Hi everyone. It has been a long long two month. Tyler is starting to do better. We did get some bad news that he has heart envolvement, he has two small aneurysms on his cornary artery. So now he will be getting heart echos every 2-6 months to see if they are healing. We spent last monday in the hospital, Tyler got a second dose of the antibiotic for Kawasaki's Disease. As soon as it was done, we got to come home. He is starting to do better, and is feeling better. We are going to go on a much need vacation next week JUly 6-15. My husbands family has a farm house on a lake in MI. I'll be back on when we get back. Thank you for all of you love, and good wishes for my family! peace and love sam
Thank you everyone. We are headed back into the doctor today, since Tyler was sick again yesterday. I'm praying he isn't getting strep again...He is starting to get some of his spunk back. But it breaks our heart to see him so sore, walking with a limp becasue his hips and knees are sore. I'm sorry I've been hit or miss on here, but as soon as things are better, I'll be back on! Peace and love sam
It is great to hear that Tyler is doing good and it's back home. I haven't been online often, since I'm having pretty busy weeks lately, I didn't know he was sick.
I think when I was a one-year-old kid I had that Kawaski Disease and by then, 34 years ago, there was not a way to know that, and I ended up with 4 heart problems for a lifetime, non-treatable, non-operable, but harmless if they do not concurr, as the doctor says.
I'm glad everything went right and you discovered it early enough! I'll recommend you to check his tonsils every week once or twice, because on patients with repeated strep-infections, it comes without any symptom until high development.
I do check mine since I'm a girlie and I detected it always right at the beginning.
Good luck with it!!!!
Regarding the baby: I'm touched! This is such a great news!!!! Our first SP Class of March 18-24, 2007 baby!!!!!!!! I wish you a great pregnancy and an even better birth!!! And of course, I am glad you will stay with us!!!!!
Thank you for all of the support! We did get some great news today, we are expecting our third child this winter. We are so excited!! I am still going to stay on Spark through my pregnancy and support all my friends! Peace and love sam
Good morning everyone. I'm happy to report that Tyler was released last night from the hospital. It was a long 6 days. Here is the quick recap.. Tyler started with Strep throat, the worst case our Dr. had seen. After not responding to 3 antibiotics, getting dehydrated, and spiking fevers of 103 and higher, he was admitted to the hospital last Friday night. Dr. Cook discovered a heart murmur on Sunday morning that was new. After a heart echo on Monday, she and the cardiologist diaginosed him with Kawaski Disease, a complication on the strep's toxins. Kawaski causes inflammation of the hearts blood vessels. He was give a specific antibiotic to treat this on Monday night. Now, we will monitor the murmur, and continue some medicine for the next 2 weeks and he will have another heart echo. Since we caught in three days of it's starting, hopefully, no other measures will be needed. Tyler is very sore, and tired. He is on limited activity, and needs to not be exposed to any new germs, so we will be trying to keep him home as much as possible. Thank you all for your prayers, and I'll be back as soon as I can. Much love, Sam
