Kayaking was great. Didn't feel like going but dh talked me into it. Just a short hop over to that lake near us. Slightly overcast skies. We saw snakes, great blue herons, a muskrat, and a pair of young white tailed fauns - still young enough to have their spots. We also got the closest I have ever been to a red tailed hawk. It was sitting in a tree trying to look regal and fierce while it was being harassed by a small blue jay. We watched them for probably 5 minutes at a distance of about 10 feet. The hawk was so beautiful. I was very glad dh encouraged me to forego my Sunday afternoon nap and take the boats out!

Happy 5th! emoticon We hung out at the neighbors last night and had some bbq (salmon, chicken, and beef skewers with veggies, yum!) and saw a few of the Reno fireworks going off. It was actually very pleasant out, despite the early afternoon storm that blew in (and literally blew everything in our house around!) The wind died down, the sky cleared, really enjoyable.

It's back to the cabling project today!

Maui, you're cabling too, new ISP? And new vision! Larry's took a while to even out, but now he's really happy with the vision, but he had a radial keratotomy, so his eye doc said it would not be perfect right away, and that limited his lens options. Most people have instant great visit after the procedure.

Mary, lots of volunteering opportunities for you! Are you doing all of them? Kudos to you!

Resolved, I love berries, and really miss my boysenberry vines I had in Sacramento...but then I miss a lot of the plants I had there, and the ease of growing them! Hope you enjoyed your kayak outing!

Hi, again! Sounds like everyone is having a fun summer, or at least a tolerable one. I am concerned that I will start growing mold! We have had warm temps and lots of rain every day for about the last 2 weeks. Dh literally can mow one afternoon and see substantial grass growth by the next morning. I have become a grass-widow, he is always gone, out on a mower of some sort, somewhere.

One unexpected "benefit" of the weather is that the wild berries have gone crazy. Not even the wildlife can keep up with them. We had a patch of wild blackberries spring up along one of our fence lines and I have been picking it heavily for about a week and a half. There are still so many berries left that today I am trying to think of who to call that might want to come and pick the rest of them, because I am about "picked out" even if the bushes are not.

Hope to fit in a holiday kayak jaunt this afternoon or early evening. Meeting friends later to go see small-town fireworks over the river. Enjoying the holiday, but looking forward to getting back into my rut next week!

Happy Fourth!

Maui thanks for the link! That is actually one of the sights I visited while doing my research. No thermometer yet but I will be getting one. Wow you do collect the leaves...what a win/win for you and your neighbors!

Kay your beer night sounds like a blast! Have a great ride!

I loaded up my Big Green Egg with Wicked Good charcoal and some cherry wood chunks this morning...cooking up some Barbq which down here means pork with spicy vinegar sauce...I rarely cook pork but it sure is good! Heading out to the beach to hang out on Bobble's dock late in the afternoon when the tide is coming in and the sun is going down...hopefully that will be when everyone else is leaving the beach so the traffic won't too be bad!

So excited about volunteer work I found yesterday! 2 of them start Wednesday!
One is Readingpartners.org - being a reading partner for children in elementary schools where the majority of students receive free/reduced lunches. 'Reading Partners is dedicated to unlocking the skills of students who struggle with reading. We provide one-on-one reading instruction to elementary school students reading below grade level to help them succeed in school and in life.'

Then there's Greenhearts.org "The Green Heart Project is a community-based volunteer organization that integrates school farms as outdoor classrooms in an effort to teach students the virtues of hard work, respect and success and reiterate classroom curriculum while connecting students and volunteers to fresh, healthy, locally-grown produce."

And fieldstofamilies.org where I'll be helping glean fields at local farms. "Fields to Families works to ease hunger in the Lowcountry by gathering nutritious crops from generous farmers and community gardeners. We then distribute the harvest to agencies such as Meals on Wheels, local food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and churches. In turn, these recipient agencies donate this food to the individuals they serve."

Have a wonderful and safe holiday everyone!

Pura Vida!

Happy 4th of July Deckies!

Hope you are all out celebrating.

Mary- So what did you decide for you compost? Hopefully you found some good info. Do you have a compost thermometer? REALLY helpful info to know the temp of the heap.

Kay- Your beer evening out with friends sounds delightful. Did you try the beer infused brownie??? wow! You know, I have heard that of all the meats, beef is the most difficult to digest and medically troublesome from cholesterol , heart disease and cancer causing reactions. BUT...if you marinate beef first in beer, particularly dark beer, all the issues are reduced. So, this place may be a super healthy location to eat! LOL...Sounds good.
We are rewiring this weekend too, lol. Going to change to Sonic for internet. Anyhow...always so much t get done. Guess thats a good thing.
Rain??? Lucky you.
Surgery...yes...mostly excited to get better vision. :)

OK...
How is everyone celebrating?? What going on the grill?

Good morning! Sorry I missed the beer chat/cooler/compost talk, emoticon emoticon but I was actually out enjoying a sip of beer with Larry and friends. We we to a local brewry/restaurant, so most everything was beer infused, including the bread and brownie!

I'm off work today for the 4th, so enjoying a fairly quiet morning, Larry's taking a nap after we did some sanding and painting over the spackle holes he made from recabling the house. He wants to put cables to the new TV/blueray player instead of relying on the wireless, and we'd like to finish up this project before he gets back to the crutches! After the nap we're heading up to Mt Rose for a bike ride.

Mary, we drove through a downpour last night on the way to dinner, and just on the other side of the freeway it stopped entirely, those storms are so interesting!

Maui, good luck with the surgery, that was Larry's first procedure this year, and it went so quickly and smoothly, I don't think we were at the place more than an hour start to finish. They really have that one down!

Ahhhh...I'm in my own inner tube...keeping the beer company emoticon

At 5:30 I got a text that there would be travel team practice & parents meeting tonight at eight...30 min away...I needed to shower, grocery shop & get groceries cooked by 7...then at 7:30 as we're leaving severe weather warnings right where the gym is...yikes, really thought about making son turn us around as we drove from light gray toward black skies...luckily didn't get the 70mph winds the advisory warned about & now safely home...

Nice to have some crick & turtle time with you Maui! Hope other deckies show up too!

"Just do it"! Yep!
Phrase of the day!

