Difficult to read all these disgruntlement, but I get it! This weekend was rainy, gloomy and it was so hard not to pig out. Thankfully I only had 1 big splurge (creme brulee at my step-daughter's graduation celebration). I kept myself busy in the kitchen making hubby and I low carb treats including frozen PB pies (with almond flour, stevia and such), kale chips and coconut avocado ice cream (haven't tried this one yet). Today is going to be tough.
It's my birthday! I started the day great with cottage cheese and raspberries but the raspberries tasted *off*. Then..I heard a coworker vomiting in the stall next to me. Between the off raspberries and that experience, my stomach has been a mess all day. I took a 10 minute power nap over lunch, still felt horrible and the egg salad waiting for me didn't sound appetizing, so I splurged on a Wendy's burger with a diet coke. No fries and no mayo. Not great, but I needed something greasy (I don't know why but I love greasy food when I'm sick in the tummy).
Tonight is supposed to be sushi and a movie for my birthday. Really really hoping another nap after work keeps the sushi down at dinner. Tomorrow, lawn mowing and I NEED to meet up with my running partner this week - it's been far too long!

Had kind of an off-weekend. We needed to get a new car for my husband. That takes ALL weekend, so we didn't get a hike, bike ride, or even a trip to the gym in! Bummer! At least I rode my bike to work today! Down 0.2# last week. Hardly anything, but at least I'm not up after such a sedentary weekend. Looks like most of you are doing great! Keep up the good work! I'm camping in Sierra National Forest this weekend, and hoping to get a lot of hiking in both there and in Yosemite. Should be a great, active weekend. Hoping for a better report next week.

I spent most of the weekend cooking for the workers.......should have been bbq's but it's so horrid it was lots of soup!
Awful weekend, the weather was heavy fog and drizzle so I couldn't get out hunting since visibility was practically zero. I ended up just lounging round the house and eating all weekend.

Looking good folks! Keep it moving to the right!
Slimmer, are you taking the "forgiveness week"? You can be back in if you are back to last weeks weight (or lower) by next Friday, right?
My weight has been up all week, but finally headed down the past couple of days....still not below my goal weight, but today I was only 0.2 lbs above it. Maybe the mountain biking yesterday? Even though I didn't do the full ride that Larry did, I still rode for almost 2 hours (and a bumpy downhill too!)
We're supposed to go climbing today....we'll see how that goes. I'm still feeling a little fatigued (felt it yesterday too) but better than yesterday.
And we signed up to run the Cal-Neva marathon in Sept (Larry's running it with me!) so after we get back from our Sierra trip at the end of June we'll be doing some running....

Yeah, Kelpie and Brenda! Moving in the right direction!
Brenda, carbs make me happy, so I could see how a low carb diet would make you grumpy, stick to it and see how it goes, I think most low carb diets bring the carbs back up over time, right? Don't want to shock the system too much!
Snow, thanks for the encouragement, and yes, today I'm back down to the other day's weight, so those 2 lbs up yesterday went away....who can say!

Snow - thanks for your encouragement. I've been in a horrible funk this week - maybe the low carb diet makes me moody?

Yeah it's frustrating when you go everything right and you still gain. I've done pretty well this week. I've walked to work every day and done an hour of exercise every other day. I've also cut down my post-work snacking. Hopefully I'll see some results on the scale. By the way, I'm weighing in on Saturday mornings my time now so I'm weighing in at about the same time as you guys. It's easier for me to weigh in during the weekend too because I'm not in so much of a rush to get to work.
See you all tomorrow morning.

Kay, im kinda cracking up...I want to say something stupid like "welcome to my world of gaining only when I track"!! I dont know whats up with that, but I do know that you know how to track and it always works great for you!! So maybe you its just those abs of steel, they weigh more! Keep your chin up...its only temporary Im sure....the water balloon effect? Then Wooooooooooosh.......you are my hero.
Off to steps, then a hike. managed running in at the last second from work to spin class last night, sure helped with handling the stress of hearing all the medical jargon and days dr visits of hubby and son. DH is taking this week off to do some of that so I get a little break. It also puts him on the same page if you know what I mean. He is my heart
Hi Brenda, I keep meaning to give you an encouraging shout! The next run sounds good, you and hubby make a good work out support system Im thinking. You sound really happy and content....what a wonderful life journey you are on now. I love your spirit, you are a strong woman.Keep the goal in your site, little diversions along the way are ok...stay focussed and you will lose.
I gotta git--I am trying to work in some light ST before classes....it feels good. Hello wood....where the heck are you??!! Weigh ins are tomorrow already....I havent had much appetite this week, so Im thinking Ill be in....but then ....????

