Hi, Gracie--

I hope you're having fun in the poodelicious weather. Soon, it's gonna be Halloween, which IMHO isn't a fun holiday. But I was grateful for my jacket a couple of days ago. I don't know if your human's gonna dress you up with clothes. I'm not a big fan, unless they keep me dry or warm. I think my fur's very nice, thank you very much, even if it's not as thick as Frost's.

Anyhow, my human said we brought proper poodle weather to Chicago, tho I couldn't tell it the first couple of days. Last weekend we had lotsa fun, and Frost enjoyed marking in lotsa different states on both Friday and Saturday. Boypups! Anyhow, the weather was poodelicious at the Cumberland Gap, which is in the mountains where Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky come together.

That's how Frost and I marked in three states Friday. We also got lotsa admirers in both Big Stone Gap, which is in Virginia, and in Cumberland Gap in Tennessee. Then we hiked up the mountain, which had some interesting smells. We didn't see any bears, just humans running and walking, and who admired us. Even Frost was on good behavior. When we came down we went camping, which was new to us, but back in Virginia. I enjoyed cuddling in the tent, and we heard frogs or crickets but no TV and no bears. Frost saw another bichon as we drove out, but we didn't get to sniff.

The next day, we each had a fun roll in the mulch at Henry Clay's farm in Lexington, Kentucky. OK, we got lotsa admirers before our roll and shake-outs. Nobody else thought the Civil War monument was interesting. They liked the flowers, or maybe the old house. But we sniffed and could tell lotsa other pups had walked and marked all over the park. Then our human kept with the Abraham Lincoln history schmistory theme, so we had a little walk in downtown Lexington and visited Mary Todd's birthplace next to a big church with bells, and her house as a girl, which is near the stadium, where humans were getting ready for a party. We didn't stay, just smelled the flowers and got a few more admirers.

Then we drove on, and stopped at another farm park in Louisville, which is still in Kentucky. That was supposed to be of Lincoln's friend Mr. Speed, but we saw no humans, just tables set up for an Octoberfest, and signs telling humans to stay out of the garden, which we did. Then onto Indiana, where we had a walk and sniff at Lincoln's boyhood home. We saw a tzu, but his humans didn't want to let us sniff, maybe because Frost was doing his tough pup bark thing. By the time we got to Illinois, it was raining, and our phone kept ringing with flood warnings, which is kinda annoying or maybe scary, tho we didn't see any flood in the dark so didn't feel scared at all. We trust our human to drive safe.

The next day in Chicago was windy and cold, but we and Frost had good zooms in the back yard. Just like when Frost dared me in Alexandria, I outran him. The only problem was that our human left us to go to the library, and she put the TV on some silly channel instead of the Ravens game. And the Ravens lost. And I couldn't blame our human for wearing the pink jinx jersey.

The next day was a little chilly while we waited in the car, but when we stopped at Costco for gas, two black standard poodles were in the car in front of us, so we had a teensy barkfast. The last couple of days have been perfect poodle weather, and yesterday we had a couple of walks with lots of admirers, and also sorta met a scardey poodle, so didn't want to sniff after Frost did his tuff pup bark. That got Frost laptime, but I had a reasonably pleasant sniff with his young packmate,.

So that's my news. Wags,

Tara.

Hi, Gracie! I've been thinking of you too, but our human wouldn't go online Sunday or yesterday neither. The weather here in Virginia has been totally poodlelicious. It was really hot for a while, and we had to stay home several times after hearing "too hot for pups", which I hate to hear. We even missed a trip to Richmond cuz of it. Anyhow, my human does lotsa watering in her garden, which is kinda boring. Today we went to a place and my human walked in circles while Frost zoomed and I supervised them both. Sometimes I just don't understand her. Then she finally let me go online. Go figure!

Anyhow, on Sunday, we had lotsa fun. We got our picture taken at church, and the priest told our human to bring us and come sit in the front row with the kiddoes, cuz our church is welcoming, which we of course already knew cuz we get admirers every Sunday when she comes out. This Sunday we had lots of admirers cuz Frost also decided to behave like a gentlepup. IMHO.

The day before we had a walk and sniff at Shirlington and it was Octoberfest and he was Mr. Tuff Pup. I at least had admirers. Frost hated the people who called us both cute, not recognizing his toughness, and he told them so. But there were no poodles and only a few smaller dogs and pups, so not lotsa good sniffs. One little chi pup was scared of us and the crowd and our human talked with his human and helped him get to the other side of the fence with his packmate.

We had lotsa god sniffs when we went to the pet blessing at the National Cathedral, and some interesting ones in the woods later. I had to put my paw down and get on top of my human's papers and tell her to go, cuz she wore the pink jinx jersey that I told her to get rid of and she only watched less than a quarter of the Ravens game while doing the paper thing. Meanwhile, the Steelers scored 16 points and the Ravens nada, nothing, zilch. Someone had to take action, so I did.

Anyhow, pet blessings are supposed to honor St. Francis. There's a statue of him in our church garden that even Frost thinks is OK,so he doesn't mark it or bark at it. My human says humans will also think about St. Francis tomorrow, and our church will do the pet blessing thing next Sunday.

Maybe your human will find a pet blessing tomorrow or Sunday. It's a really good place for sniffs. Sometimes other humans bring along interesting animals like birds or even a horse or sheep. The only problem is the priest with the water, cuz I don't like getting my fur wet, no way, no how. Frost doesn't mind the water, so long as the priest respects him first, and she did thank him for protecting his pack, so he was fine. Anyhow, we did see poodles and tzus, and one cat, and one white rat that I was tempted to sniff. Maybe we were a little late cuz of my human's dilly dallying, so we didn't notice any horses or birds, just lotsa dogs and pups, big and small all having a great time. Some were in full fur like us, but we didn't make fun of the pups wearing clothes or nothing. One pair of pups wearing clothes were really upset cuz their human kept them in a baby stroller, but she took them out and walked around after our human chatted, and they calmed down. OK, Frost did his tuff pup thing, mostly when we arrived and he noticed some big dogs, but then he calmed down and we got lotsa admirers and good sniffs. So that's our recommendation. Pet blessings are fun!

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Gracie--

Sorry to be so late replying. Frost and me were in Chicago, and then traveling, and then at home where our human hurt her back and didn't let us get to the computer. I'm not sure whether I like hot weather, but I hate hearing "too hot for pups", which means me and Frost gotta stay home instead of travel in the car with our human. But fersure the car gets hot when it's standing without A/C. I like A/C, and in the summer sometimes I lie down with my legs all flopped out if I find a good cool floor or grass. What I like even more is frozen suff, like our frozen chickie treats, and sometimes our human makes pupsickles with low sodium broth she calls it. The best might be the frozen twizzles, which our human boils then chops into pieces the size of her finger--its gnawtastic!

Gotta go now,

Wags,

Tara.

