Sorry to hear about that fire, Maui, bummer! We've felt pretty lucky this year not to have too many smoky days...

Jo, getting ready for your Thanksgiving! Yeah! emoticon Do you have turkey and all that?

We had a "triathlon" at CrossFit today! 300 double unders (I did 50 attempts and 600 singles) then 2000 meter row, then run a mile. I made it in under 30 minutes, just barely!

I found a new yoga class at the gym near work too, so now I'm trying to get in early on Tues/Thurs (my running days) to get to that, it's called Budokon yoga, and it's sort of a martial arts tinged yoga. We attempted handstands on Tuesday! emoticon and lots of plow!

Morning Deckies!

Wow...I had so much catch up to do upon my return...guess this is as it should be...
First day I went to see my disabled son. I was tired and it was a super long day, but mostly it went well. He seemed super happy to see us (it had been 18 days, which was long for this year). Anyhow...I slept better after the visit. A good thing.

Then yesterday we worked on some garden catch up. Yep..tomatoes, eggplant, lettuces, herbs, peppers, figs...melons...all growing well...yay!

Today, I get to go to the dentist and gyn doc. All's well, just regular check up. But getting a 2 for one day done...lol. Choc- I always think of you when I go...hehe.

Sadly another fire has broken out near us in the Santa Cruz Mts and I can smell it and see it.
I will have to be inside when not doctoring...I am sure I can find something to do! Always more on the list.

Kay- Venison moussaka...yum! You know venison has much higher levels of Omega 3 than big ag meats? Wild meat super healthy. Good for you.

Choc- we are up around 100 this week! Hot and fires! Ack!

Jo- Swim lessons ...super. I think every child should have them ! For so many reasons. Such a feeling of strength and accomplishment, conquering fear, and power when children learn to swim. Good for you!

OK...Gotta get ready!

Life is good my friends.
Have a super day.

Become the change you wish to see in the world.

I'm hankering for hardwood floors too....but it never seems to make it to the top of the "honey-do" list of Larry's!

Jo, bet the kids will love the swim lessons!

Maui, Hawaii.... emoticon emoticon nice that you could get away!

Yep, the kitchen smelled good after all that cooking! I ended up making a green sauce for the chicken enchiladas....they had tomatillos at the store, and I figured I could wing it somehow. I found a recipe in "the Joy of Cooking" for a roasted green sauce, and even got to use some of my home grown serranos! We took it to the French club last night. Not much left!

And the butternut pasta bake smelled good this morning too....so much that Larry wants to have it for dinner, even though it has ground venison in it (he has expressed a dislike of ground meat many times). Well he like the moussaka with the ground venison too...so I'm guessing this will be tasty!

Evening Deckies!

Choc- yes, I am here...sorry for being a bit busy. The good news is...it's been due to a 2 week vacation ! Outdoor adventure galore! Honest! Spent 2 weeks in Hawaii...hiking, snorkeling, turtles and more. I have much to report.
But...for now...I have to unpack and regroup. We were supposed to fly out yesterday, but our plane had mechanical issues, and after a long wait the pilot refused to fly without a new place being brought in. Long story...we are home safe and sound...super tired. Pictures and stories to come.
Hugs all around.
Wine on me tomorrow!

Thanks Kay...
Slow but sure it's definitely becoming
"Home Sweet Home" ... Trying to get all the outdoor jobs done before winter, that way I can spend "snowy days" on indoor improvements (want to put in hardwood floors in kitchen, living room and hallway... Then need to replace or redo the kitchen counters & back splash)

Jo... Hot tub early Sunday morning for sure (early enough to still be able to do some stargazing)... It's only going to be mid 40's in the morning so I'll need to take my coffee out there to sip on while I do that stargazing!

Planted 3 more Norway Spruce trees in my front yard, bagged up all the garden weeds and spread the 2 new piles of top soil that were dumped in my garden yesterday (lot of shoveling & raking!) ...
Garden is all ready now for Monday rototilling :-)

Maui... You out there? Waving at ya!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone

Your place must be looking quite nice there, Choc, sounds like lots of improvements being made!

Jo, we're getting into blanket weather too! It's definitely cooled down here the past few days, and even got some rain on Thursday....seems fitting for the season!

I've only got cooking plans for the weekend, I'm going to make a pasta dish with some butternut pasta I got at Trader Joe's, and a chicken enchilada casserole...so I need to head for the store in a bit!

