I'm better. And we had a history schmistory trip this weekend. My human took us to two of her favorite city parks in Philadelphia, and we had admirers and met a couple of nice pups in one, called Rittenhouse Square. Only thing was my human taking an "action shot" of Frost marking the post that has the bags she and other humans use for our poopie. I told her to respect out privacy. Sheesh.

Today she took another "action shot" that was much better. We were in this park in Ohio with really good grass, and a pile that was all cut. Frost had to do a roll -- or two or three -- and his fur really got covered with clippings. The day before he and me both had really nice rolls in grass still uncut in a this funny cemetery called Harmony with a stone door my human had to push open. Well, the grass was just the BEST. Today we met a few nice pups too, and got a bunch of admirers before Frost did his messy roll thing.

So that's my news and I'm sticking to it, as long as it doesn't make matsies. Hahahaha.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi poodle and peep pals,

sorry that I have been gone for so very very long, but mommy took a bad spill. much later she had to leave, even before she could give me my breakfast but the houseKeeper fed me .Mommy was gone for 3 weeks. After she got home, she was to tired to do much of anything for a while. Then, when she finally did get on the computer it had issues! It is still not fixed all the way,but mommy got a smartphone on the 15th of this month. But that was because her old phone died. She likes posting on this phone because all she has to do talk to it and its types what she says! I think that's neat. well Got to go now, mommy wants to go to bed. Good night friends.

Kitty kisses,

Hi Tara!

Mommy says that good about that thing they took off of you. so I'll believe her!

I had a big old thing took off my butt too and they did that to the bump and mommy said it was where they look at the under a microscope. What in the world is a microscope? I don't think I want to know! If they are looking at parts of my butt that was cut off, I'm pretty sure it's something I don't want to know about HAHAHAHAHA!!!

So Spring must be up there now where ya'll live. I've figured out that spring can't come to the whole world at the same time so it has to come down where we are and then walk up to where ya'll are. who knows?

Well Mommy says it's time to do my numbers. She better have some pretty good treats is all I can say!!!

Love,
April

Thanks, April. I don't know whether to congratulate you on the move delay or sigh cuz it sounds like a move might be coming anyways.

As for me, my human took me to the vet yesterday, which was really scary tho Frost stayed by to protect us. The vet took out the plastic piece that was really bugging me and said I was doing really good and that the biopsy results were noncancerous, whatever than means. But my human looked relieved, so when I sat down afterward (with my human between me and the vet!), I let even the vet see my tail.

My owie still itches big time sometimes. Plus, my human mostly keeps that nasty big collar on me, tho I did train her to take it off if she wants me to do my numbers. Yesterday morning we went to Shirlington and she seemed pretty happy when I pooped, tho not as happy as the day before when I jumped on the cushion in the back yard and showed her where she left her old cellphone that she was looking for a lot last week, and seemed stressed out about.

Then we went on a teensy history schmistory trip by some Gilpin covered bridge in Maryland with really nice grass. My human was so happy when I peed that I thought she was gonna zumba or something.

Otherwise, the vet said I'm not supposed to walk much til my owie heals. So Frost walked with our human while I tried to nap in the car. He almost got in a scuffle with a pit bull outside the vet's office, but inside was on his best behavior, even trying to sniff the office cat, who hissed at him. Frost told me about some nice people and pups in a park, especially a bichon named Razzle Dazzle who's bigger than him. They sniffed butts and left pmail for each other as they walked around the little park. One lady and man followed Frost and our human to our car and admired me too, which was OK. But the licks of McDonalds ice cream were even better!

Wags,

Tara.

Hi April. it's raining here now, and I don't wanna go outside to do my numbers either. My human told me to write to take my mind off my owie, which I think needs good licks, but she says no. Yesterday I had surgery to remove that cyst or whatever. I thought maybe they were gonna make my tail pink, like a dog we saw outside. But my tail's still normal, though I don't wanna walk with it high cuz of my owie. And the rain. Plus, my human says I just gotta wear a weird pink and blue thing to keep me from licking my owie. I managed to get if off when my human fell asleep, but she put it back on. Then she gave me a little more chickie, I think with a pill in it, but I don't care. Chickie's yummy. My appetite's coming back even though I didn't feel like eating yesterday.

