Dorothy~You knew it would be "for her" so at least that wasn't a surprise. Glad you had some time to yourself.

Mowing...we skipped it this weekend and now we're wishing we'd gone ahead with the task because it looks ratty! LOL Thankfully kids coming for the party won't care.

Maegann and I spent about 3 hours on the cupcakes. They turned out very cute though and definitely go with the "fun in the sun" theme. Kids will begin arriving about 10:30 tomorrow... As fun as this will be...ready to have it done.

Swim lessons start tomorrow for two weeks. Tim will come get Isaac and take him tomorrow and then when they are home he will stay and BBQ the meat for us. Thankful for that! Maegann will just start her lessons on Tuesday. Found out Isaac's friend from church will be in the same class with him so that will be extra fun for them both.

Janet that is crazy hot weather. We were in the 80's most of last week with threats of thunderstorms daily. But now it has dropped into the 70's still with threats of thunder storms daily. Been a crazyeweather pattern this year - from one extreme to another. I did hold my tounge yesterday - it was very hard but to say something negative or nasty would have just hurt people. The viewing and the memorial were mostly about my father and his live with his 2nd wife - it was if his children and grandchildren did not exist - it was all about her 2 children and 1 grandson. But it is what it is and if it gave her peace and closure - good for her. I actually took the rest of yesterday off and relaxed - and it felt good. I think I needed it! If it drys out I will try to get some mowing done. If it rains maybe I will get at some insdie projects crying out for attention.

Dorothy~Praying you can hold your tongue today! That's a good plan on the fuel sensor. LOL Today it is working fine. Just puts off the inevitable of putting another new one in place.

Got the rest of the items needed for Monday's party while out this morning so the counter and frig are loaded. We're still having triple digit heat and 107 is still predicted for Monday. Ugh. Tomorrow Maegann and I will bake the cupcakes and get them decorated. Going to make little suns wearing sunglasses and a smile. Should be cute.

Nothing else on the planned schedule for the weekend and I'm happy about that.

Janet - one of our vehicles the gas sensor did not work so I just filled it up every 200 miles - lol! Michael had a great time but was glad to get back to his electronics.

Tes - happy packing!

My fathers memorial is today - I hope I can keep my temper and keep my mouth shut - my step mother has not been answering any of my calls.

Tes~Good for you getting someone to watch the kiddos so you could get things done without interruptions.

Christina~No fair! Toby Mac! We love his stuff at our house.

Dorothy~Good news on the RA and “ugh!” on the pulled tooth. I was happy to see Maegann today too so I know what you’re feeling about having your guy home today as well.

Headed off on my 2 hour drive to church camp in the mountains to pick up Maegann and three other kiddos. It was a beautiful morning and still just near 70 so I had the windows open and enjoyed the cooler air. Got them packed in and back down the mountain we headed. They had an awesome week even with 2 days filled with major rain storms. The heat coming back...already near 90 and there is one section with quite an incline and had to turn off the air conditioner and open windows so the van wouldn't overheat. We were close! Got that under control and then the fuel sensor decided to go out again. Dinged at us for half the drive which was annoying. By the time I was home it had totally died so now the fun comes in knowing when the gas is gone. LOL The hubby was kind and took Isaac to his counseling so I could get out of the van. Been sparking while the boys are gone and now I think I'll head back for a quick nap. Driving made me tired.... LOL

I have been hiding behind the mountain of things on my to-do list...lots of errands run today to be ready for vacation and a few things packed towards being ready to go...more packing tomorrow and hopefully no more errands...don't have time to run them...the neighbor girls watched the boys for me today for 5 hours and will again tomorrow for 4 more...wow what a wonderful help it is...they also tire out the little guy so he comes home and crashes for 3+ hours...that was awesome...not sure how much I will get on here tomorrow...so if I don't check in you all have a great holiday next week...be back the Sunday after...see you in the July posts...

Dorothy~Hope the appointments go smoothly today.

I did enjoy bible study last night and it was nice not having any children in tow for a change. Will miss it the rest of the summer but need to use the time I took for Wednesday's lessons and work on the James study I began months ago and haven't done much with lately.

This morning is a quiet one at home so I thought I'd spark first and then tackle the recipes. I've got so many printed out that we use all the time and I have been meaning to get them in the binder so I don't lose them. Won't take long...just need to do it. Then I can work on unit studies. Isaac and I will meet Tim for lunch somewhere and then he has his group speech at 3:15. That's it for the day!

Daisy~Hooray for Auntie Flo. LOL Hope you don’t catch that cold that is going around.

Dorothy~Sorry the weather ended your game early. At least you got some golfing done though!

Tonya~We take D3 to avoid sunburn. I think that’s why I really didn’t think about putting sunscreen on my daughter a week ago. I had one of those awful mirror moments myself today when I was meeting with the occupational therapist. That’s just not me! I know it is…but I don’t see that person in my head. You can do it! Pick one thing and start there!

Quiet day here. Started off with a meeting at church regarding the contract for our homeschool co-op. Can almost check that task off the list for this year. Once home I spent time reorganizing my co-op manual now that I've been leading it for two years and finally know what categories I really need/use! Looks much better now with some old stuff out and ready for a new year. This afternoon I took Isaac to his occupational therapy session and we are done for at least 6 months! Nice! Just about time to work on supper and then I'm off to bible study this evening without kids in tow for a change. Last study for the summer.

Hey all!
I've been outta the loop, so I was doing a little catch up reading here.