First day of Fall was really warm here ... Got up to 83 degrees... Supposed to cool down to a more typical mid 70's for rest of this week into next week... Mornings have been nice & cool, and some of our trees are starting to change colors

Worked in my garden this morning, clearing out weeds in two of the "veggie beds" , had some new topsoil brought in (the soil that was dug up where my new sidewalk was being put in)... Next Monday those 2 veggie beds get a Fall Rototilling (the handyman that's installing my sidewalk is going to do that for me!)

The new brick paver sidewalk is almost done... Just needs a few touch ups and a sealer applied on Monday... Then reseed all the grass that was dug up around the walk and its "done" ...

Was a busy day but got lots done! Time for bed! ... Night all ... Choc

Brrrr.... emoticon Autumn is starting out chilly in Reno! Larry told me the high today is predicted to be 61 degrees...what? It's almost noon, and I still have my sweatshirt on.

Went to an early yoga class at the gym this morning...I"m off today, so I thought I'd check it out. Good stuff! Hit Trader Joe's on the way home, they are full of pumpkin/pumpkin spice everything.... emoticon

Went on a nice hike with a friend this morning at a county park not far from my home. (First time there... Won't be the last time!)

Home now ... Have a local handyman installing a brick paver sidewalk to my front porch... So while he's here I'm working on my computer making a photo book with pics from my Isle Royale backpacking trip. (I'm using Snapfish.com for that project)

Happy last day of Summer everyone! Tree leaves are already starting to change color here ... I'm thinking Autumn is my favorite season!

Happy Monday Deckies!

Choc- Congrats on the next 2 lbs! woohoo! It's steadily coming off! Well done you! That seems like good weight loss too...not too fast. I am very happy for you that the visit to the old place went well. Very reassuring for you too see the place being appreciated. Especially glad the Lilac is still there. :)

Kay- yes...food prep food prep...right? Seems to be such a big part of life...even when someone else is doing it! ;)
Hope your week goes well.

Jo-Nice view for the air show! Lucky.

Busy morning with this n that...so best get off myself. But I will checck back later and plan some serious time in the wood shop. Details later.

Well, Larry does most of the cooking....I just do my batches on the weekend, so I have "frozen dinners" to bring for lunch! I did forget about breakfast...but I have some stocked in the freezer that should get me through most of this week as well.

I gotta get going, it's Monday! Have to get to work!

emoticon Lost 2 more pounds! Total 30 pounds lost so far!

Visit to my old home was very nice ... The new owners have REALLY changed a lot of things but in a very "artsy" way... And still kept some of "my" old home vibes ... (Including a lilac bush that was given to me in memory of my older sister... Was happy to see that still there)... Was a nice visit and I could tell they love "my" home :-)

Hope to get out kayaking later today (or maybe a bike ride... Haven't done that in a LONG time!

Have a great Monday everyone! Choc

Today is the one year anniversary of moving to my new house! And oddly enough, the people who bought my old house have invited my sis and I to come see the changes they've made to my old place this afternoon ... Kind of a full circle I guess! Have mixed feelings on visiting the old place but curiosity got the best of me so heading that way in about an hour... Will seem strange being a "visitor" to a home I built and lived in for 26 years! (But maybe seeing how it's changed will be a good "closure") .... Anyway, I am happy in my new home, it was a good (and needed) move, so looking forward to starting my second year here (and hopefully many more years to come!)

Jo- Yes...I saw the Harvest moon this morning too! Amazing...beautiful ! I was heading out to watch sunrise for my walk...wow...love that time of day, any season, but the harvest moon is special times.
Good for you for getting out to do that walk before the heat. My plan most days.

Kay- tee hee...very cute story about Larry's shopping trip. White boards are a great idea...we used to have one, then we painted and it came down, didn't go back up. Yes...systems to get done what we gotta get done between a couple...who's job is who's? Keep the stress down...yep!
Hubby has been going to the store on his bike since he retired...and getting the one or 2 things we need. It's been great...keeps me out of the store, I don't see the deals...and we save money...haha. Poor Larry...sounds like a rough shopping experience. We are trying to be patient with each other as we learn to live together full time. Doing quite well I think, but not without bumps.

Kay- your cooking for yourself rather than processed food...yes...that counts for sure!

Hot tub time!
Might stay late since the moon is so gorgeous.

