I am so in the Hot Tub. I have poured me a Pinot Noir, no fancy notable brand but very drinkable. Well, actually my biggest criterior is that it is poured. I need hot bubbles on my tired shoulders. I am remodeling a room ceiling to floors. My shoulders and back are feeling that continuous stretch. Good girl that I am, i did my silly planks before caving in to the wine and soak..I will skip the smores but I hope someone passes the jar of peanut butter my way. And go ahead and turn the music up a bit too.. emoticon

I found the cork skew!
The wine is open!

A Meritage, Jordan Cardonnay, Old Vine Zin...something for everyone!

Wood- Welcome home. Skootch over a bit...just a bit...I am hopping in teh hot tub and join this party! Hot tub, star gazing and wine...Oh yes!

Kay- I bet you are even recovered enough to have a sip...lol...

Mary- Hmmmmwaking up , mind a racing....I hear you. Same here! But no new business decision...hmmm...wondering what your surprise is all about! Sounds wonderful! Mine is orchestrating all that is happening...haha...quite a challenge as well.

Choc-- I'll have some Smores! Actually I'll have enough teo help poor Wood. Wood- I'll feed you so your beard doesn't get all messy. Now HOLD Still! Open your mouth!

Anyone else needing to be fed? I'll help...honest.
Now roasting the marshmallows...I am an expert. Seriously...
I think I do remember a roasting competition here before...But I am quite sure I won...

Great night tonight! Wood- don't open the Jameson. Ha-ha...not tonight...poor Kay. Sometimes the best cure for a hangover, after exercise and water...is a drink!

As good a time as I had down South, one of the things I really missed was the hot tub! So I'll be happy to share it with a couple of good friends tonight. Now one thing we did have down there was a much clearer view of the night time sky! I so miss the really starry nights! Here in Southeastern PA we have so much light pollution that we really filter out all but the brightest of the stars.

Choc, I'll pass on the Smores! They're just too messy when you have a beard and mustache! LOL!

Mary - Good luck on your business venture! I'm looking forward to the time you can share it with us!

Kay - I don't get hung over often, but when I do, I force the activity things as well. Getting the blood flowing seems to clear the head a little bit faster!

Okay, who's hiding the cork screw?

Life is good!

Mary... Hot tub tonight sounds awesome... We can soak our various aches & pains (for me it's a sore back)... And we can also celebrate Wood and Luv getting back... I'm betting Wood has lots of stories to share from their time down south (and Maui, sounds like with all the furniture moving and redoing parts of your house I'm betting the hot tub will feel good to you too!) maybe after hot tubbing we can gather 'round the deck's bonfire (S'mores anyone????)

Just keep swimming!

Hey everybody!

Life is truly a roller coaster for me right now...hubby and I have made a huge but somewhat risky business decision...good news is I'm not able to sleep in like I was doing because my mind starts racing so I've been exercise in the morning again!

I'll be hitting the hot tub for a relaxing soak tonight as well as the wine cellar! emoticon Hope y'all can join me!

Tomorrow I might be feeling like Kay felt this morning!

Have a great evening everyone!

emoticon This is how I felt this morning....went to the neighbors for dinner and a bit too much wine, and I REALLY should have skipped the Jameson...but I managed to haul my butt over to the gym for the Pilates class I had signed up for, and feel much better for it!

Another beautiful day out, Larry's happy in the garage working on his project. Looking forward to a quiet weekend!

Hey everybody! We're back home again and therefore I should be back on the deck on a more regular basis as well!

We had a wonderful mission trip to North Carolina! Great projects, great people, great weather! This was a really fun loving group, so after our work each day we still played together: games some nights, campfires some nights, concerts some nights. Also did some hiking and sight seeing in the Great Smokey Mountains! If you've never been to the Smokies, put them on your bucket list. They're beautiful!

However, regardless of what Brenda said about the 60+ weather in PA, once we got back it was cold and we woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground! I mean, come on, it's the end of March for Pete's sake!!!! We just finished up 3 weeks of temps in the upper 60's to 80! This is a rather rude awakening!

Now, off to get this day started, but I promise to be a better communicator again!

Life is good!

Morning deckies!

Brenda- Mid 60's ...wow! Very nice...must feel fabulous.
Yo yo...hmm...OK...sugar is the enemy. Time to reboot...

Thanks for the good wishes for me...yes...CRAZY busy here...unpacking, packing, moving furniture, shopping for glass doors, faucet, etc...tile, paint, and hardwood are selected. But soooooooo much to organize. We have a VERY small house...haha...soon there will be these little passageways to get around. Hahaha...

Kay- You are so wise. I appreciate how you think/process...encouraging/supporting Larry. Lucky him to have you. Yes...pottery is from a long time ago. I have photos now scanned in this morning from my Grandmothers home in 1950 with some of the items now residing here. Not too special to anyone else...but I love it. :)

Choc- did you get all those errands done??

KB- Did you feel that warm up we had? When the weather warms and outdoors adventures call, how do you balance school. hw and getting outside?

Wood- Tell Luv hello for me...hope you are avoiding the harsh weather...Did you know Manders was in the basement at work from the twisters? She , her doggies and property are fine. Hey, speaking of the 'ol gang...Morti is prego with her second baby! A boy!
Hope you are continuing to enjoy your adventure.

OK...My list is screaming at me...hahah...
Later gaters!

Good Morning Everyone!

Kay-I'm glad you're enjoying the sunshine and spring weather even if it meant a shorter ski season for you.

Maui - I hope you find some calm in your chaos over the next few months.

KB - 65 sounds nice, but I understand - it's all what you're used to.

Choc-did it get warmer there yet?

Yesterday it was mid 60s so I got on my bike for the first time this season-did an 8 mile trip on a local rail trail where they recently finished a concrete pad under a railroad bridge-really cool trail. I'm loving all these restored trails around our home!

Wow-gained almost 6 pounds this week after 4 down last week. Yo yo! I'm going to do better at cutting out the carbs and sugar again this week-gotta get back on track. Loving those chai lattes and sweets a little too much.

We've warmed up today, it's beautiful out, great day to walk back from work.

Glad the pottery made it through the shaking, Maui!

Choc, hope you warm up soon!

Maui... Not many signs of Spring here :-( been way too cold (low of 28 this morning)
No spring flowers yet, but only a few patches of snow left in the woods so maybe the flowers will start peeking out soon??? (Birds have returned from down south though so that's a good sign!)

Just keep swimming!

Morning Deckies!

