End of the month...don't forget to turn in your service time. Hope all those aux. pioneering made their time. I finished my last two hrs today.

Also got in an hr of mowing plus grandchildren time also...granddaughter collected fistfuls of worms..and then distributed them among our planters. Poor worms. Grandson had a blast on the backhoe with Papa....driving it down to collect the firewood Papa had cut earlier in the day. It was 80 degrees here today...pretty weather.

emoticon everyone. Having a long day. Got out and did some mowing.

Don, no one that we know of records any of the Conventions so that avenue is out. It's a shame too since a number of ones from our Hall have been in the dramas the last 5 or 6 years and we have never gotten to see them. Maybe some day, we will get to have last years DC and hopefully, last Saturday's SAD.

everyone....
TMS review tonight...I enjoy listening to each answer from our br/sis....it helps me to have a fuller understanding, hearing others ways of answering.
It's sunny, but still below seasonal temp wise....I am going to finish painting the lattice on our deck...a loooooong job, but painting relaxes me. And I will be in the sun, so perhaps the cool winds won't be a bother.
I'm hoping to get to tidying up a garden bed that's in the shade, perhaps tomorrow.
Thursday morning is service... emoticon

And a week this Thursday, I am leaving to go to my DD's and then a week Sunday we leave on our Alaskan Cruise. emoticon This may be the last one...so I am going to enjoy and chronicle every moment with pictures and a journal.

Warm hugs to all, you each are in my prayers....may Jehovah's holy spirit comfort you today in whatever way you need him.

Hi Everyone,

DS will need to have gallbladder removed. Grandson is having some emotional issues and need to see a specialist and he's only 6 so looks like we will be doing some babysitting GD. I hope they find some new ways to help him.

Wow! where did the month go?

Hi Everyone! Our New Hall is almost completed! This last Sunday we had our WT lesson inside for the first time, 84 were present because we had it at 8 am. and it looked half empty! it is so much bigger than the old hall. We are officially in the new hall on May 14 the Tuesday after our CA. Tonight will be our very last meeting as a congregation at the old hall. I will post more pics of the progress and a few of our old hall for comparison sake.

Carol I am so sorry that you will not be able to attend DC. If you receive the cds of the conventions from the society due to copyright laws they should not be duplicated for others use. However it is allowable for anyone to video the sessions personally and duplicate for others. It is not allowable to use the power sources at the convention site for your equipment. So if there is someone in your Congregation or another Congregation that is video taping the sessions it is allowable for them to burn copies and distribute to brothers and sisters that might request it from them. It is their personal decision as to whether they do this or not. Every aspect of the DC and Assemblies is open to the public and therefore is not restricted from video taping, only using the power sources are restricted.

Well my sciatic had eased up by this past weekend and we attended the most beautiful wedding Sunday. When the dancing began Kim and I got out there on the fist open dance. Later they were playing some swing and couldn't help but break into a jitter-bug! I was doing pretty good!! Slept good, and took my youngest to the gym to work out Monday morning, and I walked a little over a mile on the treadmill then some work on a couple upper body machines, still feeling pretty good, didn't take any motrin before, so came home took 4 then went to the build site and did some scraping and painting around an exit door, When done it looked better than I felt! The sciatica said you did too much! I also believe the high amount of sugar I had the day before was a factor.Guess this is gonna take some time to work out. Graduation party this weekend and Kim has already told me NO DANCING! I might get a slow one in with her however...LOL

Keep doin' what your doin' Carl, things will work out.

Onlytemporary - I am so sorry for all you are dealing with now. I wonder, do you think it would be helpful to give the elder a thumb drive? I know it's faster to download data to a USB drive than burn a CD. But I don't know if they are allowed to do that. Just a thought.

Found out today at Sister H's memorial, we lost a Brother yesterday emoticon Don't know who it was. I's not on line yet. I was mistaken on her being from Zimbabwe, they are from Jamaica so it is someone else that speaks Zimbabwe.

Left a message on the Elder's machine today about needing the cd's. Hope we get them right off. I know it takes a few weeks for them to be made though.

HI everyone,

Carol soon you will be able to breath without getting sick. Maybe someone can video tape the assemblys and conventions for you. Talk to your elders.

Carl- in our PT today it was mentioned about keeping a balance view of recreation and even what we do with the friends. It made me think of you and what you shared last week. Hope that back is going better today.

Cina- Hope you have a nice day. Yap! I'm feeling your heat. We actually got up to 70 (a heat wave for us).

All for now

I decided to get up and do my workout today even though every fiber in my body was screaming. "NO!". After I did that, I was getting ready for fs. We meet as a cong. the last Saturday of the month. It was moved from 9:30 to 10. Thankfully, our overseer picked a shady territory. I was still sweating up a storm. We got up to 90 degrees today.

I will absolutely share all the heat we have with anyone that wants it. I prefer 60 degrees and below. Without sunshine is even better. I live in the wrong part of California for despising the heat so much!

Carl, As others have suggested, let those in the cong. know about your goals. Maybe invite some that have invited you for food to go walking or hiking or even a bike ride. I hope your pain subsides. My son has a lot of privileges in the KH as well. When anyone is sick, Jacob picks up the slack. He has given more impromptu Bible readings than he was ever assigned. I am really proud of him though! Keep up the good work with your workouts!