I saw that moon this morning....lovely sight! emoticon

Headed to the store early this morning...had to get lentils and garam masala (and a head of garlic and pureed tomatoes) for a dish I'm making tomorrow. Larry (bless his heart) tried to get that stuff yesterday, but the store he went to didn't have the garam masala, and he didn't note how much lentils I needed....and he ended up getting a jar of minced garlic (we already had one) and tomato paste. emoticon He may never want to shop for me again! Actually, I didn't mean for him to get the stuff, but when it goes on the white board, it ends up on the shopping list....we're working on a new system so he doesn't stress about stuff I'd probably prefer to get on my own. Boy that was longer than I intended!

Had a work related educational session today, and saw one of my former coders there, it was fun to see her and catch up!

Mary, I might go upside down on that zip line, it looks like he was harnessed in pretty well, and what a photo!

Choc, I was thinking your pooch sounded like a pin ball, or perhaps pong?

To Maui's question, what I am choosing today to be healthy? Hmmm.....I chose to come home and cut up an heirloom tomato and have that with some lentils I had cooked earlier, some feta and a piece of naan instead of eating the bar I had in my purse! Does that count?

Happy Friday indeed!

Mary, hahaha...great picture! How's he getting along with his cast. Adapted I hope.

Dan- National Forest trail building? This is great!!!! tell us more...hey...also...is it time for a late summer crick time? And duck float later? What ya think?

Kay- I have done some repelling as well...but not since I was about 20.
But yes...zip lines can be super fun. When I was working with teens for the UC, we'd have camps or leadership conferences with ropes courses and zip lines and all. Team-building, confidence enhancing, brain training...very cool stuff to be challenged. (Like you do all the time!)

Choc- Cold...wow...we will be heading again into the 90's. I did not think summer was over. But my eggplant, tomatoes and peppers will say 'thank you'!

Jo- OK...how is your friend doing with her sorting? Are you getting to the Y? Are you feeling some relief from the summer schedule?

Beautiful walk already today...I know...lucky me. But I also choose to go! So good for me!

OK...question of the day, 'What are you choosing today for yourself ...that's healthy?'

Have a great rest of the day peeps.

Trailwalker....yup, ground was definitely cold & damp! My feet took a long time to warm up! (Partly because it was also cold in my house but I refuse to turn the furnace on this early in September!!! LOL)

Went for a very short kayak outing on a very small lake a few miles from my house (I think it took longer to load & unload my yak than it actually did to paddle all the way around that little lake, LOL!!!) I did see an egret and a REALLY HUGE blue heron though so I'm glad I checked out that little lake!

I think I need to rename my poor blind nine year old pooch... Think I need to change her name to "Ricochet" cause the poor pooch can't walk through the house without bouncing off all the walls and furniture! (Either rename her or get her a helmet!) Actually for an old blind dog she does amazingly well ... Love that pooch!!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

42 degrees here this morning... "Note to self" don't spend 45 minutes on a cold morning walking around outside "barefoot" while watering the new pine trees! BRRRrrrr.... My feet feel like blocks of ice right now! LOL!!! ⛄️❄️ 😋

There really is a zip line to the hottub now! Awesome I am grabbing on and flying in! ... Whoops better lay the guitar on the rocking chair and put on my shorts first.

Out having fun building National Forests trails.

Kay... I'm kind of enjoying the "still dark" in the mornings when I get up (4:30)... I usually feed my dog & cats, then grab a cup of coffee and go out to the hot tub ... Now that it's still dark at that time I can start my day off "star gazing" while sipping on that first cup of coffee, LOL

Mary... My yard is just over one acre, but with all the trees and flower beds that I have to work around, it definitely slows down the lawn mowing process

Maui... I have an "old" riding mower (no zero turn, no power steering) that I use on part of my lawn (just trying to turn it is a great upper body workout, LOL)... I also use a push mower and "weed whacker" to cut the grass around the apple & pine trees & flower beds... So that's why mowing the lawn is a 2-hour
process by the time I use all my "tools"
(Maybe I should just get some goats, LOL... If I could just teach them not to also eat the flowers & veggies!)

Never tried using a zip line but I'm guessing I'd love it (Maui, your description of a mattress tied to a tree made me think of the movie & cartoon, "George of the Jungle!" ... Now I'm going to be humming that theme song all day long!)... "George, George, George of the jungle, WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!" LOL!!!!

Just keep swimming!

Never give up!

Howdy Deckies!
Morning hike complete, just had my first meal...and now my cup of coffee.