Choc- Howdy! Great you could stop by...how is the painting project coming along? You seeing more signs of spring? More daffodils I bet. Doggies getting outside more? How much snow do you have left on the ground?

Brenda- Hey there my friend. That eagle cam is amazing...Thank you for sharing!
Turns out the earthquake was really shallow, (close to the surface), and literally running under my house. It was a small quake really, but its depth was what made it feel so big and NOISY! Folks even a mile away had a different experience. It was particularly funny since I was unpacking 'pottery' from my Dad. I had told my Dad as I drove off, "Well, now we are moving the pottery, we ought to have a gob quake"...lol...JINX!
Trail clean up...yep...always just sad to see what humans think is 'OK' out in nature. Our planet is blessed to have you care for it in so many ways.

Kay- "Get back to it" That's 'our' Kay'! Inspiration...focus... :)
Spring is springing...sorry about the skiis having to be put away...'sigh'.
Hiking boots , bike, yep...sounds great though, right?
My trip to Dad's was good, exhausting, hard, sad,...LOTS of emotion. I came home with some family papers, photos, heirloom stuff...this was good. Time to scan photos and put family history together...but...maybe mid summer...it'll have to wait!

OK...I have sorting, PT, flooring guy, bread, stuff...huge list...
Thanks for helping keep me grounded my friends...This next 8 -10 weeks...gonna be CRAZY!

Have a great Wednesday peeps. It's spring...get out if you can!

Hi!

I saw a post on the eagle cam just this morning, funny!

Maui, glad you survived the earthquake, all that rattling can be alarming! Nice visit with your dad too?

KB, hiking in Phoenix on spring break sounds great! We did a bit of mountain biking (more near Scottsdale) a couple of years ago when we were in the area.

Brenda, we haven't had snow much in Reno, some of the local hills still have bit near the top, and the mountains are still capped, but I'm guessing that will melt here pretty soon. Our ski area closed this past weekend, so I'll be getting the skis ready for summer here soon. emoticon Just didn't get a good season for skiing this year...

Off to work, I'm going to try to mix up my routine a little this week and do my own ST today and pilates Friday or Saturday. I've been skipping my second ST too much lately, and need to get back to it!

Morning all!

Maui -WOWEE that must have freaked you out! There was one near my parents home, when I was living there, about 6 years ago and it freaked me out big time even thought it was a little one. I'm glad you're safe. I hope everything with your Dad goes well-lots of transition!

Snow-Howdy my friend!

KB - Congrats on the midterms-I'm glad you were able to get away a bit. Two years ago I visited a friend who lives just outside the superstition mountains outside of Phoenix - wowza what a lovely area. I was surprised at the elevation as well.

Kay - I hope you didn't get blown away! Any snow left?

Yesterday I made it out on "my trail" for the second time this year. I'm a trail steward as part of my volunteer project to complete my master naturalist training. It's a tough trail. I tracked "most" of it on my phone before it died - it's 2 miles round trip to an overlook where there are two wind mills that power electricity to our local Turkey Hill dairy- some of you east of the Mississippi may have heard of it (they make fantastic ice cream). Total ascent was 650 feet over a mile. I don't know if that's impressive or not, but for our little river hills it was a climb for me! My knees are feeling it today. Not too much trash along the trail, but at the top, tons of it. Really disappointing to carry two grocery bags full of trash out with me but I'm glad I'm there to keep it clean. emoticon emoticon

Saturday I'm driving to NJ to do some trail maintenance training for my naturalist course - I'm pretty excited for the hands on training. I had so much book work/in class time with this class last fall I'm excited for hands on learning-it's how I learn best.

Still not warm here-below freezing every night, but my indoor seedlings are looking good! Some mold is growing on the soil, so I sprayed them with a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution this morning-I hope it helps! emoticon emoticon

Have any of you been watching the #eaglecam from Codorus state park? It's about an hour east of me here in PA - a bit south of where Wood lives - and the Eagle eggs just cracked open to reveal two eaglets! In the woods behind my house I'm currently watching two hawks finish their nest - from what I've ready she will lay her eggs sometime this month. Between that and my groundhog, it's an entertaining view from my office window when I work from home!

Cheers to all of you today

Morning Deckies!

Yesterday got away from me! LOL...
First...we had an earthquake! The epicenter was less than a mile from house...and it got my heart pumping! Whoa...loud...my whole house just jumped ! Anyhow, it was not even a big one, but location, location, location!

I also accompanied my dear friend to a surgery yesterday...long day...Got home and unpacked 'stuff' I brought home from my Dad's. He is now talking about selling his home and moving to something much smaller. We will see. But, I came home with my Grandmother's ceramic dishes and some vases, wall art etc...all handmade, very unique. Just her ...I am enjoying this. Fond childhood memories.

Today I have LOTS to do. Since I have empty boxes and I will begin packing up my bedroom.
Big list over the next 2 months...lol.

Wood- Hey you sound like you are having fun! Dollywood...what fun! Campfire and working with friends...yep...Life is Good moments.

Slimmer- Big congrats! Yes, beautiful photo. What an honor indeed.

Mary- OK...exciting news...hmmm...sounds good! Please tell soon. ;)

Brenda- You recovering from the weekend?? Tennis rackets??? How cool. My hubby used to play. I have played badminton...but never tennis. Kinda werid really...since I have done maybe every other sport.

Kay- Wind...oh my. Not that unusual for you area though...we have heat coming in. Maybe the wind is preceding the high temps. Great news about Larry. Recovery seems to be on it's way then. Glad you got a spa day...you earned that!

Snow- 8 hours of weeding. Are you ok now??? Wow...I know though how we are in that time of year when we have to make this work happen. Did you feel the quake????

Hobbes- GRAD SCHOOL! You Rock! This is so amazing! You are an inspiration!

KB- Welcome back from your holiday! Great weather eh? And good for you on your mid terms! Forward ho! LMS...steady going! Well done! I love looking at your pics of handstands! ;)

I have got to run...Busy day again!

Have a happy day my friends.
Life is Good!

Hey deckies! Guess I've been MIA for a little bit~Spring Break was a much needed get a way. Spent the last of my weekend hiking some of the trails in Phnx....it's a bit warmer than Tucson and forgot the elevation difference, makes it a challenge!

Back in the groove of school, and actually did pretty well on my midterms, little disappointed in one....but a low B is better than a high C. The sunshine is great for biking to class, but some days have been little hard going against the wind! At least it isn't snowing!