Tess - glad you figured out the triggers again... I hope you have another migraine free day. I can only imagine how much energy that takes away from just by dealing the pain. Ugh.

Janet - glad you get an easier week from some of your duties.

Dorthy - Glad you got in some golfing. Prayers sent your way to help you through the loss of your dad.

Daisy - wow, 3- months! As you know from your first - he's going to start showing his lil personality now! Yeah! Fun times ahead! Enjoy them. What is this D3 you're taking? If it's Vitamin D3, I thought that was for the baby. I didn't know it would make you start up your cycles again - yuck! I was so lucky with both of mine, they didn't come back until I stopped nursing.

Anyone: Vit D for an adult (women mainly) - do you wear sun screen - I hear that Vit D deficiency is more common these days because more and more people are wearing sun screen on a daily basis now (mostly from make up i would assume). I wear sunscreen on my face only but my arms and legs are without and so exposed to the sun- so maybe that's why I'm not deficient. So that leads me to this... most women wear make up w/sunscreen in it, but you don't put make up on your arms/legs. Do most women wear sunscreen on a daily basis to help defy aging even on arms and legs - is that why Vit D deficiency is more common now?

Thanks to this team, I received a bullseye goodie with a note of "here's to reaching your goals this week." I want to say thank you!!! I've gained the weight back since my last weigh in and super bummed, irritated, confused and unsparked because I thought I was eating better and I started exercising again since my surgery 8 weeks ago. I saw myself in a pic and in a mirror and thought I looked bigger even... the scale confirmed my horror. I hate being this big. I love to work out. For some reason I allow things to get in my way. I even let my husband's business over ride my desire to work out (sometimes I'll run an errand on my way home for him/it). My problem is that I plan to do a certain activity and if I don't get to do it, then I don't allow myself the flexibility to do something else. OMG - light bulb moment! I JUST realized that while I write here... again thanks!

Ok... I think I have a new plan. I can plan a certain workout activity but if it is derailed, then I CAN and WILL do something else. Maybe now this will get me back on track.

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.

Tess - glad you are feeling bretter.

Daisy - hope the kids are feeling better - sleep through the bachlerotte party.

Janet - hope you wake up headache free.

We only got about half way through our game last night and severe thunderstorm warning went up so we scurried off of the golf course.

Hello all.
Good news!
I started taking D3 and Aunt Flo came 3 days later. Baby is 3 months old so it was time.
Both Kids have colds. Not sure how much less sleep I'll get tonight. Been used to getting 6 plus hours before this. Get to go overnight to a bachelorette party this weekend. I may sleep the whole time. Is that rude?

Tes~Hooray for no headache today! About time and you need the break from it!

Dorothy~Yep…the hubby arrived home about 1p.m. and he is just making too much noise for my “NO KID” afternoon. LOL Hope you can golf tonight.

Started the day at a field trip with Isaac (fish hatchery) and then he went with my friend and her boys for the day. I headed to the gym and the store. I had a headache brewing all morning and it finally kicked in while driving to the gym, but I went anyway. Finally broke down and took some headache tablets and it lessened a bit, but I can still feel it. Once done sparking I'll take a nap and see if that helps. I'm beginning to notice a trend... the hormone switch as TOM is finishing up. Going to start tracking that to make sure.

just checking in again today...no headaches today...someone else indicated that it may have been a hangover headache I was having...so I am not too worried about the extra mild headache that lingered...also have had a lot on my plate these days...most of those things are triggers, so I am sure the compilation of it all made for the long migraine...

Brightest Blessings!

Still struggling with that mild headache...but I hate to complain when it is so much better than the migraines I had...

Dorothy...sounds like you had a good time with the family

Janet - sounds like you have had a busy week, glad Meagan went with you and gained the experience of helping others

Now I have a busy week of getting us packed and ready for vacation, pluys getting the house cleaned up more for putting it on the market. Wish I still had the energy the prednisone was giving me...I feel like such a slug today.

Dorothy~Enjoy your quieter week! We enjoyed our dinner out last night with dad. Went to a Mexican place that is always yummy.

Got Maegann off for camp this morning minus a jacket. Oops! I did put a heavy sweater in her suitcase as she didn't own a sweatshirt, but missed the other...wasn't on the list they sent! I did phone the camp and make arrangements for her to buy a sweatshirt if she needs one. Hopefully they will get that message to her when she checks in this morning. At least I realized it before the camp became a total zoo with all the kids arriving!

Isaac is already holed away in his room. LOL I think we'll head to the library after lunch. Figure I'll treat him to lunch out today. Tomorrow he has a field trip and will be going to a friends for most of the afternoon. Was going to be my day home alone, but heard the hubby plans to do some barnyard work (building fences) so that changes it a lot. LOL I figure I'll go to the gym after I am done at the field trip.

This morning I got the co-op rosters typed up so now I just have to add names as they trickle in from new families. If I can get the class map done today I'm really ahead for September! The only other "big" task is getting the supply boxes built for the classes, but that will go fast with Maegann's help

Dorothy~Sounds like some fun times with your girls and the grandbabies! Enjoy your quiet home this week!

Went to church this morning (at our "old" church) and then had leftovers for lunch. We will head over in a couple of hours to get my dad and take him to for a belated Father's Day. Planning to call my brother before we leave for the restaurant so they can chat for a little while.

Tomorrow morning I take Maegann to meet a friend who is driving a carload up to church camp. I will go pick them up on Friday morning for my share of the task. It's a 2-hour drive. Will be fairly quiet with her gone all week so I'm hoping to make great progress with the fall homeschool plans for the kids. Unit studies are fun, but take some prep time!