Mary- you got it! First of all...just do it! But here's a pretty good link explaining the science basics of composting www.homecompostingmadeeasy.com/carbo
nn
itrogenratio.html

Yep...good thing I am getting surgery...lol...my cataract is worse every day. It's supposed to go slowly...but not in my case. (But I have been known to be competitive...lol)
Constant motion is the way to go too. I employ this strategy often. I put my feet up in between to make sure I can keep going throughout the day too. :)
What you cooking in the kitchen?
Me...over flowing with summer squash...so that's whats for supper here!

Choc- Oh sorry you are still waiting! Maybe soon! I hate waiting.

And back to composting...I use all of my approved kitchen scraps. I gather leaves in the fall for the entire year. :) I volunteer to rake other folks yards if I can keep the leaves. I use spare garbage cans and stuff tons of leaves in them I also have extra in garbage bags in my shed. I works for my neighbors, my compost, I get exercise and make friends being 'neighborly'. :)
And my surgery is the 14. :) I hate surgery...but am looking forward to seeing better.

Ok crick time...rope swing time, inner tubes stuffed with ice chest of beer.
Join me!

Good afternoon Deckies!

Didn't get my walk in this morning...decided instead to make this a constant motion day...been digging in my pots outsides and cooking in my pots inside...experimenting with small batch composting that I started a couple of weeks ago...I was worried about too much nitrogen and a stinky mess so it looks like I erred in the opposite direction and have too much carbon...I'll be adding more stuff from the kitchen to see if I can get that compost cooking...we eat lots of watermelon this time of year so those rinds will come in handy (I think)...like Kay I'm experimenting...I did start a journal 3 weeks ago so I can look back at what worked (and what didn't!)...

Kay - I'm happy you got a nice rain...some scary thunder here just a few hours ago, skies darkened but no rain ): I'm glad Larry had a nice long appointment and got all his questions answered...can't blame him for being bummed though, always disappointing when recovery takes much longer than expected...I don't have any purple basil but do have lots of the green stuff...eating some with every meal...need to pull some plants to make room for seedlings that need larger living quarters!

Maui - when is your surgery? Glad you're getting some nice hikes in! I was thinking of you as I was doing some composting research...thinking "I bet Maui would know exactly what mixture of leaves and kitchen scraps is needed!" Right now my plan is to add fruit and veggie scraps until things start to heat up but if things start to stink I'll add more brown leaves! The best advice I read while researching was don't overthink and worry about getting things perfect - "just do it" - especially this time of year when the heat makes composting easier.

Choc - good luck with the house and the extra doggie!

O.K. ...I had a couple of bills to pay online so thought I'd drop by the deck while on the computer...now time to get back in constant motion!

Think I'll pop back in for a dip in the creek later!

Pura Vida!

Another "fly-by".... Still haven't heard any more from the couple who were interested in my house :-( but I was told they were out of town from last week through yesterday (Wed) so I'm hoping that they are still interested and that we'll hear from them soon... Even with that said, it's still frustrating to have my hopes up and not hear back .... Oh well

Going to be "dog-sitting" my sister's big Bernese Mountain Dog for the next three weeks (sis will be on a "land & sea" tour of Alaska) ought to be interesting 3 weeks with 3 dogs & 2 cats running around here!!!!

Hope everyone has a GREAT holiday weekend!

Good morning all !

Happy Thursday!

Kay- Ok...so another journey...and know you both know more about exactly what it'll be. wonderful the doc took time to address questions and had you at the end of the day to allow for this. Good. I can just imagine Larry is feeling quite overwhelmed with the next 3 months or so...but like you said it has to be done. Aren't we lucky to live in a time when this is an option!

You got rain! Woohoo! Not here...humid though. Had a nice warm and muggy walk this morning.
I bet your garden plants said thank you. The water from the sky seems to nourish my plants better than the chlorinated water from the hose. I think a garden journal is a good idea.

Like Larry, I am trying to get things 'buttoned up' here before surgery. Surgery is always scary. Luckily mine has a good success record. (Cataract /lens replacement)

OK...hope everyone is having a good week and looking forward to the 4th!

I made it to the deck tonight! emoticon Just feel like there has been no time lately...but Larry's working on a project so I have a few minutes... emoticon ahhhh...

The appointment took a while, it was for 4:15, but I don't think we got out of there until almost 6:00! But the doctor gave us a lot of time, explained what he thinks needs to be done, answered a ton of questions, and did all the pre-op stuff (risks, consent, etc). So we go back for the third surgery on this ankle on the 24th. It was going to be this Friday or the 24th, so Larry picked later, he's got lots to do before he's back on the crutches and back in the boot again. And another 6 weeks non-weight bearing...my guy is not a happy camper! emoticon But he knows it needs to be done and we'll be better in the long run with his ankle fully fixed and not coming apart!

We got a downpour of rain last night, really made the desert smell great! I think we have Mary to thank for that! emoticon

I've eaten one tomato, it was so pretty too....and some radishes, but most have bolted. I guess too much heat for those poor things! My purple basil looks great, and some of my dill are growing pretty well. It's hit or miss, some areas they're growing OK, some, not so much, but since this was an experiment with the seeds, I'm OK with it. I should take notes for next year!

Happy July 1 !

Mary- Posting while walking...uh oh...lol...

Your story about your son is hysterical. I bet he didn't think so. Poor guy. Did he explain to you what he think happened?
Glad he was able to play well. whew! Do these 2 talents go together?

Had to work outside early. Hot again.

Snow- are you up near 109??? Ack..hope you are staying cool. Did you go to the gym yet? It's too hot to do the trails.

Today, I had to pick all my lettuce. I did it early before the heat...No I have enough for a week or more. Hope hubby like big summer salads for supper...every night for awhile. Too much heat for the poor greens.

Tomatoes are looking fine though. :)

Snow- I was thinking about you yesterday on my hike. And was pleased to not even be sore this morning. (Guess the farming helps) Anyhow...miss you. :(

What's everyone doing for 4th of July? We will likely join a BBQ time with our friends...tradition.
No fireworks. Too too dry.
But many ways to celebrate.

What are your plans/traditions?

Posting while walking...wish me luck! emoticon I often have close encounters with trees or parked cars while multitasking!

Final Tuesday night of 3 basketball games last night...11pm when we got home...

Son played well but had an epic fail off court...while pulling a large rolling cooler from one court to another he somehow managed to tip it over longways...?????...a feat only a 16 year old boy can accomplish! That cooler was heavy! What a mess in the entrance of the rec center & no access to a mop...but with the help of other parents & me he got the floor dried up...I missed the spill but coach & other parents saw it...described as a slow motion train wreck! Ha ha...every evening needs a little comic relief! Ok...better go before I run into something or trip on a root & have my own train wreck!