Going to try to do better with checking in.....looks like we lost emoticon and gained Brenda. Not participating in LMS since weight has been steady but look forward to peaking in and encouraging teammates! emoticon emoticon

We seem to be having some weather blowing in, and I mean BLOWING...very windy out there. We'll see how my run/walk into work goes today, I may get swept in!

Hope you got rained out on the courts Mary! Just for your wrists sake!

Brenda, picking up the racket and supporting your DH in getting healthy, sounds like a good plan!

Wood-Sounds like you were a busy bee this weekend! Thankfully we didn't get the 6" of snow predicted-just a dusting that never laid on the roads and melted by the next day. WHEW.

Hobbes - I hope you can enjoy your spring break. Congrats on grand school!

Kay-the spa day sounds wonderful! Friday night I get my hair trimmed and early next week is my massage-I'm SOOOO ready for it! I'm so glad Larry is improving.

Mary - Exciting about the good news-happy to read it. Hubs and I purchased tennis rackets this weekend to start playing together. I'm not a fanatic but he used to love it and is committing to his "diet" today so I want to encourage him however I can.

I had a TOTAL binge weekend. I lost 4 pounds last week and went nuts this weekend. Back on track with a strict re-commitment throughout this week so I don't gain all the loss from last week! I did note that I felt like crap with what I ate. I need to remember this.

Hey deckies! emoticon

Things are very busy here...I have some very good news but I'm not quite ready to share! My life's going to be pretty crazy for the next few months...

We've been getting some wonderful light rains here emoticon ...hope it keeps on raining until 6 pm so that my night team's tennis match gets rained out! If it clears up I'm going to have to play or we'll forfeit a court...if we get rained out somebody else can play instead of me! I love the tennis but I'm too rusty for league play and it hurts my wrist ):

Hope everything is going great for all of you!

Pura Vida!

Sounds like LUV is keeping you busy, Wood, and out of trouble, I presume! Enjoy the shows and Dollywood!

Hobbes, congrats on grad school! Enjoy the hike, even with the downpour, sometimes it's just nice to be out!

Yesterday was "spa" day for me, and I sure needed it....first I drove Larry to his post-op appointment, his doctor was impressed at how well the ankle looks, it's quite colorful, but the swelling is way down, and his incisions are healing and the x-rays looked good. We went for his labs and to the grocery store after that.

Then I headed out to my facial, and hit Trader Joes on the way home, picked up a couple more basil plants. We go through them like crazy! I'm planning on making basil chicken tonight for dinner...later in the evening I headed out for my sauna/massage. So very relaxing afternoon!

Thank you by-the-way for your kind and thoughtful words in reference to my ol' Dad (he seems to be improving some). I really appreciated your comments. I'll be checking in with LMS later today when I find my way to a working scale. Have a fabulous & active weekend. Hobbes

Waiting for a walking/running/hiking buddy we're gonna forge through a pour down this evening after she gets off of work. This is the beginning of my Spring break today (as I work for the school district). I worked two 12 hour days back to back through parent/teacher conferences so that I could have an extra day off for Spring break. Guess what the forcast is for the week? Yep, you guessed it! Torrential Rain Showers with a break for occasional rain and some light sprinkles (ha,ha). For those of you following I received an acceptance letter for Graduate school and gave them a 'Yes' & so I'll be starting classes up again this summer. Spark People is what partially gave me the confidence to go back to school several years ago & finish up on a Bachelor's Degree in education.

Heading up to Pigeon Forge, TN for the weekend with another NOMAD couple today. Glor is dragging us to a quilt show today. Then a show this evening. Then Dollywood tomorrow! I understand they're getting six inches of snow at home today. Will be in the sixties here. Life is good!

Keep on running Kay! You'll be healthy, fit and beautiful forever!

Great GREAT photo Slimmer! What an honor!

Hey everbody, just wanted you to know that I do stop by the deck daily, but am doing it on my tablet which is a really inferior way to respond. Takes too much time with this one finger typing. Sorry!

Up for a soak and a beverage right now for anybody who'd like to join me.

Life has been very good!

Wood-A Campfire sounds great right about now. I'm hoping we can sneak one in soon, but I know we'll have some in a few weeks when we do our Easter camping trip.

Maui - so many errands! I hope you can keep it all straight. Enjoy those plants.

Snow-I'm glad you could take out some of that frustrating on your weeds.

Kay-Green is one of my favorite colors as well. Here's what we've been drinking: http://www.troegs.com/our_brews/nugget_nec
tar.aspx Smooth, hoppy and a bit sweet

Hobbes - I'm hanging around my LMS last weigh in too -keep it up!

Choc- I'm with you-I'm waiting to start LMS until after Easter.

Busy times here, I hope you all have a great week!

I cant move, I weeded for 8 hours atleast today, gardened my brains out! Bought more plants like an idiot.... but I had and epiphany, a dream for an area that I wanted to change and make super pretty and bright..... so, I have work ahead! But Its all fun to me, Im not complaining!

Getting late, haven't had dinner yet, my DH helped me weed and he is really hurting, and keeps telling me what an amazing woman I am! Yeah, like I usually do it all by myself each year, nice to share the pain with someone you love, lol!! emoticon

Have some green beer for me, Im calling it an early night as soon as I eat dinner.....
Be good kids!! ***SNOW***

I feel like I'm playing chauffeur more than nurse, taking Larry to all the doctor appointments, we went to his primary care today to get his regular scripts going again, and then to the pharmacy to get said scripts. Needless to say, I didn't get to work until after noon...such is life!

My shoulders are sore from yesterday, Iain had me going down the stairs a the gym on my hands (sort of a bear crawl down) it was quite tough! I got in a short trail run this morning before the appointment, 2 miles only, but it was nice to get outside for a workout!

I'll just pass then on this round of LMS (no problem, I'll "do it" next time)... Easter celebrations for my family include lots of VERY high calorie traditional "ethnic" foods that we really only get to enjoy once a year (not only high calorie, but also VERY yummy and I just can't pass up this once a year family tradition) ... It would take me more than 1 "forgiveness week" to "undo" the calories in our traditional Easter foods, LOL

I'll just cheer everyone on during this LMS challenge and join the next one :-)

Happy St Pats day everyone emoticon

Happy St Patty's Day to everyone!
Hope you are all wearing green... ;)

OK...LMS...I say YES!
And let's go now! First weigh Friday????????????
I don't want to wait...

Choc- you do have a 'forgiveness' week...that might cover Easter, yes?