My dads viewing was Thursday. On Friday since my girls and grandbabies were in town we went to the local swimming pool and the kids had so much fun. Yesterday was a company picnic and we had so much fun at the compnay picnic and in the water park. But everyone has gone home and it is nice and quiet. Micahel is at Boy Scout CAmp for the week. Hope everyone is doing well.

Started out volunteering at Bountiful Baskets and Maegann wanted to go with me for the first time. Didn't mind as we both got an extra item for working. I snagged another bundle of asparagus and she took another container of blueberries. Nice!

Afterwards we picked up a few items at the grocery store and then stopped at McD's for breakfast. Once home I got things put away, swept floors, started laundry and then tackled the finances. About 10:30 Maegann and I got out and mowed the lawn. Just finished as the boys returned from taking my dad out for coffee and a trip to Walmart. I never did get to the unit studies as hoped as the finances took longer than anticipated and had to run an errand for the hubby. A nice day though.

Isaac is still "not feeling well" but it appears to be fatigue more than illness. He is already saying he won't be going back next year.

Boys got back about noon from church camp. Isaac had fun, but his stomach doesn't feel good today. I think it is a combination of nervousness and MSG for the 2 1/2 days. Hopefully he'll feel better in the morning.

Migraine is better today...still mildly there...but certainly better...had a massage again today and it was wonderful...continued to alleviate the stiffness and tension in the neck and shoulder...so beginning to feel more like myself again...woo-hoo...

Brightest Blessings!

Tes~I can't imagine all that "boy stuff" with the migraine going on. Ugh! I have been using aloe vera gel since she came home with the sunburn. There are spots that appear to be lessening, but that poor back is still very tender.

We had a wonderful afternoon at our friends' place. Got home about 6 tonight and stopped at Subway once again (it's kept me from having to cook for two days). Seeing photos off and on from camp and it looks like Isaac is doing fine and Tim has learned how difficult it is to just let him "be him" with all his autistic quirks and just watch for the meltdowns. They head home around 10 in the morning. I know what he is saying! Maegann brought home a couple Barbie movies that her friend has loaned her so we're watching those as I spark.

JANET - have you had her take a bath with vinegar in it? or used aloe vera? both should help and the aloe will also keep her from scarring. Glad you had a peaceful day with Isaac. I would love to have one of those with my boys.

My day was horrendous with Michael (2) pulling Mark's (4) glasses off his face and throwing them across the room 3 times, and throwing Mark's plate of food all over the table and floor 2x. Mark wetting his pants through a pull-up right after I got them to my moms, 1 hour drive. Then Michael refusing to stay in his crib for his nap...so didn't take one...plus it takes an hour to get him to settle down for bed time at night as well...wish I could give him a sleeping pill.

I am glad that a lot of you are doing foster care and finding success with it. My parents did it about 30 years ago and social services lied to them about a child's mental health...they adopted him, my younger brother, and found out later through trials and tribulations that he had some major issues...FASD-Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder...was very difficult to deal with when you had expected him to be able to behave normally from the beginning.

Went to the docs and he did not have an explanation for me, but indicated that this 6 day prednisone regiment works about 70% of the time...so I am taking that and have 2 doses under my belt...today I have less of a migraine, but it is still there...but much less painful than it has been...I will take dose three in the morning, but if I don't get more relief by morning I am to call the doc and see about doing something else...I will keep you all posted.

Brightest Blessings!
Tes

Christina~Maybe something will strike you through this part of the study that you didn't expect. Hang in there! Those first of the summer burns are so common. I had forgotten before she left the house and figured there would be sunscreen everywhere at Carrie's with the pool. My mistake! Feel so bad for her. The back is the worst and the rest seems to be lessening a little. I'll have to get a photo.

Got the bathrooms and floors mopped this morning and then did a little co-op work. Heading to Subway to buy our lunch and then we'll get ready to head to our friends place for the afternoon. It's a 40 min. drive each way so feels like a field trip!

Sonya I am with a Christian based agency as well. Benchmark thereaputic foster care.
I don't know about the cold turkey on giving up sugar! I did give it up for a 40 day fast last year, but it was different than from a diet standpoint. I am really struggling with eating! We have junk food in the house, pizza, ice cream... I seem to have no self control. I don't even know how I got back to this unhealthy person. I look back to just 2 years ago and we were backpacking 40 miles in ga. Now I'm barely doing a mile a day. Now that my tendinitis is finally recovering I am starting to move more. I'm gonna turn this around!

Janet the first day I took the boys to the pool they didn't want to wear their swim shirts so we applied sun screen but they burnt anyway, now they worry less about looking cool and wear their swim shirts! You know I preach about sun exposiour because of the melanoma.

Dorthy I'm thinking of you and you family.

Tes how did the dr appt go?

I'm sitting on the deck getting ready to work on my Daniel bible study. We are starting on the second half of the book where it focuses on eschatology. I'm not really focused on this topic so I'm struggling a little.

Dorothy~The day went fine with Isaac yesterday. He just stayed in his room or played outside the whole time other than when we went to lunch. I think you needed the golf outing too. Thinking of you as you attend the viewing tomorrow.

Tes~Any word from the neurologist?

Christina~I’ll bet the difference in ours is yours is an “I” and mine is an Android OR I need to get an updated app. Hmmmm Might have to look! Glad you met the new director and it solidified your decision prior to not go for that job.

Sonya~Glad you were able to switch agencies. I am horrible at the “cold turkey” thing too with the food piece. I wish I had answers for both of us.