Frost said he was worried most of the day cuz he had to watch our humans alone. He wouldn't eat the yummies dad tried giving him until he saw me again. Then he ate like normal, tho I wasn't hungry, just needed good cuddles cuz of my owie. He spent the night by me and my human. Like a gentlepup he didn't cuddle too close so we would both get too hot. Now he's watching from the floor. It got pretty hot yesterday, but today's cooler, but another wet fur day.

Anyhow, the daffydils are blooming in our garden now, and I had a little spring fever last week. We went to Richmond last Saturday and sorta had a history schmistory walk. We did the same walk last summer, but now there was a nice breeze and sunshine and lots of people--and a picnic too. We had lots of admirers but my human didn't let them feed us us, maybe because Frost was doing his barkpuppy thing with most of the other dogs. His spring fever! We also liked our strawberry milkshake licks on the way home. My owie doesn't hurt when I remember the breeze as we walked back and forth on the bridge. My human said she nearly lost her hat a coupla times crossing above the James River.

On Sunday we drove across the Potomac River to see the cherry blossoms, but they were still asleep. My human made a joke about them not getting the memo about the festival starting, which I didn't understand. I do know that Washington couldn't just borrow cherry trees from Richmond, where they were blooming, along with the shadbushes and some magnolia. Anyhow, later that morning we crossed again and supervised some kids doing an Easter Egg hunt. While we were waiting for most of the kids to show up, and a mom and her sister to return from their car, one little girl brushed my fur with this little brush we got in Richmond. It felt really nice, and maybe my human's right about the owie not hurting so much when I remember nice things. And of course the admirers were nice too, even if Frost barked at the Easter bunny, who then danced away from us and with some of the kids.

Anyhow, I was supposed to have this surgery last week, but my human said I got bumped cuz another pup had an emergency. Then, I thought the cyst thingy had gotten better, especially with all the admirers and nice brushing, but my human didn't think so. So in we went yesterday to the vets with the office kittys, and I worried about being abandoned, but my human came back, and petted me as we drove home, with me on dad's lap.

So that's my news. Hope your move is going well.

Wags and happy easter and spring

Hi Poodly Doodlys and Kittys!

It rained really hard here last night so I would not go out to do my numbers! Mommy whisked me right out there anyway and my fur was soaking wet, but she got a warm towel out of the dryer and it felt soooo good! I love those warm towels!

Spring is here in the South! The pear trees are almost finished blooming and the daffodils too. But we are moving so Mommy isn't going to plant anything for a week or so till we get settled! I myself will be carried to the new apartment and I will watch all the doings from my Princess Chair! Life is good!

Love,
April the Poodle

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!!!

Mommy gets that junk in the mail too! it makes her made cause she can tell by the name that the courthouse or someone up there is selling or sharing her information! I wish you could come down to my vet! She Poo Poos doing all that testing (that was Mommy saying that
! My Doctor Poo Poos on tests! HAHAHAHAHA!!! With my allergies she said she didn't need to scrape me to know that I have allergies sometimes. Also when I had to have that horrible big old ladies lump on my butt removed, She cleaned my teeth while I was asleep so that I wouldn't have to be under sedation twice. She tries to save Mommy some money where she can. There are some vets here though that are all about the money!

We probably sent that rain up your way! It's cloudy and a little rainy here today too so I will be staying in except when I go out to do my numbers.

Hope ya'll have a good day!!

Love,
April

Hi, April. It's a wet fur day here, but I'm hoping my human will take me and Frost with her to Richmond.

