Heather~Sounds like a good day!

Daisy~Congratulations on the new arrival that is coming soon!

Events of the evening went fine. I didn't get what I ordered at the restaurant and our waiter was very inattentive and hard to find so I just accepted it, ate half of the main item and picked at the rice and beans. At least I didn't eat so much that way! LOL Once home I got the Solar System stuff printed out and ready to go so that's a huge relief.

Tomorrow... possibly the gym in the morning, school with the kids, take Maegann to a playdate and then work on dinner and make some phone calls on sensory equipment I need to get ordered for Isaac.

Let's see, I had my first baby at 36 and she's now 3. My second she will be here in 19 days by c-section. At least they will be both be born by 40.
My other life I was a Kindergarten Teacher which I'm taking a hiatus from until both the kids are both in school. I'm blessed to be able to stay home with my hubby working two jobs to make it so. We met in Nov. 06, engaged in Jan 07, and married in Feb. 14th of 07. Whirlwind and wonderful although my parents were dubious, we've just celebrated 6 years.....

Hi Ladies,

Welcome Daisy Chick, I'm Heather, 46, with three kids 14, 13, and 8.

emoticon Lisa

Janet - another busy day it sounds like, of course that is your normal. It's good that Maegann has the opportunity to work through some of this with the counselor. Sorry that the fall out is getting you. Happy Birthday Greetings to Tim. Enjoy dinner.

Christina - emoticon that Matthew had a good day and got recognition for it not just from you. Hopefully that positive reinforcement felt good enough to motivate for more good days. I always know when dh is super stressed because he totally goes into organization mode and the clutter drives him nuts (and me as a result)

Doro - Is the emoticon for your dad at your house? Do you have any help with planning or is it all on you?

The two older kids were home today because of teacher strikes. Nick went Geocacheing with Matt and Gretti went to a movie with a friend after we wii Zumba'd together. I got a lot of cleaning and laundry done. All around good day.

Christina~Hooray for a good day for Matthew!!!! Just makes you smile after so many struggles! We decluttered so much but I'm still feeling like more could be done. LOL

Dorothy~Sounds like your day off is going to be busy!

Lisa~Hi!

I did make it to the gym this morning. I am just going to have to get back to "make myself get up" mode I think as I've totally gotten off sync since before our trip to CO earlier this month. Felt much better once done.

Working through school this morning. Maegann's a mess emotionally and I think it is all this stuff she had to discuss with the counselor yesterday and she was working through her "cast of characters" which brought up emotions because there were 7 bullies/mean kids at church. Her class only has about 10 kids in it so that's a horrible ratio! She was also sad as one of the boys is mean to her about me because I'm overweight. I told her it was wrong to tease her about that, but the truth is that I am overweight. I told her next time just to say "She's working on changing that." and not let it hurt her. I think it offered extra motivation for me to really dig in and get this changed though. I don't want this to be a trend!

Have Isaac's group therapy this afternoon and Maegann's bi-weekly bible study. I'll be hanging out at therapy and Tim plans to come home in time to take Maegann to her study and then pick her up. Much better than me crossing town 3 times within an hour! We'll see how it goes.

Tonight we are taking Tim out for his birthday. Kids want to go to Jalapenos and asked me to get him an ITunes card for his gift. Will be a fun evening.

Hi Daisy! I am 44 with 7 boys from 26-6 and 2 BEAUTIFUL DILs. Welcome!

Matthew had a good day yesterday! I will celebrate everyone! I made him chocolate coverd strawberries to celebrate. One of the teachers assts that refused to work with him at Christmas time gave him a great compliment and said he was trying really hard this week!

I am on a roll, I am feeling the need to clean! I am trowing things away like crazy! I think it must be the lack of control in other areas. The clutter is driving me nuts.

I have some free time today, I know its the small things, but I am so HAPPY. I plan to read and do some tae chi.

Janine~Glad you got the resignation in place, but sorry you had to take some grief from the manager. It definitely sounds like you have a talent beyond DQ with the cakes. Hugs!

Dorothy~I can imagine Michael getting bored after an hour with nothing to entertain him. We're counting on the hubbies Ipad each Wednesday for the kids while waiting their turns at therapy.

Christina~Hope you can get a handle on that late-night snacking. It's tough! I found a bowl of cereal has been helpful once in awhile.

Slept in this morning as I couldn't get to sleep easily last night for whatever reason. Figured with my full day it would be wiser to rest instead of going to the gym and wishing I had time for a nap later. So what happens? Isaac's therapy is cancelled so we will have about an hour at home in between Maegann's and piano.

School is going well this morning and we even had time to get our Iditarod stuff ready. Kids love following the mushers along the trail.

Christina - sounds like that is the time of day when you finally let your gaurd dfown and take a breather. I am sure you will figure out something. Micahel seems to be doing great and I think that is in a place wehre neither of us have to worr about him. I took him for the visit on Sunday and he was bored out of his mind. It is amazing to me that aftervisiting for an hour he was ready to head home. We had to leave our cell phones in the car so he had nothing to monkey around with - lol!

Jeannine - it does sound like you are too good for that place and I am sure everything will fall into place.

Kelly - hubby has 4 to 4 clunkers at any given time - makes me crazy. I always drove a clunker until the last 10 years when I finally decided I needed something I couyld depend on with all of the driving I do. Being broke down on a 4 lane one time was enough for me!! Glad you survived swimming. Amazes me how some adults do more harm than good with our children - such as Chazs teacher, Megeanns sunday school teacher and former grandma. Guess we can trust no one when it comes to our children.

Janet - I know what yiou mean - I would rather get all of my running around all on one day rather than spread all out. I run Monday - Thursday and Sturday morning with Micahel and it does take a toll. I think the worst is Monday because boy scouts does not get out until after 8 and I am wiped out by that time of the night.

Lisa - way to go with the streak and with the tracking.

Spend the day in Erie yeserday - Dr appt and got some shopping done. Got some really good buys - now just to find time to put them to use - lol!

Last weeks defeat is a gateway to many victories.