My scale jumped this morning up another 2 pounds! And that is with tracking all week...not sure what is going on....my system gets so whacky sometimes. But I'll stick to it, and give it time to reset. I probably need to be more on top of weighing and measuring, letting Larry estimate that tends to lead to larger portions than reality.
This is the hard part, folks, gotta keep pushing!

I'm not moving enough, sort of stuck with everything I have to do!
I haven't been exercising much at all, except with cleaning/lawnmowing and doing things around the house. Running has taken a back seat, but hoping to take a run with my partner on Friday. We're signed up for another 5k on 6/1 if we decide to stick to it. I was happy that the last 5k I shaved off 5 minutes despite not training for it. I must be doing something right ;)
Stepped on the scale - no movement there. I hope that changes. Hubby and I are doing low carb - my goal is to stay below 100 carbs, but to try not to make the fat insane..it's tough but good.
Doing what I can, with what I have, when I can.

Tracking again today........my darn scale went up again! WAYYYYYY up (2.6 lbs over my goal!) but I'm pretty sure it will come back down, I've been consistent with my tracking, and eating well, working out hard (and the inflammation from the soreness isn't helping either, I'm sure!) At least it's pretty easy to track, and I have all my lunches ready to go too.
Snow, sorry your son didn't get into the program, that's a real bummer for all of you, but at least they are still investigating. Hope he (and you) get some answers soon! Your weight lifting sounded good! We had a new trainer for our small group class and he really put us through our paces! But I feel OK today, so didn't overdo it.
Kelpie, hope they get the tracker gadget fixed soon! If the techie couldn't fix it, it must really be broken!
Maui, glad you made it over here....with your busy schedule!

Snow- Gosh...I have been crazy busy and had not been over here on this thread... Anyhow, I am now caught up. Hugs to you all...and never give up plan....team plan...you sound good. Seriously lots of hugs.
Kay- thanks for keeping us all coordinated. Yes...I think in the end, it was Dan and Luvs2. DAn was prob the actually champion...consistent and still going.
Kelpie- Thanks for looking after the team like the strong mom you are. Heart of gold you have there. Many of us, it seems, have had challenges with our children, so we 'understand'. Hugs to you too... :)
Hope everyone is able to keep up with what you need to do... Get out, make it happen.

I actually had a difficult time also with my weight editing on the last round of LMS Kelpie! I forgot about that...it would not take the correct start weight- it kept showing a 2 lb higher stat...i tried and tried to get it to post right...so it would show i lost .6 when I had really lost 1.5. Finally this time I reset everything and so far so good.
Off to the gym for a steps class, then spin and a hike, but a shorter one than yesterday. My I like to do 4 hours on Monday if I feel like it, then a 3 hour the next day then by Thurs we go 2 or 3 ....scaling down seems to give me more yard time- yay!! Having my toast and coffee and out the door. We had our dissapointment melt down last night- my son DIL and I...and today we are with a new plan of attack and going for the long term....helping eachother stay possitive and focussed on his recovery. Thanks again for the hugs everyone and good thoughts. ***SNOW***

As for my amazing weight loss, I contacted SP, and to the chaps surprise he got the same thing when he entered the data too, so now I'm waiting for the technical people to get back to him
And the scale is giong very slightly to the right, so far this week.......

Kinda funny Kay, its still today! I loved the strength training this morning, it was not the TRX by any means, but using handwieghts and such, lunging and squats had my quads shaking and my arms quivering! It felt great and a low impact class followed...but it was rather boring. the instructor NEVER ever changes her routine...it had been a year since i took her class, and I knew all the steps and moves - women who did not know me that are "regulars" wondered how I did it so well and knew the variations etc.... I told them it was the same class as a year ago. Not so great.
Then a surprise hike, my friend called at the right time, and we went for 4 hours and caught up on eachothers lives. then i got home and found the kids pretty distraught- Stanford did not accept my son into pain management program, no inhouse treatment until he jumps thru more hoops. The main thing is now to find out why his bones are breaking, tomorrow is tests for osteoporosis and bone cancer- possibly from so many catscans and MRI's in the last 4 years...testosterone is almost negligent as well...I bet that could be a cause. Anyway, we have picked outselves up off the pity wagon, and we are ready to rock and roll, some really hard detoxing at our house, and back to square one to help and get his life back.
Hey I sure needed all those hugs Kelpie!! Woah, I could not believe my eyes!! And you know, you are so close to your goalweight my dear!!! I didnt realize just how much you have lost!! You weigh less than I do - son of a gun!! LOL!! But Im right behind you, almost the same goal I believe. Tomorrow...steps, another hike - gorgeous weather supposedly.... I was sore from gardening, I almost hope Im sore again tomorrow from the ST. Go team Go!! ***SNOW***