She was a little happier yesterday after Fedex brought a new credit card, but the mail had another Florida-postmarked card from the sneaky real estate developers, supposedly for dad and from Burke, Virginia, and another one from CapitalOne Bank, supposedly for her. She wondered if they were the illegal robocallers from New York who called the day before, that the computer said might be in cahoots between Tmobile and Anthem. Plus she grumbled about how CapOne settled a lawsuit in Chicago about its illegal robocalls last month, but is keeping it secret here. She tried to look the card guys up online, along with another vet she thought was good, but now seems retired. She cussed a little when she found the only company with a similar name lost its license to do business in Virginia years ago, despite this post card's saying it was sent by a licensed real estate broker. The business address for the company resembling the website name was a condo on George Mason drive that was probably flipped in 2005 and foreclosed upon, cuz in June it sold for lots and lots of money less than the bank paid. She thought it might be the same big fraudster group, but here we are little dogs and not-rich people, and the AG didn't participate in the supposed illlegal robocall settlement with this or another Florida group that used the same schtick as the Missouri robocallers last week. She was really bummed out and angry when she heard the Virginia legislature passed a "bipartisan" bill protecting fraudsters against the elderly, calling it online privacy for dead people even though the real beneficiaries are the banks who help fraudsters, who want to only keep records for 18 months or less.

Then she finally decided to relax and catch some sunshine. We went to the dog park, and Frost barked a lot. When a pup got a little too fresh sniffing my butt, I gave the up sign, and cuddled while my human talked to two other ladies. One said I should go to a new vet who wants business, but she didn't know anything about. The other said we should go to a vet near us cuz he seemed nice and his hospital has "Caring" in its name. My human said she had checked that vet out when she got Cleo, and it was the most expensive around, and lots of neighbors no longer go there. Plus, when the senior beagle down the block was dying while his human was in the Navy, they kept charging and charging, more than $3000 in 3 days, before finally telling his caretaker to help him cross the rainbow bridge. She said that vet advertises a lot about helping at the Arlington shelter across from the dog park, but cares most about his pocketbook, even though she didn't have a recent invoice from him, so she doesn't know if they use the same software to jack up bills. And then they post on google with the same silly "nice vet" ratings as these ladies were talking. So she was sad and worked on wikipedia after cuddling me.

Wags,

Jane.

((((Tara)))) I wilol be saying Poodle Prayers for sure!

Oh. Em. Gee! (Mama says that so I hope it isn't a cuss word cause she say that sometimes too) a vet that has been disciplined for cruelty to animals! That is just wrong! he needs to lose his license. Mommy said if she found out a vet was cruel tome she would have a snot slinging fit! (that's another one of her sayings which I'm pretty sure means she would tear the place up!)

That is too sad about your Mommy's credit card! Around here in Alabama, out in what they call the country, people are stealing big dogs and everyone suspect that they are using them for bait dogs for dog fighting! (shudder). there are some bad people in this world! Luckily Mommy doesn't let me go outside alone and she doesn't take me anywhere that she would have to leave me in the car cause she knows someone would break in and take me away!

Ok I'm pretty sure I'm going to have nightmare Poodle dreams tonight!!!

Love,
April

Yes, it was free and yummy in my tummy! And the weather yesterday was great! I wanted to run and play, but my human was fussing with the ladder again, and in a library or something, so we only got a little walk at Green Spring Gardens. She says its sort of a history schmistory place, cuz one of the buildings is really old and the landscaping was done by Beatrix Farrand, who was the first major woman landscape architect, and by some guy who also did a lot of work at Colonial Williamsburg. She said it's one of her favorite gardens, but always makes her a little sad, cuz it was the last walk she took Cleo on. It was getting dark outside, but we saw witchhazels blooming, and met two ladies who admired us, though one was a little scared of Frost doing his barkpuppy thing.

I could tell my human was a little sad, especially after hearing her and dad talk on the phone outside Ikea. Seems someone used their credit card in Texas, which is way far away..So now here credit card is cancelled and she has to wait til tonight to get confirmation of the bad charges being reversed and a tracking number for the new card. She told them that our mail has been crazy lately, and it was yesterday too, with the new mail lady hanging out in her truck twice for more than a half hour in front of our house, and bringing mail while my human was up on the ladder, and when my human checked it, it was all for our next door neighbor even though I heard her tell the mail lady our number. And when she checked on the other side, Snickers' mom got her mail correct.