Hi Moms!
I just have a min...
I did get to read and catch up a bit. I dislike being out of the loop. I am trying to slow down my schedule.
Dorothy how is michael dealing with all this? I can't imagine how hard it is!

Kelly we too have many junkers! It drives me NUTS! Gary is driving and old camry right now that he rebuilt the engine on and it has no powersteering... the driver door is smashed in It embarrases the boys. We also have an old farm truck and several others. They would never let us live in a subdivision!

I am getting in some exercise, but still end up eating every night. Everyday I think this is the day, but then I cave around 8-9pm. Instanity!

I just wanted to thank everyone for the words of encouragement. I put in my two weeks notice at Dairy Queen last Saturday and straight to the boss. Didn't go through my manager. He wasn't really happy and got a couple of digs in about my pet sitting business and working just weekends. That is something that I didn't deserve but the other cake decorator put in her two weeks notice the day before, so he has the right to be upset to lose two at the same time. He totally tried to avoid me on Sunday. No problem. I still put pride into the Dairy Queen cakes that I do until March 10th. I had two friends of mine tell me that I am way too talented for Dairy Queen cakes but I was really thankful for the opportunity that Gary gave me to practice there. Its hard when an owner doesn't want to put in extra money for extraordinary creations....but that is where my home business is going to come in. I am really relieved and sad at the same time.

Kelly~I know what you mean about watching the kids at the pool. You just have to give it to God!

Had a good day AT HOME! So thankful we got that one therapy moved to Wednesday. Makes tomorrow afternoon very full, but I'll take having one day free over two travel days. I am praying the same thing Kelly.... that Maegann will one day be able to just brush the dust off her feet and move forward with strength. It's a tough thing for adults to do, so imagine a child trying to figure it out! I feel so badly that I allowed her to be put in harms way with the ex-adopted gma, but nobody could have guessed how that all would have turned out once she got her opinions about our parenting of Isaac. We didn't need another adult that had a place of authority over her to continue the trend of beating down on her self worth. Praying that God will bring her through so strong!

Anyway.... we got through school this mornind and then went to Subway for lunch (1/2 mile down the street) as it was next door to the Christian thrift store that we had some donations for. Also looked for some jeans for Isaac but they did not have any. Found some cute shirts and pair of shoes for Maegann though. Once home I spent several hours doing food prep for the week to make dinner easier on these therapy afternoons and got the bread and pancake flour bins refilled (have to mix 5-6 different types of flours). After dinner I went to a thrift store in town and found a lot of jeans easily. Also found another shirt and dress for Maegann. (She was with me.) It was a GREAT day!

Tomorrow morning I'll head to the gym and then we'll do school in the morning. Lunch will need to be early so we can get to the rehab place at 1 pm. Won't be home until about 4-4:30 from both appointments and piano lesson. I'm glad I have my bible study lesson ready for tomorrow night!

just got home from swimming (kids not me, I'm too hairy!! lol) i burn calories of worry. I hate water really. I swam ever morning before work of Chaz pregnancy but trying to keep track of THEM around the pool and my gf's 15 month who literally walks off the edge into the water. Makes me shutter!! I ended up eating 1/2 a sub, not sure why. But after looking at it, not too bad like you said Lisa.
Lisa I had over 300k on my 1st Toyota between my brother and I before he bone piled it. It was an 80's Tercel. Not much to look at but I loved it. Mom and i have lots of Toyota and lots of miles, you should be great.
Christina I agree with married to a mechanic makes a difference, but sometimes a downfall. Tim thinks he can resurrect these old cars. This van is the 1st new vehicle he ever had. We have a car from every decade starting with his 60's chevelle, 70's farm truck....crazy really! So sorry about the undue stress in your life from poor Choices of Matthews doing. Its so hard to watch it go down and really takes a toll on all joy. So glad God has brought you to the place of taking back your JOY and drawing the line in the sand. Its hard and takes a ton of love and courage to do it. So praying for breakthrough.
Doro YES, I need an intervention!! LOL reminds me of teh Practical Magic show I watched the other night. But I think they were to be witches and we aren't (although I feel like I act like one most days!! hehe)
Heather high five on goals!
Janet its so hard to decide what to do on the church home front. Kids love their Sunday school but we were so bored with Church, we dont go most weeks, just go to Sunday School. I figured it was better than sitting there wanting to scream. lol So proud of Isaac (and you) on his memory quizzing. Thats incredible!! Hopefully M will see this phase as a growing period in her walk and dust off her sandals so she can move on. Shes very bright that way. God has great things for her.
so tired after doing nothing. how can that be??? lol actually wrestling my kids out of wet clothes, showers, staying dry til we got out to the car and dealing with the wet suits did me in I think!

Dorothy~Thatís good that the hubby has indicated he wants to be in control.

Heather~Hooray for the 4-day streak! Keep it going!

Lisa~I totally agree on the tracking thing! Ugh on the carb coma thoughÖthose are not pleasant.

Had a good day at co-op. Iím tired as usual but the positive is I didnít come home with a ton of stuff I needed to attend to because of the day. Thought Iíd spark and then get things ready for dinner. Did get a chance to talk over the church stuff with one of the moms at co-op that I know has similar thoughts on the whole youth program thing and she agreed that it sounds Maegann needs the freedom from facing the adults/children that have hurt her so much as she works at getting stronger. Just going to pray this one through so we are doing what weíre supposed to and without hurting people.

Why tracking your food is good:

There was an impromptu pizza party at work for the evening shift. I of course was starving (or so I thought) so I joined in.

I had 2 slices of cheese pizza, 2 cinnamon dessert things and one bread stick.(insert feeling guilty here)

So here is the good news: I tracked this as my dinner even though it's only 5:00 pm and it came to 620 calories which still leaves me 200 calories for the night! I thought I had blown it but with a good breakfast and lunch, both of which were planned, I was able to stay on track.

The bad news, I am in a carb coma and hope I can make it to the gym tonight.

Lisa No traffic hardly at all but really, who wants to work at 6:30 am?!? I can make the drive there and back in a little more than an hour from all the way out here in the boonies!