Kay- Running, cooler temps...bet it felt great! Woohoo!
My legs felt much better today...haha..guess Saturday's hike soreness is behind me...hehe.
Whew.
Kay, I thought about this plan for many many eyars...and having those trees come down was a pretty good push...haha...the yard looks awful...nothing but dirt and weeds who can survive zero water. Haha...When I think about it, my excitement is hard to contain. You'll get there.

Choc- you using the push mower???? Great exercise! whoa...strong gal you are!

Mary- AC down...ack! I think that was hubbies major goal for retirement was making sure he could have AC if needed. Our solar more than covers all we need plus 2 car chargers. ;)
Retirement planning...right? You know i hear you about taxes...good for you...2days early! It's not easy to make ourselves do these things we don't enjoy.
Bleh.
But deep breath...now it's done, yet again.
I had some eggplant with my eggs this morning...I was thinking, 'I bet may would enjoy this....eggplant, yellow sweet peppers, onion, capers, parsley, I added a bit of goat cheese to the eggs and a teeny sprinkle atop the eggplant. A half a slice of toast...yum. Summer not over yet! ;)
And 911...yes...much to consider. I saw an article last week about the numbers on 'both sides'. Staggering. I think of the women and children in these war torn areas with zero options. The young men who feel so disenfranchised in life they choose decisions we can not even beginning to understand. Sad all around. But yes...our first responders...in those moments...
It's good to think of a better world for all of us.

Great zip line plan...let's make it so! How do we start???

Jo- Oh yes...I love a zip line too! HAha...we were that family when our kids were growing, that some parents kept their kids away...hahaha...we had a redwood we let the kids climb. We had a zip line out of the redwood down across he yard to another large tree with a mattress tied to the tree in the summer. We had a come-along cable attached to slow them down and break as they came down toward the second tree...haha. Then they had to climb down the ladder and go climb back up the redwood. When our tree came down last fall...several of these kids wrote us notes about their memories of this sweet tree. Zip line...great fun.

Great day ahead...some friends are coming to visit! Company ahead for the next week or so...fun!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I missed some fun over the weekend - zipline - love it!

Shrimp-baiting season started Friday here - I'm taking my cast net and bait "pucks" to the crick to see if I can catch some shrimp to share at the hot tub tonight! emoticon

Maybe we can set up zip-lines on the trees of Ben Frien so when we hike up we can zip-line all the way down to the treehouse and then to the crick!

Jo - I'm a big Patsy Cline fan - what a nice visit with sis!

Kay - balloon weekend - beautiful! And a bike ride and CF event - fun stuff!

Choc - my goodness your lawn must be huge - 2 hours of mowing! great job!

Maui - yes much to think about on 911 - many first responders from here and other towns silently walked our bridge on Sunday...great that you're taking advantage of cooler weather with hikes and projects - busy, busy - as always! Way to go!

Cooler here too - thank goodness because our AC is shot - but with a ceiling fan and 3 other fans blowing sleeping has actually been quite pleasant - if it were up to me I'd keep the windows open - but hubby & son like things a little cooler...

OK - time to print my business tax returns - 2 days before deadline this year - sadly, that's good for me!

Pura vida!
Mary

Kay- Great about the biking! Understandable about the fatigue at Cross Fit...that's a demanding workout! Oh you'd have loved this hike! No doubt.

I am finding the ease of the seasonal changes too. Garden chores shifting, temps cooling. Nighttime much lower...a bit of a break.
Leaves us more time for outdoor play. Got out for an early walk, a gym class, then to the shore and even took a dip.
Wow eh?

October has many plans...so I have to take advantage now! Remember that redwood tree and 3 birch trees than came down? and the yard that is totally dead? well, October is the month of hope and new life. We have a plan and hope to have all the work done to replant (and water system etc) by November 1. Digging! Yay!
My dream of a California Native Drought tolerant yard is going to happen.
So...now is the time to play a bit. :)

So...hot tub anyone?
That's where you'll find me.

We ended up mountain biking on Sunday....and guess who was tired at CrossFit today? emoticon That would be me!

Choc, we're cooling down a bit too, especially at night, it does make the sleeping easier! Glad you got to see a good movie!

Maui, that's my kind of hike! It probably would have killed me in my current state...

Jo, glad you had a good time with your sister!

Maui... Thanks, I definitely need that cup of coffee! Your hike sounds awesome!