Yes, as long as you don't gain from the previous week, you are still in. If you do gain then you get a by week, to get back to or below your lower weight to stay in.
Snow, hope your having a better day today...
Kelpie, I don't really know who was still standing in the last one besides Dan. Maybe Luvs2bike? I don't know if we ever got that straightened out. Dan really nailed it though!
Neil, I hear you on the wanting to eat when you get home, I had to pry myself away from the cupboard when I got home tonight, and usually linger there far too long most nights! Good for you for the walking and biking!
The usual trainer for our class was out today, so we had a new guy, and he put us through our paces! Nice change up, I burned 440 calories in the hour....and my legs are still sore from Saturday!

Thank you for the welcome, Kelpie! Glad I don't get kicked out for a maintenance week- this is my first time so I wasn't sure how this worked. The increased energy IS a bonus, especially with an almost-4 year old who's learning all about the joys of hiking, biking, and swimming this summer.

Vyr, don't think I have said hello yet......and give it more than one more week! Those of us who "fall" stick around to cheer on those who are still standing.....and since you haven't gone up, you are still standing. And the increased energy is a real bonus, if you have too much, could you send it my way please

Kay, I really really need to follow your example and get back to tracking.......only one to do it, and that is to do it!
Neil, every gram counts!
Brenda, I have the scale problem too........
Kits, sorry to hear about your health issues, can relate, and I'm sure this will be a regular thing!
Bummer! Stayed the same this week, despite lots of exercise- much more than in weeks past since I've had a lot of energy lately. This is the first week in a long time I haven't lost anything. Will stay on this forum for one more week, in hopes that I can turn it around!

Strength training for a change this morning, then a low impact class to change it up on a Monday. I was in a funk on Mothers Day, felt like my sons problems were all my fault...so I kept to myself, stayed in the garden....and wasn't very sociable at all Im afraid. Today he and his wife go talk with Stanford Drs that can get him into the in house treatment program.... Ill be crossing fingers and toes, as he had panick and anxiety attacks all Sat. night. Life at our house is pretty stressful, so Im going to try to manage my feelings better, Im worn down already I can tell. Maybe a gym visit will help, more outdoors putzing as well on the agenda today. ***SNOW***

Hope school will bring you some structure and less stress, I would think the painting would be kind of a release for you.
Hang in there!
I'm on day 4 of tracking, yesterday was a little tough at the end of the day (ice cream calling my name, but I didn't answer!) but I stuck to it, and am headed in the right direction again. And my DOMS from Saturday was so bad, I skipped a bike ride, and took some ibuprofen. My legs are wiped out!

Kelpie, not sure what needs to be fixed? The tracker should update when you track your weight. If you want to change from pounds to K's then I think you do that from the Edit section (edit your sparkpage?) There is a technical question forum, that might have some suggestions.
Brenda, new scale, well, can you compare to the old scale (side by side?) or is it a temporary situation? I think if you are working at it, you're on the right track!
Nice job there Neil, Snow, Maui!
Kits, sorry about your medical situation, it makes sense to bow out, and take care of yourself. Hope everything goes well. I think we were doing 3 months at a time, so maybe you can cheer along with me until the next one starts again? (would that be August?)

Hi everyone, I know I said I was going to be in this but I'm going to bow out. I just can't do this right now. My mind is elsewhere. I have some health concerns to deal with and it looks like surgery is in my future. I'm sure I'll lose weight at that time. Not the way to do it but I don't have a choice. :( After I get through all of this, I will for sure join in again if you have this next fall/winter. In the meantime, I'm just hoping to lose a bit as I become more active now that our spring is finally here and I'm able to get out more.
Good luck to everyone!

Kay- Good morning! I am down, just a smidge...whew...so I am still in! :)
Yup...tracking seems to be crucial. I have been all crazy this week with helping my friend. Food has been VERY haphazard. Time for me to buckle down too.
That's my plan, food log, plan ahead, be prepared. When the schedule gets all loopy, it becomes so hard.
OK everyone...let's check in. :)

Im doing good Kay! Getting back into the swing of things.... steps this morning, spinning following that, and a 3 hour hike with a friend during which I got some good news to keep my head up and possitive thoughts going. So, Life is good.... I appreciate you cheering on the sidelines for all of us! ***SNOW***

I like this challenge! I missed the Friday kick-off, but I definitely want to play. Weight was at highest ever in January, and have been steadily decreasing ever since. It's getting harder to keep losing, but I think I can do it, the healthy lifestyle changes are becoming more habitual, so it does seem to be getting easier. Lost 1# last week (I weigh in on Saturday mornings).