I just got in from Youth Group. Those kids bring me such JOY! I was exhausted and blahh when I got there but after lots of hugs and laughing (I even taught tonight) I came home feeling like I might be able to make it though the week.

Both of our cars are over 150,00. Glad I'm married to a mechanic!

Lisa~How neat that you are 5th out of 30 right now for your at work challenge! Way to go!! Sorry the "cycle" is giving you fits with being late. I dislike this peri-world so much! Your trip in March sounds wonderful.

Dorothy~Glad you got to see the hubby. Can you tell if he really wants to be there or not?

Quizzing went fine. Isaac did pass his first challenge passage so he will have the middle sized trophy for memory work. He has until Wednesday night to finish the second challenge passage so I'm hoping he can say it for someone tomorrow at co-op after lunch and be done. If not, Tim will take him to church Wednesday night so he can get it done.

What a week!

Janet I might be with you on the hormone train. I am three weeks late with my period. Took a pregnancy test which was negative, but I have been binge eating like crazy! Decided tonight to get back on track. I had a pretty good streak of about 50 days but the last week has been a joke. Iím going to restart my spark streaks and move on.

Christina, sorry about Matthew. That drive to Cincinnati at 5:45 a & 3:15 p hopefully arenít as stressful and full of traffic like mine is at 7:30 a and 5:00 p. Itís an hour commute both directions at that time. On the bright side I listen to books on tape during the commute and the time flies by.

Dorothy I bowled on Sat and had my best games a 159, 122 and 161. Did you get to visit with your hubby?

Kelly my car just turned 100K, itís the first car I have ever owned with that much mileage. Iím excited to see if I can get it to 150K. Itís Toyota so thatís doable donít you think?

Janine hope youíre feeling better about your job resignation.

The past week has been rough. I have been on track about 50% of the time and did not exercise other than the stairs at work. I keep going up/down the same 2 pounds for the past 4 weeks. If I am right on track with food and exercise it seems the scale says the same number of I only track 50% of the time and do very limited exercise. I know this is bad JUSTIFICATION for going off track.

I have a lot to look forward to over the next month. I have a Biggest Loser contest at work that ends 3/28. I am currently 5th out of 30. There is a cash prize at the end which would be nice to win. We are also going to Florida on 3/17 to stay in a beach house on Cape San Blas, which is south of Panama City on a little peninsula.

I think I'm ready to get back on track, starting NOW!!!!

Have a great week ladies! May the SPARK be with you this week!

Christina~Hugs on dealing with Matthew. Glad you are setting the boundaries and getting assistance from the hospital when needed. Hugs!!!

We went to our "old" church this morning and it was great seeing everyone. Maegann wants to change churches for obvious reasons. I did tell her we were willing to go more often so she can really find out who attends the classes, etc. as it isn't a fair represenation when we arrive as the long lost cousins who everyone wants to greet. Once home I worked with her on her bible study homework and she broke down again about the bullying and began to rage about the Children's Director. I heard some new things today about the CD and it sounds so much like what happened with the ex-grandma. Sigh. Thankful she has her weekly counseling and praying she can help Maegann work through all this and gain strength. I had Maegann write the stuff down about the CD in her counseling notebook. Just hate this for Maegann, but I know God has something big planned for her on the other side!

Got things ready for Bible quizzing as it is "say your memory verses" day prior to the quiz meet in March. Isaac's almost got both challenge passages memorized. I couldn't do that! I then got stuff ready for co-op tomorrow. Only things left for the day are working on my bible study, sparking and making co-op lunches. Oh...and watching Amazing Race tonight after the kids are in bed.

I am determined to get back into shape. I'm so tired and sluggish. Partly because I am running myself to death! My aunt is still healing from her broken ankle, I drive her to work at 5:45am and pick her up at 3:15 in Cincinnatti. I am so happy that I am able to do it for her. My Matthew is out of control right now we spent the day Friday in a behavioral hospital for crisis intervention. I love the child with all my heart, but I am finished with him disrupting our lives. We came home and layed down strict rules. Next time he is in my face telling me no he will not do something and there is nothing I can do about it he is gonna find a couple swats across his 13year old butt. I never would have tolerated this behavior from my first 3 boys. Not gonna live with his threats any more. I think its time to get control of my house and my life. I have been eating out of control because of the stress and exhaustion. I think I finally hit my breaking point.

I look forward to catching up with you all this week. Keep my family in your prayers.

Christina~They put me on team Daisy. I used to be a Butterfly but awhile back I got slipped from the invites and now there is no room. Glad you survived your Chrysalis weekend! Iím looking forward to a few activities winding down myself.

Dorothy~Sounds like you had a busy day too. Thanks for your encouragement on pulling it all together. I didÖyou should definitely read tonightís blog!

I had a much better day. Hormones have leveled out once again and I got a lot done. I put it all in my blog so wonít go over it all here again. Just thankful to feel in control again.

What a day. My computer is giving me trouble so I finaaly got our Michaels old net book. I lost my first post - getting very frustrated. Ran some errands this morning, fixed the leaky shower faucet, took Michael bowling, and then I started painting the entry room. Got most of it done. Tomorrow we are suppose to go see hubby.

Kelly - you will get your groove back. I think you need to find your passion. Maybe I need to make a trip to State College.

Christina - I am on the Amazing A's. Lets rock and roll!!

Janet - I have no doubt that you will have it all under control in no time. Glad all went well last night.

Janet I was thinking about how much time we really do spend running here and there. Its crazy when I add it all up (and I by NO MEANS run like you have to). Monday I have to take the van to get its 25 K mile service and it feels like I just got it. I'm not even a traveler. Thats just here and there trips! I used to make fun of my gf that played those Baby einstein CD's when the kids were so young, but know I'm thinkingwe need to use that time wisely! We pray alot in the van and the other day Livy asked me how I can drive with my eyes closed. LOL

Dorothy~At least this therapy group doesnít require me to get in the van and drive to it! I am telling myself the same thingÖI just need time to get life reorganized around all the new therapy trips. And youíre rightÖ.no more Sonic! Hope your stomach feels better tomorrow.

Janine~Hugs to you on the decision to leave DQ and I totally get how nice it would be to have that plan just fall from heaven for the future.