Hobbes- Big big hugs my friend. You have a lot on your plate...always...Thanks for the update so we don't worry . Like Kay says...we will be here whenever you need us. I love the sweet pic of you and your son. Thank you for sharing.

KB- Way to go on keeping near goal weight! Well done you. Beautiful day in the desert indeed. Sounds nice. I have heading down 'your way' tomorrow to see my Dad. He is in Yucaipa...near Redlands...I need to check in with him in person. Enjoy your day.

Snow- My hummers are going crazy too! Busy busy yard. Lots of 'hatching' happening...Hubby and I found an inchworm that looked just like a piece of wood this weekend. Goofy and amazing huge thing.

Brenda- Garden seeds! Yay! I have all kinds of garden goodies growing...hopefully I can keep them alive. Water...scary. Your pipeline work does sound exhausting...Your 'voice' is serving so many...you are a community 'angel',honest. Not many can do what you do. But I hope you can find ways to nurture you.

Kay- How did your workout go last night? I bet you are feeling the strain of 'extra' on your schedule...but great news to know Larry is doing so well.
Whew.

Wood- haha...you know...we actually have an outdoor shower with hot and cool water. We used to have a pool. I had the shower installed because I wanted the little kids-to really rinse off before getting in my pool. It worked! So the pool is gone, (All garden now) and we still have the shower. When we get real dirty...can just hose off out back...But I digress...lol...Shower 2 at a time could indeed conserve....but when I shower by myself, I am talking a speedy military shower! hehe...
Your trip sounds like a perfectly timed exit from that sub zero weather! Still playing cards and board games in the evenings? What fun!

Yesterday I drove back up to my sons to check on his roof work...whew...I roof is done and interiors ceiling should get last paint coat today! What a long drawn out task! He is exhausted but will catch up on rest and reduced anxiety this week.
I have a long list of tasks before I head to my DAds... Hubby and daughter will get some quality time without me here...hehe.

I have the corned beef and cabbage and veggies all ready ...True Irish Soda bread is baking. I am sure we should have some beer too! Duh...
What kind of beer is your favorite???

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

Good afternoon all, Congrats Maui on staying in there for LMS, I probably get the award for gaining the most weight in a month! Me and stress do NOT do well, but Im ready to really try hard now, there should be no excuses, and Im not blaming circumstances, but they do sometimes sabotage our best efforts, don't they?

Im just seeing butterflies in my head all day long...Monarchs to be specific!! Oh my hummers will have a great "nesting surprise" when I hang my custom bird house right out the kitchen window next to the feeder...... they are going to be investigating like crazy..... Choc- you are amazing!!

Back to taxes, ive been the royal procrastinator, so today I must finish up, the last two summery days I have spent in the weeds, and dirt, planting pots like crazy.... today is colder...low 70's.... so been doing stuff so that I can get up north maybe for a day or two, the mountains are calling!

Kay, give Larry a pat on the head for me, like a good dog.... hope he mends fast, get that ankle back to good as new! My kid has a brace on for a while now, might be heading home soon from the facilty- they say he is doing well, mastering the one legged walk with his walker.... This has been one of the bigger "frights" of my life I must say, everytime I look at the pictures of his truck I want to cry, and I thank HIM everyday!! Ah, time does heal, my thoughts are with you and your fantastic nursing skills (heh, heh, heh, )

Gotta go, my reward will be to go to steps class tonite...work off some jelly beans... yes, the candy dish is full of friggin jelly beans again.... and Im the only one eating them Im sure! emoticon Gads..... oh well....some things never change- Just sayin'.....

Kay-I'm so glad Larry's surgery went well and I hope his recovery does the same.

Hobbes-Thinking of you and your father-I hope he comes out of this and fights!

Maui - I planted my seeds into starter containers and put them in our front picture window where the plants love the sun and warmth. I'm hoping to see them sprout out soon! How's the drought there? I've ready some scary things about Cali's water shortage. Why are people still watering their lawns?

Desert - Good for you for zumbaing AND with doing it with family, that's great!

Wood - Sounds wonderful-still a chill in the air here but the snow is almost gone.

This weekend I was in a 2 day seminar in the southern part of our county at a preserve called Climbers Run. It's stunning. Unfortunately, I was stuck inside strategizing about this anti-pipeline movement - putting in some work before I hand the reigns over to some fresh folks so I can focus more on our township efforts in the work instead of the county-wide movement. It's exhausting work.

I've missed my aquatics class 2 weeks in a row now and this week I'll miss as well. I need to get outside to make up for it, but I have been counting my yard work as workouts and getting in time on the elliptical. I just need to keep up with it.

Maui-congrats on winning LMS!!

emoticon Hobbes, do what you need to do to take care of you dad, family and yourself. Well be here whenever you need us!

Wood, glad you found some sunshine! And like-minded folks to enjoy it with!

Larry is still recovering, I know it takes time, and he's been really good about it, doing what he can to feel useful, and resting when he needs to. I guess it's fortunate that his office is here at home, so he can still get some work done between naps!

I'm getting back to my routine as much as I can this week, so hitting the gym with my trainer tonight, gotta pick up some heavy things! (and put them back down again....)

Hello Hello my Outdoor friends,

I have not been here for weeks but just wrote a private message to Maui and filled her in a bit. My almost 90 year old Dad contracted MRSA after a surgery & it has turned our lives up-side-down! So I've been totally out-of-it just trying to regain some footing after the metaphorical earth quake.

So I can't promise that I'll be around for awhile... but just wanted to let you know that I miss the deck and all of its stars! I've missed our late night soaks & laughter.

When my life has some sense to it again I'll return.

Hope all of you are doing well!

Outdoor People are Wonderful Folks

Love, Hobbes

To think a little over a week ago, we were struggling to get the ice off the camper. Now we're sitting outside the camperin shorts reading. Today is a layed back day. We'll take a hike later and game night later.

It was a great first week although a bit damp. Lots of work done. Lots of fun in the evenings. Went to two shows. One sort of a sing a long. Theother French folk music. Oh wait! 3 shows. We went to a see a comdian at a local pub last night. Did a waterfall hike with a couple of the guys yesterday while the girls hit the thrift shops. They didn't want to hike in the rain.

We're with a really fun group of people.

So another Larry wipes out on a bicycle! At least he's got a great nurse to pamper him!
KB - tell your parents that buying that RV and seeing America is something they will never forget! Getting into shape does feel good and it opens many more doors to adventures. Keep it up!

