That sounds like a good soup...I've got chili in the crockpot, it's supposed to be turkey chili, but I have bison and boar instead...it's one of my favorite chili recipes from America's test kitchen crockpot cookbook.

I do try to use my own homemade stuff, but do sometimes get "processed" food as well, it's a mix at this point, but the less processed the better.

glad you are ready for Christmas Jo! I still have some shopping to do...

Maui, hope the smoke doesn't hang around, I guess we are out of range on that, we have sunshine, even if it's cold! I went walking out back yesterday and some ice on the trail, and snow in spots. Brrr!

Jo- Thanks...yes...a lot of cooking, experimenting with a husband willing to eat while I learn and not waste. In the end...it is...simply fuel. And along the way...lessons in yummy.

Warm here...darn! And dry!

Today, beef and barley soup! My beef bone broth, my tomatoes, onions and carrots...organic barley. :)

Morning Deckies!

Jo- Oh recipes...I use some, sometimes (a lot) no...depends upon what I have to use up, so often.
I have had broccoli soup, love it, never make it. Not sure why...

French onion...
www.saveur.com/michel-roux-f
rench-onio
n-soup-recipe

This is basic, and very yummy.

OK...the smoke from Southern California fires is now up here and dangerous they say. I guess, the last walk outside for me for awhile. So scary and sad for the folks affected.

Weird times we are living in.

I have another pot simmering...haha...you all must think I am goofy! But remember, I try to never buy a processed food, so no cans, boxes etc for me. I had Zero stock left in my freezer by Thanksgiving week...sooooo, gotta stock the supply! Today...chicken stock/bone broth.
LOTS of chicken feet! haha... (Backs and necks too)

If you can get out, do!

I've never tried broccoli soup...is it cream based or broth? I love to make soup!

Love your "favorite things" lists...I will have to give this some thought.

Maui... Glad to hear you are safe from the fires! Seeing the devastation on the news is just heartbreaking for the families who have lost their homes.

What gets me excited? Hmmm....
1. Outdoor activities (hiking & kayaking especially)
2. My puppy LOL
3. Friends and family

REALLY cold here now... “Tis the season” ... if it’s going to be this cold I want a good snowfall! (Can’t wait to see pup’s reaction to her first deep snow, LOL)

All done with my Christmas shopping! WOO HOO!

Heading out for a cold hike with the pup, catch y’all later! Have a great day everyone! Choc

I hadn't heard about the fires, thanks for the news, Choc, I thought we were done with all that...

Maui, you are so nice to your neighbors! Pea soup sounds great!

Jo, I guess you can't tag along to the Christmas tree farm? It seems like they'd want more help with the little ones!

Just another Tuesday here...we're getting caught up at work (now that I finally got the last position filled, and we are fully staffed). Lets hope it keeps going that way!

OK...so...here the question

What gets you excited?
we all know Lard gets me excited... emoticon

But seriously...how about the rest of you?

Name 3 things, that really touch your heart with excitement.
Me
1. climbing a mountain
2. when my first tomato of the season is ripe
3. Knowing my kids (in any combo, biological, adopted, foster etc...any of them) are coming by to see me.

What's your list?

More than 3 is definitely ok.

Afternoon Deckies!

Choc- fires are abut 6 hours south of me. I do have friends with car packed, at the ready, with 3 big dogs, My friend (and his wife), who just hap his hip replaced and stayed here! Yikes! Yes, prayers the winds die down!

KAy- haha...yep...lard, it's a special club. So many folks freak about it, and miss the nutritive value of the Vit D and pastured clean fat (in small portions of course) Not like I am gonna drink the stuff. (But I have seen it done before) Another story though.

A ham bone came out of the freezer and a big pot of pea soup is on the stove. I need to take food to my elderly couple...so...soup it is! (There's enough for them to have a medium pot, dinner for us, and the freezer gets some too! That's how I roll.