Kelly~Be glad you donít have a Sonic! High calories, but some of the best onion rings around! Iíve loved those since I was in high school.

I am feeling some better tonight. Got a good nap before heading out to presentation night and TOM is definitely on its way so there is hope for me to gain control on the emotional front. LOL Presentation night for co-op went smoothly tonight even with all the changes and lack of things done for us that had been promised. Was thankful for one of the other ladies on the leadership team for coming earlier and laughing with me about "Why do we worry... God always works it out for us."

The weekend will be calmer, but I do hope to get some things done at home that were left unattended by not being home much this week. I plan to get the regular gym routine back this week and will start tomorrow by going prior to picking up my Bountiful Basket and going grocery shopping.

I was just logging on, feeling like a slug all week!! I think I want Jillian M to move in with me!! Not sure why its so hard to self police UGH I actually bought a pie today because it was 50 % off. (justified it was something for in Tim's lunch and cheaper than making anything) Tonight is Swedish meatballs over egg noodles. My menu has been LAME. only 2 veggies all week. frozen peas/carrots in a casserole and frozen bean medley. I just get tired of the fight to eat them and since they drown them in ranch dressing, I figure whats the point? Tim is still insisting on rewarding 'eat your dinner' with dessert.(which again is counter productive to eating veggies) UGH he grew up that way. He has never had to watch his diet until now (high cholesterol).
Janine. It will all come together soem how. Its such a vicious cycle of feeling down/bad life style choices/feeling bad UGH. Small steps. It really does work when you are consistent and it will take a few weeks to get in the groove. YOU CAN DO IT. Follow Spark with goals setting, logging, water drinking.....feeling like the pot calling the kettle black but it does work and I'm just in a slump, soooooo I need to go back to square one I think!
Janet SONIC??? I see them on TV but never been near one! thank Heavens! Shake it off, and get back at the gym, you feel better each time, and get more energy. Sounds like you are running ragged! Take a breather tomorrow....
Doro we are a great therapy group! and FREE!! Glad you are managing to avoid stomach YUK and M is getting better.

Wow - I think we are all a mess right now - lol - our own little therapy group. I did not make it to the Y at all yesterday - my tummy felt a little off so I ended up leaving work a bit early and going home and napping with Micahel. He feels so much better finally - my tummy is still a bit crampy but I have so other signs - maybe just symparthy cramps! Today I will shoot for spinning.

Janine - emoticon I know how you feel. Taht is wahat happened to me when I was working part time at wal-mart - one day I walked in and thought - I can't do this no more. You will be OK - you just need to figure it all out. And remember we are always here for you.

Kelly - aw - the good intensions trap. I do the same thing all of the time - especially in the store. I will pick something up to make with such good intensions and somehow it jsut does not happen. At least our intensions are good!!

Janet - yikes! Steer clear of sonic from now on. You will get this new schedule figure out soon - remember you are the queen of organization. Just give yourself some time and it will all fall into place. Yea for a free Saturday!!

I am wishing everyone a really great day! I am putting in my two weeks notice at Dairy Queen tomorrow. I just can't do it anymore. Even though I am crying inside because they really have been good to me, I just can't physically do it anymore. I am crying as I type this because I really want GOD to take lead of my life somehow but feel that my control is always preventing things which is only human. I really would love a book to fall out of the sky and say "Janine, this is where you are going next and it will be fine". I feel like a quitter, that I haven't made the comittment to weight loss like I should have, may have a failing cake business at home and such. All of this from exhaustion. I am looking forward to spending more time on the SPARK website as I am going to have more time. To all my SPARKLERS, have a good day...I am thinking about you. emoticon

Dorothy~Good reminder for me, but Iím still feeling a bit overwhelmed. I know I need to adjust the ďusual routineĒ but Iím resistant! So sorry Michael has been so ill. I agree with KellyÖitís been going on too long and could be a bacteria he picked up at the splash lagoon. Hope you made it to spinning and body blast.

Kelly~And those emotions are definitely stealing my joy right now and I must crawl out from under it all quickly. Iíve not been to the gym all week as Iíve been exhausted in the mornings. I had a major emotional eating binge this afternoonÖtoo bad Sonic is half a block from therapy! I went today while waiting for Isaacís longer group session today. Regretted it completely.

I am so tired of being in that van I could just scream. We left the house this morning for skating about 9:45 and did not get home until 1:45. Left again at 2:50 and got home about 4:50. When I am I supposed to get things done because I just canít see doing house cleaning, etc. at night. Tomorrow is another Build a Bear day as Maegann wants to spend her birthday money there so we will leave about 9:45. Should be home about noon and with any luck Tim will be able to take Isaac to his therapy in the afternoon so I can stay home until time to leave for Presentation Night. Have to be at the church about 4:45. Wonít be home until about 9. Thankfully Saturday is blank on the calendar, but I do have an early morning to pick up my Bountiful Basket and I will definitely go to the gym even though I should volunteer at Basket.

Hi girls. Storytime done (got way too many books again). I always THINK I will read them to the kids but....LOL Hope they don't keep track of which ones we take out or they will think i"m losing it with getting the same books over and over. haha
Doro splash lagoon doesnt have any bodies in the water tank do they? Kidding. I saw that in the news and now they put a water boil advisory on (gee, ya think!) Not sure where it was at. GROSS. I hope he gets over it. Makes ya wonder if its a waterborne bacteria thing. Not sure how they check for that type of thing but that many days of v/d is quite a bit.
Cyn I feel for ya. Its so frustrating to have one sick, then jsut as they get better WHAM....UGH. Hope all passes by with no more troubles. Yeah on violin. We have Tim's old one and every now and then he thinks he can play NOT. Chaz wants to learn guitar and Liv already plays her 'tar, piano, and anything else she can. It's the joyful noise that counts!! lol
Janet ((HUGS)) on those emotions. They are the king of lies, stealer of joy, robber of happy!! ERRRrrr. Theres gotta be a simple solution. We can't let women suffer forever, I need to invent a mood lifter (legal one) haha

Janet - I guess we just need to remember that God does not give us more than we can handle - although I know we question it sometimes. Before you know it will just be a regular routine. Gald M enjoyed her Birthday dinner and you your bible study.