Maui I flunked out of last man standing weeks ago. Congrats on still standing! Is a water conserving shower one taken with a friend?
Snow , glad DH's interview went well. I still think it would be a good time hiking with you and Maui!

Hope all of you have a great week!

Life is good!

And I would like to go hiking and wine tasting! I'll probably settle for just hiking for now...one day though! I'm hoping to get out today, I spent most of yesterday on yard work (sounds familiar) so I should be able to get in some trail miles today.

Larry's been doing a lot of sleeping and puttering. No icing as the post-op wrapping is so thick that ice would not have any effect. I think until that comes off (maybe next Friday?) it will be more about elevating the leg.

I'll be making the crockpot ratatouille today as well, I have to wait for Larry to wake up to start it though, I don't want to be rattling around the kitchen while he's resting.

Hope you all have some good Sunday plans going on!

Happy Sunday all,

OK...cooler here today, that's ok...yesterday was just crazy it was so hot. Many of my plants were in shock and struggling. (Artichoke dropped severely, but standing back up today...whew)

And...I have a question...about LMS...seems there is zero activity over there. Does this mean I won??? Really??? I kinda cannot believe it. Is anyone out there still in who forgot to post?
If so...should we set a date to begin again and get everyone back 'in the game?
Just wondering...

Today is yet another busy day for me...Still racing spring out here. Once the warmer weather arrives, we have to rush like crazy to stay ahead of the game and get the yard in shape for the really warm weather. It's only harder to accomplish once its even warmer.

Mary, Brenda...fellow veggie gardeners...I was thinking about you...Yesterday I put in my tomatoes and tomatillos. Eggplant too. I was not planning on getting them in so early, but our night time temps are warm enough.

Heading to the hills today with son and DIL...hiking and wine tasting...:)
Enjoy your day everyone.

I need to get moving early tomorrow to work off that pie so the alarm is set!

KB- What an awesome big sister you are! One lucky little brother! Hiking , fishing, jokes...lol...Did you throw skipping rocks too? (after giving up on fishing...)
Sounds like a perfect morning!

I was outside from 10AM till just 15 minutes ago. Currently sipping more water, had my quick water saving shower, and good thing we have the shepherd's pie and banana creme pie! I am starving, a little sunburned...just a little...honest...and contemplating a Netflix movie...

Kay- how's the patient tonight? Hope he is resting and being good! Icing I bet.
Hugs to you of course.

OK...And Cherry cobbler crumble pie...OMG...I am in heaven. I made pie before heading outside...Good thing! I am bringing Lemon Goat Cheese with blackberries... Something for everyone!

What a beautiful day here in the desert! emoticon I took my little brother on little hiking/ fishing trip this morning.....we didn't catch anything this time. We had fun goofying off and telling lame jokes. Wish the public schools' spring break was in sync with the college, we could go on a grand adventure! I'm still going to Zumba classes during the break, sometimes with my mom, sometimes with one or both of the older sisters. I like how my body is toning up!

Wood~glad you and luv made it to the Carolinas okay! My parent are looking to buying a RV and touring the country when they finally retire. I haven't done much traveling out of my homestate.....and starting to regret it. I'm a bit chicken, but the idea of studying abroad would be a fun experience.

Kay~Hope the husband's recovery goes smoothly. Plans for dinner in the crockpot sounds delicious. I love eggplant!

Choc~positive attitude towards your project....sometimes the oddest mistakes make a gift unique.

So what kind of pies are on the list for tonight's party? I've seen a banana cream so far. Anybody like cherry cobbler crumble pie? can bring a side of ice cream!

Happy Pi Day all!

Kay- Great news about Larry! Whew!
Sleep is the best medicine ever!
You sound good too...maybe plan some rest for you too. ;) This takes a tole on caregivers too.

Mary- Wow...what fun. Watching he husbands eyes roll...haha...fun! Does he know how he is inspiring you? tee hee...
I too have sourdough percolating on the counter for my bread. ;) But my husband has come all the way over, advocating for my bread and cooking, complaining when he has to eat at work...haha...Life is grand!
Your Shepherd's Pie and Banana creme pie sounds heavenly! Maybe I'll make a leek and mushroom pie to add as a side.

I have garden work to do! HAha...Surprise! We are heading to temps about 84...CRAZY! I have to water! but I am also planting a bit...some marigolds in my raised beds to ward off bugs. A little Sweet Allysum too...littler good bug attractor. :)

Happy Day peeps! See you for supper!

I'm sure I've related Larry's issues with my kombucha! But I love it! He can just ignore it...hope the fermentation experimentation goes well, Mary!

And Shepherd's pie and banana cream pie sound delightful! I may have to think of how to make pie for us tonight.... emoticon emoticon

The surgery went well, must have been all those good thoughts coming his way! Thanks! And I got to clear out my e-mail at work too, so win-win! He's sleeping in the guest bedroom now, after getting up early and heading to his office (he works from home), so I'm inclined to just let him sleep, he needs the rest! His surgeon said everything looked good, the bones got back together, anesthesia was uneventful...all good news!

I've got a ratatouille crockpot recipe in mind for this weekend, since I bought an eggplant and zucchini, just seems like the thing to do!

Have a great Saturday and Pi day!

Happy Super Pi Day!

Hope everyone survived Friday the 13th o.k.! (At Joe's school they called it Pi-Day the 13th since real pi day is on weekend they celebrated yesterday)

Kay - thinking about you and Larry - hope all went well with surgery!

Tonight it's Shepherd's pie and Banana Cream Pie at our house - I'll bring them to the deck later! (Don't worry Maui - grass fed beef and dairy!) And a nice salad with lettuce from my little garden! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I started another batch of sauerkraut on Wednesday and this morning I started my first attempt at sourdough starter - my husband saw the jars on top of our fridge and just shook his head! One of these days I'm going to attempt kombucha - can't wait to hear what he'll have to say about that!

Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

I'll need a party after the past couple of days...Larry's having surgery on his ankle today (if all goes right). He cancelled the first surgery that was scheduled after the cost changed, but the doctors scheduler got him in to my hospital, so the only hold up after that would be if it doesn't get authorized. I doubt that will happen, but who knows? It is Friday the 13th after all....at least I convinced him not to eat after he cancelled the first surgery, just in case.

Morning Deckies!

Hello hello! So...I am not seeing ANY activity over on the LMS thread...
Is anyone else still 'In' ?
Wondering...lol...

Choc- way to go ...Looking on the bright side with the painting project.

