Ok i have done them both. I am a big fan of winning points as you could bank points. But in reality its the same thing. Just do the winning points. I had more success with winningpoints then flex.

Red do you keep carrots, celery and cucumbers around for when you get the munchies?
Make sure your points are balanced, not to much carbs that includes fruits.
Get in your veggies and loads of water.
Move as much as you can.
Make sure you follow the 8 healthy guidelines, they are key to the plan.

Hi everyone! i am a weight watcher member and do the flex system...seems less like a diet and more like a way of life from now on. Soon as i accept that fully the more sure i am of success and keeping the pounds off. I have 30 lbs. to lose...not as much as some of you'all(I live in Texas) emoticon but as i will be 65 in October(yeah, an old bird) and on a drug called Lyrica, i find that 30 lbs. to be the same mountain everyone else has to climb. I have a problem eating out on the points too. i need a lot of support...i have not lost any weight i could keep off since before Christmas. Perhaps all of you can help me.

Thank you ladies for all your help.

This cleared a lot of for me. It looks pretty much the same.

And I did check out healthdiscovery.net and loved that site. They have a lot of great recipes to choose from.

Not to be a debbie downer, but weight watchers plan is copy righted. Several websites (one of my favs actually) have been shut down due to copyright infringement. I know when someone asks for information about the plan it's just second nature to give as much info as we can. If we choose to privaltly email this information, we do so at our own right. However, we simply cannot post that information on public forums and message boards

When I was going to meetings, we were doing the Winning Points and right before I stopped is when the Flex/Core programs came out. The main difference is that instead of a range, like 22-27 points, you're now givn a daily target and get 35 flex points to use anytime during the week. As it averages out to 5 additional points a day, the range would be the same. You also have to use your activity points (a max of 4 a day) on the day you earn them, wheras before there was no cap and you could save them AND points leftover from each day for later use; you just had to to use or lose them that same week. All that said, I would just do as you did before; you know that worked. My motto is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it:.

Just in case you don't have the current formula for determine your allowable points, here it is:

Eat all the foods you love on the Flex Plan.

- Enjoy the full range of food options, while making better choices with the POINTS system
- Choose any food as long as you control how much you eat
- Easily handle any food challenge, even when choices are limited.

What is your POINTS Target?
How may point Can you eat?

Answer the questions below and find out!

Are you:

Female?...............Score 2 Points

Male?...................Score 8 Points

Nursing Mom?.........Score 12 Points

How Old are you?

17-26.........Score 4 Points

27-37.........Score 3 Points

38-47.........Score 2 Points

48-58.........Score 1 Points

Over 58.........Score 0 Points

What is your weight?

Use the first 2 numbers ........195 would be 19

How Tall are you?

Under 5'1" .........Score 0 Points

5'1 to 5'10" .........Score 1 Point

Over 5' 10" .........Score 2 Points

How do you spend your day?

Sitting.........Score 0 Points

Mainly Standing .........Score 2 Points

Walking most of day .........Score 4 Points

Doing Physical Work.........Score 6 Points

Add your answers and find your Points Target!

Remember to....
Stick to your Points target. Your body needs this number of Points to keep your metabolism going, to carry out basic, bodily functions, and to lose weight at a safe and healthy rate..

Check the Points Target chart as you lose weight to see if your Points Target needs to be lowered.
FlexPoints
You'll begin each week with 35 FlexPoints. Use them any way you please. Don't use them at all, use some, divide them evenly over the week, or spend them all on a weekend splurge. Once the week is up, they're gone. Keep track of them.
The best way to figure how many points are in the food you are eating is to use your POINTSFinder. If you don't have it handy, you can use a calculator with the following formula. POINTS = [Calories/50] - [grams of fiber*/5] + [grams of fat/12] *note that the grams of fiber are capped at 4 grams per serving.

Flex Points
You are given 35 additional points to use weekly. They are to be used as you want. To splurge one day or to use evenly daily of just a couple here and few there.

If you go to the team board you will find plenty of info on the FLex & Core plans.

Good Luck.

Hi and welcome to the team. I just started with WW last Sat. and am trying the Flex Points. Not sure what the difference is with the one you were on before. I am sure that someone on this team can help you with you questions. Wishing you success with your weight loss goals.

I don't know the formula for winning points so I can't help you with the difference. The program today is a two way approach. Flex and Core.
Flex you get a certain amounts of points per day. You also get weekly flex points (separate from daily points and used at your discretion). The last set of points you get is daily activity points.
With the core program you eat until you are not hungry anymore. You don't have to measure your foods but it is advised. There is a list of foods you choose from and you also get the 35 weekly flex points.
If there is any way you can join I would advise it. You learn so much from the meeting and get great support.

I would not rejoin. I am not sure the difference as I have only done the flex point plan and core too of course. But my advise is to stick here at spark and use healthdiscovery.net which is dedicated to only ww and has a live chat that helps me a lot and then if you want books, which I usually have to have get them off e-bay. That is my take on it. I do have e-tools to count points and it cost me about $12/month and is nice to have but not necessary.

Good luck!

Never give up or look back,

Mickee

I have started to do my ww again after many years. I did it a few times in the 90's when they came out with the winning points system.

Here is my question. What is the difference with winning points and the new flex points that they now advertise?

We really do not have the money for me to join ww again right now and I am just wondering what is the difference. If any one can help me I would appreciate it.

Thank you.