Have a great day!

Hey Deckies! What you doing? I know Wood is up dodging weather adventures in Canada...how about everyone else?

Kay- How'd Larry's appointment go? Hope you are getting to work out still. Are you walking in this heat?

Hobbes- Hey...how are you??? Hows the summer theater going???
Miss you.
I trust all is going well. I forget , is this outdoor theater? Its been hotter than typical up there yes? Super hot here again today.

I made it out on a hike today...a 7 miler hilly hike. (Snow- up in Fremont Older) Felt great even though it was hot. It had been awhile.
A mom of one my my grown up 4Hers, wanted to chat, I suggested a hike/chat...she agreed!
Yay.

Maybe we should all head down to the creek...Summertime fun. Pre 4th...

OK...what did you do outside today?

Good Morning !
Mary-Thanks for the wish for showers... we can always hope, right?
Happy doggie...always good. Bet he feels like new, lighter and free.

Choc- I still have my fingers crossed...any news? Wow...sorry you are getting so much rain. Hard for me to imagine...but I bet its really green!

Kelpie- speaking of news, any word on a job for the fall?
I had a dear friend here yesterday, (He was in our wedding and my buddy since I was 11). He brought over his newest toy... a 69 Citroen ds...he named her Jannette. She Burgundy,

just like this one. www.conceptcarz.com/z20731/Citroen-D

He took us for a ride...amazing. The most comfy seat I have ever sat in...ever...I bet Jacques has ridden in one. I was telling my friend about our visit, he said "you had the best visit to France ever!" Yep...the real deal.

Kay- OK..next steps for Larry...well...glad its soon so he doesn't have to wait. Is his pain manageable. Are you getting any smoke from that fire in Markeleville?

Cooler here right now, but heading back up to triple digits ...whew...more heat. But I feel more adapted...not so much in shock any more.

All is well...
Have a great Monday.

More showers yesterday! emoticon emoticon

Took Harry for our first walk in weeks emoticon today...nice little 2.mile stroll much of it creek side...his exercise lately had been very short retrieving sessions in the driveway...it was too hot emoticon & his fur was too long for more...it's cooler & he had a haircut so he's a very happy little pooch!

Hoping to paddle at dusk but if I get rained out like I did yesterday that's ok too!

Wishing you all showers (except Choc I think she can use a break) & pleaant temperatures as well!

Hi all... Just a quick flyby... Been a crazy weekend so far!

Yesterday's house showing went really well...(this was a couple that toured my house 2 weeks ago & came back for a second tour yesterday).... They seem very interested, with their realtor & mine exchanging their questions & my answers re more "house info" all day yesterday and again today... I'm hoping they will make an offer soon since they seem so interested (hoping and at the same time kind of "sad" since I've lived here 26 years & it will be emotional to leave... But it's time, so whatever happens I'll "cope" & move forward)

Really chilly, pouring heavy rain and very windy here all day long today... Almost like a fall day instead of almost July!

Gotta go... Chores still not done... Will try to catch up tomorrow.

Good afternoon deckies!

Taking a break from shelling CSA peas to track my food on Spark...it's time for me to get sparking again! emoticon Hearts are still heavy here but continuing to heal. I watched (on television) the 4 hour service for Reverend Pinckney (who was also a state senator) yesterday. President Obama gave a very touching eulogy.

Gosh Maui I hope you get some relief from that heat! We had 14 straight days of 95+ temps and no rain but got a little break with an overnight shower on Wednesday and another last night...partly cloudy today and only 85...what a difference 10 degrees makes! I started some seeds 3 weeks ago and boy did they germinate with all the heat...now have lots of babies to take care of...not big enough to handle the heat or a pounding thunderstorm so I'm moving them in and out...hoping I'll have some nice lettuce, arugula, mustard greens and herbs in the fall & maybe another crop of cucumbers and tomatoes! emoticon
Very clever using electricity to keep your fig tree squirrel-free!

Kay I hope you get those thunderstorms! Happy that Larry can drive again! A college friend who lives a couple of hours away had foot surgery and can't drive...she had her daughter drive and drop her down here last week and we spent a couple of nights at mom's beach house...we mostly hung out on the porch since she can't get her foot wet but also some shopping!...not sure what my boys ate while I was gone but they survived and I had a nice little break!

Choc glad you're staying safe through all those storms! Hope the second showing went great!

Wood I am hopping on that magic carpet right now! Can't wait to splash around in those pristine waters! Have a wonderful trip my friend!

Pura Vida emoticon & Peace emoticon

That sounds like a nice vacation, Wood, I think I will join in! I sure need one after this week (and our plans for a summer vacation have been dashed once again, not sure I'll get a 'real' summer vacation this year...) emoticon

Larry's next appointment is Tuesday, so I'll meet him over there, now that he can drive, I don't have to chauffeur him around, but this doctors office is right across the street from the hospital, so it doesn't get much more convenient than that for me!

I've been AWOL this week on Spark, or at least my computer has been...it decided to stop working, but now Larry has taken a look and I'm back up again.

I had heard we might get some thunderstorms this weekend...that would make it interesting! Unfortunately it's so dry, they added a fire watch to the mix.

Good Morning Deckies! It's going to be toasty here today! likely 100+ again...must be creek time!

Choc- Good to know you are well after those storms. whew...Scary and sad about the he dairy farmer. Glad your home is well , just wet.
And folks coming back for another visit! woohoo! Yes...fingers crossed for a good and fair offer ...
You still able to get out to hike in between drops??

Wood- Our adventurer...love your schedule! :)
And,,,wow...I have never heard of a cataract disappearing...I wish I didn't have to have surgery, but am really looking forward to seeing better. The disparity in my eyes has been causing bad headaches. So...likely this is the prudent decision. :)

Here, I am busy taking out plants and buses as they die...sad, but I am adapting...Many are still doing fine with added water from bucket carrying. (We are catching water from shower and kitchen sink) I even have a few tomatoes surviving. And the best news of all...I caught my 3rd squirrel yesterday. Yes!

Thursday...almost Friday...Weekend here. Not sure what we have on deck...still looking for towel bars for my new bathroom. LOL...who'd have though this would be such a hard job...sheesh. So...step b step! I'll be glad when we can move onto new project and adventures. But it's looking quite nice, nothing fancy, but a greatly improved shower, which is great!