I was pretty good this weekend. I had DVD's with my brother, which is usually a junk food fest. But I managed to drink coke zero and soda water with homemade elderflower flavouring and eat only popcorn (home popped kernels with only a couple of teaspoons of chicken stock for flavouring). Then I also went out for another exploring hunt. I was trying to see if I could find my way round to a big clearing where the goats hang out, I took my rifle along in case I saw anything. I managed to find the clearing and spotted 2 pigs which disappeared into the heavy bush before I could draw a bead on them.

Okay here it is! The Last Man Standing Thread! Basic rules: Post weight on this thread every Friday. Weight gain is a big No No! If your weight remains the same or you lose you're still in the competition. If you gain weight, you're given a one week forgiveness period to get back to the lower weight. Otherwise - you're out!
If you're one of our members who is already at their goal weight you may still partcipate by exercising at least 1 hour a day 5 days out of 7 and record your exercise. You also may not gain weight. If you do, you too are OUT! Okay, Okay, you get the same 1 week grace period.

Good luck!

Sounds about right to me, Maui, Dan, Luvs2 and Snow were still in last I saw.
May 1st is next week? So would the starting weigh in be this Friday (for starting weight) and first "official weigh in be next Friday? I'm presuming you all want to keep Friday as weigh in day.
Then 3 months, this one would end at the end of July, unless someone is declared the winner before then...

Kay, I may be wrong, but I think we said three months at a time, so as we startedin February, that'll be starting again, (for those of holding the pom poms) in May......do you agree?
Hey LMS friends I did not get to post yesterday so I weighed today and I was up a pound WOODS rules this is my honor week I guess since I am up one and late for posting.
I hope everyone else is doing great! See you on the Deck.
Enjoy Dan

Was Luvs2bike and Snow still in? I don't recall, but Dan is doing great!
I think we were going to start new in April? So would we start now? Or in May?
I'll just do some more cheerleading either way, since I'm just trying to stay in my range, and it goes up and down from week to week.

It seems to me that Dan is the only one left posting losses. Is that right? Doesn't that make him the winner?
I'm hoping we can start up again soon. I need it as I'm going in the wrong direction!

So who is left in? Not me for sure, even if I hadn't picked up those pompoms easlier, this week of no movement, and lots of comfort food have set me quite a bit back to the left.....but there is always the next challenge, starting next month, no?
Thanks for all the support friends, I will not make my 185 lbs goal by the end of April but I am at the middle of my B M I so I am very happy going into my work season at a lighter weight than last year and my new goal is by this time next year to be at 185 lbs.

There was no scale on spring break so I weighed myself this morning and I am down one more pound since two Fridays ago. I only tracked my calories in my head as I ate this last week and it worked great.
Enjoy Dan It is spring in Idaho.

I went up and down this week, but for the past 2 days back below my goal weight of 125, so I'm happy with that. I had 3 non-food-tracking days (Easter weekend and Tuesday) which set me up the scale, over my goal by 2 lbs. but now back under by a pound.
Hope those still in (not sure who that is at this point?) are doing well! Dan, enjoy you spring break, water park adventure!
Choc, to you, hope the stress is getting better, a week of hospital cafeteria food, bleah! I work at a hospital, so I know how many awful choices they have there! Ours actually has some good stuff on occasion, but you have to know what to avoid!
Kits, snow in April? I think we might have had a dusting in the high peaks the other day, but just some spitting rain here. It's windy today. But the skies are clear.

Kits...keep posting. Don't worry about the confusion...lol. Sorry about the snow. What a season you have had eh? One of my sons moved to New Haven, CN last sept...wow...what a year to try out that 'neck of the woods'. quite a year some of you have had. Out here, quite mild really. Hang in there. It has to shift soon. And you know... .5 is not too bad. Re group and take charge. You can. I was thinking about what a fun spring this will be. I bet this warm season will see some changes at the cabin. :) Dream, hope, believe.

I'm here. I figured that since I'm out that I was confusing people by posting. So, I'm still weighing myself but just didn't post last week. I was up .5 last week. This week I'm the same. I fell off the wagon a bit last week. I had a stressful week plus just felt hungry all the time. Glad I was only up .5.
Oh, and it's snowing here again. It really is depressing. :(
Thoughts are with you Choc. :(