Hi tara! lick lick lick!

my name is Gracie! I'm a poodle puppy. I'm 9 weeks old. Mommy couldn't keep sophie. she scratched Mommy's arms and bit her. and she tore up every piece of paper she could find. Mommy said sophie was bored with her high energy and no other dogs or children to play with. So Mommy found a nice lady who's Apricot Toy Poodles had puppies. the lady wanted a yorkie so she could have yorkiepoos to sell. Mommy had really wanted a Poodle anyway. she says other than normal puppy energy, I'm great (blush).

mommy had a stroke because she wasn't. taking care of her diabetes. Luckily, she had no damage. she said it was scary and she was in the hospital for 10 days. she checks her sugar twice a day now and eats better.

Mommy is going to post some pics of me later.

nice to meet you Tara!

love Gracie

Hi, Pup pals, and happy Independence Day. The radio said yesterday was Canada Day, so I'm wishing our Canadian pups a great weekend kinda late. Our holiday is supposed to be in a couple of days, but it's my least favorite. Yesterday we were driving home and heard some boomers, and there was no thunder! OK, we did see one pretty sky thing, but I don't like boomers, at all. It helped a little bit that my human stopped by Sonic and gave me and Frost licks of a yumtastic shake. She says to make sure I tell everybody it was a small one, cuz she's gotten a little chunky what with her and me not posting much. I guess I'll just have to put my paw down!

Anyhow, it was so hot in Virginia that we drove to Illinois. I love the car's A.C. And last week we got to meet some friendly pups, and some not-so friendly ones (even before Frost barked at them). Frost wants Tinkerbell the maltese across the street to be his girl friend. His human won't let her out with him around, so she yaps a lot at the storm door if she can see my human. Frost once snuck out of the house and paid a visit, which got my human really angry and worried, cuz there are more cars in the street than at home, although there are also at least three other small white dogs besides us. We made friends with Bailey, who's a doodle and OK. But Tito and Frost both want to be number one. Oops, gotta go keep Frost away from the neighborhood skunkie.......

Wags to all,

Tara.

Glad to hear you're having easter fun!. I love bones too, but I don't have many teeth now, so I get softer yummies.

It's rainy here today, and yesterday too. Me and Frost had fun walks at Shirlington, but I mostly stayed inside or in the car. Frost doesn't mind wet fur top and bottom, but I sure do!

Momma bird came back yesterday to our porch. We had another short trip to Philadelphia last week and came back and all our bird pals were gone! We were really worried and bummed! But our neighbor said she thought the baby birds had flown off just after we left, and that one had come back to the nest the night before. So we looked. And waited. And looked again. Over the weekend we saw three mourning doves in our side yard, and hoped it was them. They were trying to tell us something, but our human doesn't understand bird. We hoped they would come back to the porch when the rain started Saturday, but they didn't.So we were happy to see the momma bird back on the plant pot at lunchtime and dinnertime too yesterday. I told our human not to disturb her, in case she has more eggs. Cuz we still see the grackles around.

That's it for now. Gotta tell our human to remember the emoticon

Wags,

Tara.

hi tara! I liked your picture story! Mommy says even I could read it even though I'm a puppy.

mommy gave me plastic Easter eggs to play with and roll around. I have a lot of toys though!

Mommy finally got some one to help her put my harness on so now I can go outside with a leash. it's so fun! every smell is new to me and I tasted grass for the first time. it was ok but I really liked the bone I found. Mommy snatched it right out of my mouth though! she watches me CONSTANTLY! I have to go under the couch for any sneaky stuff!

I hope everyone has some good treats!

emoticon Happy Easter Sophie! emoticon And to all my pup pals! emoticon

Yesterday, we had a nice walk at Fort Ward and saw a emoticon by a tree. No, Frost didn't mark by it. Our human just told the humans at the BBQ nearby not to forget it. The lady said they left it for their kiddo to find. No hunting emoticon emoticon for us.

This morning, we went over to Congressional Cemetery real early. There were lots of emoticon emoticon My human said over two dozen dogs, plus of course lots of humans. Frost barked a little, then he got laptime, and my human's fingers around his muzzle when he decided to try growling instead. Later, a human said the dogs seemed to coordinate their barks with the service. Me, I was respectful and got lots of admirers. And a couple of good sniffs too. Later, Frost got another walk at Monticello Park. He says he growled at some humans with cameras, which my human said were birders, which seemed kinda silly. Anyhow, I relaxed in the car. It was hot enough to lie with my legs up, which my human says is a sign we need more trimsies. I say no! Or at least not without chickie and licks of frostie and other yummies! emoticon emoticon

Anyhow, my big news is about emoticon Actually our birdies are a little more like emoticon Their moma bird built a nest in a pot by our front door, which my human thought was stupid cuz we got emoticon in the neighborhood, plus squirrels who think baby bird eggs yummy. Maybe the momma bird knew we would protect her. When the kitty came near our human, both me and Frost ran out and scared it away. And we can bark, of course.

We had to go to Philadelphia for a couple of days, and we were worried that the cats or nasty black grackles would kill our birdies. But when we got back, they were bigger, and momma bird still protects them both. She doesn't even mind our human watering the emoticon from the other side. So maybe she's real smart, or there's some emoticon emoticon watching emoticon and emoticon

Again, happy Easter! emoticon and Passover! emoticon and Spring! emoticon

Wags,

Tara.

Bark bark bark bark!!! sniff sniff sniff!

Hi ya'll! It's Sophie here! or as Mommy calls me, psycho Sophie because I'm always running and jumping and twirling and chewing and oh you know, puppy stuff!

I haven't been outside much at all, because I only weigh 3 lbs. and it's hard for Mommy to find a harness for me. She got one at Petsmart, but it was big enough that I just stepped out of it! Giggle! BUT, She ordered one from Amazon, a no choke harness, because my tiny neck is so fragile and she is afraid tht a regular harness comes up to high and I will have a crushed trachea, whatever that is. I see the outside when Mommy opens the door and I can't wait till I can get out in it!

I have lots of toys I chew on. Mommy says that's cause I cutting teeth. She says she has never seen a pup chew so much. Well, it hurts!!!!

Ok Mommy wants to go spin for points or something. I'll see ya'll later!

Hi, pup pals! emoticon

Yup, it's spring again! emoticon We just got back from a little walk to see the cherry blossoms, which sort of look like lots of tiny.white emoticon The news all week was almost a panic about the cold killing them or the wind blowing them down like snow. No siree. Ok, maybe the tidal basin wasn't quite as white as last year, and I definitely stepped in some puddles. We saw some emoticon too, but mostly lots and lots of people with emoticon Yup, me and Frost got our pictures taken. We also saw some other emoticon OK, Frost barked a bit, even at the nice two pups I let sniff me. They got scared, which wasn't very nice of tuffpup. He also marked more than me, which I didn't mind.

Hope all my pup pals are having fun!

Hi, Yeti! Hope you and Sophie are enjoying spring. emoticon

The weather's been crazy here in Virginia. One day it's totally poodelicious, the next day its HOT, then breezes ruffle our fur, then it's COLD. Yesterday, I had to wear clothes too. Well at least in the car waiting for our human to finish errands. Frost and me got our fur trimmed somemore than a week ago, cuz it was HOT, then it got cool again. We met a tzu that got his fur shaved and had to wear clothes Frost says he didn't have to wear clothes all winter cuz of his double bichon fur. Sometimes I think he gets a tad snotty with his tuff pup stuff.