Benda- Woohoo...down again and seed shopping! Life is definitely good. I love he 'next 21' goal. I will join you! Let's do this!
My remodeling will be slow since waiting for window to be built starts the real project. This past weekend we cut tile in the shower to expose the problem, make a short term fix so at least its not leaking! I have product selected and a 'team' in place. Emptying my entire bedroom and bathroom will be a project! Where in the world to put it all??????????? LOL...

Kay- how's the patient? Hope you both can sleep. Hope he is icing and behaving.

Happy Friday 13th!

Mary-70s sounds wonderful right about now. I'm sure you're loving it. No update yet on the life change-I may not make any decisions for a few more weeks. It deals with my career/job and just when I thought I was getting a handle, a big shift happened again this week. Trying to go with the flow.

Desert-I'm glad mid-terms went well-now you can relax a bit?

Kay - What a shame about Larry-I'm so glad someone found him. I hope he takes the time he needs to rest and recover.

Maui-How's the renos coming along?

Wood-the trip sounds great so far-have fun.

Choc- Yay for 50s, we're warming up here too and lots of wet.

Last week it was snowing 10", this week it's in the 50s and all but the piles are melted! I'm loving it. I loved it a little too much-spent Tuesday, when it was near 60, weeding the flower bed behind my house and overdid my back. I ended up having to canceling my first time volunteering with our local hospice for a writers workshop because of nasty spasms all evening long. Not good for someone with back problems. But, hubs convinced me to rest and relax and I feel better today. Yesterday I was still stiff/sore and I could feel it in all my muscles.

Today I'm meeting a friend to pick out seeds for my raised garden that we plan to build in the next few weeks. Some years by now my pop has his garden planted, but right now it's still frozen and flooded-not a good combo. Late growing season for everyone here. But, I'm embracing this warm weather-you can tell everyone is loving it. No one is wearing coats and it's fantastic. The dogs are appreciative too.

I'm proud to say I finally "broke" my plateau and am now a smidge over 30 pounds down since 12/1. WOOT WOOT. My next big hurdle is 21 pounds from now (all in my mind, I know) so I'm still tracking everything I eat to stay in balance. I'm consistently working out at least 3 days a week so that's wonderful. Now that it's warm, it's hard to find the motivation to go to my aquatics class, indoors, on Thursday nights. We'll have to see if I stick with that, or switch it out for gardening/hiking/biking. OOH biking! I'll have to wait until the trail dries up a bit and then I'm going!

Planning our first camping trip for Easter weekend, I can't wait.

KB... Spring break! emoticon

Mary... Hoping today will be the day I can look for that break in the dog fence (now that a lot of our snow has melted)

Maui... Had a "major catastrophe" with one of my painted birdhouses... Had spent 4-5 days painting the design, then went to spray it with a "protective sealer" and the sealer made all the colors run!!! Totally ruined all that work! Boy was I ever upset!... But now that I've "calmed down" I'm kind of glad that happened to that one birdhouse, because "usually" I spray seal all my painting projects at the same time (if I had done that "usual" procedure this time I would have ruined half a dozen birdhouses!!!!)... So in hindsight and "looking on the bright side" it was a GOOD thing that happened! It saved all my other birdhouses! :-) I have since found a different "weather sealer" that is made especially for use on birdhouses (and I pretested it on my paints yesterday and it didn't make the paint colors run... Happy dance!!!)

Wood... Hope you and Luv are having warm weather too!

Ok, sun is up, gotta head out for a morning walk then get some chores done around here
... Have a fantastic Friday everyone!

Choc

Evening Deckies!

Kay- Darn! Too bad about Larry's ankle and finger. Like Snow says...I bet he has aches and pains elsewhere too. Hugs to Larry and you! Nursing job is hard stuff.

Choc- Yep...a crazy week ahead for us here. It's so beautiful...but we still desperately need water and its not looking good on that front. And you are thawing out...yippee! Bet your critters are happy too. Hows the painting coming?

Mary- Oh my...it's going to be one heck of a project. I paid for windows today. Sheesh...all play money heading right out the window! The order of tasks will be window installation, shower tile, painting, then wood floors. This will take a bit, since it'll be 6 weeks for the windows to start. You are warming up too down your way. Are you thinking about a front yard garden again? (I planted some more today) ;) And...hows the fermenting coming along?

KB_ whew! super glad you survived! Time for a deep breath and relax...any outdoor adventure's planned??

Snow- Yes...GREAT hike. No soreness here! Wohoo! And yes...we have got to get back out. We will. Such great news about hubby...

OK...its almost Friday again! This week went fast! Sooooooo much going on here...lol...Life. Where in the world would I have time for a job?
Anyhow, I think I am going to slip into the hot tub a bit. First, I'll take off my crown. Oh yeah...you know...the manure crown...compost crown...oh yeah...earned it this afternoon. I showered before getting into the hot tub...lol...good thing!

Hugs all...sleep well.

Hey deckies!! I've survived midterms....well, until the grades come in. Hopeful, and not going to think about it until after Spring Break! Part of the reason I have been missing in on the deck, have been hitting the books~but looking forward to doing 'nothing' for a week.

Zumba classes are alot of fun....and my coordination with the moves is getting better! I often feel like I have two left feet. Once the weather gets warm enough, going to start swimming more.....getting Spring fever......

Sounds like everyone else is thawing out and ready for Spring to get here!

Good afternoon!

Kay - gosh, that was a serious crash...hope that Larry is doing well and recovers quickly!

Snow and Maui - you enjoyed a hike together! Awesome!

Snow - great news from hubby! Hope son's rehab is going well.

Choc - good luck finding the missing link in your fence!

Brenda - any word on your life changes? And thanks for asking about my back - it's all better - didn't think about it once while playing tennis on Tuesday - maybe because I was too busy yelling at myself about all the shots I was missing!

Maui - remodel coming along nicely I hope!

KB - one of these days I'm going to get myself to a Zumba class! Looks like a blast!

Wood - how long you going to be in NC? Guess you didn't need to worry much about heating the camper! Enjoying warm temps here as well. But very windy today...March winds!

Busy at work...just had a late lunch now time to get back to the grindstone!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Pura Vida!