OK...happy Thursday to everyone.
Stay cool or dry! Exercise is always good...
Get outside if you can...
Life is good!

Good morning Choc!

Yep! Your weather becomes our weather. Just a couple of days later. Looks like a couple more storms this afternoon. We didn't get any tornadoes but we sure got plenty of wind, lightning and rain. Man have we gotten rain!!!! Fingers crossed on that offer!

Maui - Yep! No shortage on fun right now! Our activity level has been crazy even for us! Last night went to see another play at a local playhouse. This time it was "The Adams Family - The Musical". It was really good (and funny)! Took a couple of our grand kids. We were told it was a family production. Well they certainly enjoyed it but they may have learned a few things about the interactions between men and women! LOL! Yep, it was a pretty sexy production! Made me smile! Hey! Sorry to hear about the eye! Always something isn't it!? About 10 years ago I had a cataract on my right eye that was really screwing with my vision and was told I would have to get it removed. It miraculously disappeared!!!! My eye doctor tells me that's impossible, but hey it happened!

I don't know where everyone is but I hope you're all having fun! I'm about to become real irregular for a while as well. Will be picking up Mom this evening. Then taking her to Canada on Saturday. No WIFI. Other trips over the next month: a wine festival in Watkins Glen, NY; a camping dance weekend at Gettysburg, PA; a local camping trip with our grandson for his 10th birthday; and then another trip to Canada with the family! Yep, Maui, I'm having fun!

Lots to do, including getting some real exercise in! Have a great day everyone!

Life is good!

Maui... Yup we had really bad storms Monday afternoon and then another round of storms that night up until about 2am! Couple tornadoes north of me but just really heavy rain, wind, thunder & lightning here... I had put most of my hanging plants & potted plants in the garage so most survived & no storm damage here (but north of me a dairy farmer lost a huge barn & about 40 of his cows... Very sad)

I've been cleaning and prepping my house & yard like crazy... Have another house showing Friday morning for a couple that came to see my house last week... So this is the first time since my house listed that anyone is coming back for a second look! Hoping they might make an offer (but trying not to get "too excited", LOL)

Sorry to hear about your eye troubles! Hope all works out for you! HUGS!!!!

Wood, I think you got the same storms we did ... Stay safe!!!!!

Getting late, going to try to get some sleep ... Night all .... Choc

Just keep swimming!

dry dry dry...hot hot hot...oh well...

Lord willin and the crick don't rise...we will all survive the storms and drought.

Wood- You having fun??? Sure hope so.

Kay- so...next steps for Larry's ankle? Sheesh...poor guy...poor you...

Choc- i saw Michigan was really having some scary weather. Did you get everything inside in time? How did your place do??? Hope all is OK...

Mary- thinking about you this week...what a week in history in your area.

Wood- you wondered where everyone is...me too! I have kind of a good excuse...
I am having more and more trouble reading! Went to the eye doc, and have to have a lens replaced! What??????????????????? My cataract is dramatically worse and I have a pre-op on Friday and decide exactly what kind of lens! Go figure. I had this cataract appear about 10 months ago and now it is making life difficult. So, I get a new lens.
Maybe my typos will lesson, eh? hehe...

But where is everyone? Summer fun I hope.

OK...time for some pool time for me. Anyone want to join me?

storms, storms and more storms. If only we could ship some of them to you west coast people. I think we had storms every day since last Thursday. BTW, never did get any kayaking in over the weekend. All the streams were at flood stage and didn't feel like lake kayaking.

So where is everyone?

Just sayin.

Just popping in for a quick post (hope to have more time later to read through the posts I've missed).... Really hot & humid here with severe thunderstorm watch for later (possible hail, high winds & tornado later)... So I've gotta go bring in as many of my potted & hanging plants as possible before the storms hit... Hoping it won't be as nasty as they are predicting... Will try to get back here later... Have a safe Monday everyone... Choc

Good Morning my dear Deck friends.

As so often happens here, I am yet again feeling very blessed to be a part of the special place we call our deck. So regularly I find one of you has shared yet another experience that reflects there is such good in the world. And responses from other deck members sharing love, peace and a collective spirit of peace and hope for this place we call home.

I do believe 'we shall over come', tat there is good reason to hope, that love is what heals.

Thanks for my friends for being here and reminding us all.

Mary, you are one special lady my friend. Extra hugs sent your way.

Kay, sorry to hear the news about Larry's ankle. Great for him to know he did nothing wrong...I can only imagine how that kind of worry would 'wear' on him. Glad you were able to get some facts sooner than later, since the unknowing is so hard. Hugs to you too as you continue down this healing journey with Larry. More time is all. He is healthy, so will eventually 'get there'.

I had a ridiculously busy , but good few days here.
Visiting with 'kids', to celebrate Father's day.
Also some great news...on the vermin front. Caught another squirrel and...set up our first electric fence on our fig tree. Its an ever producer all season...so we have it hot wired , LOL Hubby spent much of yesterday rigging it up. This morning twice, I have seen a squirrel, sitting on the ground just past the 'skirt' of the tree...looking, wringing its forefeet, pacing back and forth. Must have tried to climb the tree. They'll get a good bite, but won't be killed. lol...

The fig tree does not require as much water and we will try and keep it going through the drought.

We are slowly moving into our bedroom and bathroom. Still little projects left but a lot is done! We put up the last of the 3 lights in the bathroom and teh new fan works GREAT!

Hope everyone had a super duper weekend.
Off to my list...

Love to all of you today.
Share the hope, peace and good as you navigate your part of the world today.

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

Happy Father's Day!

Wood...I hope you had a wonderful time kayaking with your boys yesterday! How nice that you got an early gift when your former colleagues reminded you how you still influence them & young teachers that you have never met! Clearly you are still inspiring teachers & students in Allentown! Yes sadly there is no denying that racism exists. The words I posted are Dr. King's words although I didn't realize until today. I read them days ago in a letter to the editor - they stayed with me so I posted them...tonight I saw them on a poster with MLK "signed" at bottom...Just came back from another incredible community gathering...this one on the bridge that spans our harbor...