Anyhow, we saw some snowflakes on Friday, and the news says we'll get more tonight. I'd rather inspect the daffodils than get into an argument with bichonboy. And bark together at other dogs. Not because of clothes, of course, but to protect our territory and human. Frost came back from a walk yesterday and said he had to snap twice at a young pup who tried to put paws on him while he was protecting our human. Our human said the youngpup didn't have poodlesmarts neither,

Frost last night also chased a varmint out of our back yard while our human brought in the laundry. My human says it was the possum, who's looking a little tubby, but still faster than bichonboy. I stayed snug on our couch, though I out-zoomed Frost in the afternoon to teach him a teensy lesson.

The weekend before, we went on a little history schmistory trip, and even camping in our car. I didn't need any clothes or blankets, just snuggled next to our human. Frost guarded the front seat. Our human said we would see some astronomy people from Richmond, but we didn't see them, just lots and lots of stars. In the morning, we went hiking and saw some deer and the morning sun over the James and Tye Rivers. The sniffs were the best part. OK, me and Frost also got a roll in the grass before breakfast. The most interesting poopie we found had fur in it (but not poodle or chi or bichon fur!). Our human says to call it "scat" cuz its from a predator, maybe an owl that ate some mice. Then we went to breakfast at McDonalds, which wasn't as good for my tummy as Ikea sausages (which are almost as yumtastic as the meatballs!). OK, I barfed, but felt much better by dinnertime, probably cuz of all the admirers at the church my human said and laughed. OK, it turned out the special blessing was just for hounds, including a young pup, but Frost behaved. We had admirers and sun on our fur, which is blessing enough, IMHO.

Anyhow, gotta go. Hope all my pup friends survived the time change!

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Sophie & Tara,

Boy Tara, it sure sounds like you've been real busy. You really have a way about telling a story. Hi little Sophie, sounds like there is no need for you to get used to your new home any more. I Hope to some day see your mommy again & meet you.
Meanwhile, hasn't it been gorgeous weather for the most part! I have been loving it, although
On some days like today,a North wind was blowing, mom has to make me wear a sweater (I hate clothes of any kind.) Well, the news & weather will be on soon. We don't watch the news, it's all who shot who, & little else, but mommy & I always watch the weather.
Puppy love,
Yeti

Ooh! I'm so glad to her about Sophie Maria! emoticon I was so sad to hear about April crossing the Rainbow Bridge, and thought I might be talking to myself here. You're so right about April not wanting her human or friends to be sad. Last week our human took us to to the shelter where Chloe was from, and dropped off some stuff. I saw signs about how this is adoption month or something, so I thought about making that suggestion, if it wasn't disrespectful or nothing. I met my human in February, and we celebrated Valentines day with snuggles and yummies. Lately, my human is doing too much matsie stuff, tho she's also giving us yummies after pulling our fur. She says we won't get big trims til at least March 1 or St. Paddy's day, in case winter comes again.

Anyhow, too bad she didn't log on here last week, instead of driving to Richmond and doing computer stuff. Actually, we had a good time on a short walk with the breeze ruffling our fur. She took pictures of the historical marker where Richmond surrendered, and what she called the first Daffydil. When we got home, our first crocus was blooming, so she said maybe the groundhog got his spring forecast wrong this year. Sounds fine to us.

The weather was even better over the weekend. We supervised her in the garden Saturday planting pansies and making two mulch trips. Sunday we took a history schmistory trip. We went to Montpelier, or really two Montpeliers. Frost marked in both the town and the plantation (and a few in-between church, courthouse and graveyard stops while I guarded our car). Our human was a little upset that her phone took us to the wrong Montpelier first, and that we were late for the tour she wanted to take at the right one. So we did our own, and got some admirers, and Frost told some big galoots that he is s real, tough dog. It was sunny and near perfect poodle weather, tho a little warm cuz we're in full fur so she refilled our water bottle! Plus nibbles of BBQ from the TasteeFreeze and later licks of frosty from Wendy's.

We didn't get to stop at Porkapalooza in between cuz she's had tummy problems for weeks and isn't supposed to eat spicy or greasy stuff. We learned about those problems at the Petsmart in Lancaster PA, where she stopped to get food for us and realized her tummy ache and poopie mess was too bad to drive to Chicago. We had been thinking of Maggie living nearby, and how she might've gone to that same store. No explorations of the Amish farm yet.

Yesterday's weather was poodelicious too. We did meet a nice doodle named Lucy at Shirlington in the afternoon. But my human was a little sicko, walking funny at Fort Ward in the morning and even cutting our Shirlington walk short and going to bed early after funny exercises. She said her back's acting up from the gardening, so only one President's weekend history schmistory trip.

We'd looking forward to hearing from Sophie Marie. Snickers the yorkie next door is a fine pup, tho he's older than me and his eyes aren't good. So, again, emoticon

Wags,
Tara

Thanks so much. I have a puppy. Her name is Sophia Maria (sophie) for short. what a coincidence! I forgot about your Sophie!

April the Poodle would not want me to be so sad. The new puppy is a Yorkie and is as smrt as April was. She is 6 weeks old and is learning at lightening speed. she already knows what I want her to do when I take her outside, but I let her get play time with leaves and sticks. She has mastered the puppy stairs, even though she is so tiny (2 lbs.) she has to really stretch her body on the stop step! Sophie will be in later to introduce herself. Thanks!

Love, Mary & Sophie
and April for ever

I'm so sorry to report that my beautiful baby, April the North Alabama Princess passed away December 21st. I couldn't even think about Christmas. I just stayed home and cried.

I will get another pup. Don't think it'll be a Poodle. there is only one April the Poodle, we all know that. I'll be back!

Love,
Mary

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my pup pals! emoticon Sorry not to write about the holiday yummies and all the pretty lights. Actually, we were glad not to hear fireworks! It's wet fur weather today, but we had nice walks yesterday in the sunshine and warm weather. We don't mind when our human goes to the gym cuz we get to show our tails at Fort Ward as her warmup or cooldown! We saw on TV that it's wet in most of the south, so I hope Yeti and April are staying dry. And that everyone got fun emoticon

It's winter, so I'm hoping we don't get any more nasty ice. A couple of weeks ago, even Frost agreed with me about ice, after he nearly couldn't get back into the house after insisting on visiting our back yard. OK, our human said she'd walk around the house to get him, cuz she was scared of falling on the ice and would've broken the wimpy stair rail. She was kinda funny walking down our front stairs that morning holding the side rail like dad. I got down without any real problems and did my business, then used my doodle smarts and stayed inside the rest of the day (our human has some special white mats in the basements for such emergencies). It melted by the next morning, so we both showed our tails, of course.

Rain stopped some people and pups, and even a party at Shirlington. We missed the pretty emoticon lights that icy night, and another couple when it was real cold, but we've seen them lots most since, even the Hanukkah emoticon .