Cooler weather here at last! Day temps in the 70's, and this morning it was 48! Bright sunshine all day...I'll take this kind of weather ANYTIME over hot and muggy temps!

Yesterday we went to the show to see "Sully" ... Great movie! (The audience in the theater actually applauded at the end of it... Can't remember many movies where that happened! (If you go see it, stay for the credits at the end... They interview some of the real survivors including the real Sully)

My garden is "done"... Pulled up all the tomato and pepper plants, corn (that never produced) got pulled up last week... Also pulled up all the "weed barrier" cloth... Now need to either hand dig & turn the soil or might look into renting a rototiller to do that job (still have my grapes, berries and asparagus beds that I will leave to "winter over")

Also mowed my lawn (a two hour job)
So now I'm just relaxing and thinking maybe the hot tub will feel pretty good tonight.... Who wants to join me?

Just keep swimming!

Never give up!

Hello Deck friends!

OK...anniversary of 911...a time to appreciate, as we can and should every day, our loved ones and good friends.
Give someone you love an extra hug today.

Kay- Congratulations on eh cross fit challenge! Well done team! ah...and beautiful hot air balloon weekend for you...lovely. So pretty.

Jo- ahhhh...I bet it was a fun night...Patsy Cline. Music...love music.

Hubby and I made it on a ridiculous fun and challenging hike yesterday. It was steep, slippery, rocky, elevation change over 7000 ft elevation change..hahaha...we can feel it today! Our legs are very much wondering what the heck? eels great!
with our garden less demanding we are trying to get out on some adventures...

Hot tub for me...this morning! hehe...

Choc- I made the coffee, you want to join me? (I know it's later for you. lol...

We made it through the competition! It was so much fun, even though were were representing the bottom of the pack....well, someone has to do it! And it was a fund raiser for children's cancer research, so a good cause. Our box had 6 teams competing, so we were well represented!

Choc, love the kayak pics! That place looks so beautiful!

Jo, those kids are so cute! Have fun at your event tonight.

Dan, zip line! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! emoticon

Maui, I love the hills too....I guess I'd better living up here!

The balloon races started Thursday, it was such a treat to see the balloons on my way to work, they have a pirate parrot this year that was fun to see. I hope I can just sit back and enjoy them tomorrow...

My goodness busy times, fantastic times...indeed.

Dan, did we ever have fun last night on that zip line! Great idea! The basket for carrying goodies down was a life saver..haha...now we don't have to schlep the food and beer down there! HAha...very cool. But the ride...how fun. You know how I love to feel that breeze on my face, eh trees whizzing past. love it!
But the soak , floating on the tubes last night...very nice my friend.
Great way to end the day.
I am glad I didn't miss out!

Jo- Your gd...adorable. Made to the weekend...hope she can catch up on rest and next week she'll feel more adapted.

Mary- long trip to Mom's ...how'd the train work out?
Ah....teenage boys! LOL...yes...teh 'KNOW A LOT"...compared to their folks and just about anyone else...but just enjoy it...hehe...eventually they will figure out you did learn something along the way. and he needs you and wants you there...he just has to prepare for real independence one day...it'll be ok. Just keep being there, hehe...they come back.

OK...Hike day! I gtg...back later gators!

Hey Deckies!

Hot here too but not like it was in July & August...

Drove to mom's yesterday to bring her here for a dental visit...all looks good...she wanted me to drive her back after her appointment this morning but it's 3+ hours round trip - that's alot for me two days in a row (I don't enjoy driving)...I asked if she would be ok taking the train in the morning so that's what we're doing...her first time on a train in many, many years...she'll be fine - she gets off at first stop and a friend will meet her there and drive her the 3 blocks to her house...

Open house at school this evening so I'll be seeing lots of teachers! emoticon

Amelia is such a cutie! I bet she'll be exhausted by every school day for a few weeks! Such a change for her! I'm up for a swim!

Maui - Loved the hike and the waterfall. I'm jealous of your conversations with your son - I don't get much out of my son these days! (except for the looks - the one's that say "mom you really don't know anything about anything") Teenagers! But he does need me for food and these days also to help him tape a bag on his cast so he can shower - other than that he's pretty independant.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoons!

How about some swimming under the waterfall tonight?

Pura vida!

Mary,
Yes...troubling and worrisome.
But I am also doing well with being at peace about it all and enjoying my time with him. He is quite a brilliant one, passionate about what he reads and writes...so there is much to enjoy with all the passion he exhibits in spite of how he feels.