Jo-
Yes! I do purchase on line...I buy organic non GMO wheat grain etc in 25 or 50lb bags, then mill flour when I need to bake. Properly stored it'll keep for 25 or 30 years...haha...it's all good. I buy lentils, garbanzo beans...all dry legumes this way. It's great, between my garden, bulk purchase and my meat CSA, I don't have to shop much. Keeps me safe from impulse purchases...haha. Really helps the budget.
And yes...gifts...on line, seems to be the way. We buy way too much that way it seems, but in the store can be so hard to find these days. Luckily we don't do too to much of this...so not overwhelming for me.

My lard is all jarred and in the fridge! Yippee! It turned out great! Leave it to me to be happy about lard. Where did I come from????

Kay- Haha...just the same 'ol one. Start early, oven roast, stagger...right now only beef bone broth slow simmering, and pork fat rendering. Sauce for tonight ready and set aside. Soup was simple too, lots of veggies.

I find, when I do a lot like this, it's more efficient. I think you have done this too Kay...when the temps drop, it's easy to cook away, ahead, then be more efficient by having planned ahead.
Not that this applies to the rendered fat...haha...that was free and an experiment, most going into the freezer in little packages. You know...this back fat from heritage, pastured only animals has huge amounts of vitamin D. There is discussion this is one of the many links for so many being low in Vit D. the food humans used to eat, we no longer consume. So many questions...but animals that are outside, happy in the sun, eating as they should, playing, exercising...HEATHIER! haha...Big lesson here, right?

How many stoves do you have Maui? That's quite an operation you have going on there!

I made an easy soup for lunch, lots of veggies...

Still have more things to make, but they are more "assembly" creations at this point. I'm really trying to up the veggie quotient this month, since I know there will be lots of "treats" around as well!

Happy Sunday Deckies!

Jo- Most of your shopping done...Fantastic! I am not much of a shopper, (Must have some man genes inside, lol...Just one of the hardest things for me) I cannot breath very well in malls, big stores...anxiety of some sort. Best to stay away...trails work for me.

Choc- OK...the bright side, Feb is after all the holiday travel, its a MUCH safer time to have surgery. Sorry for the awful pain, but maybe this schedule will be perfect for heath, rehab and all. And you pup will be 'more' ready to stay with your sister by then. YEs?

Kay- OK...sleep any better?? what d you do when you awaken and then try to get back to sleep? It's so hard. I sure hope this spell passes.

Me...today...OK, Last night I took a food run to my elderly relative and his very sick wife. Hubby and I had been with daughter and her husband most of the day, went to Ikea , bought 3 new inexpensive pieces of furniture for their bedroom, and helped them put it together. Ha-ha. (hours). The food to relative. Today is for me..kinda. Yesterday morning I went to pick up bones and pork back fat from my meat CSA. FREE to members! Today the kitchen is hopping. I am roasting the bones right now and they will soon be in the pit for bone broth. Some potatoes got dug and I am making some German potato salad for hubby, one of his favs. (He'll have this for lunches this week.)The back fat is in a huge pot, low, rendering down to lard. I'll freeze portions . Turkey Broth simmering for lunch soup with carrots and turnips from the garden. Marinara simmering for supper...haha...you guesses it. Where did I come from??????

I still have no tree! Not sure what to do. LOL...

All you sound like you are getting a good start on the Christmas shopping, good for you!

I slept a little longer last night...but did wake up a few times. Hoping I can have a night soon where I can just sleep right through!

I made tzatziki this morning, it was really good on the bagel I had! Lots of cucumber and dill...

I'm cooking up a butternut later for dinner, I had this butternut pasta and sauce from Trader Joe's that have been sitting in the cupboard, time to get that cooked!