Today was quiet as the boys were gone after breakfast for Isaac’s 2-day church camp. Maegann’s not doing much as she’s a crispy critter from the shoulder blades up after a swim party yesterday. No sunscreen! Ugh! Did get a few things done away from home and went to bible study tonight. Also got another 30 minutes in on the Wii Fit since I couldn’t go to the gym.

Tes - Hope they can find an answer for your pain!

The phone app is also available for Samsung Galaxy. It used to be free but I think they charge 3 or $4 now.

We are still approved to foster but haven't had any kids since they moved our little ones. We changed over to a Christian foster care agency but the process took a long time. Hope to have a brother for Grace!

Why do I have such discipline in other areas but none when it comes to food - especially sugar. I have friends that swear you have to quit sugar cold turkey and eliminate it altogether if you have a huge struggle with it like I do. Any opinions or research you know of in this area ladies?

Hi Moms!
On My I Phone app it has 5 options on the bottom. Food, Fitness, Points and More, under points is where I found the spin the wheele.I might have paid a few dollars for this app. I don't remember. I use it a lot because our house is not wireless and I ususally have a boy on the lap top doing school work most of the time. Part of the negative of living in the rural area it is hard to get internet.

Tes I hope you get answers from the dr. I am stuggling with a headache today to but I know it is hormaonal. I get one almost every month they last 3 days.

Belinda I loved hearing about your kids! My youngest tells everyone he loves his daddy first and momma 2nd. Gary spoils him terrible!

I met with the new director of the mission today. I really like her! I will enjoy working with her. It is funny how our lives have paralelled and we have so much in comon. I am really glad Gary had the wisdom for me not to apply for the job, she was meant for it, and I know I am on the right path of opening our home back to foster children. We went to another class last night. it will take us several months to get in enough hours to open our home back up.

Belinda - loved your story. It does make sense though - Ava is ready to g home when she sees you and it probably makes the day longer for her when you leave again. They both sound like sweethearts.

Janet - how did your day with issaac go. I hope it was a good one and that Megean enjoyed her party.

Tess - hugs - hope you are feeling better.

I am off for the next three days. i am taking my sister shopping today for some clothes. My dads viewing is tomorrow and his memorial is the 29th. I did go golfong last night and so enjoyed the time with my frined - i think I really needed it!

Thanks for sharing the story! I can only do food/fitness/weight from my phone. I checked this morning.

Got the Wii Fit going again today after a long break. Just heard the hubby is picking Maegann up an hour earlier than planned so she'll be home in about an hour. Leadership meeting tonight.

Gooooood Morning Spark FriENds!

Ok... I know it's not morning, but it's a humorous kinda day for me - u know - Robin Williams.

I hear ya on the red dye 40... it's a doozie for a lot of kiddos! It's so hard to find foods w/o it. Thankfully, I only had to give the liquid vitamin D while they were infants... As soon as they could drink whole milk, I was able to quit giving it to them.

So both my kids are quite attached to me, and my son is more so than the little miss. (Ha!) That said I don't have lunch with them or see them during the day if I go back to work afterward b/c it makes it hard on me, them, and grandparents (both sets watch them twice a week and the 5th day they go to daycare). But since it's been a long while since I tested this, I decided to ask them yesterday on our way home... Jacob, the 7 y/o, says he would like it but he'd be nervous when I had to go. I asked him what he would be nervous about, and he said b/c he wouldn't know if I was ok or not (AWE! he such a sweet heart). I told him that he was such sweet boy. Then he said never mind, he doesn't have to be nervous, I would really like to have lunch w/you... (another AWE heart moment!). Directly after he says that, Ava (the 5 y/o) says no. That's all she says. What a hoot... but I understand - she wants her day to end and just would want to go home. So I had to say ok I wouldn't have lunch w/them. I'm thinking that I should still have lunch w/Jacob though. ... and I bet Ava would want to join us in the end.

So even though I'm not sure why I wanted to share that moment w/y'all, I did, and now you know a little about my lil' family.

I'm not going to hold my breath on getting to use SP in it's entirety from my phone. Plus, it's really much easier to type on a computer. ;-)

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.
Belinda

Sitting at therapy. Isaac has a less than stellar attitude happening today so not sure how the day will go as it is just the two of us today. Dropping Maegann off for the party around 11.

Dorothy~Hugs & Prayers!

Heather~You did help make the next day shorter if you made it to Laramie! Long day on that flat, straight desert highway! Hope your appointment tomorrow goes smoothly!

Belinda~I just wish they could make vitamins for kids without red dye 40! That natural ones look nasty and appearance is so much at this age. LOL I will have to check on trophies on my phone app but I don’t remember seeing the wheel either.

GREAT day at co-op registration. We did lose a handful of families but none were a huge surprise because of how they ended the previous year. Should have room to let some other new families join! Brought home a friend with Maegann for the afternoon so that freed me up to get through all the sign-ups and figure out exactly where the classes stand and make a couple phone calls to get classes from families I knew couldn’t make the event. Glad it is over and now I have the summer to start getting everything done for September.

Jenn is coming over tonight to help Tim with his business books so chose to just bbq chicken and make some Jasmine rice for supper. Nice and simple!

Hi all!

Dorothy - sorry to hear about your dad too. He is at peace now and no longer in pain. Sending you a hug and a prayer for you and your family.

Daisy - Neither of my kids liked the brown vitamins. I don't understand why they can't make taste better and not stain anything it touches.