Kay...thank you...hope you had a great swim...jealous of your cool mornings...steamy 24 hours a day here lately...hoping Larry's ankle gets fixed asap

Mary - Your post made my skin tingle! I am so proud of you for being part of this vigil! The joining of hands by people of all colors and all backgrounds fills the void left by this appalling act of violence! For 33 years I taught in an inner-city school and although I taught English some years and Reading others, my curriculum always included books, poems, films and music that worked at alleviating prejudices and worked toward appreciating diversification! I believed, strongly, that America was headed in the right direction, even though an African American friend of mine told me I was deceived! After I retired and moved to my rural paradise, I found out just how right she was! Much to my dismay, I have found that racial prejudice is still alive and thriving! I am at a total loss trying to understand this ignorance in our modern world.

I love your ending to your post and with your permission I will quote it. "...darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." Beautiful!!!

Thanks for being part of the solution!

You're one of the people that make life better!

Last Saturday I was at the College of Charleston watching my son play basketball. Yesterday I was in the same arena with thousands of community members exchanging hugs and "I love you's" with each other after we sang We Shall Overcome at the conclusion of a vigil to support those families who lost their loved ones Wednesday night. The arena is less than 300 yards from Mother Emanuel A.M.E. church. Unbelievable and horrific what has happened here. The shooter from a town 120 miles away coming here to start a war between the races. Instead he took 9 of Charleston's most faithful, beautiful people and left their families forgiving and praying for the killer despite their grief.

Complete, respectful silence as we place flowers in front of the church. Anderson Cooper across the street on a platform speaking into his microphone. Surreal.

The killer chose the wrong city if he wanted violence. Even through incredible pain the families and the rest of the community understand that darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.

Larry's ankle is pretty messed up, so we're fairly sure he'll be getting at least one more surgery, but he had a CT scan on Thursday (thankfully I know the gals in that area and they got him in that day!) so we're waiting to hear from the ankle doc the results of that. His first doc called him and they talked for awhile, so Larry's feeling better that he didn't do anything to mess it up, it seems it was going to happen anyway, just bad luck, and a severe injury to begin with.

Another cool morning, I'm enjoying my morning cup of joe, and trying to decide what to do on this lovely day!

Good morning OP!

Lot of rain last night, but a reprieve this morning! The boys and I are going to do our father's day float this afternoon, since the younger one is going to the shore and leaving on Sunday. Thunderstorms are still in the forecast so we'll see what happens.

Never made it to the shelter yesterday. The place where we're building this shelter is about an hours drive and a little over half way my truck decided to lose it's brakes! Yes, my truck has been a pain lately. Got it home and it's once again in the shop!

Choc - Like Maui, I enjoy hearing about your new hiking buddy as well. Being "out" is almost always good. Being out with a close friend who you've made a connection with is a gift. Cherish it.

...and speaking of gifts, Maui, I'm glad you see these simple pleasant visits with your son as blessings. I especially liked this line you wrote :" Accepting , enjoying, living in the moment, experiencing the joy. Nice. " So many of the real joys of life are too often taken for granted and we miss being moved by the "little things". Glad you see them and embrace them.

Kay - I'm real sorry to hear about Larry's ankle! I'm sure he's very frustrated! How did the doctor appointment go yesterday.

Snow - Thanks for sharing the time with the hummingbirds yesterday. Does this house have a pool as well?

Reso - I think that a more "normal" life to you is probably a very interesting life to the rest of us here.

I liked Maui's sign off yesterday.

Go hug someone!

Australian wine and dine? Was vegemite on the menu? Have fun lugging the lumber, Wood!

Maui and Choc, thanks for the well wishes for Larry, hopefully we'll get some good info this morning, we see the ankle specialist this morning...Larry's made his list of questions.

Really enjoying the cool mornings we get here, it really starts the day out right, especially since it's been heating up lately!

Good morning OP!

A really fast quickie and then I'm gone!

Got to leave soon to work on the Hiking Club shelter. Today's a lumber carrying day again for me. Starting the porch.

Went to an Australian wine and dine last evening! Wonderful!

Looks like I might work in the rain again. Oh well.

Maui... Sounds like your visit with your son was awesome! Good times!

As for my neighbor-hiking buddy, we're not only neighbors but actually were childhood friends before we ended up as neighbors! (Small world, LOL) Her parents and mine were good friends who often visited each other, so as kids we often had chances to play together (she grew up on a farm just like I did) ... About the same year I built my house she and her family built on 10 acres on the same lane I live on! We often had "coffee breaks" a couple times a week, and just this past spring she's gotten interested in hiking, (so now we do our hike and THEN have our coffee break when we get back!)

Morning Deckies!

Kay- Oh no !!!!!!!!! So sorry to hear such news. OK...I am sure you know, the docs can do more magic and put this ankle back together...again...just s much delay in recovery. So sorry. He is lucky to have you there. Hugs to you my friend. Hang in there...sheesh. Sending healing energy to Larry.

Wood- Wonderful story. I too not surprised. You have a talent for balance, hard worked for over all these years...life is definitely good my friend. Work hard , play hard, always fully present living life. Congratulations on yesterday. Many folks might have missed to opportunity to reconnect. You went! Thanks for sharing! It's a good thing to share!

I went yesterday to visit my older son. Good trip...long as usual. But he was in great spirits which was nice. we worked together, ate a lovely pizza lunch and more chores...Its truly a blessing in my life to be in a place where I can just enjoy these visits. Accepting , enjoying, living in the moment, experiencing the joy. Nice.

Hi Mary. :) How is June treating you?

Choc- I am really enjoying hearing about you getting out hiking with this new hike buddy. What a a good good neighbor. And you can guide her on all your trail places. Just perfect.

Life is Good my Deck Friends.
Smile. Love. Hug someone.

How nice to hear those things, Choc is right, we don't know what we may do that has an influence on the people we touch...it's nice that you got to find out!

Got some bad news yesterday about Larry's ankle injury...it's coming apart again, so we're headed to an ankle specialist tomorrow for a second opinion. We were originally going to have to wait 2 weeks, but his current doctor (and his wonderful nurse) used some magic and moved it up to tomorrow...we're hoping for some better news!

Had a really nice thing happen to me yesterday. I drove the 2 hours (4 hours round trip) to the city I had taught in for 33 years to attend a party for those retiring from my old school. I went because one of those being set free from the bondage of a daily job was a paraprofessional who had worked with me for about 20 years or so. She was not a certified teacher. In fact, she had only a high school diploma, but she loved our tough kids and had a passion for her job and I'm sure made a difference in the lives of many many kids over the years she was there. She was not only a great asset to my program, she became one of my best friends in the school.