Hills! Yes! I am always ready for hills...I prefer hills to flat actually...so yes, let's go!

Oh my...taxes...yes...we have mid term taxes to file as well...bleh. I hope your efforts go swiftly and smoothly with regards to taxes!

Thanks for the hike! Maybe we can sit by the waterfall tonight. That's a sound that truly soothes my spirit.

I can't imagine how hard it must be having a child with a serious illness. Glad the worst has passed and that you were able to get all of his meds. Hope med increase improves his energy level. Poor guy is right ):

Want to take a hike up Ben Frien this morning and try to leave some of your worries there? I'd love the challenge of a little elevation change! Anybody else want to join?

Working hard on taxes - yep, even tho' I retired I still filed an extension this year - some things never change and one of those things is me procrastinating when it's something I don't enjoy doing!

Have a happy Wednesday!

Evening Deckies!

Oh Mary- I hope you are still in the Hot tub! Regardless, I am ready for a soak.
I had a long couple days...super tired. Early morning, drove up to see my son. He is managing for now...but has had a rough rough week. I think we are over the worst. I was able to get a med increased and refilled everything for him, so he dose not have to go on his own for a bit. He is much more fatigued than I have seen in a few months. :( Poor guy. It is hard not to worry.
So...Hot tub sounds good.
I am ready to relax, star gaze, chat about fall, breathe the clean outdoor air.
:)

Jo- Hey...what a great picture and first day! Yes, yes yes...a good teacher can be a huge step in the way of a good year. I bet you and Mary have missed many of the stories here on the deck of teachers...Wood and Choc are retired teachers. I too was a teacher/leader/trainer for the UC (University of California Youth Development, County Rep) Worked with children and adults. Teachers...foundation builders. Glad your Grandson had a great day. Our grandchildren in Wales started today as well !

OK...hot tub time fore sure...then more catch up tomorrow!

A little consideration, a little thought for others makes all the difference.

You gals funny today

AND what great pictures

Choc just amazing views ...

Mary great idea for the double swing..choice of views --awesome.

I have so many great memories as I am sure you all do..
-- one--- we had a huge sand pile on our farm property... I would climb to the top --about 9 years old then... and see how far I could get jumping to the bottom.. being competitive I would always have to beat everyone in the neighbor hood ... that is how I blew out my knees ... lol but oh so fun... never learned proper form jumping down a hill..

Ladies it is back to normal here with school starting tomorrow.
Summer over but not according to the weather --highs into the 30's next few days...

Mary hope the back is better and the hot tub helped

night everyone

Haha...I was wondering who & how long for a shagging joke! Kay you win the prize & you were fast!

"The Shag" is dance here in the southeast...I guess a slower version of the Lindy describes it...big on college campuses especially with the frat crowd...my mom's next door neighbor & his college daughter won a contest recently in my hometown...I'll try to find a link to that video & post...I'm sure kids from elsewhere who attend college here love texting home that they were shagging all night!

& Great job at CF!

Choc - beautiful place to kayak! You do look "glam" - all the big stars hide behind their shades & floppy hats!

Maui - son has Feb birthday so was during olympics when he turned 7...I sent out invites congratulating kids for being selected to represent a country with that country's flag on the invite...some of the games involved finding objects with their flag on it...one game was assembling a pvc marshmallow shooting gun & Shooting at a target (biathlon lol)...I gave 3 gold medals for each event & there were lots of random events so all 15 or so boys won medals (thankfully - I was so worried there would be a non-winner who would be upset - 7 is a very competitive age!). Fun afternoon I hadn't thought of in a very long time!

Ok I tweaked my back a bit yesterday - muscular - hot tub will feel great! Hope y'all can join me!

Pura vida!
Mary

Happy Labor Day Deckies... I'm "exhausted" and have REALLY sore arms from kayaking "hard" but boy was it fun and the views were FANTASTIC! .... Place called Turnip Rock in Port Austin, Michigan (right at the tip of the "thumb").... my first time there, going out: nice and easy... coming back the wind had picked up and we were paddling into the wind and waves the whole way back
.... tired, betting my arms are gonna get "revenge" by tomorrow, but was a fun day with friends!

(LOL, I look so "glamorous" in that photo...LOL... and that was BEFORE the hard trip back!)

Just keep swimming!

Never give up!