It would be awesome to meet everyone! I'm glad for those of you that have gotten to meet each other.

As for the phone app - I don't see where y'all are talking about. I have an iphone as well. I went to more, and all I have there are water, reports, fitness quick tracker, and settings. I don't see a place to view trophies either. :-(

Hi all, we are so tired of driving. Drove a little farther yesterday to Laramie, WY hoping that it will help shorten today. Not such a fun Father's Day for Matt.

So enjoyed visiting with Janet and family. Loved also how the kids got along. We seem to be constantly late and behind schedule. Looking forward to being in the same place for a week and a half.

Doro - So sorry about your dad. emoticon . Looking forward to meeting you and giving you a real hug. I thinks we will be in Kane from the 2-10th of July.

Tes, my sister gets migraines like that, no fun.

Hi to everyone else, need to start packing up and hit the road.

Dorothy~I think you made the right choice to be with your hubby celebrating Father's Day because of what he's accomplishing for himself and your family. I can imagine the difficulty of that decision right now though.

The time with Heather and her family was way too short. They ended up arriving about two hours later than planned just because they got a later start and didn't arrive at the house until around 9pm. Just a beautiful family which did not surprise me at all. Maegann and Gretchen wandered around the pasture most of the time talking about anything and everything. Isaac and Joe were off and running in no time. Those four ended the night playing a wild game of tag. Poor Nick had now gotten Joe's cold so he wasn't feeling very well. We spent about an hour on the back patio talking before they needed to head back to the hotel. I think it is so sweet that Matt was so willing to let her meet up with several SP friends along their journey in the states. They were heading to Rawlins, WY today. I also posted a photo in our team photo album.

This morning we headed to College Church (the one VBS was at) as Isaac wanted to participate in the VBS program and for some reason had gone all "anti-Karcher" on us this week. Maegann enjoyed the Sunday School better this time (her second visit) and Isaac did as well (his first time) so we plan to keep it in the rotation of churches. This summer we plan to rotate all 3 each week so next week will be First Church (our "old" one) and since our current one has gone to a combined the adult Sunday School for the summer and Isaac isn't as insistent about going anywhere else we can begin going as a family now. One prayer answered! Anyway.... they gave the entire worship hour to VBS which was fun and different. Tim commented that he's been there twice and still hasn't heard the preacher speak. LOL

Tonight we are taking Tim out for supper at Shari's. I tried to get the kids to let us go to his favorite place (Mongolian BBQ) but they weren't having anything to do with that. LOL At least at Shari's he can get a salad and not get sick.

Tomorrow is the big day.... co-op registration for current and a handful of new members! I plan to get there about 10:15 for setup with the actual event beginning at 11. Supposed to be 95 so I'm glad we're starting that early. Nice not feeling like there is anything to do today in preparation. Tuesday night the leadership team meets and we can get the calendar set and a few other things.

Still have the migraine and TMJ issue today...taking my meds and hoping that it will be enough to get me through my busy day of cleaning...

Dorothy...so sorry about your dad...I lost my father 1 1/2 years ago now. He died suddenly of a heart attack. Not sure which is the better way to have a loved one go, but neither is without pain for those left behind.

Janet - it should be fun for you to meet Heather...enjoy.

well...I best get at all my projects...have a great weekend all.

Brightest Blessings!

Tes - glad you found some relief! I am sure you can drop the kids off for VBS,

Sonya - I hope you enjoy the party - just remember - God grant me the serenity to accept the things i can not change! It is hard to do!

Kelly - you are right - there are so many young kids with no manners now days - if we would have acted that way we would have gotten a swift slap on the butt!

Janet - lucky you to get to meet with Heather but my turn is coming!

Belinda - i use Safari to access Spark People on my phone. The app they have is strictly to log food and exercise!

Got news yesterday that my dad took a turn for the worse and they are I believe taking him off all IV;s and just making him comfortable with morphine. But he will be comfortable and es is at peace with going. But today i am celebrating life with my grand daughters birthday and my daughters birthday!

Thank you all for your ideas...did go see the doc as it is not normal symptoms for me...he ruled out any other issues...I do have TMJ and neck issues aside from the migraines, just never had them all at once...took a muscle relaxer and the doc gave me a shot of Torodal...now I can only feel a little of the migraine, much more manageable. He also gave me a refill on my imitrex.

I also made a pitstop at the OBGYN...my hormone pills don't seem to be as effective as they were the first few months...so now I will be on them continuously with no week off (no cycle). See if that works better.

I noticed that the neighborhood church is having VBS...wondering if I can drop the boys off there for the week...I think it is next week. Will have to call and find out.

Brightest Blessings!

Heather’s coming to Boise!!! We are trying to coordinate a way to meet up in the evening on Saturday.

Tes~Hugs on the migraine.

Dorothy~Sounds like a busy time with those birthdays!

Sonya~Well, you tried. Drats!

Kelly~VBS is rugged when you are a volunteer. I enjoyed it much better this way…just dropping them off!

Belinda~I have the tracking app but rarely use it unless I’m traveling. Didn’t realize they were putting a fee on the app now. Too bad.

Enjoying my final morning home in the peace and quiet. Tim will be home the rest of the day so even my usual routine will be broken. Funny how they really can change how things play out. LOL A friend is coming home with Maegann for a few hours too. Isaac’s counseling is at 3.

Good morning everyone - ok, almost afternoon. TGIF!

Daisy ~ Do you breastfeed? Usually babies are deficient in Vit D3 when they are breastfeed. It is important to give your kiddo.