Hi all... just a quick pop in... been busy Christmas shopping, baking, a little holiday decorating (not as much as previous years)... and also taking advantage of our unseasonably nice weather to do a lot of hiking with the pup...Lexi and I go to a local park to meet up with friends and their two pooches almost every morning... park has trails through woods as well as a beach to walk along (it’s part of a big reservoir)... we’ve seen eagles there several times now (mated pair and a juvenile)... I also try to take my pup out for other walks later in the day at other nearby parks, including into any stores that allow dogs ... she’s getting really good about meeting lots of people and other dogs that way (she’s a regular at some of the stores now and knows where she’ll get a treat at the checkout counters, LOL).... haven’t hiked the Game Area lately because it’s gun season for deer hunters. (Don’t want to scare away their deer)

I see some of us are into knitting again
(I just finished two pair of mittens for Christmas stocking stuffers)

Maui... I did see the doctor about my hip, surgery is set for February 13th
... wish I could have gotten it done sooner but he’s booked for all of December & January... so I’m just putting up with the pain, doing alternating heat & ice packs (hip hurts the most if I’m sitting or laying in one position too long... good incentive to keep doing lots of hikes!)

Gotta go see what the pup is barking at... catch y’all later... Choc

Kay- dreaming...oh yes...lots of possibilities...hormones always a factor. Fatigue, stress and more. I hope you can catch up a bit this weekend.
Knitting, yep busy hands are not munching. I am kitting 'continental style, its much easier on my arthritic hands.

Oh, a long walk together, what fun! You have beautiful skies too?
All the fall color is still here. Just love love this time of year (If we have clear skies) haha...no fires.

Life is good my friends.
Get out when you can. Share about your adventures...who wants a campfire tonight?

Well, I've been having lots of dreams lately...hormones? They may calm down at some point, but I've always been kind of a vivid dreamer...

At least it's Friday!

Sounds like you had a nice day there, Maui! Wish we all could have joined you on that walk, sounds like a lovely place.

I've been knitting pretty consistently for a while (something I still track on SP). Just a few stitches here and there, it does keep my hands busy!

Evening Deckies!

Jo - Wonderful...family fun...good good. I am sorry about your ex taking your ornaments. Hard to understand why some people do what they do. Sad.
But also nice you are making new memories...

Kay- Yikes...weird dreams. Hard work. Hope you sleep well tonight! I had some hard times in my family of origin, and dreams/nightmares catch me sometimes. Dreaming can be exhausting. I hope you find rest tonight.

I had a lovely walk, 2 hours out at Shoreline Park, part of the salt water marsh system of eh sough bay. The day was amazing...perfect sky, calm cool air, birds everywhere...
Lucky me.

Today I knitted a bit. It's been a long while, thought I'd start a project...my hands seem to remember!

I love lupines...maybe I need some of those seeds!

I like the idea of lights, but not the work to put them up, especially since we have not done it in past years. still....we can't ski yet, so maybe?

Work's getting done...lots of meetings tomorrow, then it should be clearer for the rest of the week, that's the way it goes sometimes!

Afternoon Deckies!

Ahhhh, after Thanksgiving recovery, Christmas decorations coming out...tis the season!

Mary- How was the visit with your boy/man? Such a special time. I bet it felt good having to feed him...hehe. Boys love their mama's cookin.

Jo- A nice day for outside! Excellent! And all the decorations up! ow...good for you. I love getting mine all up on Sunday after Tday, but I didn't manage this time. Oh well.
Do your gkids help with the ornaments? Are there stories? (I love to explain to my youngest daughter about each one. (The others don't seem as invested)

Kay- I love all he outside lights. we have a blue house with white trim (as you might remember,,,hehe), and I have blue lights on my porch, with snowflakes I hand cut for the window. The porch always seems so cold, haha. So, I'll do that for sure. Easy really. I saved all my snowflakes from year to year. (

Choc- did you go to that appt today re your hip? Any update? Seriously...I wish you could see my neighbor after his hip surgery (no 2 years) but wow...he can out hike anyone now, after having a severe limp. Staying positive.

Kelpie- we sure have not heard from you in a long while. Please stop by and say hi if you can spare a minute. Big hugs.