Cyndrea - I had to go pick up Micahel yesterday. Ever since he went to spalsh lagoon on Sturday he has been throwing up and diarea. Now I am wondering if I need to call the Drs or wait for it to pass. Poor guy. I feel so bad for him. Gave him some immodian last night and this morning. I hope your guy is feeling beter.

Kelly - I think you are right - you need to start letting God worry more and you less - you are going to make yourself crazy. Love how our kids are so smart andknow right from wrong. And they are not afraid to call us on it!

Bowled my average last night. Tonight hopefully I will make it to spinning and body blast this afternoon.

Cynedra~Sounds like one of those "comes and goes" type of illnesses. Hope it doesn't morph into something bigger.

Kelly~Can just see you getting that comeuppance from your little one about your swearing! LOL Good that he is enjoying the teacher and school even though you aren't quite as pleased.

Maegann's dinner went well tonight although Tim was 45 min. late as he got caught behind an accident on the interstate. We ordered half-price appetizers for the wait. I left for bible study right after and actually went by Walgreens for a few items on the way there since I had about 10 extra minutes. Study was very interesting again. We studied the fall and once again we go "why did you do it Eve?"

Tomorrow the kids both want to go to the homeschool skate and I'm saying "can't we just stay home?!" Sigh. The emotional side of all these therapies hit me this evening hard. Thankfully our bible study leader has/is living with this same type of thing only her children are much older so she was a great comfort tonight.

Kelly - I can so relate to bad things coming out of your mouth during driving. I try not to do it but sometimes things slip out. I have told the boys that some words are only for driving. Yeah, its a cop out but, um, you do what you have to.

Janet - I hope M's dinner went nicely.

Doro - I'm glad you were able to get everything done. L will do the violin at least through the end of the school year. He seems to be enjoying it so far, but I don't know if he will continue or not. I hope so. My only problem with it is that I told him long ago that if he wanted to play in band in middle/high school, he had to play a real instrument before he could play the drums. (Not that drums aren't a real instrument, but it seemed like the drummers never learned to read music as well and such back in my day). Now, I'm thinking the violin might count as the real instrument. He says it is his favorite instrument even before starting lessons so we shall see.

Heather - Enjoy the snow for me too. It's supposed to be in the 80s here late this week.

S made it back to school today. However, the school called me yesterday at the end of the school day to come pick up L. He had gotten sick just as he got on the bus to come home. So L was home all day today. He didn't seem sick at all though.

Have a great day tomorrow.

hi gals.
Cyned YUK hope he gets it out of his system SOON.
Janet yeah on M's birthday
Doro so glad you can start moving forward to a 'solution' with the rehab and all. Keep Spinning Sister!!
Heather I'm with ya. once spring mud gets hear then heat....seems and eternity for me. I'm not a hot-weather gal. Nice there is a positive to kid being sick (no more clean up) lol
I am praying Chaz stay heathy. He had a scratchy throat last night and I was distraught (fearing another strep) but God seemed to speak to me that I need to 'get a grip' haha He was Ok this am and went to school. I really hate being away from him all day til 3 and yet I know he is really enjoying his teacher and kids at school. the otehr day I swore at driver (this area is BAD for old men/drunks etc) and I used my pet phrase Jack***. (its awful how quickly my mouth can let it fly when I feel endangered on the road)Then quickly asked for forgiveness!! chaz said "mom, don't you know your mouth is the dipstick of your heart" He learned that at school!! So glad he learns these things that make me look bad! haha...actually its great accountability for me to step it up as a mom! UGHHHH. Happy Day my wonderful Spark Gals!!

Dorothy~So thankful you got the hubby to rehab smoothly. Big sigh of relief! I'm with you...ready for spring although not ready for mowing season to begin again. LOL

Heather~Enjoy your quiet day!

Have Isaac working on his math test and am hoping he can be done by 10:30 so I can run a couple quick errands before our early lunch. I have to drop him at Amy's by 12:30 and then go with Maegann to the counselling appointment. The counselor phoned this morning and he is needing to determine how to bring her into the counseling... under Isaac's plan as "family", take her on as a new client or refer her to another counselor. Freed Tim up from having to drive in for the session today which was nice. Afterwards we should be home about 30 min. before leaving for piano. We also decided to take Maegann to Friday's for her birthday dinner and will meet Tim there about 5. Will give me plenty of time to make it to bible study tonight.

Will pass along the birthday wishes!

Heather and Kelly - you can have the snow - I am so ready for spring. We had such crazy weather yesterday - rain, sleet, and snow. School was on a 2 hour delay. Luckily hubby and I had no problems getting him to rehab - it is about 1 1/2 hours away. It was a bit touchy out last night taking Micahel to karate. WE proabably got around 3 inches over night and are suppose to get more today. Suppose to be in the teens - again tonight. But the weekend and next week looks like it will start inching up. GEtting him into rehab went very smoothly - just getting him out of our town was crazy. WE had to go to the notarys, the drug store, the credit union, etc., etc. But we got through it all and got him there on time.

Cyndrea - hope the boys are feeling better. Glad to hear they enjoy the violin. Micahel took it one year and was not impressed. One of my daughters plays it and she plays it beautifully.

Heather - hope you are enjoying your quiet morning.

Janet - oh wise one to cancel a meeting. Hope all goes as planned. Tell Megean Happy Birthday from me!

I did make it to spinniong last night and am planning on going at noon again today - plus bowling tonight!

Janet - emoticon to Maegann. Hope you all have fun celebrating

Doro - Wondering how checking in to rehab went

Cynedra - My oldest had tummy virus trouble w/that end over the weekend, no fun. At least at 14 I don't do the clean up :), just the laundry emoticon

Finally starting to feel more like myself again. Quiet house this morning so I should be able to get the cleaning done. love looking outside and seeing snowflakes. I told my friend that she can start talking about spring in March. That gives me about another week to enjoy snow.

Cynedra~Glad you made it to violin practice on time and that the kiddo seems to enjoy it! Hope the other one feels better soon.