Now, I'm hungry. I gotta tell my human it's Ikea time.

Wags and happy new year to all,

Tara.

Hi, Yeti!

Glad to hear from you, and that you had a yummy Thanksgiving. emoticon Our human went to a potluck at church, so we got a few bits later, but don't have a lot of yummy leftovers. She did bring back part of a drumstick emoticon and we got a little gristle and a little meat each, as well as our normal dinner. Then she boiled some pizzles she bought at the grocery story. Me and Frost each got a piece as big as our front leg after she brushed us. Wow was that yumtastic! Only trouble, sort of, was that the Cowboys (who beat our Ravens Sunday) beat the Redskins on TV as we gnawed away.

Yesterday, we knew there was more good stuff in the fridge, so we didn't eat the new dog food she wanted us to try, til we gave up and had the yucky stuff as a midnight snack. I hope she got the message and won't get it again. Our human also said something about maybe giving Frost pumpkin if his poopie problem continues today. She says maybe the pizzle was too big for his digestion. He says no way. I of course will volunteer to gnaw any extra!

Well, I was thankful my front leg felt better. We had a pup adventure in Warrenton in the cold wind Sunday. Even people from that church just hurried past our car, which got sick when we got home, my human said. Our human took some pictures, and said we might go back sometime, when she remembers to bring her longer coat. Me and Frost didn't mind the wind, since we're both in full fur. Plus, we met two nice Norfolk terriers, who were walking their human.

Anyhow, I hurt my paw tangling on Frost's leash when we jumped out in Gainesville to visit the Petsmart. My human noticed I wasn't using my front right paw, and felt it and said it was probably a sprain. I didn't mind being carried while Frost explored a bit. Then he barked because he wanted to be Top Dog too. So he got a lift at the register--and then was attitude pup after she put him down to walk to our car. At home too, she put me on the couch and told me to stay put while she got some stairs that she said Cleo or Chloe used. She didn't like me jumping down right onto that paw, so after supper she trimmed all my paws and gave me a yummy. She also said that if I didn't let my paw rest overnight, we would have to go to the vet tomorrow. I got the message all right. She also slept with me on the couch to make sure I didn't jump off. I curled up on the top cushion by her head and had a nice nap. I felt much better in the morning, and made sure she noticed I was using all four paws as I walked and sniffed and did my business outside.

We went to the car place after breakfast. The mechanic said a check engine light meant our car was sick, but he didn't want us to wait with her. So she left us at home and didn't come back for hours. The next day the light came on again as we drove around getting stuff for the potluck, and she decided to go back to the gym because of the stress. We liked walking around Fort Ward as her cooldown. No, we didn't see any ghosts from the graveyard there either, tho now it gets dark pretty darned early.

We got another fun walk there before the Thanksgiving potluck too, with only a couple of big dogs for Frost to bark at. A yorkie girlpup barked at us both too, thinking she's protecting her human I guess. Anyhow, our human's been real careful with our leashes lately, and sometimes lifts us down from the car now before our walks. But I feel tip top again. Yesterday the security guard at Shirlington who likes us a lot took our picture, saying our full fur looked great. She says the guy fixed our car yesterday morning, but we'll see.

Wags and yums emoticon to all our pals,

Tara.

P.S. Frost wishes everyone a nice roll in the leaves. emoticon He and Elvis like that, so maybe it's a boypup thing. I'll let my human rake and keep my fur clean, thank you very much. emoticon

emoticon Happy Thanksgiving to all my poodle friends & their peeps,
I Hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mommy got up kind of early yesterday morning
& cooked our chicken and green beans in the slow cooker it had to cook for five and a half hours hours. She put two onion halves on the bottom then the green beans and the chicken. I did not see what went in afte that but I think she had Turkey necks on the table and garlic. She let me eat a little of everything today. Except she had pumpkin pie for desert and told me that I could not have any. But she ended up giving me some licks of the pie filling, and later she let me pick her desert plate. Then we both got in I her chair and took a nap.
Mom and I really enjoy a quiet day.
I hope that you all enjoyed the day wether with family or friends or quietly, like us.

Great to hear from you, Yeti, and emoticon if I haven't said so before. This morning a detective came to our house. After Frost stopped barking at him, he said a house on the block had been burgled last night. We never heard of that before. Then my human took us out to talk to the other detective, cuz we didn't know if Keeper the big pup (who used to be our size but now is lots bigger than us, tho still a silly young pup) was home. We heard she was, and barked, but her humans didn't pay attention, and they didn't meet the burgler either. So no one was hurt, and it turns out one lady who lives there that we met on our early walk didn't tell us neither. We haven't seen anyone from that house all afternoon and evening, but then we only see Keeper once in a while.

Anyhow, me and Frost didn't hear nothing, and the guy right next door to her house didn't hear anything either, probably because Junior the pit bull pup wasn't visiting. If someone comes to our house, we bark. Although sometimes our human is really tired and doesn't get up, especially like last night when we had to bark for our evening treat cuz she fell asleep early without walking us. So I went downstairs to do my business, like when it's wet fur weather. Sometimes Frost stays downstairs by the front door and window to watch if I'm upstairs with our human. So that's our big news.

Now, I'm getting excited about Turkey Day too. Our human gives us gristle too, which is really yummy. She won't let us have bones, though dad used to cheat when she wasn't looking.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi, April.

I'm sure glad that election is over, though we haven't been watching much TV 'cuz my human says she's real busy and has left us home with the TV shut off. We even missed the Ravens game Thursday, though we were glad to hear they won again. No more jinx!

Yesterday we were a little scared cuz our car was in an accident after she went to Microcenter again. Then it smelled bad and the tow truck guy wouldn't let us with him and our human, so we just said poodle prayers and got home safe. My human said it was worse for the other humans though the accident was her fault cuz she turned without seeing their car, cuz they had stuff inside their car the police said was illegal. No wonder they didn't admire us at all!. Anyhow, we got treats when we got home, but I think our human was worried. We woke her up twice, cuz some people were outside on the sidewalk. The second time we took a walk, she couldn't go back to sleep, so she did computer things, then we got into our other car in the cold and dark. There was even frost of the wet kind, so I understood why she brought some of her plants inside on our first walk.

Then the sun came out, and we were on a history schmistory trip in Virginia in Perfect Poodle Weather! Yippee! This place has a strange name, Orange, It's Sunday and our human's wearing purple of course, but it says James Madison and not Ravens. We saw pretty orange and yellow pansies in the park, along with lots of American flags, which of course aren't orange, but red, white and blue. Some leaves are orange too. Our human took a silly picture of us by the LOVE statue, which is not orange but kinda green modern metal with a big old wheel and iron flowers and some kind of Constitution stuff. We heard and saw a real long train go by, which was a little like Glenview, where she said we should be, 'cept for the work she hasn't finished, so she says this has to be a real teensy history schmistory trip. Whatever.

The sun's out and the people, well, they're real friendly. I had to bark at our human to take us out for the second time to meet admirers by one of the pretty churches. Come to think of it, I've barked more than Frost today. I think the boypup may be on his best behavior 'cuz we heard a pup bark, and she sounded small. Love puppy, LOL! Anyhow, my human says we'll come back soon, which will be real nice.