My human's upset cuz Monday's mail had a card from another vet that we both like and don't. Vet Mark is OK, but every time we go there we have to wait, then then we get another guy, who's older than Vet Mark, and drives a fancy car with DC plates. My human thinks this guy bought part of the practice from Mark's sister, Dr. Deb, when she got sick. Well, he talks a lot and didn't hurt me when we went about our poopie problems last fall, but my human got suspicious after he said his old vet practice was west of Chicago near Joliet or someplace. Well, when we went to Chicago and visited the pet store near Microcenter (that we found closed on our last trip), well, it turns out that he used to own the Mid-Twon cinic near there for lotsa years. Then he got disciplined for cruelty to animals during surgery by the Illinois Vet board, and more recently by the Virginia Vet Board. So she doesn't want to take me there, no way!

So I don't know what she's gonna do. She even asked Philadelphia neighbors for recommendations, but I don't want to to to the Vet School there who hurt Chloe. All this is really sad and scary, so keep me in your prayers, please.

Wags,

Tara.

Thanks for the prayers, April. My human told me the pet insurance is part of the problem. She said insurance isn't bad, but the pet insurance companies usually cheat lots with any bills besides ordinary exams and teeth cleaning like you got. She said she's talked to lots and lots of humans about it, but only one lady said she got a bill paid, and then the company dropped her senior dog from coverage within a year. Me, I heard the vet people try to sell insurance lots, and the offices now always have insurance ads, but I've never heard a human or pup on our side say they got paid. The vet who hurt Chloe lots is a big pet insurance saleslady, but my human says its a behavioral economics thing, so she doesn't feel guilty about her really big bills. She calls it blaming the victim.

Yesterday, we went back to the vet to pick up what my human said was the blood work paperwork. I waited in the car with dad, and there were lots of cars, like more than a dozen. Inside, she said she didn't see or hear any animals, and there were just the two desk people and the one new doc from July, that cheated by charging for putting my med into liquid though their door said this was a new free service and my human told her I eat pills just fine. Plus, my human looked up the other med that vet prescribed on the internet, and when she saw it was counter-indicated for a dog like me, she didn't give it to me, and I got better. Whew! It's all just making my head spin.

I felt better yesterday in the sunshine, and we had a teensy sorta history schmistory trip into Maryland, and got admirers, though there was mud and her mom told one little girl not to cross it to pet me, but use the sidewalk. So last week we learned that the Confederate Womans Memorial is in Baltimore by the big Episcopal church on land that used to be a plantation of the Merryman family. We saw the old cornerstone in what we thought was a garage, but which was probably a stable in 1800 my human said. And the old church from yesterday, well the old priest there had been a pal of George Washington, and that building was from like 1775 or 1776. My human said the priest back then who had the same first name as dad was unusual cuz he freed all his slaves, and paid them like normal people. We thought the grass was pretty nice, though wet, and heard geese as we took care of our business after our admirers went to their cars.

Anyway, my human was still upset about not being able to access hotmail on this laptop because she keeps getting that security question process. She managed to download her hotmail messages on her phone at ikea, and showed me in the car how it's hard to read on the small screen. She also did a virus check on this machine, and says the problem is not from Frost dancing across the keyboard, which works just fine for wikipedia stuff.

Oh, and when we went to ikea yesterday morning, someone knocked off our downspout again, but it wasn't a wet fur day, so she's not really upset about that, though she wasn't happy that the neighbor who once let her use his big ladder now says he doesn't have it, and worries that he was the guy in the red pickup who passed her the day she first picked up the downspout that someone placed behind our car before 5am. She thought the driver in the dark seemed shorter than Santiago. Frost says it was him, which is he always barks at him.

Oh, and my human's upset that on Saturday she got a letter from Anthem Insurance in Kentucky saying it wasn't covering any of dad's nursing home stay, but he can appeal, which means lotsa paperwork. The day before, we got a letter from Anthem Healthkeepers in Missouri forwarded from Chicago saying he could get a new blood glucose meter. She's worried that the Anthems are in cahoots with the really nasty and dishonest lawyers, cuz she got illegal robocalls from a Missouri robocaller last week (which left a message of just "goodbye"), and from a caller ID blocked number that now doesn't show on her stupid Windows phone's call history. Ok, dad's from Illinois, like these really nasty lawyers, but they added a California office and go around lotsa places. And the appeal paperwork gets actually read, well, we don't know where. My human thought she took care of things with lotsa really long stupid calls on February 20, but it looks like not. Sigh.

