Hi I am new to spark - I am doing a biggest loser challenge with my jazzercise group. I plan on losing 24 pounds in 12 weeks! Weekends are tough - i love my evening wines and going out for dinner and breakfast!! I am finding the journalling and tracking my food VERY enlightening and helpful. Had to go shopping for all sorts of fat free and low fat items for myself. I have a 16 year old son who is trying to GAIN as much weight as I am losing!!...so we need items for both our needs! Best of luck to all!! Happy superbowl! Drink your water!!!

Hi, I'm Kelly - I joined SP March of '09 and love being here. I am too a "weekend sabotager!" I need to keep myself focused and on task. I'm scared to get on the scale for what it is going to tell me, but if I don't, then I don't have a start point again. Looking forward to meeting new people and small challenges (sometimes I take on challenges way to big!). Have a great day!
I believe....Kelly

Hi; I joined this group because i do great on my own during the week, but my impressively ripped, fitness-fanatic boyfriend has some holes in his nutritional information - mainly higher fat than i can burn off, of course, lacking much muscle myself!! I've always referred to myself as his 'soft place to fall'. I'm hoping to educate him thru' this site, as i'm sure his arteries could benefit. Any other suggestions?

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole and I joined Sparkpeople in January. Weekends are ALWAYS the hardest for me! I tend to do fairly well during the week and I even maintain my exercise routine on the weekends. However, my snacking tends to get CRAZY on the weekends!!! I think it's due to staying up later, having a lot of down time, boredom...etc. Anyway, I'm hoping to get a handle on this weekend problem of mine because I end up sabotaging my efforts. Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journeys! Feel free to stop by my page anytime! I'm always looking for new friends to chat with!

Hello everyone, my name is Doreen. I sabotage myself every weekend. I am one of those who do so well with eating healthy and exercising all week long then BAM! do garbage, too much or no exercise on the weekend.

Hi! My name is Cindy, and I'm pretty new to Spark. This is my first time and I'm learning to navigate, so I just found this team. The weekends are my "challenge" -- my husband and my son are very active and eat a lot of calories. I can't always say no, so I have had to be firm with them and myself about portion sizes. I also tend to be a weekend warrior -- for instance, I can go kayaking for hours and love to hike (I'm looking forward to a 12 mile hike coming up this Saturday), but I'm not consistent about daily walks...

Something else I have started doing more is genealogy. I have things from both sides of the family. I wish I had asked even more questions, but I have been reading more about how to do it. I still have my Mother to ask questions on her side of the family, and 2 Aunts that might be able to help on the other side. My father lives in Australia so he is hard

Hi! My name is Mary. I was a spark member before and of course slowly slipped away from the spark.
I quit smoking 6 months ago and I too have gained quite a bit of weight (between 30 and 40 lbs). I was going through old emails and came across a spark team's email then decided that I need to do something with myself and my weight.
I am ok during the week, its the weekends that I suffer. I tend to relax after a long stressful work week and munch and watch movies. Then comes Sunday nite and I tend to be quite hard on myself.
My biggest goal is to track everything I eat and to do the exercising thats recommended each day.

Hi everyone! My name is Diane and I am from the Boston area. I gained weight after I quit smoking - lost it and gained it back. I have been a WW member for years but this web site fits my needs a lot more. I lost 4 pounds this week - tracked cals and went to the gym. Weekends tend to be hard for me. My goal for this first weekend is to track everything I eat.

Hi Regaina, here in GA they are predicting possible snow and ice tonight into Sat morning. I plan to do some workout video's and get on the treadmill, that is if the power don't go out. I just want to keep my mind off eating this weekend to get me through. I am a emotional eater and it is tough when a boring weekend approaches. Good luck and hey get a good book(suggestion SparkPeople) to keep your mind occupied.
Stay safe and warm! Ann in Atlanta

Hello everyone, I have been on spark people for a few months, but only just recently got more serious with it. Week-ends are very hard for me, but this week i have had a great week and I don't want to blow it this week-end. My name is Regaina and i live in Va Beach where they are predicting 6 " of snow. This does NOT happen here in Va Beach. We are lucky to get a dusting once a year, so that means it will be tough to exercise outside. Looking forward to what I can learn from this team.

