I'm not faithful to any one brand for any specific makeup product.
It's been an ongoing journey to find products which work for me.
Some current favs are:

eye primer - MAC paint pot
Avon products - lipsticks, diamonds lip gloss, diamonds pencil eyeliners, face primer(magix perfector)

I do swear by Cetaphil moisturiser. My dermatologist put me on this about 20 yrs ago.

I have used many products from Covergirl to Clinique to Sephora. Currently, I use and sell mark.!!! I swear by it!!! It's fabulous, it compares with Mac, Smashbox, Urban Decay, and more but is much more affordable... Message me if you want more info :)

I really love mark. because EVERYTHING in my beauty bag comes from there and they have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed return policy... if for ANY reason big or small you don't like the makeup you can "return" it and get your money back. I say "return" because they let you keep it and you still get your refund, A-MAZING!!!

Oh how I love makeup! Well, my makeup bag is so diverse right now, I am not sure which way to go. I need to replace and replenish. I have Clinique eyeliner, (the soft, gel liner)Almay mascara, which I think is actually irritating my eyes, MAC blush, lip gloss, liner, and lipstick. I LOVE the MAC lip stuff, especially since it smells like vanilla. I'm not currently wearing foundation because I was wearing bare escentuals and then I saw a few disconcerting reviews by Dr. Oz and a makeup artist I know.
For my wedding I had MAC makeup done and it looked awesome! I'm contemplating going back for an everyday look, but always in the market for some fresh ideas!

Does anyone remember the "Victoria Jackson" make up line from TV? I STILL order their foundation, it's not expensive really (I think I last got 2 for $20) and they come with 2 shades each so you can mix lighter or darker with the seasons. I used to save it for special times b/c it is HIGH coverage but recently started putting in on mega lightly with a foundation brush and it's much easier to wear everyday.

I've ordered every combo of foundation I can come up with from the 'big two' MAC/Bobbi and they change slightly it seems with each new batch. (for me)

I am SO bummed, the closest stores to me for Mac Or Bobbi are a 2 hour drive each way..BUT..I made them with special booking for what I thought was a specially trained makeup artist for the brand/s. With Bobbi Brown, I made an appt with a 'visiting' artist At SAKS supposedly trained directly by BB, had to put down a $50 deposit just to get an appt for the promotion weekend at Saks. Planned for it, made a special trip ...and the women they had hired for the day were just local cosmetologists with no more clue (or training) then I had about the products (all I wanted was a perfect foundation really!) At the very end of the 'makeover' the promoted 'special' BB artist came by and assesed it and suggested a pink lip gloss. Really? Thats IT?? The 'make up artist' I had couldn't even find any of her brushes and expounded on how big a deal that was in judging the product results...gee..thanks. I didn't just pop in, I made an appt 2 months in advance!

Grrr. Makes me nuts to think about it after all that wasted driving. Sorry, didn't mean to rant there...

Being a poor grad student spending most of my money on books, I have very little left to splurge on makeup. I've been saving up though to start building a collection of more high-end makeup brands. But for now, I am content with my Physician's Formula mineral wear, which works surprisingly well and leaves me with enough coverage and a luminous glow. I also love everything Rimmel especially their eye stuffs.

OK, i might get killed by all you MAC fans, but I used MAC for a long time, and you know what? i don't think the quality is all there. Now, at $15 for a lipstick, they are still a touch cheaper than some of the other high-quality brands like Make UP FOR EVER and Urban Decay, and a lot cheaper than B Brown (who I think wants $20 for a lipstick). Now i started college in 1990, and MAC was THE brand for fashionable girls. And then in the 2000s, I got hooked on Benefit because of all the hip packaging. But ugh, after trying some of the good brands, I now know Benefit isn't all that good either...their lipsticks just suck.