Anyhow, on election day we went to Philadelphia cuz my human needed to pick up a ladder and do other stuff,. But she changed cars at the last minute and couldn't find some tools in the dark, so we drove back without the ladder, which suited me and Frost just fine. We got to show our tails in our favorite parks. Frost escorted our human in the Italian market, but he was mostly doing his tuff pup thing. My human was playing mostly music as she drove, but she switched stations when in Delaware, cuz she couldn't find a good parking space in Philly for overnight. I think she was shocked, but switched back to music after she shared some yums, including licks of froyo. Then we just napped in the car

I'm hoping for a few more stops in the sunshine.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!

Mommy says that computers can make you want to tear your hair out sometimes. I hope she doesn't do that! I bet her head would get cold this winter! Plus, her hair is long and I like to sniff it when I'm sitting on the back of the couch on my blankie.

Mommy was up all last night watching that election stuff. Not me! I was snuggled into my blankie snoozing away! I don't understand that stuff, except the people on TV sounded shocked and upset about what ever was going on.

Mommy is going to the store in a little while. It's not one that we can go to, although I heard some people talking about therapy dogs that can go anywhere even to restaurants. I'm not sure I'm a therapy dog, but Mommy says that dogs are good therapy for people. She says when they pet us, their blood pressure goes down and they relax more.

Well it's almost dinner time. Mommy said that turkey day is almost here! YAY I love turkey and other stuff that they cook on that day too! I'll be dreaming about that!

Poodle kisses,

Love,

April emoticon emoticon

Hi, April.

I thought of you and your mommie when the TV said the Alabama football team won yesterday. The TV also said some pipeline in Alabama got fixed, which is good news for gas prices or something.

Frost and me are happy today that the Ravens won, and that Joe Flacco did not get hurt. We were supposed to be driving west, and I told my human that I would rather watch the game. Well, this morning she woke up and her computer would not finish starting. It was real early 'cuz of the time change she said, and when we walked to do our business outside we saw a lady and a man waiting for the bus by the park. So my human and Frost walked up to then and after Frost growled a little to show how tough he is, then he said they chatted about the time change. The lady looked over and admired me too.

Then we went inside and napped before church. After church, Frost showed some big dogs in the park how tough he is. We didn't get to go to Ikea, which was kindof a bummer. Instead, our human went home and tried her computer again, and the same thing happened. So we went to Microcenter though the game was just starting. Once a couple of years ago, the fixit guy liked poodles and wanted to meet me, but now we heard he's the manager of the Baltimore store, and we were still in Virginia. So Frost and me alternated watches at the back window. She finallly came out with a box. We listened to the game on the radio on the way home, but she made stops. After the first one, the announcer said Joe Flacco went to the locker room and could be hurt, so I worried even though our human was wearing purple, white and black.

Turns out no jinx, and we saw Joe play when we got home, though we worried again as the Steelers scored another touchdown. Our human went upstairs and said the old computer still wouldn't boot. Finally, she finished setting up the new machine, and we saw it didn't start right neither.

Our human did not look or sound happy. Not at all. We did not like being left home when she did the return, and told her so, but she left without us anyway. She came back with just a little bag, and after we had dinner she did laptop backups, then went upstairs and tried the old machine again. She was gone so long I had to check it out, and saw it start on the third try. Luck of the poodle, I say, though I would've preferred to bring the luck earlier. Such a beautiful day and only a couple of teensy walks for us all.

Plus, my human also seems upset about her laptop, something about nearly being out of disk space or something. To me, a lot of humans seemed upset all day. We stopped at McDonalds for a teensy snack, and saw an upset guy a few cars away campaigning for Trump. And after Microcenter, we stopped at a stoplight and a different guy was walking around with anti-Trump posters. Me and Frost just snuggle between the cushions when we see negative ads on TV. Our human was also upset about new signs in the road by us, especially ones about Virginians not voting for corruption. She said probably the most corrupt people put those up, cuz they wrote their company in type too small for anyone in a car to read. We sure couldn't.

She was much happier yesterday, cuz we met a cute poodle pup named Rudy, six months old I think. And she said she met another poodle pup today on the other side of the church when she was planting flowers, but she didn't get us til after he and his humans and maltese pal had left, which was kinda a bummer. All I can say is that we poodles have our work cut our for us in these next few days.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara!

Yep Mommy is a poopie checker and collector too! she always wants to see it. she says there may be worms or something else nasty in it. as for me, I think it's nasty that she is looking at it! Giggle!

ALSO! twice a year I'll just be minding my own business first thing in the morning and when I squat to pee, she slides something right under me and I pee in it. She immediately puts a lid on it and takes it to the vet. GROSS! Pee riding around in her purse. And her LIPSTICK is in there too. But I heard someone say, why don't you let the vet get the pee and then you don't have to do that gross stuff. My Mommy told that old nosy lady that the way they get the pee is they stick a needle in the kidney and draw it out! WHAT???? No way! you just keep right on doing it Mommy and thank you so much.

than I found out that the reason she dies the poopie thing is they would stick a little spoon in my butt! NO WAY!!! Mommy told that old nosy lady that I'm a virgin, whatever that is. If it means no things in my butt or kidney, I'm all for it!

Yes Mommy is a HUGE Alabama fan. she doesn't have any Alabama clothes except for one pair of sweat pants and it's still too hot for those. We probably will have our air condish on til December.

Mommy's face looks better now. Did I tell you about her falling in the shower? she bought some in shower lotion. you shower, then rinse off, add the lotion and then rinse it off. it made the bath tub really slick. she didn't have any handicap bars so she splatted her face right on the spigot. her whole face was black and blue. now all she has is a huge knot on her right eyebrow. but she does have some really good safety bars now though.

Alabama is playing LSU (Louisiana) and Mommy says it's a grudge match whatever that is, because our coach Saban used to be the coach for LSU and they are still mad at him for leaving. we don't care though. I'll be snoozing in between Mommy's screams and jumping around.

Well it;'s lunch time!

Poodle Kisses

Hi, April. Glad to hear you had a great Halloween, and I'm sure you looked fantastic in Ginger's dress.

It's been cooler here than by you. I think it's perfect poodle weather, 'cept that today's cloudy and I think rain's coming. Saturday in Shirlington we saw a couple of dogs with colored fur, and quite a few kids. We didn't wear clothes, and I at least appreciated our admirers. Our human took us to show our tails way before the big trick or treat thing, and then again after the crowds. She said she didn't want Frost to misbehave. He did bark a lot at first, and even lunged at a couple of dogs wearing clothes. I think he just wanted laptime to show he's a top dog, cuz later he calmed down.

Yesterday, he had to wear his pumpkin T-shirt, but my human let me just show my own fur without dressing up. She also dropped off coupon books for the neighborhood kids. We took a drive again while they were trick or treating, cuz Frost doesn't like costumes much. Me I don't like her messing with out matsies, especially since unlike Frost I stayed clear of the burr plants. At least we got two chickie yummies each -- Saturday, Sunday and Monday too! Yippee!