Thanksgiving was fun and exhausting as expected...as usual...I ate pie every day for awhile...haha...it happens! Kids were here, fun times! It always seems so quiet after they go.
I scattered more wildflower seeds and I already have some Lupines coming up after the rain. Quite excited. Spring might be spectacular. Hope for the future is amazing medicine for what ails you.

Get out my friends...it's where the goodness is...enjoy.

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

I may have to dig out my Christmas decorations...I put a few up last year, just inside. Outside would be a project, I'm not sure I'm up to!

Enjoyed some leftovers yesterday...

Will be making the "muffins" today, should be tasty!

Did I mention the owl I heard/saw yesterday? turns out he likes to hang out on the neighbor's roof in the early morning, and hoot...this is the first I've seen him!

Thanks Jo, hope you enjoyed your day, and are enjoying this one as well! Do you still have snow?

I love soup season...have a pot simmering of potato leek, yesterday I had the smoked turkey carcass on the stove (dad sent it home with me) and it smelled so good! I'm using that broth in the potato leek....and some of the turkey that came off the bones. Should be good.

I'll be making some "muffins" from the leftover stuffing tomorrow, it's sort of a bread pudding like mixture, the stuffing, more veggies (celery and onion) and eggs...and then either leftover turkey or I may use turkey sausage...I like the flavor the sausage gives, a bit more savory, but the smoked turkey flavor is pretty good as well. Decisions!

Hope you all are enjoying the post-Thanksgiving time....

Jo- I hear you. Yes...the water. The beach in Santa Cruz is about 25 minutes from that farm, so kinda the best of both worlds.
Yes, the farm...haha...I would have a lot of work.

Work and I get along just fine. Keeps me out of mischief...haha. I don't why, but I do well with chores. Crazy eh?

OK, Pies are done, much of prep for tomorrow is done.

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all our American friends.

Morning Deckies!

Choc- Pies...yep, I fight pie stress...meaning, I worry about them coming out just right...but , guess I am getting over that now. I am making several. A french silk, standard pumpkin, caramel apple and pear cream. Yep. Ridiculous. Already made persimmon bars and goat cheese and apricot truffles too...hahaha...Go ahead...say it...
But yes, the menu expands and a lot needs to take place today. Hehe. Maybe I am procrastinating.
Yesterday I also got the persimmon chutney , cranberry/cheery sauce done. Whew!

Choc- I understand about Lexi and the crowds...good plan. well, the best you can do.
And another year for sis helping with the parade. Memories for me, getting to watch the parade on our tv in our jammies. Very exciting for me as a child.

Jo- snow snow snow...as I recall your apartment is on the lower level in your home. Does it stay warm enough? (Hot air rises...lol) My home in MN the lower level was always cold. But the best place in the summer!

Hey...I better get at this. List is long today!
Kay- Yes, I remember when you made that pie, I tried it too and we liked it!
Yes, I too cannot believe no one has stepped up to buy the farm for me. What the heck?
YAy, no more work for you this week. a well deserved break.

Jo-

I made a yummy pecan pie with bourbon a few years ago, had an easy crust made with nuts if I recall correctly, not a flour crust, that made it pretty easy to do!

Yep, Maui, I love butternut squash soup too! This is the third time this season I've made this one, it's so easy, and lots of spices (cumin, cayenne, coriander and turmeric) So good!

I can't believe no one took you up on buying you that house, I mean, it's under 4mil! What's the problem! emoticon

Mary, what are you painting? Hope you got the job done...

Jo, congrats on your winnings! Hope you are able to enjoy the snow from the safety of your home!

No more work for me this week...I don't want to think about what I'll walk into on Monday!