Oh, and this morning the old phone that she could read hotmail on yesterday, well, it's doing the blue screen thing.

Slow wags,

Tara.

I'm so sorry about the cyst on your mammary gland! I hate it when they stick my paw too! My friend had to have that same surgery, but her Mommy was taking her to Pet Smart at their veterinarian and since she has their pet insurance, which she says is about 35 bucks a month, they don't charge for teeth stuff and shots and things like that and as far as surgeries, I don't know. Then she had to go to the vet cause her Mommy put a collar on her cause she couldn't find her harness and she broke her thingy in her throat!!! But she likes the vet there.

I sure hope you get to feeling better! I will be saying Poodle Prayers for you and Mommy is in a group where everyone has Poodles and she will ask them to pray for you too!!!

Lots of rain here for the past week, but I don't mind it as much as snow! ACK!!!

April

Hi, Solly and welcome back!

Actually, I'm feeling not so great, and I don't think it's the mud from the rain. I'm scared cuz my human took me to two vets last week. I hate vets after that Chicago one took out most of my teeth, and I shivered in her arms each time.

The first one said I was getting fat, then said I needed surgery for a lump on my mammary gland. My human was angry afterward cuz the new young vet didn't even want to do a blood test or xray til the morning of the surgery in a week or 2, saying it was "best practices". My human said that meant for some company, especially after she finally gave my human an estimate for $1200 to $1600, which my human said was about three times as much as for the surgery that sent Cleo to the rainbow bridge, though less right now than the bills from the vet that hurt Chloe lots before she died.

Then my human took me to one of the vets who saw Chloe, and she said I needed surgery on the mammary gland that has a 50% chance of being cancer and 50% of being OK, plus she wanted to remove another tooth and didn't explain why. They took me in back and stuck my paw, and today I don't feel good, though we had a little history schmistory walk in Baltimore before the rain and today my human took the pink bandage off. That vet hasn't bothered with an estimate and dad said we shouldn't have gone there anyway.

Now, my human's really bummed out cuz she says that's another three good old vets retiring and being replaced by young vets who think the big money's in referrals. I don't know what she means about running the practice into the ground. She explained that the new vet she didn't bother taking me into has like six assistants and only basically does tooth cleaning in-house, farming most everything else out. These other two both had said the best practices thing about no tests til surgery. And this one now wants to give me newfangled pills for a urinary infection though she didn't check my pee. Well I didn't like getting stuck and the surgery sounds really scary.

Tonight my human really freaked out when she found one of the new vets had subscribed me to Petly, which is some stupid human thing. She says she just asked them for the blood test report. She worries because the Petly site seems just awful about privacy, as well as useless. I told her to just sick Frost on them. Another problem is then she couldn't get onto her hotmail account to even unsubscribe. I'm not sure why she's upset, cuz she says most of the stuff she gets there is junk. But she says its the timing, either with that site or some real jerk lawyer who's suing her so his pals can make lots of money selling grandpa's house. All I know is that we left pmail there on our last trip to Chicago, and she shoveled snow, which isn't scary at all.

I think she just needs to go to sleep, but she says she can't, which is strange for her. I even let her trim my fur, and Frost watched, and then let her do his too (in exchange for chickie of course).

Me, I don't know whether she or me needs cuddles more!

Tara.

Hello all my poodle buddies. This is Solly. I haven't been here in a LOOOOOONG TIME because I got skinny and didn't feel the need to come around for awhile...

But that changed.

I can't put my picture up because I gained too much weight treating myself because I was feeling proud of myself for losing weight :(. When I left, I was 65 pounds and now I weigh 79. My mommy says even if I am tall for a standard, that is getting to be a problem. So she is going to make me walk and run with her. I don't know whether I am happy or sad... I am happy when it is sunny out, but today there are mud puddles in the road and I don't like mud puddles. :(

Oh, well. No more liver treats for me.

Solly.