I need to get in bed. It's almost 1 am. I was able to take a 2.5 hour nap today. That helped a lot with the pain from my workout.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks everyone. It was a very hard decision. Off and on all night long while I was awake I would try to convince myself that 'you can do it' but I know that if I want to go on living and be here to help my dh and keep him alive, I can't. It's a bummer that we have to give up all the conventions once again. After we moved here in '01' we got them back after 10 or so years so this is a bitter pill to swallow. We just keep reminding each other several times a day that Jehovah is there for us and as usual, it's only temporary. The end is so close and we refuse to allow Satan to use this against us.

We have decided we are going to try to our shopping late at night. Safeway is open till 11, Super 1 24/7 and Wal-Mart till midnight. Unfortunately the latter 2 are in Walla Walla which means night time driving. We will do what we have to do. As the Pharmacy closes at 7:30 I think, we'll just call them in and then rush in and out. He won't let me go in the stores alone any more. He has to watch to see how I am being affected so he can get me out.

Carl, be careful you don't really aggravate your back. Your to valuable at the Hall to become disabled and down completely for a while.

Have a great meeting tomorrow everyone. We won't have one at all. Just the Memorial.

I was about to put in four hours of service today as I refused to let the pain in my back ground me. But I think I will take it easy for the rest of the day and ice and head it and hope I can get back to normal soon.

Asta- I was bound to get something mixed up with my catch up of the group. emoticon

Andee- Hang in there. Sorry to hear your in so much pain. Somehow all those thing you need done will get done or maybe not. Maybe it's time to ask for help. I would encourage you to keep up your journaling and stopping in here to keep us up dated with health. You just might hear some encouragement that will pick you up. emoticon

Carol= Sorry you had to make this tough decission. I'll be only going one day to DC. Hard to choose which day is most important.

Carl- I think putting the word out to the friends might be a great idea to show other ways to enjoy association that doesn't include food. Sorry to hear about that pinched nerve. Get well soon. emoticon

Well DH want my help outside so I'm off to enjoy the sun shine. Have a nice Day

Oh Carol...I SO understand...and am so sorry it has come to this for you. I am the go-for for a sister in my congregation. She has family living with her that do all the shopping stuff...but I am the one who delivers all her literature. She listens to every mtg...sometimes writes notes of appreciation or commendation to various ones commenting on their parts or experiences. She doesn't have MCS but is thoroughly disabled. I take her to a Dr. once a yr and it was me that brought her home from two bouts in rehab after hospital stays. She also has trouble getting the CDs of conventions. Perhaps you should write the Society and let them know of this wonderful provision NOT getting distributed for you obviously need it and you aren't getting it.

I have seen the after effects of exposures for my daughter...and it is frightening at times.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the nice tips. I think I will try the "Control portion" when invited out. I have been trying to be so stricked with my eating habits I feel that anything outside of that messes up my plan. (I guess I am a stickler like that) LOL. Plus that fact that the friends invite me out ALOT. Every now and thin is fine but every time I turn around there activities involve food and I think just inviting me for a walk, movie something else would be good. But I did go for a hike yesterday with a family from my hall and really enjoyed it. However, I did it with a pinched nerve that seemed to develop yesterday. (I guess I over did it in on of my exercise classes) But I am still planning on doing service today, I have been icing and taking motrin for it in hopes it will get better. I have to many duties in the congregation that I would hate for this to slow me down. I have never had this before and been doing a lot of reading on it, so I hope it will pass with rest, meds and ice.

Andee, I'm so sorry, hope you get better.

Asta, it was a chemical hit and so bad that dh pointed out today, that I was close to dieing from it. Have had so many hits the last couple of weeks, I won't be better for months to come. We have decided that in order to be humble and respect the bodies we have, that we can't do any more SAD's, DC's or CA's again. I am also going to have to give up going into the Hall so will have my air purifiers and books brought out to me.

We did some research on the internet today while looking for gas masks that was a real eye opener. I'll post it on the health thread we have. They give permission to print and distribute it. It's a decision I have been fighting for a long, long time but after reading about the brain damage and permanent damage to your heart etc. it's something I have to do if I want to be able to fight what is coming. We won't even be able to go to the Valley next month for the Memorial. Tomorrow, I'll just write to the family. Sunday, we can go to the one here and stay outside like we have been doing.

It really hurts that we have to give up these 3 venue's but it's more important to be able to keep functioning. We are even thinking of having our dil do our grocery shopping for us. We are still waiting for last years DC cd. Have asked 5 or 6 times for it and still can't get it. Would have loved to have it for tomorrow while everyone is at the SAD but it is what it is.

Hope everyone has a great week end.

Hi Y'all emoticon

Sorta disappeared from SP the last couple of days. emoticon Things aren't going too well for me right now. Mobility is down ~ Pain is up ~ Doc took x-rays, ordered a slew of tests, and set up appts with ortho as well as reminded me my kidney doc is due to visit too! Today's recommendation is that I stay off my bad leg over the weekend and see what the PT assessment Monday tells us about mobility & activity.