However, the highlight of the day, for me, turned out not to be Linda's retirement but a really flattering conversation I had with a young woman who was in her second year of teaching when I retired. She had just been named "The Outstanding Teacher of the Year" in the Allentown School District. She told me that in the speech she had given at the banquet that was to honor her and other outstanding educators. She had talked about an older "philosophical" teacher who had taught her so much about the realities of the classroom and the influence that teachers had on the lives the inner city students: a Mr. L----- M-----. That's me!!!!!! Then in her speech she quoted several of the things that I had passed on to her! Now just how cool is that!? Talk about getting a big head!!!!! So several times throughout the evening, young teachers that I had never met came up to introduce themselves to me and told me how nice it was to meet this mentor that they had heard so much about! BTW, from what I understand a lot of what they had heard about me was not about me as the educator, but was more about the mischief I got into. LOL!

Pretty potent stuff for an old retired guy!

Had to brag. Sorry!

Tonight, it's a "wine and dine"! Who untied me anyway?!

Life is good!

Wood

emoticon Cheers! How about starting the morning with a nice cup of coffee? The swimming hole was perfect last night, twinkly stars out, cool water, nice breeze...laughing and splashing around! emoticon emoticon

I'm off today, Larry has 2 doctor appointments, and I mistakenly thought the first one was in the morning....so now I have the morning to head out for a walk/hike! Get it done while it's cool out.... emoticon

Twister? Really? You know it had to be a guy who came up with that game! Probably a teenager as well! Think about it! How else could a guy get so tangled up with so many girls? Ever seen it played with just guys? I didn't think so!

So let the game begin!

I do appreciate all the decoratios on the deck, but anybody up for going down to the swimming hole? The stars are bright and it's been a really hot day!

Another year of adventure!

Life is good!

Party time!

Happy Birthday Wood! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

OK...so...first...That Brandy we had last night...hehe...great way to get this party started!

Now for tonight's celebration...

We have the Tapas Bar set up, Sangria, wine, brandy, the pool is decorated.
The tree house is lit up with Snow's little white lights, Thanks Snow!

Kay and Hobbes set up the telescope star gazing for later, all the pool toys are all out, the wine cellar is open for later.

Kelpie and Mary put lights on the roller coaster so we can night ride.

Choc- decorated the pool slide and left a trail of lights leading back toward the waterfall and wine cellar so we can find it later.

Miss Jaq has been setting up the dance floor and selecting music...so we are gonna dance too!

KB---you crack me up...Twister ???? you are gonna win this one I bet.

I got all the musical instruments out...we have guitars, tambourines, bells, several set of bongo drums of all kinds, yep, when have enough to drink ...we are going to make some music! hehe...an alto sax for me (Since on the deck I play a mean sax)

OK peeps...what else you bringing?
Lets get this party rockin. I hope you all slept well last night, cause we might just stay up all night!

Here's to Wood!

OK...

Went hiking with a friend this morning, and as we hiked along a back road we both VERY QUICKLY jumped to the other side of the road when a SKUNK suddenly poked it's head out of the tall grass on the edge of the road RIGHT NEXT to us!!!! I think the skunk was just as surprised as we were because it disappeared back into the grass just as quickly as we scrambled to the other side of the road! Needless to say, that was an unexpected bit of excitement to an otherwise "typical" hike, LOL!!!!

I explained to everyone at yesterdays party that it was the only time my granddaughter and I would be the same age. She is 12 and I'll be 6 6 and 6 and 6 equals?

When her father ( my son) turned 14, I was 41!

A good friend of mine from a previos gym turned 34 when I turned 43.

Life is fun!

I'm not a fan of AC either, although I do appreciate it at times...

We may actually head out to last weeks planned bike ride today, if we can get out early enough! Headed north (into CA) to a lake about 2 hours away, so I don't want to get out too late. Last week we were going to head up there, but ended up frittering the morning away, and by the time we were ready to go it was way past noon....just didn't seem like a good idea to head up then, so we went local. Today I hope we actually see the lake! emoticon

Hey snow!

Have to say I translated your new name as Snob Linda Gain & was perplexed until realizing a W would make snow! Blind again

Indoors all day for HS Bball at local college...3 games & waits in between...gosh I really am not a fan of a/c...freezing in those gyms (if you're not a player)

I'm ready for some fresh air & stargazing in a hammock!

Pura Vida!

Hi everyone, just read up on all the recent posts . Gosh Wood, I was shocked to hear that it was your creek area that had the accident , it breaks my heart to even imagine what happened to all those fish, and other wildlife that it will affect as well. I'm sad, makes me mad too.

Maui, that red oak closet door sounds beautiful, when you finish it you should give it a name ! ( Big Red?)
Email me some photos of your work!! I want to see!!

I am spending extra time laying in bed this morning, enjoying week number 2 in my new place. I have 2 beds to be built yet, those rooms are full of boxes, things to decorate with, but beds need to go up first, so we just keep the doors shut for now. Getting a bit more settled in, boxes clearing out gradually. It's a lot yo do, but we break it up with visits to our sons, even watched a movie mid day with he and my DIL. We shared pizza and the both of them cell asleep before it ended! We tip toed out and let the kids rest .

emoticon Today is going to be hot again, was 109 yesterday while I ran errands! I blew up rafts and beach balls, we are going to relax, and play. No gym, no exercise , walking the dogs several times a day, what a stuff off I am. I think Wood and I had better team up for some weight loss strategies! I haven't found my scale yet... I imagine the worst, my routine no longer exists... How do I get started ? Guess Monday I will visit 2 local gyms... Gotta find some good classes!
I have tied myself up with Wood.... As a joke, but now I see I cannot untie the knot! Oh... He is appearing to enjoy this. " bondage" just a little too much.... Just sayin'. ......... ***SNOW***

Kay, it seems I ended the week with a bang as well. It was my oldest grand daughters birthday today and she wanted to go kayaking. So that's what we did. ( not my stream but another nice one). Ended up out there in a thunderstorm. Just kept it intereting.

More storms tonight. Thundering now.

Would someone please untie me now?

Wow, Woods all tied up.... emoticon Is it helping? Water weight coming off? I suppose some pool time might help as well!

Sorry to hear about your creek as well, Wood, hope the damage doesn't affect your little slice of heaven in the end...

Yep, Maui, glad it's Friday! I've switched my training day to Friday (from Monday) because of some schedule issues with Iain, and I've come to really enjoy it. I end the week with a bang so to speak! emoticon

Choc, sorry your hike got rained out, we had a surprise thunderstorm mid-week, and a LOT of rain out of it. I turned my sprinklers off on Weds since there was so much rain....but turned them back on this morning, as we are now heating up again!