We also went looking for ghosts Sunday and yesterday. Sunday we went to the Manassas battlefields and heard about the battles. First we went to the battlefield where 5000 humans died in July 1862. No ghosts, but we did get admirers. Actually, my human dropped off some of Frost's poopie at the vet's before we got there, and there were a couple of nice pups there early with us, but Frost started his attitude pup thing as soon as the big dogs arrived. I was supposed to poop too, but didn't walking around at the vet's, so she said I just needed a longer walk. No problem. I just sniffed at the deer and other interesting poopie in the fields, and left my mark but not poopie, if you know what I mean. She's sometimes silly about poopie, like taking some bags somebody else filled in the park, well she carried them all the way back to the trash.

Anyway, after that, we went back to the crowd and chilled and listened. The tour guy said 25,000 men died at the second battle, which included the first area and some more, (and 25000 men in 12 hours at the Antietem battlefield we visited in the summer). Well, we lapped up some water and she drove to the Confederate graveyard, and then to that second battlefield. By then, I was a little tired, and the temp was above 70, so she rolled down the windows and II watched the car while Frost guarded our human while she took pictures of the signs. He said they met some nice people, but no ghosts. Then we stopped at another hill, where 130 New York soldiers died. We met a goldendoodle and her pal, with wet paws from a swim somewhere nearby (that I'm glad our human didn't investigate). Again no ghosts. So then we drove over to the old railroad station, and a special park that used to be a school for african american kids, with special bricks and stuff. There was a school on the other side of the parking lot too, but no kiddies cuz it was Sunday. No ghosts either. I haven't decided if the best part was getting licks of frosty before we drove home, or stopping at the yuppie puppie store to restock on chickie.

Anyhow, a few times last week, our human watched baseball on TV. We thought it was boring, so we napped, and (just between us pups) a couple of times she napped too. The TV guys talked about some Billy Goat curse or something, but we didn't see any goats on TV, or even cows Sunday, so I really don't know what they were talking about. I think curses are something like jinxes, so I told our human about jinxes.

I told her she must've jjinxed the Ravens the last few weeks by wearing her pink Joe Flacco jersey, cuz everybody knows the Ravens colors are purple and white, not pink. He didn't do real good, and we watched the Ravens lose too. So she didn't wear it Sunday, but the Ravens didn't play neither, so I don't know it it did any good. I also told her real polite-like that her Cubs lost 3 times when she wore her Cubs sweatshirt, so she put it in the wash and, presto, the Cubs won Sunday.

Does your human do Alabama anti-jinx things? I heard your football team is real good. But gotta go now, my human says we gotta drop off my poopie before the vets closes.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara! Wag Wag!!

It's been cool in the mornings here but really still high 80's and 90's in the afternoons. We stay in during that time.

There is a man next door that I really like and every time I see him I run as fast as I can to see him. Actually I'm really trying to get Mommy to like him too. She says he is tacky cause he wears flip flops and socks. who cares, he is really nice. I'm sneaky though I'll get them together.

We had some cute kids for trick or treat last night. Mommy is throwing the rest of the candy away cause she thinks I might get it. who, ME? giggle!! I wore Ginger's dress that her Mommy sent me from Mobile Alabama after she went to the rainbow bridge. she looked just like me too.

Well we are at work. Mommy lets me sit in a chair next to her when she is typing and visa versa when it's my turn.

I hope everyone has a good bunch of treats today!

Love
April

Hi, April.

That food sound nummy. I love the cooler weather too.

Trouble is, our human's been too busy, so I hope she can get her work done so we can resume poodle adventures! Our human's taking an Ikea break, and we don't mind, cuz we know we'll get nibblies. Thing is, she's been real busy looking for some papers (that Elvis and Frost and me didn't really mess up that bad), and writing and scanning and fixing her computers that are misbehaving lots. Our weather was poodelicious from Sunday afternoon all through yesterday, but we mostly had to stay inside (and supervise and snooze) while she worked.

Did your human take you to pet blessings last Sunday? Our human did. Twice. She called it ecumenical, cuz it was about St. Francis, who she and the priests say was ecumenical, or just a nice guy who liked people and pets and everything. Anyhow, the first one was at the Lutheran church we pass in our car lotsa times. One of the beagles down the street was just leaving with her human, and Frost barked a bit. We got blessed, and our human chatted with pastor Anna about the Northern Neck, where we visited a few times this last summer and met lotsa nice people, and about the National Cathedral, where we've visited before too. Then a guy came with some turtles and she blessed them too, but our human wouldn't let us sniff too close cuz they were in a box with poopie that she said could make us sick.

Anyhow, we also got a blessing at our church, and I was surprised cuz Frost was quiet, 'cept for an intro woof as we left our car. He said he was disappointed cuz there were no birds to sniff. My human joked that the turnout was a little light not because the sun finally came out and the wet fur weather barely stopped, but because the Redskins game hadn't finished. We were a little disappointed, though, that when we got back to our car, we learned that while the Redskins won, our Ravens lost at the very end. Was going to that pet blessing a jinx? They were doing so good...

At the blessing we met Kaspar, a white terrier with a bloody ear, and learned he got bit by another shelter pup (a spaniel terrier mix so no poodle smarts) who got taken into the parking lot to watch from further away. That pup's sister is a shelterpoodle named Lemon, I think. We didn't get to introduce ourselves proper cuz her human lady kept her in laptime, cuz she said there were too many dogs around and the crazy pup thought he was defending his packmate, instead of just meetinganother friendly pup. Sigh. All I know is that I didn't see what happened.

Yesterday evening, she took another break before our late supper. We walked at Fort Ward, which is always a good place to show our tails and meet admirers, though not so many as at Shirlington, which is still my fave. We met the bitten dog, and Kaspar was doing just fine. Turns out he got two blessings too on Sunday, though I was too busy to hear where the other blessing place was. After polite sniffs, he ran off to chase a squirrel up a tree. I did that too on Monday lunchtime in our back yard, cuz no matter what St. Francis said about all creation being good, some of us know squirrels are varmints that need chasing.

The news says we're supposed to get more rain this weekend, which is kinda a bummer. The news says its much worse in Haiti and the Bahamas (which are islands we've never visited), so we're saying poodle prayers. Now the news says the hurricane will hit Florida, Georgia and South Carolina (which my human says are further down I-95, though again we've never visited).

I'm just hoping she gets her work done so we can do some more exploring, cuz fall has lotsa poodelicious weather. She says the Shirlington library has some backpacks for exploring Virginia parks, which might be lotsa fun. She also says we gotta go to Philadelphia and to Chicago, where we know there are lotsa fun pups.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara! Wag Wag Wag!!! Sniff Sniff!

Sorry about you losing more teeth. Mommy thinks that's why I'm refusing to eat any hard food and only fresh pet, which she calls special baby food. She mainly calls it that because I used to only get it once or twice a week, but now I demand it before I'll eat anything! It's nummy to my tummy.