Dorothy~Praying re: the rehab!! I checked Sonya's FB page and there's nothing there about our current curiousity. Last post was Sunday and totally worship related.

We slept in this morning (much needed) and then after breakfast we got some schoolwork done. I also have a load of laundry in the dryer. Glad I did one load last night! We will grab a quick lunch and head out about 12:30 for the hair trims. Plan is to drop Maegann off at home afterwards and then take Isaac to his therapy which is at 2:30. Afterwards we'll go to Walmart so he can buy M's birthday present and I can get a few groceries. Roast is in the crockpot for supper. Definitely was wise on my part to cancel the co-op leadership meeting for this month as it would have been tonight.

I did get my hair done last night and was up in plenty of time and had everyone to violin lessons on time. l seems to love it and just glows from pride while doing the lessons. He thrives with one on one stuff I think. Discovered in the midst of the lesson that S wasn't as finished with the stomach virus as I thought - other end of his system now. I had to bring him home with me and clean him up. I was able to go by his classroom though and get his homework for the week which he will be working on shortly.

Wishing lots of luck to those who need it and prayers as well.

Kelly~Interesting. She did have a Dayshia! I will see what I can find from Facebook with Sonya.

Dorothy~Yes, you will get a lot done once the hubby is in rehab! Hope Michael is feeling better. I still think about trying the procedure to seal things off, but with my luck it wouldnít take just like the pills didnít do as they are supposed to. LOL

Janine~Yes, sometimes we must take care of ourselves no matter the cost. Especially when you are trusting it to God! I just read your blog too so know what youíre considering as a family.

Heather~I actually got rested on this trip as I didnít really have any responsibility for several days in a row. Enjoyed just sitting and reading for hours on end! Hope you sleep better tonight.

Cynedra~Sorry about TOM! Iím expecting it will show up once youíre done with it this time. Talk about sharing! LIOL

Another busy day at co-op, but a very good one too. We now only have 8 more class days left for this year! When you say it that way it doesn't seem long at all. Presentation night is on Friday and my music class is playing "Jesus Loves Me" on the kids' handbells. Very cute.

This week is our first FULL week of therapies. Tomorrow Maegann and I will head for our hair trims (appt at 1) and then I'll drop her off at the house and pick Isaac up for his Occupational Therapy (appt at 2:30). Afterwards I'll take him to Walmart as it is just down the street so he can do his birthday shopping for Maegann. The actual day is the 20th. Going to put a roast in the crockpot and then put some mashed cauliflower with it for dinner.

Okay, did you all have to send TOM my way as well. One day, this too shall pass.

Janine - I read your blog as well. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. I need to find work but also feel the need to be here with and for my family. It isn't easy and we do without a lot of things that others think is a necessity. But so far it has worked for us.

Heather - I hope the cramps are letting up. It is no fun, I know. I hope you sleep better tonight.

Violin lesson for L in the morning and I still need to do my hair.

Have a terrific Tuesday.

Janine - just read your blog. HUGS to you. Sure that God has just what you need down the road. It sure would help though if the mileage signs let us know how long til we get there :)

Kelly - so with you on the easy to break Good/hard to break bad Habits thing. Glad Tim made it home safe.

Doro - Project Queen or should I say Project Princess, that sounds better.

Janet - Did getting away help or did it just make you more tired?

Slept so poorly last night. Woke up at 2 am with terrible cramps, finally back to sleep around 5 and up at 6 with the kids. Long day. Heading to bed.

Well, I am back! Feeling a lot better from the flu that really kicked my butt! Making a lot of good decisions about jobs and emotional health. Even though I am still crying over a decision of a job I have to make in the next week, something tells me in the long run it will be better. I think at age 43, you feel different about spending time with family then when you were 20. I work with a lot of 18 to 20 year olds and I don't think it helps me as I have been feeling really down about my age lately. Just really going through a depression and believe me...leaving this job doesn't help financially. Has anyone ever felt that you just have to take care of yourself no matter what the cost? Really been relying on God to guide me.

Heather - that is alot of geos - very impressive.

Kelly - you are right - you will get back ino them. I went up a whole size this past year - I am going down, down, down! I think it was from all of the stress. Lookout ladies - once I get hubby into rehab I am going to be a crazy ladie at my house - so much to do - where to start!

Cyndrea - Micahel was throwing upo yesterday. He had gone to splash laggon the day before so I am hoping he swallowed too much water and not a bug! Glad to hear your little one is feeling better.

Janet - glad to hear you made it home safe and sound. I so do not mis TOM!

Spinning today!

I just saw a pic of a missing girl on FB named Dayshia Conner. White, developed teen?? brown hair....I wish I could post it to here. It just struck me as soon as I saw that name. Wasn't that Sonya's, and if it were one in the same???? it said missing from Pa though....if anyone has contact with her, let me know thanks

Oh Tim made it home around 5, slept an hour or so and off to work. Glad he was safe and trying not to be negative about the mood he will be in tonight.
Janet have a great day at co op. You do such a good job at that! Hoping TOM is kind to you. I think i get mine all at once like Niagra Falls then dries up like the seirra desert. Strange and starting to notice headaches/nausea with it more but not the severe cramps/whooozies I used to get in my 20's. Some perks to aging!!

WOW...I feel like I read a novel with the most wonderful characters ever! You ladies are awesome. I haven't been very faithful on Spark or myself. I bought those LL Bean pants off the quarter rack in my usual size and they are soooo tight but it WILLHAPPEN! lol This is my TOM too. I'm thinking we must all be on together! lol I never keep track but my mom thinks I'm getting more irregular. I was like the moon!! When I was pg with Chaz, I thought I was going into meno....NOT! I also thought I food poisoned our neighbors with lasagna but I was the only one sick. Guess it took awhile for me to figure things out. Tim had to barracade me in the bathroom with the pee stick. hehe
Doro I think you are very brave for facing this dragon in life. I'm sure its hard for him but you have a whole other set ot things to deal with. Praying for smoothtransition and GREAT outcome!!
Heather I must admit: JEALOUS!! hehe, it sounds lovely. I LOVE snow/winter cabin stuff. I want to have more winter and Tim wants less! Guess we will stay put.
Janet so sad about mil. Its hard to see that I bet. And hard on Tim for sure to be so far away.
Hi Dawn what a amazing story. I agree with Doro on 10 min quickfires. Wish I would DO them!! I was queen of workout every hour on the hour for a few minutes and tehn I just got out of tht habit. Not sure whyits so easy to quit GOOD habits and hard to break BAD ones UGH

Tim is heading out on call, about 3 hrs away. I hate him traveling at nite into the city. and I'm not real wild at being home alone at night...windy and cold out; 20 degrees. Wood stove is going. Pray for safety/travel mercies please.