Larry's doing great, we see the doc again on Tuesday, and hopefully the staples will come out and he can get back out of the boot again (and maybe be able to drive again!) emoticon

Glad your truck is an easy fix! I always hate car trouble of any kind because I have to trust that the service dept & mechanic are being honest about what's wrong or needs fixing (my car knowledge is limited to pumping gas, changing a tire or checking the oil)

Another rainy, stormy day here... Had to cancel my morning hike with a friend because of the downpour (on the plus side, I won't have to water my flowers)
Maui... Sure wish I could send this rain your way!!!!

Gotta go feed my dogs & cats... Be back later... Choc

Coffee ...Yes yes Please! I am sore from yesterday, had skunks awaken me, and its going to top 100 degree temps again today! Thank you for serving! May I have a massage too? Very achy after painting and diggin potatoes yesterday. Tired pup today.

Wood- Great news about your truck !. You know...I suspect the weight is partially water etc...when I eat out the preservatives, salt etc...cause me to gain every time. So if you eat out every day...it adds up. So...when you head to the lake you can swim away, right?

Mary- you are so right about the creek 'friend'. This is what I appreciate so much about this deck family. They 'get it'. This is why the drought is so hard on me...I am having to choose which friends to let die from thirst...ack!
I think I'll join you for a ride on 'Life' too! Great idea!

Kay- Friday!!!! I bet this was a long week...so...here you are at the weekend. Hopefully you can catch your breath.

OK...Wood- Intervention...
How about an active party? With healthy food and water?
Relay races in the pool?
Noodle water fight? Chicken fights?

HELP!!!! I need some serious intervention! This week has had a social event every single day (none today) and every single one of them involved food! I have gained 8 pounds since Sunday!!!!!!!! Now it's hot and humid here and some of the weight is indeed water weight, but that's not any conciliation! So somebody tie me up and feed me only veggies and water for the next 3 days! Please don't untie me no matter how much I plead! Well maybe we should untie the knots for some serious exercise time, but then back to the bondage! Oh and after all that water maybe we better allow a few bathroom breaks as well, but, seriously, I need help!!!

However, "Les Miserables" was excellent! Very professional production for a dinner theater. Great music!

Okay, Mary, maybe a quick ride on "Life" before I'm made a captive!

I checked out my truck's problem yesterday and decided it's a problem I can fix. Stopped at the Dodge dealership and picked up the parts on my way to the play last evening! Wonder why cars are so expensive today? I needed a little plastic bushing about the size of my thumbnail. Keep in mind it's plastic!!! $17!!!!! I thought it was a mistake and pointed it out to the parts guy. No mistake.

Oh well. Time to serve my time! Could my water be in the form of coffee this morning? Please?

Be tough!!

Wood

Yes...cooling in the pool sounds wonderful...& maybe some rides on Life screaming as loudly as we can to decompress & to remind us of life's ups & downs...

Wood- Ok...good good...when I am stressed...exercise is the best for my mental health. If I could chop a cord of wood, dig a trench, you know the drill...always a good option.
Les Miserables...Super. Have you seen it before? One of the greats.

Kelpie- So anxious to hear how the baby weekend went and how you are getting along this week. Thinking about you. emoticon emoticon

You my recent trip to France and visiting Kelpie...I learned more about the French history and some more of what led up to the revolution. From the moment we stepped foot onto Versailles property...I understood more about the 'People's Voice' and struggle.

Choc- Great as always to catch up today. :) emoticon

OK...I dug about 60lbs of potatoes today. We have ridiculous heat and so, my taters needed to come inside. I cannot water enough to keep them. So..In super hot temps...I dug...whew...

Night 2 of zucchini, patty pan and potatoes for supper with a bit of salt, butter and garden tarragon.

Ok...time to finish supper.

Walked down to my stream this afternoon. Everything looked so normal here: minnows along the edges, heron hunting, no dead fish that I could see. However the damage was several miles upstream. We'll see what happens.

Took your advice Maui and got in some exercise. You're right, it helps. Was going to call you and let you know that I thought you were right, but got distracted. Anyway, thanks for caring.

Going to see Les Miserables at a dinner theater tonight. More calories!!!! Looking forward to it anyway!

Morning everyone!

I have read all the posts...wow...I have finished painting I think...whew...long days.

Choc- you are really getting in some mile! Good for you! Glad you got out of the hot tub in a storm...lol.

Wood- OMGosh...I did hear about the spill. I am so sorry. So tired of humans and what they do to this glorious planet. And the truck too! Whoa...
Hang in there...
Maybe , since you cannot go to build its time to do some kind of exercise. That's a lot of emotions...I always find getting a good work out helps. Find a way today my friend. Sheesh...
You'll feel better.

Snow- Sounds like you are doing really well. Very nice. Your wildlife sightings are perfect. Hopefully soon and washer and drier.

Hobbes- Summer theratre...Nice! Set building ...wow...I have not done that for years. but what fun!

Mary- Pancake took a dive eh? It happens...lol.

Miss Jaq- Wow..what a wild ride! Glad you got to meet up with Wood and Luv...some of the best people I know. :) And a picnic...very nice.
Hope the rest of your journey went smoothly!

Kay- Excellent new...Larry's surgery went well! And now this is behind you! Forward ho!

OK...I am exhausted...lol...but work is coming along. Yesterday I got the painting finished. Not perfect...but whoosh...tired pup here. Mostly its my silly hands that are over done a bit.
Tomorrow they come with teh glass for my shower!

Off and running!

Wood- Isn't it time to party soon??? Theme? Requests?
Pool time tonight, ok? (Its super hot here. and I bet you could use a cool down too.

Oh Wood! That's terrible about your stream! Another part of nature ruined by humans! (I did see that fire on the news)

Snow... Enjoyed our text-visit yesterday ... Still giggling over some of the "spell check auto corrects, LOL"

Just got back from a 4 mile hike (not as "hot & hilly" as yesterday's 6-miler so I'm feeling much better than I did after yesterday's hike!).... Off to run some errands, then need to mow my lawn (that will add another 2 miles to my pedometer by the time I "circle" both the front & back yard)

Have a great day everyone! Choc

I'm achy! I'm fat! I'm cranky! Yesterday we went out to eat with our choral group, but first all had happy hour at our place. Then after the meal all returned to our place again for desert and after and after dinner drinks. That was all fun, but fattening. To end the evening, my truck broke down!!!! Transmission? Will need to have it towed in for repairs somewhere! As a result, not doing my work on the hiking shelter today.