But honestly, MAC prices have not changed much in 20 years, and you'd think that'd be a good thing, but the MAC eye primer is just crap...nothing bu a heavy concealer (their studioFix 50spf primer and powder are better). The eyeshadows are just okay and NO BETTER than Loreal HIP line. The lipsticks are very good. So for those of you who said you wish you could afford MAC, the HIP line from L'Orlean is pretty good; try it. Even the little brush you get with the liner is good (go really slow when you apply it and use tiny strokes...that's the secret to great eyeliner.

What lines do I think are good quality? For skincare, definitely Mary Kay. Have not tried Avon in a long time. For makeup that really stays put, try Make Up For Ever, B Brown, and Urban Decay, and be sure to use a primer always. MUFE and UD both have a $17 eyeliner that stays PUT all day. BBrown has very classic colors that look great on those of us over 35.

My absolute fav makeup brand is Anna Sui. It's not very popular in the States although it is an American brand, but it's caught on like wild fire in the far East. Their makeup is of very high quality and the price shows! On top of that, her packaging is amazing. Also, I think that any Anna Sui cosmetic user will tell you that the smell is fabulous. You can't buy any of their products on-line yet. Only store I hv found is at SoHo New York. www.makeup4all.com/wp-content/upload

Avon Perfect Wear lasts as well!!! I wear that with a light mineral make up powder over it and it lasts me through a three hour session of karate. Oh and the waterproof eyeliner glimmer sticks last too!!! Those three products are the reason that I started selling Avon actually. That and the fact that I needed money. LOL. But it is not a shameless plug it actually does work a lot better than the clinique that i used to wear and it is a lot cheaper too!

My favorite make-up in the whole world is Aromaleigh mineral make-up. They usually offer twice the amount of product at half the cost of the famous brands. The ingredients are also the best. The company just released a new eye shadow collection that's to die for. Check it out.

I am right now wearing Joelle Minerals that I picked up on Ebay. It's an affordable alternative to Bare Minerals, and works quite nicely. I'll soon be checking out Everyday Minerals, through their free sample program. For lipstick, I like Clinique's "different lipsticks." They're sheer, lightweight, and fragrance free.

As for skin care, I'm sold on Oil of Olay's Regenerist micro-sculpting cream and eye serum; and use Neutrogena's Healthy Skin cleanser.

For color: M.A.C., Lancome, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay.
For base: philosophy the supernatural under Prescriptives Custom Blend Foundation and Powder.
For eyelashes: FiberWig.
For really crazy fun stuff: Make-Up Forever and Krylon.
For skin care: I use the Clinique 3 Step, but I hate their make-up, except for their eyeliner. Oh, and the Almost Lipstick, Black Honey.

I have a penchant for very expensive make-up, but I am not a snob. I will pretty much try anything once.

Well, I see a few of you are Mary Kay Gals! I LOVE Mary Kay & I sell Mary Kay! I uhave used for 28 years & started being a Consultant 5almost 5 years ago. All 3 of my married daughters love & use it too. I love thier buy back garantee! They have all the new stuff as far as mineral powders too! They are really getting with it these days.
If you are interested, email me & I will give you my web site. I LOVE that they are affordable too!
edit: I have just read all of the comments here, and it looks like I am not the only Mary Kay Consultant, but I am the oldest! LOL
When it comes to skin care ladies, the most important thing is that you have 1 skin care system, as it is meant to work together, so, cleans, exfoliate, moisturizer & foundation should all be 1 brand, as they compliment each other. Of youa re not using a cleanser or moisturizer, then shame on you! It WILL catch up! With Mary Kay, the foundation is meant to help seal against the impurities of the invironment, so it is part of our skin care. Just figured I would add this!