Maui... yup on heading to my sister’s for turkey Day... poor Lexi will have to stay home ... way too many people and commotion for this excitable pup! I could just imagine the pup grabbing the turkey & running around with it LOL! (Sis having 12 people in all there but dinner isn’t until 3:30 so I’ll be with the pup all day & She’ll only be “home alone” a few hours) Lexi and my sister’s big dog get along great (Lexi loves everyone including other dogs & cats)

My sis marches in the Detroit Thanksgiving parade every year... she’s one of the people who handle the HUGE balloons... so her friend is doing the turkey cooking, everyone else brings something to add to the meal... I’m in charge of the pies (which means I go to one of the local grocery stores and buy the pies! LOL... maybe one of these days I’ll get brave and actually try baking one!

Have a great holiday everyone!

Happy Tuesday Deckies!

Mary- Wonderful news you have found your pup! What a scare! A gamer eh?? haha...that goes with the breed eh?
Oh my...the post-eater eh? It happens...
OK..your son arrives today! Enjoy!!!!!! What fun memories. My younger son, who lives locally, is coming over this afternoon to visit and cook with his Mama!

Jo- what? What? A dash cam and a TV...How??? Ahhh, and a snow squall...yes, tis the season it seems. Don't look at my waether, ok? After cool and wet we are hitting 74 today
and 76 tomorrow. My poor plants.

Kay- ahhhh, butternut squash soup, a favorite of mine. I have been roasting squashes from the garden, putting them in the freezer for later this winter , all ready for soup and such.

Choc- you heading over to your sister's for Tday? Will Lexi get to go too?? Does she still have the big doggie? Have they met yet?

Kelpie, I have been missing you, and you have not visited the deck in several weeks. I sure hope all is well, and you are settling back into your routines.

Me, mostly all the same 'ol here, and prepping for Thanksgiving, kids here, games to play, toasts to make...food.
But I have been distracted. I found this property,

www.redfin.com/CA/Ben-Lomond
/900-Pedro
-Ave-95005/home/2372554

Talk about a dream. Check out teh link, and click through...make sure you look at the garden. Its about 35 minutes from my house, still close enough to my kids. Yeah....this is a dream....big dream. I did post on fb and ask if anyone would like to purchase this for me...no offers yet.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=PW6R
dcv-RK8

Here's an ariel view of the property. OK...understand...this farm coasts the same as 2 of my houses...just saying...a WAY better deal. I think I might never leave. Oh ya...and the kitchen. Seriously...some one build a farm for me. My goodness....I am OBSESSED! Haha...of course not even close to being able to afford. But what a DREAM!

OK...Break is over. Pie crusts are done, breads are made, cranberry relish done...piece by piece this comes together. Persimmon chutney and french silk pie, this n that still today. Yep...
Dream ...keep your dreams alive.

What are your dreams?

Yep, I'm doing some prep for Thanksgiving dishes, we're bringing butternut soup, salad and sweet potatoes...hopefully they will travel well! I have Wednesday off so I can finish off my dishes then, in between accupuncture, CrossFit and massage...

Choc, that was a big branch! Glad you got that cleared out in time to enjoy the rain!

I'm heading to Trader Joe's here soon....gotta pick up some staples I've run low on (mostly seasoning at this point, I LOVE their everything bagel seasoning....)

Have a great Sunday!

Happy Saturday before Thanksgiving (here in the States!)

Mary- So good to see your face, hear your voice, like Kay said, glad you found your way back down from Ben Frien! You have been missed my friend.
Yes, Life can be complicated...Hugs.
I am still actively gardening through the winter here, next year's garlic, bread happy, life goes on eh? Currently growing cabbages, turnips, many greens, lettuces, arugula, kale, spicey greens , collards. How do you cook collards??? My first year growing. Also, leeks, cauliflower, beets, favas, yep...and garlic is up already for next year!

Chco- Oh my, that tree...scary stuff, but glad you and Lexi are safe, and the mess already cleaned up.
Swan Lake...ahhhhhh...do you remember I danced ballet as a child , into my teens??

Jo- Wow..that is a lot of steps ... good for you. I am trying to walk more, did 3 hours yesterday, several miles, felt good.

Kay- we had a good downpour this week too...my yard is happy happy!