Hi there everyone, my gosh Kay! I did notice your absence here on deck....That's too bad about Larry and both injuries... I imagine other stuff hurts as well, Im thinking no face plant here, and that's good. Was he on the dirt trails? And he is back to cooking in the kitchen, hopefully elevating and icing it ...perhaps with his favorite red wine in the evening? emoticon

I saw a horrible bike emoticon accident on my paved trail near the mountains, a novice first timer went right over the handle bars and hit his head and was a bloody mess! I got him to stay laying still, managed to get his helmet off, asked him some basic cognitive questions while some passerbyers called 911 on their cell phones while I kept him still and calm. Im sure he had a concussion at the very least, and when the paramedics found us they took over and stabilized his neck and spine. I think he had no knowledge of the braking system on his 24 speed bike, and maybe that cause him to eject over the handle bars... either way he did tell me this was his first day on the bike. people were very helpful, handing me sanitized wipes to help clean up his wounds and apply pressure to the bleeding.

My DH just got home from his trip tp Phoenix emoticon - sounds like the job interview went well, so I want to go listen to his stories of his day. He wanted to go and come home in the same day, but the airline site automatically assumed when you book one day to leave- that you will come home the following day or later..... so when it was time to come home yesterday, he realized- nope, ticket says tomorrow! Unless you pay another hundred bucks or more to change it, he just figured get a room and come home today. Oh our automated society.... emoticon

emoticon Had a great hike too Maui, so nice to reconnect and I felt that you needed the fresh air, hills, extended time away from projects, and to enjoy walking and talking with one another. It felt great, lets do it again ! emoticon

Going to be 82 here by Sat they say..... sounds delightful, my flowers and hummers will love it!! Now off to hear the latest news..... ***SNOW*** emoticon

Kay... Oh no!!!! Sorry to hear about the accident & broken leg! (Been there, done that myself years ago "trying" to ice skate!) Glad he wasn't hurt worse and that someone stopped to help!

Maui...was watching the weather in your area, NICE!! We finally are getting a taste of Spring here... Sunny and got up to 50, snow is melting fast, back roads a muddy mess (normal condition in the spring) ... And I actually spotted a few "brave" crocus peeking out of the soil on the south side of my house (I'm definitely feeling "Spring fever!")

Hoping to do a little yard cleanup tomorrow even though there's still quite a bit of snow in some areas... Need to try to fix my dog fence (have the electronic "Invisible Fence" ) but it's shorted out "somewhere" and now that the snow is melting I'm hoping I can find the break... Don't think my two pooches would leave the yard even with it not working, but I'm also "dog sitting" my sister's dog and I want to make sure that big lovable pooch doesn't "go exploring" when I'm not looking!

Snow... I'm almost "done" LOL emoticon

Past my bed time... Nite all

Finally have a minute to catch up on deck....it's been a little crazy here since Sunday evening when I got a call from Larry that he had "cracked" his ankle in a mountain bike accident. Some good Samaratan's had stopped to help him out and lent him a phone. I managed to find Casey, and we drove the Subaru up to Larry, and I got him to the ER where we found he had a broken upper fibula (near the knee) and finger. His ankle is super swollen, and that is what his ortho is most concerned about. I've been taking him to his appointments, and getting as much of my routine in as I can fit.

So, if I'm not around much, you know why!

Better run, Larry's preparing dinner....and I have to make sure he doesn't break anything else! emoticon

Happy Wednesday...Yes!

Thanks Mary for the well wishes! Fresh air? Yes! we awoke to a gentle rain, washing the air...just beautiful. Everything gets a little drink of non chlorinated water! Yay!
Hehe...'went down in flames' ...love it! You sound good. Lots of activity the last 10 days or so...you must be feeling much more like yourself. Of course 70 degree temps must make you feel like running outside! Glad you were able to have some quality time with friends.

Wood- Great news! You and Luv there safely, warmer temps, enjoying fellowship with team members, games...living the good life for sure.
Sounds wonderful.

Snow- Thanks for yesterday! Like medicine for my soul. Your are one sweet lady ya know...glad 'things' are better for your boy and hubby. (Therefore you)
Don't you love this rain?

OK...I have to head down my list again...window guy arriving soon. Final measuring to place the order.

Life is good my friends,
Get out if you can.

Happy Wednesday Deckies!

Sounds like a wonderful trip Wood!

Temps in the 70s here as well... emoticon I played a tennis match yesterday morning for the first time since last summer...my captain sent out an emergency email just before my bedtime Monday night!...we would have to forfeit a court if I didn't play...it was really ugly, my partner and I went down in flames emoticon but the fellowship and sunshine sure were nice! emoticon emoticon

Hope you're all getting some fresh air as well!

Thanks for being concerned about me, my friends.

Yes. We safely arrived at the Hinton Rural Life Center on early Sunday afternoon. When we left our place in PA on Saturday it was -7 degrees! By the time we stopped for the night in TN it was 57 degrees. We gained 64 degrees in one day! It was wonderful! Then when we arrived at Hinton, it was around 70! We thought we were in heaven!!!!

There's only 8 of us in this group of volunteers this time, but it's an amazing group. We work hard, but we have a lot of fun as well. Last night after a full day of work, all of us went to a Folk Art School in the area and went to a folk song concert. Actually, it was more of a sing-a-long. What fun! Tonight, several of us just got together and played games. What a great way to live. I highly recommend when you're lucky enough to retire that you don't become inactive but you get out there with like minded people and keep doing things that matter and keep having fun!

Snow - I'm so glad to hear that your son finally was placed in an appropriate rehab facility. I hope it goes well there for him. I've been very worried for both him and you!

KB - Chin up! Do well in those mid-terms this week. You won't believe how important that education will become for you!

Mary - I love how much you're into your kid's activities! Remind me so much of the way Gloria and I were when our boys were in that stage. Enjoy the time! They grow up so quickly! Although I'm happy to say that even though my kids are closing in on 40, we still have so much fun with them!

Choc- I love your birdhouse project! When I run out of things to make in my shop, bird houses often come to mind!

So Maui, were the great views after drinking the Ridge wine or just at the winery? Either way I'm sorry I missed the experience.

Well, I'm tired and I need to get to bed. I promise to be back soon!

Have a great time everyone!

Life is good!

Good Morning deckies!

Wood-I hope you made it safely to NC. Finally warming up here just as you left :
Kay-I'm glad your back is doing better. Did you get to ski this weekend?

Maui- that's a LOT on your plate. I hope you're finding a balance and not feeling stressed.

Mary - How's your back doing today?

Snow - CHEERS-yay that your son finally got moved. I hope you can breathe a bit easier today.

Choc-50's this week-you too? I'm celebrating.

Tough weekend with eating, trying to get back on track today. It's a busy 2 weeks ahead with meetings, so I'm hoping I can keep my head on straight.