Hi, pup pals. Hope everyone's home and cozy. The weather warmed up a little after Sunday, but it's been getting colder all day today. Yesterday, my human told dad we probably wouldn't go to Ikea today cuz of the wintry mix and ice forecast. But after we did our business in the rain in the morning, we tried to get in the car and she told us not now but if we went inside, she'd tell dad to watch the forecast and it would be his choice. Then while we napped, she did computer stuff til dad called us to go to Ikea. There was a little snow on the ground and it was snowing, and we were happy, but she sounded a little worried as she drove and told dad not to talk til we got there cuz she was listening to the radio and watching the other cars. Then when we got there, she parked inside the garage and messed around with the windows, drying and protecting them she said.

When we drove home, she cussed a lot at other drivers going fast or who didn't clear off their windows, especially a Maryland truck that changed lanes just before the Beltway and slid and nearly hit the side wall and then another truck. Then we had to wait in the car while she shoveled. She said at least no-one stole the door decoration like yesterday, nor threw down her lights like the two days before. We just did our business and went inside to dry off from the snowflakes in our fur. Frost wanted to go in the back yard, but she said no cuz she didn't want to have to go down the stairs on her butt to pick him up like Sunday night and Monday, though Frost said that zooming around her was the most fun he had all week, cuz our human has been spending too much time in libraries or somewhere without us.

I'm just glad she's right here by me now. Gotta nap,

Tara.

Hi, April. Glad to hear your snow melted. It's been a kinda wet fur day here, but with wintry mix, which my human says is too dangerous to drive in. It wasn't bad in the morning, but we didn't get to go to the dog park like we usually do after church, tho Frost barked and nudged big time. Nope, my human said, we had to hurry home to pick up dad for our normal breakfast trip. Then when we got back, she made me get out, telling me to watch dad while she got some groceries before the crunchy sleet got nasty. I didn't understand why I couldn't go too, but I followed orders.

A coupla hours after she got back, me and Frost wanted to go out, so she took us to finish unloading the car. She was slip-sliding and holding onto the railing and then the car and fence. Frost pulled her toward the car after we took care of our business. When she opened the door, of course I jumped in, but she said no history schmistory or any kind of trips in this weather. She sounded just a teensy bit cross, and I was disappointed. The trees did look pretty with ice on them, and me and Frost could walk OK, but humans don't always balance well, so we went back into the house to cuddle proper. My human said it should melt by tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's supposed to be OK, then some more precip (which I think means rain or snow or wintry mix) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Oh, my!

Wags anyway. And so great to hear Maggie's OK and her human too, even if they might be having wintry mix too!

Tara.

Hello!!!

Well Alabama got a whole foot of snow yesterday and last night! Mommy opened the door and told me to come quick and look and it snowing like crazy!! I barked and barked but it wouldn't stop!! Mommy made me go outside anyway, but again, I hugged tight to the building and didn't get any of that cold white stuff on my tiny little paws!

Mommy said she talks to Maggie and her Mom everyday on facebook and they are fine! Her Mommy had tongue cancer last year but they cut it out (ouchie!!!) and she said she is doing fine. she worries some type of cancer may come back though.

Well, the snow mostly melted today, but now it is still snowy some and there is lots of water from the melting snow and it's going down to 26!! Luckily, I've already done my numbers! Whew!

I hope everyone has a nice night and day tomorrow!!!

Love
April

Hi, April!

I'm waiting for spring too. We had a little sunshine and reasonably warm weather on Sunday, after we woke up to ice and my human said she wasn't gonna let dad try to walk down our front steps.

Well we eventually took another little history schmistory trip in Maryland, though my human said her cell phone was acting really strange after Laurel, which is a city in Maryland, as well as a plant that died in our back yard when we were in Illinois a while back. Anyhow, on Sunday we saw a big church in Baltimore and an even bigger Confederate General's house right up by the Susquehanna River. It was on the other side from where she said the Indians usedta live a real long time ago. And she said the Confederate General died not long after he returned to his big house and mill after getting wounded at the big Gettysburg battle and then getting exchanged in a big prisoner swap 150 years ago, which is a really long time.

