With two children involved in extra-curricular activities, I don't have the time to work out every day. I don't work on Wednesdays, so I make sure I get a long cardio work out then and once on the weekends. I teach so I am off for the summer. My favorite part of summer is dropping my children at cross country practice and hitting the gym for 2 hours, picking them up, making lunch, and going to the pool for swimming or with my son golfing. I just try to lose a little in the winter and little by little increase the weights on the strength training machines Funny, I usually lose more during the school year..Maybe because I am busy working, too..Not sure...
I am really bad about working out. I have been so unmotivated until this week when I finally started up again. But to answer your question, I think that if you are working out 3 days a week instead of 6, but twice as hard, then it would balance out and be the same. Try eating more on your workout days and less on your rest days if you aren't already.

How often are people working out here? I've been going 3 times a week, but I'm not seeing the results that I did when I was going 6 times a week. Admittedly my food intake is better this time around and my workouts I believe have been more intense...so is it intensity or frequency, or a combination of both?