Thanksgiving preparation has begun!

Trailwalker.... Here's the pic of the "close call" tree branch... the tree trunk on the far left is the rest of the dead tree that is now "gone" thanks to my "friendly handyman" cutting it down and hauling all the logs and branches away.

Rainy day today... got in a short walk with the pup, but rain is increasing now so it's going to be an "indoor day" for me.

Going to see a live performance of the ballet "Swan Lake" tonight with my sister, niece & her daughter and a friend tonight... will be first time I've gone to a live ballet performance, so should be interesting.

Have a Super Saturday everyone! Choc

Glad the pup wasn't playing outside when that tree came down! Scary...will you keep the wood for the fireplace? Do you have a fireplace?

Mary, glad you found your way back from the mists of Ben Frein! Busy time of year...it happens. Hope you can find some quiet time in there as well!

Jo, have fun at your sisters! And the party!

We had a lot of rain mid-week, then a pretty snow shower yesterday morning, but it didn't last long, and melted quickly. It was pretty to see though!

Happy Friday Morning!

Gosh...I went hiking up Ben Frien a while back, got swallowed up by the mist and lost my way back to the deck!

Now I've found you again! Can't wait to catch up on everything you've been doing but just a quick fly by for now...today is another transport mom day...lots of those this time of year...

All is good here just a bit complicated! Weather is gorgeous!

Hope everyone gets outside today!

Kay... yup on more spotted! She’s part Australian Cattle Dog & that’s a trait with that breed... often born mostly white & spots showing as they age. Seems like she’s getting more “freckles” every day! She’s also part Labrador (and I think part mischief LOL)

Cold here this morning! Got down to mid 20’s overnight... Brrrr!

Had part of a huge dead tree blow down in yesterday’s wind... just missed my garden shed & fell in an area of my yard that the pup often plays... glad she was indoors when THAT happened! A local handyman is coming out this morning to cut that up and cut down the rest of the tree... makes me kind of nervous cause it’s a BIG tree! I’m going to hang around while he’s doing the job to make sure he’s “safe & ok”

Heading out in a few minutes to snap a picture of the downed tree (soon as it’s light out)...

Have a fantastic Friday Everyone!

Lexi is a cutie! is she getting more spotted? the baby pic it looks like she has more white in her coat than the later pics...like she's turning dalmatian!

Jo, that's a lot of steps, good for you! I aim for 10,000 a day and generally go a little over, but 20K is pretty rare for me, and generally on the weekend. So I guess we're opposites!

We had rain all day...it's very wet out there! emoticon

Hike I did with the pup Nov. 14th (last day to hike the State Game Area before deer hunting season started...once gun season starts we hike other areas so we don't scare away the game for the hunters... also don't have to worry about "stray shots" LOL)

Lexi is 6 months old this month and growing fast! This next photo is what she looked like when I adopted her at 8 weeks old.

I hear you, Choc! My sciatica was that way, so painful when I first got up in the morning, and it would take a while to settle down...sorry your procedure is so far out, that's a long time to wait for relief! At least your pup can be a fun distraction in the meantime!

Jo, hope the greenery brightens up your home!

Happy Wednesday all! emoticon

Hi Kathy...welcome to the deck!

Sounds like everyone is transitioning into winter weather... same here but not much snow yet ... puppy did experience “cold feet” the other day when we did get just a light dusting of snow.... I can’t wait to see her reaction when we get a good deep snowfall... she just turned 6 months old so it will definitely be a new experience for her!

My one lone cat is still looking for her old deceased cat partner... (who says animals don’t feel grief?) I have noticed that he wants to cuddle with me more than he used to, and he spends more time with the pup now too.

Acupuncture... never tried it but I might check it out in the near future! Went to the doctor yesterday re my aching hip
... replacement surgery is now scheduled for February (the soonest he has an opening for surgery) ... I was hoping to get it done next month and definitely not looking forward to almost 2 more months of pain! This morning was REALLY BAD when I tried to get out of bed!... pain is always worse after staying in one position for a long time so mornings are always bad...anyway hopefully the hip replacement surgery will take care of that problem (2 artificial knees and soon a hip... I’m turning into a robot! LOL!!!)