Me and Frost just wanted to play in the sunshine and snow, even though there was lots and it was wet. Back in Arlington we had a little snow overnight Saturday, and lots of ice by morning, so she shoveled out by church too, as we watched, cuz she said she had a real shovel and the warden only had this plastic thing. Whatever. We did a little more supervision and pmail when she took us out to meet our admirers and she told everybody to use the lower doors rather than go up the icy front steps that me and Frost thought weren't that horrible, but then our balance is pretty good, if you don't mind me bragging a little.

Anyway, in Maryland this time there was lots of snow that was really wet. I kept tangling myself in the leash til my human dropped it and let me run and tease Frost just a little bit. We let her take her history pictures and talk too. We walked for about a block, and I think Frost got a little cold cuz it was touching his belly lots. I saw him do the bichon hop when we weren't following in some human's footsteps. He said he was fine, of course. Back at the car, we met a family with a couple of kids who thought we were cute, like the folks at our church and the guys shoveling out by the Baltimore church. But I was glad to get back inside our car and for our human blasting the heater.

Oh, and when we crossed that big Susquehanna river, one side was all frozen with snow on top. The other side had a little water coming fast out of the dam that we drove over. Then in a little while more, we passed a horse and buggy just before we got into Pennsylvania. My human said they were black buggy Mennonites and didn't have a heater in their buggy. Poor them, but the horse looked happy enough, though we couldn't see his eyes til we passed cuz he had some black blinders on. Then she said it was Washington's birthday and he probably rode his horse on some of these very same roads. She also talked about how the Brandywine battlefield we passed was a long time before the Gettysburg battlefield that's a little further away (but closer to Maggie that we haven't heard from in a while) and that we might visit some other time.

Anyway, we really didn't meet any fun pups in Philadelphia like we usually do, cuz by the time we got there, the wind was starting to kick up again and it was getting colder. Plus our car got kinda stuck, so my human had to shovel it out, and we went home cuz the radio said it was gonna get real cold again but at least the pipes didn't burst, whatever that means, and we had to take dad for his blood test. Me, I'm just glad this week doesn't feel as cold as last week. At least there's really no wind.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April and LingLing! It's way cold here too, and we got snow last night. My human shoveled to the fire hydrant and a little more, and we went with her to pick up some breakfast. We wanted to go more, but she said lots of cars were fishtailing, so no more driving til the roads are clear.

I hope they're clear for tonight, cuz its the Mardi Gras parade. I had fun watching it a couple of years ago. Some pups really dress up, though I didn't like wearing beads much. I hope I'll either be in full fur or in my cozy jacket, with nothing on my head or paws. Last year I told Frost about it, but my human fell asleep and we didn't go.

Today, Frost insisted upon checking out our back yard, even though our human didn't shovel. He got some snow on his private parts, but still checked out the yard and came back to say no possums. He also marked on our walk in front. Now he's snoozing.

On Sunday we had sort of a history schmistory trip. We drove around Maryland's Eastern Shore and our human took some photos of what she said were historic churches and went to a conference. We didn't mind the music in the car and liked walking around the churches, though it was really cold, like 15 degrees outside, so we warmed up in the car after pretty short walks. There was a little snow on the ground, but nothing really uncomfortable even when it dripped off our paws in the car. We didn't check out the conference personally or even walk in Ocean City, cuz the wind was really nasty. I could see the car door try to shut, but but inside the car was OK with lotsa sunshine and other cars to stop the wind. After our human came back to check on us napping, Frost went up in back to look out the window for her and sun a bit. He said there weren't many people and no dogs to bark at. Plus he said the people just looked at the ground or held their hats or hoods on, so I continued my sprawled out nap. Today too.

Wags to all,

Tara.

Hi April,
Gosh, from my window it sure does look pretty outside. It snowed early, early this morning, but sometime after 4 & before 5:30. ( mommy looked out the window about 4. But it has been way below freezing all day & now everything is frozen & white. the weatherman said that it is going to be VERY cold most of the week, in fact Wed. night it is supposed to be 8. April, I know how you feel about snow, so I hope you were able to stay indoors, in your nice warm house with your mommy. I sincerely pray that all my friends, both feral & pet could stay nice & warm today.
This afternoon, mommy & I saw a flock of sparrows taking turns eating out of our bird feeder on the porch.