Mommy can't have them put me to sleep to clean my teeth or take out any bad ones till it's an emergency because of my bad heart. But I'm not hurting and every now and then I pull out one of my hard foods to chew on when she isn't watching! HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Shhhh don't tell!

Well tomorrow it's supposed to go down to the fifties in the morning and only in the low 80's in the after noon. that is wayyyy better than the 97 degrees it was yesterday. Maybe I can get back to walking now that it's cooling off. Mommy can't take the heat and really neither can I. I'd rather snooze under the air and the fan.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Poodle Kisses!
April

Hi, Yeti, and April and Silver. Sorry to have been gone so long. It's been a crazy hot summer, but last night was poodleliciously cool.

Anyhow, I went to the vet a few months ago and lost some more teeth, including one of my fangs. It didn't hurt lots like the last time, though. Elvis was visiting and said I still looked great. Then when he went home, my human found a new nummy treat for me. Actually, she made it when Elvis was still visiting, but said we had to wait til my mouth healed. She calls it frozen pizzles, which she got at the store and boiled (which smelled way good) then chopped up and froze. I can still gnaw, and it did cool me down some in the summer.

Fersure my human's been busy, and I hate to hear "it's too hot for pups" before she leaves us home. Since the month began she's been exercising. Her gym's near Fort Ward and so we get a walk and then she works out. Trouble was last week that she parked in a shady place around 6pm, but it was near the door so bichonboy barked at everybody. Then a police car came and my human came out and took us to meet the nice officer and then animal control came and told my human to leave us home when she works out. She said at least she didn't get a ticket, though the guy parked in front of our car texting on his phone all through the time was pretty weird, so Frost barked at him. He says he's the fink. Or the DC black mustang that did a driveby. I don't know.

My human's still having problems with sleazy real estate people, and her mail, and her phone and her computer. She says uncle Tony and his friends might be part of the worst problem, especially after a nasty letter that she got after out trip to Glenview, and some phone messages last week before days of computer problems. All I know is that it makes my head spin.

Wags and apologies again,

Tara

Hi Yeti! Wag Wag Wag!

I did love my BooBoo! Mommy used to take your Mommy to walmart and BooBoo and I would crawl up on Mommy's chest and look at her as long as we could but she would be singing to us and we would both fall fast asleep until Your Mommy got back. Those were really good times! I love Aunt Deb Sooooo much!

Yes Mommy says it will cool off in a few weeks and we can start walking again. Mommy wouldn't take me for walks in the 100 degree weather. plus she said the road would burn my little tiny paws! Ouch! So this summer I've just been with my Mommy who is my best friend and watching tv and having treats and belly rubs!

Have a good day Yeti!

Yes we did have a good time Silver loved to play and run with Annie. His back leg looks great and healed and he wasn't limping at all. He had some damage to his tendon to his left rear leg. Annie went home with him mom yesterday, We enjoy having her over to spend some time together. Thanks for you reply !

Hi Yeti!! Wag Wag!! Sniff sniff!! I saw your cute picture that your Mommy posted. You are a cutie! (blush)

How are you liking your new home? Your Mommy is nice. We've met before, you know. When she had BooBoo me and Mommy used to drive to Birmingham to visit.

Today is my human sister's birthday. she is 43. She had a heart attack last week and we were scared! Mommy and I drove very fastly down to Birmingham. But Mommy had to let me stat at my sister's house because they don't allow pups at the hospital! Well I Never!! I'm probably better groomed that most of the people in there!

We haven't done any walking lately. Mommy and I go out in the yard early in the morning and I lay under the tree and watch the neighborhood. Just kicking back as Mommy likes to say.

Well I have to go. Mommy wants her turn on the computer.

Love,
April

Lately I have been talking to some new friends on facebook.
Mommy says it is called the I love my Chihuahua club, and the group
is very large. But today, before I got on,or for that matter
before most people from the U. S. Got on, a human got
very rude and was asked to leave the club. We have never
Had that happen in our club. Have we? But all us Chihuahua's
are nice to each other, we get along just fine. I think that humans
Could learn some things from their pets! Like manners and other
things, to name a few things.
Well, gota go see what my other friends are doing. Hope the humans
have not been acting like bad children again.

I will miss you pretty kitty. My Poodle prayers are with you Aunt Deb. I know it's so hard.

I had to go to the vet the other day and get a shot in my butt!! then Mommy let them stick a thermometer in my butt, THEN the drained my anal glands and they do it from the inside! My butt is very hurty now! why does everything at the vet have to do with my butt? I feel violated! I'm a virgin, leave my butt alone!

Sorry I had to get that out of my system. I had food poisoning because I ate something I wasn't supposed to. The man next door feeds the critters his left overs and I ate some pork that had been out in the hot son for a day or two. boy was I sick. Mommy had to carry me outside to do my numbers. I threw up about 5 times and that's why I got the shot. nausea.

Oh well no more sneaking bites behind the house. Mommy is mad cause it cost her a lot of money!

Poodle Prayers for Aunt Deb

Thanks for your prayers Tara and frost. Prayers always help everything. Yes Mommy says that I will be going to the Rainbow Bridge Soon. I think that most kitties in my position Would be afraid, but I don't have to be, mommy rarely ever leaves me except to go to church or the grocery. Being with her makes me feel better. I just wish something could make Mommy not afraid for me.

Hi, LingLing! So good to hear from you! And I'm so sorry about your breathing problems and sad mommy. Me and Frost are saying poodle and bichon prayers for you. The TV says cancer is very bad and expensive. Lots of pups who get it cross the Rainbow Bridge, like BooBoo (who you've probably heard about) and my pal Chloe. Then they're supposed to be happy and healthy, but I don' know. I think kitties cross the Rainbow Bridge too, and you'll know in a few weeks. But Frost just barked so I've gotta go.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi poodle pals,
Gee, it has Been a long time. How is everybody? April, Happy belated birthday.
Mom took me to the vet last Wed. because she said she thought I was breathing funny. Dr.Ruth took me to ex-ray, she took pictures of my chest and then showed mom my ex-rays and had a long talk with mommy. For some reason, mommy was crying.I Wondered what Dr Ruth could have told her? Later, mommy told me - Dr. Ruth told her that I have cancer. Mommy said we have only a few more weeks together. What is cancer? Why does mommy cry so much?

Kitty kisses, emoticon

PS mom does not understand this new mobile sparks thing. She said that she may not remember how to get back.

Hi Tara!

The only bones I ever had was abut a month or two ago, Mommy at some chicken and then fell asleep watching tv so I sneaked those bones off the plate and ate them. Boy did I get my bottom dusted for that one! Mommy said I could have killed myself, but they were sure yummy!

Have a good weekend!

Hi, April. So good to hear from you, tho it's sad when our humans get sick, and especially when they're away for days... So we're saying lots of poodle prayers.

Me and Frost got a little SPRING FEVER on Easter. Our human took us for a drive in Virginia, with some history schmistory stuff. We did not mess with the eggs that the kiddies grabbed on their easter egg hunts. We thought the best grass was at a place where our human talked history with another lady, and about poison ivy and how dad once got it from Chloe, which is kinda sad and boring too. We liked rolling in the grass. Frost did another roll yesterday in a park while I napped cuz it rained the night before and I didn't need to get my fur muddy.