What a sweet story you told about gpa...

Tes ~ it could also be acid reflux in combination w/your migraine. I've had those symptoms w/my acid reflux a few times.

Does anyone have SP on your mobile or do you get on here via computer? I ask because I have it on my phone and can track food, exercise, and water, but I can not log in to spin. Not that I need to spin, but I'm not recognized as logging in if I don't... I want to be more consistent on here.

I'm not sure how this happened other than SP just had a limited time only, but my SP phone app was free when I downloaded it. Now, you have to pay for it. I won't pay for it - I will just do it on the computer if I must... but anyway, I wonder if that is why I don't have access to the spin thing on my phone.

If I don't talk to you later, I wish you each a great Father's Day weekend with your families!

Pray. Hope. Don't worry.
Belinda

oh Tes re migraine neck/jaw pain.....just a thought, have you ruled out cardiac? anxiety? a lot of female MI pts presented with 'jaw pain' some men too, but seems more common in females, not trying to scare ya, just would feel awful if I didn't mention it.

I'm here! VBS week wore me out. I stayed each night (helped out some, kept MY kids in order etc) every year I'm amazed how our 'younguns' seem to get more disrespectful. I'm glad they have fun but this year I'd hear leaders directly telling a child to do something and the kid acted like they didn't even hear, or just stand there with the 'just try to make me' look. So sad for society!
Took a day trip to Chocolate world and Chuck E cheese yesterday (needed inside activities/weather) Liv is still terrified of the friendly mouse UGH! I was appalled at the unfriendliness of workers, people in general and the ladies handing out samples at Sams. One was just plain mean! I usually think its my lot in life to smile and try to make their misery a little less but it almost makes it worse. odd.
Christina ((hugs)) so cute you try to 'save face' for gpa! I remember giving my Gma a popsicle wrapped with a napkin around the stick just like she did for me when I was little and I cried as I handed it to her.
I'm late (as usual) for setting up the yardsale. later, have a great Spark Day! Its Friday!!

Tes - Sorry you are hurting. I have migraines that are stress induced (runs in the family) I think I would have to hire a babysitter and go to a dark quiet place!

Doro - I tried that and 2 people reminded me that it wouldn't be much of a shower if the mother to be doesn't show up and she has stated that she isn't going anywhere but her dads that day. I changed it to Monday night - which I hate because no one will stay long, but I really think it is time for me to stop trying so hard to please my adult kids! From now on their broke friends can throw the showers etc.

Christina - it was a cute story about gpa and he is blessed to have a wonderful grand daughter like you. It is so hard to see them get old. I think they are moving him on Monday as the weekend is almost here. I will be glad when it is done and the he handles the move ok.

Janet - enjoy your last quiet morning.

Daisy - sorry - I have no input on that vitamin but I do agree - 12 hours of sleep is amazing!

Tess - have fun getting the cake.

Sonya - I think you need to tell them that it is already planned.

1/2 day Friday for me - need to get some shopping done as tomorrow is 2 birhtday parites and I am in charge of the food for one!

Tes~I think you are right…. Tropical Storm is much more fitting. LOL Your moms house sounds beautiful. I’ll have to see if I can find it from your link. Did you get Thing 2’s cake chosen?

Dorothy~Hugs! I’m glad you were able to help both your stepmom and dad with such a difficult transition. Sounds like they are both relieved.

Sonya~I would be irritated as well. I think I would just tell her what was happening and that you need her to be there.

Daisy~Vitamin D3 is very important for many things. We take it every day. Love the side benefit of less sunburns (rarely get them and if we do they are gone overnight) and no mosquito bites (except for Isaac…he still seems to get them).

Had a fairly quiet day here. Finally sparking tonight while we all watch the movie about the rescue of Gilligan’s Island. Pretty hokey, but kids are enjoying it since we’ve watched all the reruns. Only one more morning with the kids at VBS. I have an eye appointment before they go and then once I drop them off I’m heading to the gym again.

Dorothy I am praying for your family! That is such a HARD place to be in! I came in a few mins after 9 toninght. As I drove past the barn I noticed my gpa was out.( my gma goes to bed about 8) I turned around and went back to check on him and he thought it was morning and he was trying to put fuel in the tractor. He was embarrassed when I told him it ws bed time. I helped him put everything away and close up the barn and garage, then told him if he went in the house real quiet and locked the doors gma would never know he was out! He thought that was funny. It reminded me of when I was little and he would buy me chocolas and tell me gma didn't need to know we stopped off at his buddys for a "drink" LOL! It is heart breaking to watch the body and mind fail!!!

Sonya UGH the frustration! I hope you get another date worked out, Is meagan the one having the baby? sorry i get confused with the names.

Daisy 12 Hours is a long time for baby to sleep! My Ben never slept more than 6 and that was a good night. He is 6 now and sometimes will get in 8 hours now. It is almost 11 here now and he just fell asleep. (thats with melatonin) He will be up around 7-8 am and go non stop til this time tomorrow.

Heather I hope all is well, everyone is rested and ready to start your adventure in the USA!

Kelly where are you?!?

I am ready for bed! This football practice schedule has worn me out! Matthew and Johnny are really having fun so it is worth it!

Hello, I just caught up from June 6th. Won't try to get that behind again.
Lately thoughts....I think having a baby at 39 is crazy.
Her sleeping 12 hours last night though wasn't so bad.
Hair hasn't been growing-shortage in Vit D3 huh? Been thinking it was weird.
Would love more feedback on the Vit D3 thing...