I LOVE MAC!but it not all i use, after all it can get pricy. I'd think i have enough MAC product to pay off a couples months rent! I love the new covergirl mascara, it comes in a bright orange tube, the brush is BIG, which coats every lash. When it comes to eyes, I try to stick to MAC eyeshadows and bases. #1 RULE when it comes to applying eyeshadow, always use a shade stick, i use MAC in beg-ing, that is the name color of the shadestick, ok i just realized i am obessed with makeup.....LOL

I have and LOVE Everyday Minerals (www.everydayminerals.com). I'm totally addicted since finding them a little over a year ago. (Their free samples sucked me in. LOL) It took me awhile to find my foundation match (they have an abundant selection) - about five sample kits but now that i've found it, I am in complete love. EVERYONE should try them. ;0)

My favorite type of makeup was Fashion Fair. They are discontinuing it. So I have tried E Lauder but I am thinking about trying MAC. I go through a creme foundation and powder in a month's time. What am I doing wrong? emoticon

The ONLY product line that helps to keep my acne free seems to be Mary Kay.

My first mini-goal is to get down to 119.5 lbs (and break that 20's barrier). I am on my way!

There's a startup kit from Bare Minerals which runs about $60, but it's got a lot of stuff in it, and it's enough to last for a few months. It was worth the cost for me considering how much you get. Plus, it has the skin revver-upper in it, and that works great on blemishes.

The moment is as it is. You can use your energy trying to figure out how you got here, or you can start from here and move forward. I choose to move forward!

I use L'Oreal Bare Naturals mineral makeup, which I really enjoy for the price -- I use the finishing powder as well. I use maybelline or revlon blushes usually, but am saving up to buy a Bare Naturals Blush and one of their "Glow" all over colors.

I got my makeup done for a wedding, and they used Bare Minerals, and I really liked it, but since we are a single income family I can't bring myself to spend that much on my foundation right now, since Bare Naturals works just as well, they just don't have some of the special products that Bare Minerals has that helps with perfecting skin that has acne scarring etc., which I would love to have.

I do have a Bare Minerals lipstick and lip gloss that I got when I got my makeup done and I love the lipstick! It goes on and stays on and is so smooth! However, I have quite a lipstick collection, I like Maybelline, Revlon, Mary Kay -- those are the ones I have the most of.

For eye makeup I tend to like Maybelline, but I'm starting to be attracted to those L'Oreal Hip pigment ones -- I want some more dramatic color! I really need help with how to accentuate my somewhat small, brown eyes. Anyone got suggestions for that?

Mascara I use Maybelline Great Lash or Intense XXL Waterproof.

My favorite brands are:

1. Neutrogena
2. CoverGirl
3. M.A.C.

I have bought make up from other brands BUT those three brands up there are the ones I prefer.

I have found for lotions and creams I cannot beat AVON products. They have really helped w/ aging skin. I am forty-one and I had someone mistake me for being in my early thirties emoticon , as far as make up I also love AVONs eye products, mascara shadow etc.. and a tinted moisterizer. everyone needs to find their own perfect fit and sometimes it takes years of trial and error. Have a great week Ladies emoticon

I LOVE Everyday Minerals for foundation, powder, blush, eyeshadow.

Revlon for lipsticks and eyeshadow.

Loreal for lipsticks, eyeshadow, and mascara. Voluminous is the best mascara I've used and it's only like $4, you can't beat that!

I'm a MAC girl 95%, though I dabble with drugstore lines when they bring out interesting or unusual colours - I'm the kind of person who HATES brown/beige/rose natural makeup and likes things bright, colourful and zingy!

I'm all for Covergirl mascara and tinted moisterizer!!! I also skip lipstick, bc I don't need it. Instead, I use a coccoa butter lipgloss and light shimmer cover on top for added shine.

It seems every time I find something that I like, it either breaks out my skin or gets discontinued. My current one is a take on bare minerals and it is by Loreal. I like it however, I would like to get the finishing powder and the blush. Each of the mineral lines are around 12-15 each. I guess it is cheaper then bare minerals however I can't spend 45 on makeup in 1 visit.

which make-up brand do you like best or use most often. I find that I don't use all one line of make-up. I might use loreal in one thing, revlon in another etc.