Funny thing is, over the weekend we met a pair of dogs at Shirlington who looked just like us, but the boypup looked a little like me (but with muddy paws and belly) and the girlpup looked like Frost with a shaved muzzle. But we didn't get to really introduce ourselves, cuz their human came out of the coffeeshop and ran with them across the street. Our human didn't seem to mind, cuz she told us to hurry up and back to our car....

I liked the admirers more. One of the nicest people we met, though, wouldn't pet us on Sunday, cuz she said other customers might be upset since they couldn't see her wash her hands afterward. My human said that showed she was a real considerate person, and bought some honey, which isn't as nice as the lamb bones we got the last two Sundays. Talk about yumtastic!

Gotta go now, tho.

Wags,

Tara.

Hi Tara!

Mommy was in the hospital for a week, so I've been at my human sister's house for a while. She doesn't believe in pups using her computer either! can you imagine?

Mommy is some better now. I'm glad to be home with Mommy though. Mommy said her sugar went up to 800. she passed out in the floor and I couldn't wake her up no matter how much I licked her face and hands! But my human brother came when no one had heard from Mommy and they called the ambulance who took her to the hospital.

Mommy went to the doctor today because her feet and hands are really swelled. She gained 11 lbs in just 14 days! That's 6 more lbs than what I weigh!! The doctor got some blood work on her and he is sending her to have a sonar on her heart! But the doctor thinks that the extra fluid weight she is carrying around is because of all the fluids that she got in the hospital. So I'll update ya'll when we find out something more! Poodle Prayers please!

Love,
April

Hi, pup pals! And a special hello to young pup Phoebe, whose picture with her first poodlecut I just saw this morning. Welcome. emoticon And we'd like to hear from you too!

Yup, it's been nearly a month since anyone's chatted here, so I guess everyone's been busy. Me and Frost have been trying to chase away the winter, or at least the cheeky black squirrel digging holes in our human's pots and munching in our backyard. We got trimsies too, but not the full trimmed muzzle look like Phoebe. Not that there's anything wrong with it. Certainly it's less messy licking ice cream and other yummies like we got after our long walk. Our human gave some of our winter fur to the birdies who are starting to make nests now.

Anyhow, we've recovered from our history schmistory walk in Richmond yesterday in the poodelicious weather. We loved the pretty flowers, and lots of admirers too. Several told our human how well behaved we were. Yup, that's right -- a long walk and no lap timeout even for Frost. OK, our human was a little peeved when we barked at a apricot (chocolate?) standard poodle when we walked up to the Capitol nearly at the end, probably cuz she wanted to chat with his human instead of catching up with our very nice history group that cut through the sightseeing bus line.

Well, when we got home, she even looked up the Governor's dogs to make sure that we weren't being rude to a Very Important Dog. Well, it turns out the internet says the governor's dog is named Daisy (yup, the same name the shelter tried to give me long ago). She looks lots like us, not like that big poodle, so we didn't cause a political problem or nothing. Woof! Besides, we're Important Dogs too, and that big dog needed to hear that we're tough.

Wags to all,

Tara.

Oopsie. We heard on the radio about the horrible ice and snow in Colorado yesterday and going up to Canada. Seems winter's not done everywhere. The radio says we might get some rain tonight, but we can stay cozy inside. We're saying poodle prayers that our pals are all safe and warm.

Hi, April. Glad to hear from you, and sorry about your getting no bites after the parade. At our parade, the sub shop lady was giving out mini subs, and my human got one, but didn't share after we got back to our car. No fair!

Actually, she's been pretty good sharing breakfast sausages with us for Lent, which starts right after Mardi Gras. The problem is she's getting more sandwiches without meat, so no chance of shares there. But we restocked with chicken yummies at the yuppie puppy shop yesterday, so that's OK. Actually, it might've been the day's best part, cuz it was a wet fur day, and the day before too. Plus last night we said poodle prayers for all the pups caught in the nasty tornados in southern Virginia, and in the snow storm in Chicago and Indiana. Oh, my!

Anyhow, on Monday afternoon we had lots of fun, tho we also got a teensie tired, and only got the Lent sausages as yummies. We went to Mount Vernon, which was the farm of George Washington a very long time ago. The weather was poodlelicious (Frost says bichontastic), and after our human finally found a parking spot, we got lots of admirers. Turns out Mt. Vernon is free on George Washington's birthday, or maybe President's Day. One lady said it's now free only on President's day, which was the Monday before, when we were all slip sliding on the ice in the morning, and staying inside most of the afternoon to keep out fur dry. Anyway, probably nobody came out, or they decided to be nice and have another free day this Monday, which was the First President's real birthday.

We saw cows, and sheep and a few other dogs. One lady said most of George Washington's dogs were hunting dogs, and they haven't excavated or rebuilt the kennels, which were down the hill by the Potomac river, maybe so the people in the house couldn't always hear the howlers. We also visited Washington's tomb, which was kinda crowded, and the slave memorial, which had a ceremony and a couple of people talked how slaves back then were chattel just like dogs, which wasn't nice at all. The guide lady told us that George Washington's niece Nelly had a Cavalier King Charles spaniel when she lived in the big house as a girl, but we didn't see any spaniels there, or any pictures of them, though we've met them at Shirlington and in Alexandria. I wondered whether that spaniel came with Nellie to Arlington House, which is in the big cemetery by our house, but we didn't talk to the guides when we were there last summer.

We met a nice maltipoo named Wallace over by the old tomb and kennels, and again by the garden, where our human took pictures of what she said were the first crocuses of the spring. Frost sort of behaved, or at least Wallace was a little scared of bichonboy at first and hid behind his human, then wanted to play a hide-a-poo game with Frost, who wasn't interested. In between we introduced ourselves politely, of course. Turns out Wallace just came from California, where it was 70 degrees. That's why he was wearing a grey coat, when almost every other pup was in his or her own fur. Yes, we met another pup in clothes, sort of. Well, the tzu named Lovely I think never got out of her stroller or buggy or whatever over by the snoozing cows, so we never could sniff and introduce ourselves proper. She seemed OK, but I'd be hot under both a coat and a blanket in what my human said was 60 degree weather. I hope her humans brought a water bottle like our human.

Yes, Frost got a laptime out, for barking lots at a wiemeramer (I don't know how its spelled, but it was a lot bigger than him of course). I think he didn't mind a bit, cuz then other humans said he was cute standing with his front paws on our human's shoulder. OK, he did bark at a few other dogs, and my human kept him away from the dachshund and other dog that Wallace was visiting, tho she talked to one of his humans about the crocuses and snowdrops (which are actually flowers, though in a few places around the parking lot we saw some ugly dirty snow from that storm weeks ago--and Frost just had to mark it). Lots of humans noticed me and admired me with all my four paws on the ground, and not the mud, if you know what I mean.

Well, that's it for now. I hope spring is coming for all my poodle and doodle pals, and Ling Ling too, of course.

Wags,

Tara.