Soooo irritated. I am going to type and vent rather than EAT. I have been planning a surprise baby shower for my daughter who is flying in from DC this week. Everyone agreed on the only day and time we thought would work. Fathers day from 1:30 to 3:30 then everyone can go spend the rest of the day with their dads. Meagan has told everyone (yesterday) that she is spending the entire day at her dads. The next weekend she is in a wedding. I am NOT going to have a baby shower on a week night and be just an after thought on someones agenda. I spent so much time and money planning everything. Here it is Thursday and we have to figure out another time and date. I already ordered a cake too. Cake person just messaged me that the cake pops and cupcakes are almost done! Grrrrrrrr.........

Hope you all have a great day...have to take Thing 2 (Michael) to the store to pick out a birthday cake...he will be 2...having a little family party on Sunday, actual birthday is Saturday. Supposed to be nice and not much rain now for over a week...FINALLY!

Wow - what a busy place this has been! Good to see everyone here - new and old!

Belinda - It is a wonderful group of ladies here. I too am a full time working mom and so happy that son does not need day care any more!

Tes - your moms house sounds beautiful! Wonderful of you to help her out!

Sonya - I think it is a splendid idea to call out each other. I do agree - processed foods are bad!

Christina - Praise the Lord - but please do not over do!

Janet - I hope Isaac has a better day today - sorry!

I had a heart wrenching talk with my step mother yesterday and convinced to bring my dad back here to the nursing home where he will be happy - its where he wants to go - he is fingting everyone and so mean to my step mom - she took the first step - Praise the Lord - to bring him back. I guess she just did not understand that she had that option. And it gave my dad such peace that she finally got it! So please send out the prayers for her and my Dad!

Janet - Sounds like Isaac is more of a "tropical storm"...LOL

Thank you for the welcome, again.

Had a good time at moms, and helped her see how to showcase her home as she is selling her house as well. She has a 1905 Victorian with mission style woodwork (8" wide moulding). Solid oak wood throughout, 10 foot ceilings, 9 foot doorways, 5 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, 3 baths, a third floor that had been the servants quarters, full basement, 2 fireplaces with one in the master bedroom.

My father renovated most of the house before he died about 1 1/2 years ago, but it is much too big for mom and she finally felt like it was time to get rid of it. Though they had collected a lot of antique furniture and knickknacks...so I had to help her see how to thin down...she was just too overwhelmed to figure it out. We actually managed to get a couple rooms completely done, so she just has to pack up a few things that didn't make the cut, or decide to put them on the garage sale.

There are lots of pictures online here is the MLS# 4362753, with Edina Realty, MN, if any are interested in seeing it.

Brightest Blessings!

Sonya~Sounds like reality has sent you into motion! Whatever it takes! I'll try to do better "calling you out" at SP and FB for sure, but I did tag your other info in my SP address book so you never know...things might show up in other ways.

Having a rough afternoon with Isaac. He totally made a behavior choice at therapy that was very disappointing. Just completely rude and disrespectful to the therapist. I'm going to speak with his counselor on Friday and see if he thinks it is just this particular gal as this isn't the first time, or if he's just tired of that particular type of session. He was happy again once we left and then he got mad at me because I required him to do his outside chores. Hmmm...that's nothing new. LOL

Won't have to go as early tonight as Maegann is staying home from not feeling well. I think she got Isaac's cold. Now "tornado Isaac" is telling his dad that he refuses to go to kids stuff at our church anymore. We never MADE him go anyway. Honestly, I'd love for him to quit going. Yep...I'm still working on forgiving the children's director. Must give it to God.....

It is SO hard to get back into good habits when you have allowed things to crowd into your life and push yourself to last place! My love language is acts of service so I tend to over commit and have no time for me - no time to exercise, no time to PREPARE a healthy meal instead of jusr grabbing whatever is fast, no time to slow down and THINK about what I am doing or not doing to or for my body!

Went to the doctor today to fulfill the yearly insurance pledge - hey it's a free physical so...... David did his last week and told them to give me his results today. The report is not encouraging, he is at his heaviest weight EVER, his cholesterol is 219 the LDL is 128 and BMI is at 35%. I know if his report reads this way, mine will be bleak as well. I mulled this over for about an hour then went home and created a super low fat lunch for Zoe and I.

I just logged what I made and it is a great balance of nutrients and I feel full. It took me less than 15 minutes to prepare so why do I keep falling off the weight loss wagon? HABIT

I need to make a HABIT of checking in with you guys everyday. I need to make a HABIT of venting on here before I put something I shouldn't eat into my mouth. I need to make a HABIT of just not buying processed foods. How many days does it take to form a HABIT? 30 I think is the general concensus.

Will you guys do me a favor? CALL ME OUT (in a good way) post on my Spark page or Facebook (Sonya Sherman), email me at sonyasherman5@gmail.com, text me 615-957-3090. I think I really need the support of such awesome ladies to just keep my goals in the forefront of my mind rather than letting them be pushed to the back burner!!! Anyone else want a "reminder partner" - remember my love language is acts of service and this is one I'd be happy to provide!

Christina~That is awesome about your tendonitis! God was blessing you that day at the pediatrician visit!

Tes~Enjoy your time at your moms.

Belinda~A co-op mom is someone that belongs to the homeschool co-op. I direct it and registration is on Monday. She’s needing to get things to me early as they are heading to girls camp that day. Keep on reading to him until he takes over. My son is now almost 9 and just this past winter he started reading for himself.

Heather~Praying the night you’re here I am available or can reschedule things! Nice that they got you the IPad. They are right… 2 lb. is close enough!