Hi everyone, I am Ann from the Atlanta area. I have always been a 5 day a week "dieter" until this new website. I have been on WW for years but feel for some reason that this one is just right in my head for me. I have really enjoyed reading the book and suggest anyone that hasn't please purchase it. I want this journey to be the ends to the means of a life time. Not just a results reward, because, the results are life long your health. Hope I make sense in that statement. Glad to find this message board group and good luck to you all! Ann

Hi team!
This is the group I've been looking for. Glad I'm not alone in my battle against the weekend cravings, social outings, and proximity to the kitchen! My boyfriend and I love to cook and try new restaurants on weekends, but he's a string bean so he can go anywhere and eat anything. Help!

Hello new to this team just wanted to say goodluck to everyone little steps is the key since joining SP this January I have lost 6kg my current weight is the lowest I have been in a long time and there is still a way to go. SP is fantastic helping to motivate me on my journey. Really helps highlight what my strengths and weakness are never thought I was an emotional eater or that I eat mindlessly but I also know that it's about choices. Focusing on small changes quote on SP if you chase after two rabbits you will loose both. It's taken me a lifetime to develope my bad habits so excited to be on the journey to a healthier and fitter me. Focusing on the choices that I make knowing that it will have an effect on tommorrow. Weekends are tough need to work on these focus on the changes and the results will follow good luck

Hi all! I am new to this team, and very excited to find it. I do great during the week right now (being unemployed leaves me all my baby's napping time to workout and stay focused) but when the hubby is off on Friday and Saturday and we are running around I totally fall off the wagon, and it's sometimes so hard to get back on. I am looking forward to any help I can get/give.

I'm so happy to find this team! I do great during the week, but weekends get me every time. With more time off, I should be better at working out, but I have a harder time getting exercise. Meals out, happy hours, Sunday brunch, etc. just make it even tougher. I need all the extra support and advice I can get!

Nice to meet everyone!
Weekends are hard for me because during the week, I carefully plan out my meals. I have to take my lunch IN to work, so I pack in the morning when I am not hungry. However, on the weekends I eat the kids' leftover food, and I am near the kitchen more to snack. HELP! I need serious help on the weekends!

Hello SP's Weekend Survival Team! I am new to this group and have been using SP since June 09. Weekends are especially hard it seems as there is no structure. So I am hoping this team helps with ideas and input.
Hi SP WEEKEND SURVIVALISTS Yes weekends are a real challenge. My kids, 17 and 20 year old boys are home along with my husband. We really don't have a routine as you can make older kids follow one- They sleep and eat and eat and eat. We are all so routine and scheduled during the week that no one wants one on the weekend. So fitness and meal times are thrown out the window. Looking forward to your help.

Hi Helluolibrorum! That is a tough one, more time off so of course more 'fun' time! I can understand that!!! More exercise will be good. I think you're right, just plan ahead. No plans sometimes equal disaster!

I'm new to SP and to the group (HI!). I recently switched to a four-tens (twelves) week, so my weekend is now longer. That's both a Hooray! and a Yikes! for my behavior. Better rest, and fewer excuses for not getting in exercise, but more opportunity for random munching at home. (I'm usually okay at work as long as I plan ahead--late evenings and weekends are my killers.)
Good news: Got a good start to my day and a plan for the rest of the day!

I am SO glad i found this support group. This is the first weekend in my entire life i think that i ate no goodies/junk. I stuck to my weekly routine and ate healthy. I am in shock that it is now Sunday and i havent strayed from healthy eating. The weekends have always been extremely tough for me. Once you change your mindset about what a weekend is, than you will be well on your way. I am on a mission!!! haha

Hi, my name is Tonya and I am relatively new to Spark. I am interested in being a part of this team and the challenges. Weekends tend to be my time when I just let go. Well, my letting "go" is making me "grow". I want to be able to rethink how I see/handle the weekend and all it may bring.

Hello all! I am new to the team, but not new to SP. Unfortunately I have not been good about sticking to my weight loss plan...and usually the main time I fall off of the wagon is on the weekends. I seem to do alright at work but it is so easy to overeat when I am at home!!! I am looking forward to being a part of this support group!

Hello, I'm Cecilia. Joined sparks a long while back but never used it until last month.
Weekends are a challenge for me what with going out and being with friends.
I look forward to what this page and the interaction will help me with.

Hi my name is Antonia. I to struggle to keep at it on weekends as I have noticed when I previously attempted to lose the pounds. Looking forward to getting encouragement from everyone.