Heather~Hugs on TOM. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Cynedra~Glad your little sickie is feeling a bit better and definitely praying you don't get it!

We got home about 2 this afternoon. Got things put away, swept floors, made tacos and then we headed to bible quizzing. As the hubby lost his phone in CO he had found a replacement for $50 so we drove to the next town (about 10 miles) to get it. Same brand/model and actually seems to be in better shape than the lost one.

Ready (yeah, right!) for co-op in the morning. I'm actually looking forward to my nap when I get home. LOL

S is doing much better. He is able to keep food and drink down again, but is still a bit tired from being sick. I hurt from coughing so much but the stomach thing has stayed away so far.

Janet - DH's mom was a lot like Tim's mom. It was sad but at least she wasn't a wanderer. My SILs father passed away in December and they had major issues with him trying to wander until his Parkinson's got too bad anyway.

Doro - Sending prayers your way that everything goes okay.

Heather - I hope TOM isn't too horrible for you. Also, thought I add we geocache occasionally and enjoy it, but usually do it in combination with biking or hiking. We have nowhere near 400 (or 100 for that matter).

Have a blessed remainder of this Sunday.

Hi Ladies,

Janet - Glad you've had a chance to read a little. So sorry about Tim's mom.

Cynedra - Sorry about the yuckies, hope they go away soon!

Doro - I'll be praying for a smooth transition to rehab and a life changing experience for him and as a result you.

TOM started today, so very tired and blah. Hope it'll just be for one day this month. Dh and Nick went out geocacheing to try to get 400 caches before our friends do. They found enough and are on their way home.

Cynedra~Hope you can keep that sickness at bay for yourself and the S feels better soon.

Tim's mom really didn't know who we were today at all. She went with us, but just sits there and makes a comment about something at odd times. So sad.

Have had some nice rest while here. I finished one book last night and have made a good dent in a new one. Will be ready to hit the road for home in the morning!

Hi all, I've been coughing day and night so hoping to get over that soon. Now, S can't keep anything down and I'm hoping the rest of us don't get it as well.

Regarding the menopause, my older sister (by 3 years) is starting to do the closer together and then longer apart periods. She last went 75 days between cycles and thought she was done. Mine are starting to be a little bit goofier myself - short time of 25 days, but longest is only about 32. Good Luck!

Lisa~Unfortunately it is different for everyone. I had some wacky periods and tried B control and provera. Both worked for a time and then I started having long periods of spotting. Now that I am off those my cycle has been fairly regular again. My biggest issue has been mood swings so I am on progesterone cream. The cycles will be wacky though for years once Peru and menopause begin. I would definitely see your doctor to rule out a cyst.

Tim's mom is much worse this time. She appeared happy we came to visit but doesn't seem to really know who we are. We will go get her for lunch today and then over to SIL place for Maeganns birthday party. Will be ready by evening to head home. We will leave about 4am.

Lisa - tough question - I think everyone is differant. I had my son at 41. Probably in my late 40's i had a period that lasteed off and on for 6 weeks. Went to the Dr - was not in menopause so they inserted an IUD which stopped my periods all togheter. And by the time I went into menopause and had my IUD taken out my periods were gone. So...for me I went from a 28 day cycle like you to a 6 week period. If things are starting to change I would suggest to go and see your Dr. Tell you what - that is one thing I do not miss!

Janet - brillinant. Enjpy your stay.

Well I have much to get accomplished today so i guess I better get busy!

I have a question about going through "The Change." Here's the deal, I had my last child at 42 and have always had regular periods. I had a period in January that was only 3 weeks later than the one before which was surprising because I am a 28 day'er give or take a day and that period came 21 days later. I am a week late and have no signs what so ever. Hubby has been fixed but did not go to the follow up appointment, but I have no pregnancy feelings either.

So my question: Is this how the change starts or would I have other symptoms? If you went or are going through the change at what age did it start?

PS My mom had a hysterectomy in her 30's so I can't compare my process with what she went through.

Well, we got wild and crazy last night as we were finishing dinner and decided to drive all night and get to CO to have an extra day here. We left about 7:30pm and arrived at 5am. Actually shaved an hour off our drive and less $ as we weren't buying breakfast or snacks! Would work even better if we planned to leave by 6pm. We slept until 9 once here so that was helpful.

Heather~The vacation sounds absolutely wonderful!!! Will be praying for the "what next" as far as your mission field. And yes...a tablet is definite motivation!

Prayers for both of you going through the issues with the hubbies and their alcoholism. Can't be easy for any of you.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check out that team for quick fire challenges. I've done the 5% challenges before and I liked them but with less time to get everything done they started to feel like too much pressure. lol I don't like letting my team down.

Homeschooling for a 6 year old is a lot of fun. It takes me more time to get organized and plan for the week than it does for him to actually school. lol I'm glad I have the opportunity to do it.

I hope everyone has a Sparktastic day! I'm off to town for my "me" day :) emoticon

Lisa - Hubby is alcohol free since last Saturday and he aches everywhere. I am hopefully taking him to rehab on Sunday - he has two days to get all of his ducks in a row. I hope your hubby cvan stay strong and am hoping my hubby makes it to rehab and lets it work for him - lots of prayers for both of us.

Heather - sounds like a little bit of heaven on earth. Glad it was such a wonderful vacation. I am sure you will make your goal. Thatis awesome. Are you on the amazing A's again. I am so ready for it to start - it is time for me to start taking good care of me again.