Enjoying my quiet morning while kids are at VBS. I headed to the gym after dropping them off and go through my stack of "to do" things before breaking to Spark for a few minutes.

Hi Tes, Hi Belinda, welcome to chat! I'm Heather, 46' and mom to three 15(as of yesterday), 13, and 8. We have just arrived back in the US for our year of furlough.

Christina, so glad you've found something that will help your tendonitis. If that is better then I'm sure the fitness motivation will be great.

Janet, kudos to Maegann! We just changed our planned travel route and will be stopping in Boise our first night. I will message you.

Doro, hope your trip went well. Sorry about no golf, I know you enjoy it.

Have to open and reorganize suitcases for our trip. We have no idea where anything is. Laundry and the dog to a self service wash salon today. Doing okay so far with the abundance of exciting food choices. Dinner at Olive Garden for Nick's bday yesterday, but I went prepared and brought home 1/2 for today.
Matt and my dad bought me an IPad, even though I was short on my goal by 2 pounds. I will get there though. I'm having fun getting used to it. This is my first electronic toy. Usually dh has them.

Wow! Y'all are so welcoming. Thanks, much appreciated!

Chris - you are an amazing woman to have 7 boys! So glad your ankle is not hurting so much - but remember to not over do it. I wonder if that stuff works on tendonitis of the elbow?

Janet - what is a co-op mom?

I'm an outta the home working mom. Jason, hubby, recently started his own mechanic biz from our house. So now that school is out, he'll have the kids on days that grandparents can't keep them until school starts up again... Then they will ride the bus home and not have daycare anymore.

Of course this now means we'll have to schedule play dates again like when we lived in Austin. I think that will help me build some adult friendships too. I've lived there for 2 years now and where I know people, I haven't made any real connections. But I would NOT trade living out in BFE because of it. I love living out in the boonies.

This summer, I hope to get my son (Jacob) to LIKE reading. Right now, he still prefers us to read to him. Of course I love reading to him and that time we have together, but I also want him to like the activity instead of always playing on his DSi... he does love his LEGOs tho... he can play w/those for hours too. He's such blessing - not a troublesome bone in his body!

My daughter - the 5 year old - she's our princess that loves nature and beauty. She's totally awesome. She will never be an indorsey person. If she doesn't get outside time, watch out - she'll be a bear. LOL!

That is awesome that Meaghan is making progress. I remember when my daughter would not grow up in certain areas, of course she still has many of those areas to grow up in, so it is still frustrating...and she has a child to worry about now.

I am taking a trip to the farm today with a load of stuff and then on to my mom's with a few things for her garage sale...have a great day everyone.

Brightest Blessings!
Tes

Good Morning!

I am shouting praises this morning!!! Remember last week when I took Ben to pediatricain, Dr Rob? He recomended several things for my foot pain... well yesterday it came. I used it 2x and I woke this morning and have full motion with NO pain!! I have been suffering with tendonitis in this foot for about 18 months. Dr Rob told me 3x a day for 3 days then 2x for 3days then 1x for 3 days. It stinks terrible, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but it is SO worth it!! The gel is called DMSO I bought it off amazon, but it is also sold in health food stores.

Dorothy how is your dad?

I'm putting on my walking shoes and going to enjoy walking the dog this morning!

Made it safely to Pittsburgh and my older brother is here as well as our Aunt so nice catching up with people. I am going to be taking my Aunt home today as she only lies about 30 minutes from me.

Tess - hope you can get it all figured out.

Belinda - welcome to our group. I was a very young mother once - had my oldest daughter at 18 and my son at the age of 41 - I love being a mom and I have 4 daughters from my first marriage and a son from my currant marriage so I have dughters, son-in laws - and grandbabies! And am still raising my son!

Christina - I do not think it would be weird at all - if you have to do what is right for each child - heavens we know thay are all so defferant.

Janet - glad your schedule is a little less hectic - enjoy! Glad that the counseler is helping Meagaan figure it all out!

Last weeks defeat is a gateway to many victories.

Lord - grant me the Serinity to accept the things I can not change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the differance.

Tes~I have one word for you .... PROGESTERONE! That has been a saving grace for me with the perimenopause stuff. I tried so many "chemical" things and none of them worked long.

Belinda~Glad to see you at chat! You definitely belong here! I am 51 and have two kiddos... 11 and 8.

Dorothy~Was so glad to see you were heading to visit your dad.

Maegann heard from her counselor today and she gave her props for what she did yesterday and reaffirmed how she has more control than she thinks when she doesn't give over to the fear. It's a huge start!

Had a good day today as well. Got lots of little things off my list today. Had a 90 min. massage tonight and I believe I'm right about my knee...it was the muscles being too tight at this point. Feels better and I'll just have to keep stretching and massaging them.

Tomorrow I have to meet a co-op mom after I drop the kids off for VBS and then I'll head to the gym. Only have one therapy tomorrow which is going to be so nice as Wednesday's are usually insane. Maegann has a mission meeting at 6 and my bible study is at 7.

Belinda WELCOME!!! Our chat is definately open. I have 7 boys from 26-6 and 2 DILs.

Heather I hope Joseph is feeleing better and your all resting up!

Janet Yea for Maegann! I really need to take some time to ask some of my local home school friends about how they do things here. I am actually enjoying that time with Matthew this summer. Gary and I are on the fence about it. Would it be weird to only homeschool one of my kids?

I am so tired, I'll catch up better in the morning. The boys have wore me out today!