Taking the pup out for a walk soon.., have a great day everyone!

Choc

Yep, it's that time of year we remember gratitude more! Not that we can't be grateful any time!

It sure is chilly tonight, the wind just really puts a chill in the air, and the weather service is showing rain midweek here...

Still busy at work, but one of my gals is returning to work tomorrow, and the other replacement starts next Monday, so I'm hoping we can get caught up once we're fully staffed!

You're right on there, Maui, I've never (and will never) said "I'm spending too much time outdoors!" Can't be done!

I think I'm over 200 on the pull-up challenge....trying to get to 500 by the end of the month!

We have cooled down, but no snow yet. Mt Rose has a dusting though!

I'm getting my hair cut today (after I forgot my appointment a couple of weeks ago....) and then heading in to work for a few hours.

I'm going with mixed results from the acupuncture, the shoulder knot is definitely softer, my sciatica seems more flared up...maybe the nerve just needs some more calming? I'm going back on Friday, so I'll see what she says.

Happy Weekend Deckies!

Welcome to the Deck Kathy! A Florida surfer! What fun! I too am not a surfer, but I LOVE watching the surfers! I live in California, not far from Mavericks Half Moon Bay. Crazy surf there at times. But I am also close to Santa Cruz where folks surf year round. I do really enjoy snorkeling in Hawaii, in those warmer tropical waters. (I don't tolerate cold very well.
I am a hiker, walker, (Used to be backpacker before back surgery), outdoors is my happy place. I have converted my front yard to a CA Native yard and my back into a veggies garden. So, I get LOTS of extra outdoor time even here at home!

Yesterday I met a friend for a mid day hike, about half way through we got caught in a thundershower...everyone else on the trail was headed back...haha...we just kept heading out. What fun...the air was fantastic. Something I appreciate after the fires this fall...I a m going to call this hike a win! (Once we stopped, I was wet and cold...haha...but a nice adventure)

Kay- 500 and counting! Wow wow wow! Great! And after a day now, do you feel results from the acupuncture? IS this for your back? Mountain gal myself too. The higher altitude, the better.

Jo- SNOW!!! Wow...no pretending any more, say good bye to the warmer temps! We have had a little rain and looks like every other day or so, a little more. Excellent! Today I am going to seed my front yard with some CA Native wildflowers, hoping for a beautiful show in the spring. :) Expert...haha...no, but more educated every day it seems. The yard is coming round quite nicely.
I'll have to figure what I am going to make, weave with my deer grass that I harvested, no drying in bundles. Not baskets, but maybe natural shields. we will see.
Black ice...yikes...scary. I have fallen myself early in the morning walking...just down my driveway onto the street. Not so young though...haha.

Choc- I see you have some cold temps too! Here come's Lexi's learning curve. IS your kitty finding more comfort with Lexi? Hope so. You know, I have no pets any more...sad. It's weird, when I get up, I still go looking for them, or think I need to feed them. I have had a pet my entire life until this summer when the last one died. I am uncertain if I will get another..I do have my hubby and he IS kinda like having a pet. emoticon

Kids visiting this weekend, and hubby has just finished all the floors! I did make breakfast, but yikes...I better get a move on.
Hugs all around

You will never look back on you life and say "I think I spent too much time outdoors".
So...Get out!

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

I was going out this morning to get in some pull-ups and it was raining here, just a little, but enough to dissuade me of that mission! I got in a few at the gym after my yoga class...

It was a crazy work day, and just a crazy day in general. I had a mammogram in the morning, and accupuncture in the afternoon (thought I'd give it a try...my accupuncturist is a very nice gal, and also a CrossFitter!) Those did not leave much time to get my work done! emoticon I guess I'll try again tomorrow!
