Sunshine, they suggest you weigh in on the same day each week:) Great job on getting more veggies in! I've noticed that too, i have been buying and eating more veggies now than before. I also eat fruit but stop with fruits after 4pm.

I want to try a chili recipe this weekend. I always feel more lax on the weekends so on Sunday want to have a nice hearty meal. I'm still craving my fried chicken so might need to make a niche for it in my Saturday points. emoticon emoticon

Pls let us know which recipes you like! I was trying to find the vegetable soup on the recipe forum. Just haven't had any luck yet. emoticon

So I took a sneak peek at the scale today and the numbers are moving. Sometimes I get up at night and eat. I am truly hungry.. I am a nursing mom p/t. My daughter nurses mostly at night now. ... Wondering when I joined weight watchers if I have to use the same day for my weigh in? I started following the program last Thursday but joined online on Sunday. So far getting more of a variety of veggies in my life... Watching portions...my pain is starting to go away.. So soon I will be able to exercise.. emoticon emoticon emoticon

My weight's already going back down from the sodium and fat fest of Friday/Saturday. Feeling optimistic that this is the year I'll lose all of this fat. Also that this is the year all of those good habits will finally hit home and become second nature.

One of the tips by WW really struck home. I'm sure others will follow. Put your fork down between bites and take a sip of water. Now I don't do it with every single bite but I see the point and am doing this more regularly now.

I am also going to try a couple of WW recipes this weekend.

Well I had a gain on Saturday. I weigh in on Saturday mornings and on Friday night went to happy hour with co workers(didn't go too crazy) even so the gain was not unexpected. I had a little over a pound loss on Friday morning when I weighed in at home. I'm not stressing out. In fact I did well at a birthday party this weekend. Only ate 2 slices of pizza and 1 cupcake. It was great. I wanted more but held off. Was desperately craving fried chicken yesterday, even got in my car and all but stopped myself. I can build into it next week. I already had pizza and happy hour this weekend. I didn't need to add any more.

My scale already started going down today so keep on truckin' emoticon

Well I am just about through my first full week of WW. It's not as hard as I thought it was going be at all. And if my home scale is to be believed, I am down just over 5 lbs. Not bad. Official weigh-in is Monday at 1 pm, so we shall see if the numbers match. I am almost certain that my home scale is a bit wonky, but at least I know I am headed in the right direction.

All the tracking and looking and weighing and measuring is not as much of a pain the neck as I thought it would be, so I guess this is something I can live with for the duration of my journey. I'm in it for the long haul, so I better like what I am doing!

Hope everyone had a great Saturday and here's to a good week coming up!

I just made a big kettle of WW vegetable soup yesterday. Afternoon snacking has been my biggest hurdle and I hope this will help me feel satisfied. I used low sodium chicken broth as a base and added lots of vegetables. It tastes really good!

Started ww today. Hope I see a diff on the scale next week. I don't know what scale number to use.. Yesterday's which is a bit higher or today's? I did start yesterday watching what I was eating yesterday... But never tracked.. Just ate sensible. Looking forward to connecting with everyone.

i have lost 3 inches . emoticon

the yoga & stationary bike has paid off . mostly i lost in the thigh area .
i suggest to any one listening . rely on your emoticon over your scales .

gr8by just keep a eye on calories !!!! I did the 26 a day went into a stall for 3 weeks
my calories were like at 765& 900 . i up the calories , used my flex points with in 4 days
i started to lose weight . Good Luck

Hi there fellow WWers. I just joined WW yesterday so I am on Week 1, day 2. I am a big girl (have 80 ish to lose) and I am 47 -- my points are 35 daily + 49 Flex points per week. So far it's going well. My total points for yesterday was 36, so I used one of the 49 already. Today is going better and I don't think I will go over. For right now, I really want to stick to my dailies only; if I allow myself too much freedom (flex points) I fear I will get out of control. I will try very hard for the first few weeks to NOT use the flex.

I only have 10 weeks officially on the program (it's an at work thing), but if this works for me, I will continue the plan, just not the meetings. I need a kick in the pants to get me going, that's why I signed on for the 10 week deal. I really can't afford it, and some dear friends actually paid for it for me!

Glad to see this Team here, and I hope I can learn from you all!

Katherine, I just saw the news that you had broken through your plateau. I hope this means that you now have the balance conquered. Congratulations! that is very big!!!

I finally broke the 151.5 i weighed in 150.5 this am
I went back and started to count the fruit calories & carbs . in 4 days I loss after over 3

yes I dont mind at all .
this morning I had my 1/2 cup oatmeal .
snack 15 tiny wholegrain crackers with one tbs of cream cheese
I had 1/2 grape fruit & 4 large grapes . tonight its up for debate a cheese burger or burrito .
mostly I fill my plates with a variety of beans , measured out to 1/2 cup . maybe 5 tiny crackers. I have WW dinners . I eat eggs & whole grain bread but not very often .
I dont care for pasta or meats . I love mexcian food . like rice yet again I have it seldom .

yes I stay with in 26 points a day untill I realized I wasn't getting 1200 calories a day.
so this week i have stepped back since Tuesday , made sure I got those calories ,
I love fish . but its breaded . I do shrimp . I do eat some veggies , but not every day
I like stir frys . the scale went down .5 since Tuesday .
i do portion control also .not much in diary .I was eating every night 3 root beer barrels
candies . I figured what are they ???/ until I looked it up. I feel its not the plan , its me
as I learn more about WW I still want to give it a good chance. the carbs are balance with protein. so its a learning process . how are you doing chocolate ????