DAwn - wow - you have a lot on your plate. It has been proven that if you can do 10 minutes of exercise a day - 10 times a day - it is as good as a hour workout. So if you can carve out 10 minutes an hour and do something until you can get to the point in your life when you can give yourself a whole hour it will work. There is a quick fire team that gives you a workout to do every day. I ususally do something in the bathroom at work everytime I go - like a plank or wall pushups or leg lifts - something that can be done pretty much standing up. There is always jumping jacks, jump roping, going up and down stairs - you get my drift. You can do it!!

Janet - I hope you have a safe trip.

Last weeks defeat is a gateway to many victories.

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. emoticon

I went on late Geocacheing Date with DH. It is one of his favorite things to do. We still have snow on the ground so that made it more challenging and cold but still lots of fun(by the way I volunteered the idea)

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation. About a week before we were in Switzerland for a conference and to get an idea of whether that will be where we go for our next missions term. We have now officially requested a change of field and are waiting for a decision. It is one of the most expensive places to live so we're not sure if they will say yes. We were able to see first hand that they are ready to push forward with church planting as a Fellowship and we would love to help them.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
That was winter vacation. We stayed in a vacation apartment that came with a card that allowed us free lift tickets at several ski hills, free tubing, and also free entrance to swimming pools in the area. It snowed almost 3 feet while we were there. The apartment was on one floor of a farm house. We even were able to try out Cross country skiing for free. I LOVED it. It was hard work but great fun exercise. We couldn't have asked for a more fun vacation. No injuries, just fun.

Now it's time to get down to business! Just talked with DH about really wanting to get down to 160 before we return to the states in June. The 5% Challenge starts at the end of next week. That should help with the first 10. DH said that if I do make it it he will buy me a Tablet of some kind when we get to the states. That's some pretty strong motivation.

Dawn, sounds like a wonderfully busy time of life for you right now. Try not to get discouraged. Hopefully soon the weather will change and you will be able to get outside and walk or play with the kids.

Janet, have a great trip. Hoping that the time away will be refreshing and not draining with the travel.

Lisa - good to hear about DH! and emoticon on the weight loss.

Doro - emoticon on the bowling!

Have a great weekend!

Dawn~Good to see you at chat! What a whirlwind you've got going with those kiddos! Nice that you could help keep the siblings together. It is a tough thing getting that exercise in when they are so small. I honestly couldn't do it consistently until my youngest was 7. I joined a gym and now go in the morning while they are still sleeping and get home either right before the hubby heads out for work or has already left within about 15 min. I saw make a list of what has to be done each day (the routine) and then schedule appointments for the exercise. Enlist the hubby to help get you out of the house for the exercise too. Homeschooling adds another dimension into finding time too! With your 6 year old at least you can still get that done within a couple of hours. We're finally to the place we are usually done by noon now and I can see the time stretching as their subjects get more involved!

Did not go to the gym. So tired. I am having thoughts of going in next week to have the retest my thyroid as I can't seem to shake it. Figure I'll wait and see if 3 days away from home helps first.

Almost finished with school, laundry is going and then I can get things packed. Doesn't take long as we don't need much for such a short trip. Nowhere to go until 3 when I take Isaac for his group speech therapy. A friend is driving to the girls' bible study today so she will stop by and get Maegann which means Tim doesn't have to come home early this week, I can stay at the therapy and get back in plenty of time to pick Maegann up. Very helpful today!

Nothing going on tonight and then we'll be on the road by 4 a.m. Have wireless at his sisters so I should be able to check in.

Hello everyone. I introduced myself to the group on the Intro Forum the other day. I'm getting myself back under control after really going bonkers since the end of October. I was 167 pounds right before my hysterectomy and I've slowly walked up the weight gain ladder up to 194 pounds.

I was able to keep my weight in the range fluctuating between 164 to 171 for a year. I was steadily losing weight and heading towards my final goal until our surprise baby girl was born. We got a call from her birth mom telling us she was pregnant and she asked us if we wanted to adopt the baby. Her delivery date was a month away, we were thrown for a loop but really wanted to keep the siblings together (we adopted our 2nd son from the same birth parents a year previous) and I always wanted 3 kids. So we agreed to adopt the new baby. I went to town the next day to start picking up baby things and got a call from a nurse telling me the birth mom was in labor early and had been rushed to the hospital via ambulance. Alisa was born 50 minutes later. We brought her home with us 2 days later. So that's the background story.

Since then it's been a struggle for me to squeeze in any time for myself. My 2 youngest are 15 months apart and I'm homeschooling our 6 year old son. My DH is not much help this time of year, he suffers from seasonal depression so he is not able to take care of all 3 kids properly right now. Occasionally on a good day he'll take the 2 boys outside to play in the snow if the temperatures are not too nasty. When he can take them I generally don't have the energy to hop on the treadmill. I usually just crash for a quick nap or read a book for an hour. This is starting to sound like a bit of a pity party but it's really not. It's just the way it is. I have been able to find a day care that will take the kids one day a week so I can shop by myself. And 2 weeks ago I started using a day pass to go to a fitness center that's in town on my "me" day. (We live 24 miles away from the nearest town.)

I tried using the treadmill at night after the kids are in bed, but after a busy day with them I'm ready to sleep, not run. To get some exercise in I am doing 2-15 minute mini workouts 4 days a week and it's okay but boring. I get one long workout on my "me" day. Usually around an hour and a half. I do my first workout before the kids wake up at 6:15-ish. My 2nd workout I fit in usually around 3:00. I like to run and my goal is to be able to run my 2nd 5K race in September. . I just don't know how I'm going to fit in the training I need to get to that goal.

Which leads me to my question for the group. How do you organize your time to make working out a priority? Any suggestions for me?

Happy Valentines Day and much sparklove to you all!

I received a card and a box of candy from a patient that discharged two weeks ago from the hospital. What a nice surprise. I'm still sparking along and was down at this weeks weigh in. Hubby is still alcohol free since Friday which makes me happy. He's been a little irritable which is to be expected and better than the alternative.

Hope everyone has a lovely day!