GOT DIRT?
emoticon Ohhhhhhhhhh yea, I got dirt, I got new pots, I got plants......
SUnny Sunday... emoticon LIFE IS GOOD, AND GETTING BETTER!

Our son got transferred FINALLY to a nursing/rehab facility closer to his home yesterday, and tho Im suffering still a little from stress overload, Im better today and my therapy is all going to be outdoors, which wont help the allergy part, but oh well...That I can deal with. Going up to see him in a day or two, let him spend time adjusting with his wife visiting this weekend.

Have a great day everyone, and thanks for the love and care that you always blanket me with during those few hardships we all encounter on the road of LIFE.

Who wants to join me for a change of the clocks midnight ride on LIFE tonite?? Im considering riding in Maui's front seat spot- if she will sit net to me holding my hand... you know Im the loudest screamer of any of you..... so I might not have a voice tomorrow.... but Im feeling like a super hero right now, so Ill challenge myself, hopefully I wont be alone!!
Turltes.... did someone say "turtles"? No turtles- not this time!! emoticon

Enjoyed time in the garden...gave my little lettuces some love...thinned them out, fertilized & watered...hopefully they will be happier...back in the gym now but there will be a little light left when I get home to fill some starter trays with cucumber, tomato & herb seeds! Loving the time change!

Kay I fermented some cucumber slices & cabbage...so sauerkraut & pickles in one little jar...success this time! I'll be roasting a chicken tonight...I love BC recipes...I gave mom one of her cookbooks for Christmas...

Time to watch my boy play some hoops...I'll try to drop by the deck tonight...I'm thinking a swim by the waterfall would feel great!

Pura Vida!
Mary

The chicken was a hit. I also made a Martha Stewart recipe for the second fennel bulb, it was roasted fennel and chickpeas. It was supposed to have grapes too, but I didn't have any....so just went with the fennel and chickpeas! Pretty tasty! I'm going to make a chicken quinoa casserole with some of the leftover chicken today, gotta fill up my stock of frozen lunches for work!

I ended up inside most of the day yesterday. Fixed up the downstairs room so I have a better yoga/workout place down there, and emptied another box from the move! Put some stuff in it's proper place, threw some stuff out...now I just need to keep up the momentum!

Choc, the birdhouses sound like a fun project!

Maui, nice that you can grow new stuff! I'll have to start thinking about what to put in my little container garden this year!

Maui... For my latest artsy crafty project, I picked up a bunch of little birdhouses at a local craft store (all different sizes and shapes)... I'm painting each of them with different designs, flowers, little "critters", etc and will be giving some away as birthday gifts this spring & early summer and hanging a few of them around my house too... It's a good project while I've been "stuck inside" during our bitter cold winter here... But now that we're getting more spring like temps I'm looking forward to some outdoor activities again (so I might end up finishing the rest of the birdhouses on "rainy days"... I have 2 done, one half done and about 4 or 5 not even started yet so this will be an ongoing project, LOL)

Our warmer weather is starting to melt some of the snow (still knee deep in places though)
... As much as I love the thought of Spring thaw, I've got to say with 3 dogs in and out of the house my floors are definitely going to need daily "quickie" mop ups! (And our back roads are already turning into muddy ruts! No such thing as a clean car when ya live on dirt roads in the spring thaw LOL) but even with all the mud I am REALLY REALLY happy that we're FINALLY warming up!

Evening Deckies!

Mary- Yes, I feel quite lucky indeed. Headed outside right after my post this morning, just came in and am awaiting my turn in the shower.
You day sounds quite nice. I have not for a long time been able to sleep in...just wake up. The last is whirling in my mind and off I go. Like Kay said...did you taste your fermentation yet? Remember, after you put it in the fridge it will slowly become more fermented...slow due to temps.

Kay- Yep...You and I went to Ridge. Great views today I bet. I figured I'd pull out something special for Wood's going away...too bad he missed it. Darn! ..Great we got to have it though, right?Your chicken sounds really yummy. I am growing fennel for the first time right now. Put that and cilantro where my had cabbage was. Its coming along, so we will see.

Choc-Oh my...I think I remember this doggie. Its a real good thing the weather is starting to cooperate with your menagerie. Crafts and company sound good to me. I worked out back. Trimmed and fed all the citrus. I figure the freezing temps are behind us.
What kinda crafty thing are you making? Your herb garden is starting to look quite lovely btw.

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

Wood ... Have a safe trip! Hope you were able to navigate your drive without too much trouble!

I'm taking care of my sister's big Bernese Mountain dog all this week, so my house is kind of like a "zoo" now with three dogs and two cats (my cats are not at all pleased with an extra dog in the house, LOL)

We're FINALLY looking forward to more seasonal weather this week and next... A "heat wave" in the mid to high 40's with maybe a day or two in the 50's! So happy to have our -20's below zero behind us!

Working on some "artsy crafty" projects this weekend... Be back later to catch up with all the posts I've missed

Have a Super Saturday everyone! Choc :)

Just keep swimming!

Never give up!

I imagine Wood is plugging away down the interstate by now, LUV at his side, perhaps singing along to the radio or a CD (if it was the '80's maybe an 8 track!, that's how we rolled!)

Snow, with all the stress you are under, I can imagine you would be feeling it physically....allergies or cold? Symptoms are pretty similar. Just pamper yourself a bit and get as much rest as you can bear! Hope the new CM gets the ball rolling to get your son placed well.

Mary, have you tried your fermentation experiment yet? Were you doing saurkraut, kimchi? Can't remember. I'll have to go check on my kombucha, it has been done earlier these days. I think it likes the warmer temps...

Maui, Ridge wine? Is that the one we visited? Good stuff....

I've decided to roast a chicken today, just got back from Trader Joe's, stocked up on the chicken, fennel, carrots, garlic and lemon (all for the chicken, it's a Barefoot Contessa recipe). I already had an onion, I think that's pretty much all the ingredients. For some reason I've been wanting roasted chicken lately.

It's a nice day out, so I'm going to try to head outside for a bit today!

You should be well on your way by now Wood...have a wonderful trip!

Lucky you Maui! Beautiful here as well but I'll be inside all day...work until 3, volunteering in the gym from 4-6, then Whole foods and my kitchen until 9ish...I slept in this morning because temps were in the 30s and I'm a bit sore from recent running and some strength workouts yesterday...10 hours sleep!...feeling so refreshed!

Tomorrow will be my outside day! Can't wait!!!

Enjoy the weekend everbody!