I am new. I get 31 daily points. My husband and I live with family, so it is hard to control what we have for dinner. Everyone knows that I am doing WW, but none of them have weight problems. Basically, we sit down every morning and talk about what is for dinner. So, I put everything in my tracker, decide what I am going to eat for dinner (based on the choices.) Then, I basically plan the rest of my day around that.

I agree WW is balance . I make sure I get those 1200 calories . now today I had 1/2
cup of grapefruit . it had 69 calories . 17 carbs . Carbs is a down fall for me.

I have been at 151.5 for 3 weeks . this week is different . looking at calories & points .

one of the team members went over to low carb . never will I do that . so its a matter
of tweaking it i suppose, any tips are appreciated .

Looks as though everyone is making progress in one way or another in this group. WW just seems to be a balancing act and getting it right can seem daunting especially at first. I weigh in every day although the meetings all say your shouldn't do that, but I just need that feedback. This a.m. my weight is up 2.5 pounds from what it was yesterday a.m., but I realize that I probably overdid on sodium items yesterday. Also, I cooked a chicken dinner and I know that there were BLT's that I should have avoided. I fixed stuffing for DH but tasted it more than once in preparation. It isn't just what goes on that plate. Hope I learned a lesson. I'm going to drink more water today.

i am new also
what I researched . 360 points plus . The main difference, is that carbs is focus on .
like a item might have been 2 points , due to the high carbs it will be 4 points .
there is a ww calculator n line. I use it often . you data input the fat, fiber, protein, carb
it will tell you the points . Now there is also generic WW on line . page after page of points,
I compared them to my point book . these points are to me the old points. fruit count .
veggies count. as where now they dont. but I read green veggies are free .

i get 26 points daily & 49 to use through the week . you can not carry them over to next week.
I had days under 26. now I have the problem that my calories are to low . so I count fruit
calories . I do points & calories on my tracker from sparks

I've never been on WW before so my responses to your questions are limited...

I started off with 28pts + 49 weekly points plus. Once I dropped the 5lbs it brought my daily points down to 27. It is my understanding you cannot go below 26pts per day.

As for the difference, don't know. I did hear about how fruits counted before but now they are 0 points.

I am curious about the new WW program. What is new, what is different? Can you tell me?

Does EVERYONE get 26 points for the day?

I found out when I came back to the points system, that I had been eating WAY TOO MANY, which I am sure is why I was gaining steadily.

So much encouragement going on! I love it!! emoticon

Well my first week on WW and I dropped 5.4lbs. Insane! I even realized I'm eating more than when I counted calories and this past week I barely worked out (back is still an issue). I know every week will not be like this but it was a good incentive.

I am getting the hang of the points and eating a ton more of fruits and veggies. The points alone don't cut it for me. I sneak freggies in all over to fill me up. Also trying new things which is great. I am excited to see where the scale lands this week for me. If I lose 2lbs that would be wonderful! emoticon

We CAN do this, together...sometimes one food in front of the other. Don't give up, don't give in. I stepped on the scale this am and I see it moving the right way and I'm half way to 180, after that, I re-set my eyes to 170. I'm very encouraged.

KATHARINEBRAY & everyone.... if you get hungry you need to grab a fruit or a veggie and a glass of water this should hold you overnight.... Most fruits and veggies are 0 pp and a good way to fill the hunger... Not sure about your older book for points being that it changed so much from the old way.. The old way counted calories and now it no longer has calories in the equation its hard to compare... But you do need to realize that if you don't get all your servings of fruits and veggies in daily your calorie intake is well below 900 calories a day and is very unhealthy... Which could be a reason your not losing... You do need to also take into count if your eating the Smartones they are very high in sodium and you can hold 2 to 3 lbs of water... water consumption is a PLUS too flushes out all the unwanted sodium and makes the fiber your eating work the way it needs to.. Good Luck to everyone on this journey you will get there you just have to BELIEVE in YOURSELF!!!!!

Happy Sat to all, Well today is my daughter Breanna birthday she turn 9 wow time sure do go fast seem like yesterday she was my baby girl lol. I have two kids home sick and I hope I don't get it. I am making a turkey for dinner figure I had it in my freezer s why not make it. Great for left overs lol. Today I want to do some spring cleaning as the house is getting clutter again and it time to go thru each room and clean up. Also it be great exercise too.
I can't afford to go to the meetings or do online. So I come here for support and help with WW.As I am doing it on my own. I to been feeling lazy and no willpower this week.

I'm so glad that they got the two men who did the bombings in Boston Mass, Now Boston can heal and recover. Praying for these who was hurt and for those who died.

thats very true

i have WW generic on line food list for points ,I compared to new points plus
book I purchased . they are different .
if its not in my book I use the calculator on line for WW points . just data enter the fiber
carbs & fat & it gives you the points. i compare it to the book also . they are the same .

i havnt gave up nor will I /This is simplicity . I dont have to make it complicated .
so I am just trying to get some education . with out being a bother to every one.
49 points WOW !!!!!
I so like that . I have gone to bed being very hungry . I have done it right & no loss
to speak of.

With the new points plus program you get 49 extra weekly points. The minimum daily points is 26. The points value of many items have changed so you really can't mix the two.

Why are you staying away from the carbs in vegetables? They are healthy complex carbs. Are there any fruits that don't give you problems? Maybe something that doesn't have a lot of acid - perhaps pears or plums.

I stay away from most fruits . I have gerds . its brings up foam . but fruit is very high
in sugar.most vegetables is high in carbs . I do eat the green ones . I make stir fry
using green veggies only & peppers & onions .

If you need to add calories without adding points try eating more fruits and vegetables.
