ok, no snacks after 8! I'm also going to add, for myself, no computer games after 12:00 a.m. and no cigarettes after 11:00 p.m.

Wow! This would be a tough one for me for me during the "week" -- I work 8-4 at night so my "weekend" is from 4am Friday morning to 8 pm Sunday night. I can do this, though! emoticon

Hey Guys!

This week's challenge is to have at least one "no snack" night after 8 p.m.

It's a myth that eating after a certain time of day is going to hinder your weight loss. What's most important is how many calories you're consuming over a 24 hour period, not necessarily when you eat them. But a lot of people struggle with late night snacking, especially on the weekends when you might stay up later, go to social functions where the chips and dip are readily available, etc. This can lead us to go over our recommended calorie range, undoing some of the great progress we were able to make all week. There are some great articles about healthy snacking in the Nutrition Resource Center if you're interested.

It will run from Fri, 5th through Sun, 7th.

Have fun!

Aldana

Finally! A weekend that wasn't a disaster! I even went out for lunch, ate dinner at a friend's house (scary when you could be served ANYTHING and have to plan ahead), but I also went to the gym on Sat. and walked 2.5 hours Sunday. Even cooked healthy veggi chili on Friday night to eat all weekend when the cravings kicked in and managed 8 glasses of water one day! I didn't think I'd EVER manage a weekend like this, but I did thanks to this team! I took bits and pieces from everyone's goals and tried to make them work for me, so thanks to every body here!!! You can do it too!!!

I helped a friend move (to the fifth floor, no elevator) on Saturday, and did over an hour of Biggest Loser Wii yesterday, so I am happy with my exercise over the weekend. I didn't get around to meal planning, but I realized we have many leftovers to take over so I won't be doing much cooking anyways. Ah well.

this weekend I plan to:
1. Maintain a normal sleep schedule, and not stay up late (and therefore sleep late) "because I can"...it just messes up my sleep/mornings for the whole week and I've got to cut that out
2. make a to-do list that includes cleaning, organizing, exercising, eating perfectly healthy meals, healthy relaxation & accomplishing steps towards life goals, and check off items each day so that at least 90% are done

Good luck this weekend everyone!

1. Exercise both days
2. Focus on drinking more water

I remembered this challenge a little too late (today) but this weekend I changed the way I approached the buffet table at a friend's house. Instead of lingering/hovering, I brought my plate away from it and reached for water whenever I found myself wandering back there.

I've come too far to give up now.

Who says it never rains in sunny San Diego? Well it's about 40 degrees, up to 85mph winds, hail & raining like cats & dogs. For us san diegans, this is a BIG deal. We just do not get storms like this very often. So my change up for this weekend will be to exercise indoors (gym, wii fit and your shape)and make some low cal crock pot meals.

Hey guys!

This weekend challenge is to change your routine. Change your workout, add 10, 20 minutes to it; change what you eat, try something new. Changing things is always exciting and keeps us motivated to keep going and not falling of the wagon.

The challenge will run from Thur 22nd through Sun 24th.

Amanda, I noticed the same thing last weekend. I tracked for one full week and it was an eye opener. I used too many points/calories on wine and snacks.

I hope to do much better this weekend!

Hey guys!

This weekend challenge is to track all your meals for at least 2 days. Tracking usually puts things in perspective and allow us to see what our pitfalls are and learn so next time we won't make the same mistake.

The challenge will run from Thur 15th through Sun 17th.

Have fun!!
Aldana

Mine is to get myself to track my food better and to journal daily. That is a hard one for me.

Chicken and Vegetable Satay (Chef Meg's Makeover)
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Chef Meg lowered the fat and calories in this member-submitted recipe, which contains two servings of cooked vegetables per serving!

Lean chicken and a rainbow of veggies are hiding under a tasty, tangy peanut sauce. This is a great way to get kids to eat their veggies.

For a complete meal, serve with brown rice or rice noodles. Don't forget the chopsticks for the kids! It's a great way to teach hand-eye coordination. Slip a rubber band around the top to help them get started.

If you're watching your sodium, reduce the amount of soy sauce, but keep in mind that it will affect the balance of flavors in the sauce.

We used all-natural peanut butter for a fresh taste and healthy dose of real nuts. Chef Meg served hers over rice noodles (95 calories per half-cup serving), but you could also serve this with brown rice. Full Recipe
