'I'm starting to feel better now that I'm back on program. It amazes me that I keep giving up because I really feel so much better when I'm and eating healthily and walking regularly. I have a log term goal now so I think that might help keep me on track.

REDROSEBUD4- sorry to hear that, your best bet is to make the best of it, make some soup, try a new recipe. watch a couple movies, or read a book near a window cuddled in a blanket, you will feel so much better, enjoy the time inside and do some yoga as well. dont let the rain get you down. look at all the positive things you can do instead.

Tracking my food one day was what got me started on using SparkPeople regularly. It was shocking to learn I had eaten over 4000 calories in a day! It can really make a difference in my eating if I even think about going off track.

I went off track this weekend, but was okay with it. It was Mother's Day and we had our kids over to share the day. I made sure I didn't overeat, but I made some food choices that I wouldn't normally eat.

wow did I learn something lol.I never could figure out how I got so heavy when I never thought "I don't eat that much""couldn't figure out why this time it seemed easier.TRACKING MY FOOD lol Yesterday was mothers day and I went to my sisters for a cook out.Had usual cook out stuff .Hambergers..Brats..hot dogs..baked beans..Potato salad ..cake. I ate like I use to eat.dap of this..dap of that..slice of my sons bd cake.limiting myself to no seconds.Just for fun I tracked it 3570 calories emoticon Granted that was my only meal but I was Shocked! so today we are back on the plan i'm no good on my own

Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of My Life So I Got To Make It Count

Busy weekend and lots of gym time for me! I feel good. A party Friday night wasn't the best food wise, but I did not stray too far off my eating and prepared for it by eating well all day in anticipation of the party. I even only at one small treat for dessert. Let's hope today continues in this fashion.

I don't know what is going on but the last two nights I have fallen hard! I do well during the day, but when night comes I can't control myself and I eat everything. Ironically I am staying within my calorie range, which means I am not eating enough healthy stuff during the day. I hope to get this under control today!

Spent the day out with my sister and made pretty decent choices. Just drank water all day and had a sensible treat too, not a bad start. We went to Red Lobster and instead of telling myself no cheddar biscuits and lusting after them, I limited myself to 2 and order broiled instead of fried fish to offset some of the calories. Not a bad start and I didn't beat myself up for wanting them.

Welcome KristyE81: I think we all feel the same about weekends!! It is harder! I am learning to be more gentle with myself and more forgiving while also making a point of celebrating myself for making a personal choice to be healthier. On one of the teams that I have joined, we are listing 5 things we are grateful for each day. I have made this a ritual so I focus on the gifts I have.....I can so quickly go to what I should or could be doing that I miss all the important steps I am taking.

Today I am feeling optimistic. My self talk patterns are slowly changing and I am feeling good!!

Hello all! I am new to the site and this is my first weekend. Weekends have always been hard for me, my husband, son and I are all home and its hard for me to eat the proper portions when my husband is eating so much more. I'm trying to keep my motivation up and my portion size down!

Doing well and noticed I am relaxing more. Went grocery shopping today and instead of rushing past with a quick "hi" with people I know, I took the time to stop and talk. Also made a point of phoning a friend I haven't connected with in awhile. Feels good to be connected and to share my goals and interests with others.
This is one of my goals for 2013. I love that my intention is finding a way to unfold effortlessly and not from sheer will which is usually my way!!

I have misplaced my pedometer, but today I will be finding it again, resetting it (it can download the info) and I am starting back up. I used to be able to get 18,000 in daily and enjoyed it, but I will be surprised if I can manage 10,000. I am in a great mood from this surgery--1st week back to work and now that my pms is over and my feet aren't swelling abnormally, I have 4 pounds down since the surgery on my shoulder and I am so ready to make this yr the yr I lose more weight than 5yrs ago.

For me Doug, being busy and out of the house really makes a difference. I wonder if you are not getting enough protein. Try increasing the protein and keep you hands and/or mind busy on the weekends. I know it is not easy, but you can do it!

I cheated yesterday, but only a little. I got back on track last night and look forward to moving ahead with my weight loss. Dinner out for my son's birthday later will test me for sure.