Forgot to mention, what really makes me cranky. Anybody see on the news a chemical plant that burned down in a spectacular fire? Well that was upstream from our place. Chemical run off from fighting the fire went into our stream (yes, my precious kayaking and fishing stream). They estimate that 100,000 fish have been killed and the stream is supposed to be avoided by everyone. No kayaking, and obviously no swimming! It'll take years to recover!!!!

Blah!

Someone make me smile, please!

Did a 6 mile "hot & hilly hike" in just under 2 hours (118 min)... Those last 2 miles were "murder"!!! Got home, had my cup of coffee & had just settled neck deep in the hot tub when there was a huge clap of thunder & the rain started pouring down.... Decided being in an outdoor hot tub in a thunder storm was not the best idea, LOL.., so now I've "collapsed" in front of a big fan, sipping on my coffee & watching the storm go by from a much safer vantage point!

WOW.. a nice adventure getting to Bangor but still at a good time. We cross the border tomorrow and hopefully with sunshine and no issues. I have a lot of paperwork for traveling over the border with my grandchild..
It was awesome meeting Wood and Luv.. Just as the pictures show only having the animation that matches the post makes it REAL. Perfect solution meeting at a rest area because the dogs and Annabelle got a rambling break and they brought a delicious picnic. I would love to stay and am making kayak plans for my return trip.
Of course there was tornado warnings but I know that happens in Kansas, not Pennsylvania, Right?
It looked like I was driving beyond the storm and they were returning to it, however within 5 miles there was a 30 degree temp drop, torrentual rain in sheet, and hail like snow balls. I was behind big trucks and could poke along safely.. The rain continued all night . We could not ge a room until the Hudson Valley area. But all was well.

Phew! Thank goodness you showed up Snow! I'm not sure how much longer I could have lasted without you showing up on the deck! Doesn't surprise me at all that the hummers have found you. After all they are your totem aren't they?

Maui - You're making my head swell again with all that flattery!

Choc - Yep. Tomorrow we get the hot humid stuff! Today was gorgeous though.

Kay - Glad to hear the surgery went well. I'm sure he's biting at the bit wanting to get back into a normal activity level again!

Okay, I set the massage table up. Ready Snow? Anybody else?

Life is good!

Wood

Kay...glad the surgery went well :-)

Maui & Wood... Rats, I missed the rope swinging / diving contest! (Growing up on a farm, my sis & I were REALLY good at swinging on ropes from beam to beam up in our hay loft! (we also built "forts" with the hay bales and had GREAT squirt gun battles in that loft, LOL)

Did a quick 4 mile hike this morning, was hot & humid even though it was early, so I definitely worked up a sweat! Hope to get out hiking again tomorrow if it doesn't storm (don't mind hiking in the rain as long as it's not "stormy!") ...
Wood... Sounds like you've been getting our weather a day or so after it hits here... Glad you, Luv and Miss Jaq stayed safe in those storms!

Lots of house chores calling my name so I better get busy... Be back later...

HI guys and gals... emoticon I have been able to stay pretty well caught up on the deck news, but yesterday I thought there was a tsunami/hurricane/ tornado emoticon alert on deck so I was stuck up on the zipline emoticon afraid to come zipping from the top of Ben Frien, crossing all the "bad weather " emoticon -- I should have known it was Maui and Wood competing for biggest, splashiest, loudest cannonball emoticon in the pool!! My goodness, you really had some white water emoticon and some ferocious wave action going on in both the pool and the hot tub!! The steam made it look rather mystical from up above, or was that just Wood's nomal body temp when he emoticon watches girls loose their bikini bottoms from the diving board?

So... here I am, sitting on my new huge gothic bed and new wonderful mattress in my new big house in the hills emoticon ... thinking about all you guys. I took a hilly and hot hike this morning, got in some new views of the area, lots of homes being built here and there, but our views and back 40 are protected oaks and greenbelt, emoticon so we will have all that obstructed by beauty for ever. We have owls, bats at night, of course rattlesnakes, red tailed hawks, a golden eagle, lots of birds, and thank goodness-- Hummers have found my deck! I loaded the sundeck up with parrot beaks, a hummers emoticon emoticon favorite flower, and they are utilizing the "fly thru" and getting used to my chatter while they feed. Aaaaah , I was wondering how I would survive without my hummers! When we first looked at the property the bottle brush trees that like the yard were on fire with red brushes everywhere and loaded up with bees and hummers, but now, not so many choices, and the heat is hard on most flowers.

I don't have most of my pots and flowers up here yet, but maybe tomorrow I can get that to happen. Taking the train into the Bay Area and picking up one of my cars left at a neighbors. Then get a Uhaul van and Bob can drive that back loaded up with plants. It is a ucky window in between heat waves! We got up to 100 yesterday, stayed real warm all evening. Bet you were glad it didn't get into 3 digits emoticon where you were Maui, Im sorry about the water, your sustainable garden and the changes in the luxury of our gardens, huh? Yeh, theis was a good time for me to leave my big yard and all those trees and flowers, I miss them, but they took a lot of water!! I was going to have to add drip irrigation if we had stayed. I have drip front and back here, all plants and trees are lined up perfectly, we have sunday, Wed. and Fridays as yard watering days right now. I don't have a washer or dryer yet, and even showering isn't regular as who do I have to get cute for? Boxes don't care! and the pool pretty much keeps us refreshed and clean. Life is good. Im really happy.

Gotta do some searching online now to see if there is a light rail that might get us to Sacramento from El Dorado Hills..... Going to be utilizing the sight, its stickey topics again - I see some are still LMSing!! I have no idea what my weight is doing, its the last thing on my mind the last 2 weeks or more of course!! emoticon Checking out gyms soon as well, have a couple in mind, to train as well as to teach at-(got Zumba, steps, spinning certifications ) and hoping my DIL will join me in finishing Yoga certifications and exercise - she needs to get active again, spends so much time at work and "nursing" our son post car accident recovery.

I need a good neck and shoulder massage, my head can hardly turn! I lift too many boxes and plants emoticon during the day! Know ayone who caould help me out there?
Lots of L O V E emoticon emoticon ***SNOW*** emoticon

Home is where the heart is.