I know I've overdone it, even though I was trying not to, but there's SO MUCH to get done. emoticon

It's our turn to clean the hall tomorrow.
Our Special Assembly Day is coming up a week from tomorrow.
The "family" house has to be emptied in exactly 5 weeks.
My son will return home in 7 weeks... for 9 weeks
12 weeks til our DC.
20 weeks til our next CA.

I've missed 2 days here - only managed to login just so I wouldn't break that streak. But broke my Rise'n'Shine streak and logging food & exercise & other goals. Still mulling over trying to fill those in or just keep it blank. Feeling down over what I've failed to do and what I am not currently able to do.............again.

emoticon emoticon just wanted to let some friends know.
I'm sure things will improve soon.

Hi Everyone,

I took longer than normal for my workout this morning. I went to an appointment with my Sister yesterday and We stopped by a health food store and I picked up a few items and we went out to eat. It was fun to check out a Good will store on the way home. Found a purse that will work great as a book back. Right now I use a back pack on wheels to take everything in and out at meetings. I always have to carry a throw blanket with me if I get to cold. So I'm trying to down size a little. Also taking time to catch up with everyone this week.

Got a hair cut this morning and it's almost as short as DH's. But oh well! it grows back. Now where is that hair dye. DH is out cutting wood so I had time to catch up with the group.

Cina- Way to go on those workouts this week. Hope DS is feeling better. By the way you could send some of that heat our way. WI has been cold and damp here lately.

Book- I'm getting antsy about planting my self. A bit to early yet for us. That's so awesome that you and DH are AP this month. How exciting that your going on that cruise. That experience was awesome.

Health- glad you had a nice time with all those sisters.

Only- Sorry to hear of your challenges this week. Hope your car gets fixed fast and you recoup fast.

Carl- Welcome to the group. It's hard when we have been brought up to so love through food.
Perhaps sometimes you can use portion control and still enjoy visiting with the friends. Sometimes it doesn't have to be all or nothing unless a person has health issues. Perhaps you could bring a dish to the meal that healthy and share it with everyone else. Good for you in taking that class in spite of being the only guy in class. Have a nice day out in service.

Steadfast- Awesome that you were able to share that brochure.

Lyn- Thanks for sharing your experience in Service. I could picture myself there with you.

Laurie- That so cool that you could stay awake for your meeting.

Have a nice weekend everyone
Sharon

Happy Friday everyone! I'm so glad its the weekend. Today I do zumba at lunch (I actually enjoy that class) I am the only guy in the class and at first I was nervous of doing it but now I love it and I make all the lady's laugh! HA HA. After work I plan on going for a two hour hike with a couple from my hall so I will get lots of cardio today. Tomorrow is my long service day so looking forward to that, then hopefully I will be able to start on a talk I have in a couple of weeks. (I'm getting better at not waiting until the last minute to prepare!)

Subject: Witnessing at West, TX after the fertilizer plant explosion

Dear friends,

It's nice to write many of you after a while. I thought I'd share this experience with you. As many of you know, I'm an elder in the Northcrest congregation in Waco . Dee Dee and I have been the re since it was formed. The town of West is in our territory. West is a predominantly Catholic-based Czechoslovakian-American community and it has always been very difficult to find any interest there. They are a friendly people but very tight-knit and under the thumb of the local priests.
On Wednesday evening, a massive fire broke out at the fertilizer plant. The local volunteer fire dept. responded and fought the blaze as best the y could, when all of a sudden one of two ammonia tanks exploded. A giant mushroom cloud could be seen for miles as if an atomic bomb had exploded. The concussion blast was enormous. Homes in the immediate area caught on fire. Many others for a one mile radius of the site collapsed, imploded or had windows and doors blown out. To date, it is believed 17 people lost the ir lives and over 200 were injured. Five of those who died were the brave volunteer fire-fighters who rushed to the original fire, buying time so that a nearby home for old people could be evacuated.
In our congregation, one of our elders is a paramedic, one ministerial servant an emergency medical technician, and another ministerial servant (my nephew) an employee of the local electric power line company. All were called to the scene and stayed the re for two days without much sleep. Due to the explosion, half the town is gone. On Thursday, our Circuit Overseer received a call from the Branch office asking us to make special arrangements for witnessing in this town. They advised us not to take any literature except the Suffering tract. However, we didn't have any. We were advised to call on the homes that we could and just listen, offer hope, and if we did use the Bible, don't debate doctrinal points but use James 1:13.
Here is where the story takes a turn. On Friday, I noticed on the news that an apostate group planned to picket, or demonstrate the funerals of those who lost their lives in the blast. This is a radical Baptist religion that regularly demonstrates at funerals to get exposure. They planned on telling the people of West that the explosion was God's anger and the y needed to change their lives to make God happy. But Jehovah was faster. The scripture that the Branch office asked us to use, James 1:13 says just the opposite: "When under trial, let no one say: 'I am being tried by God.' For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone."
I have to admit, before this situation, I was so frustrated when I had to preach in West. I felt like Jonah. (Jonah 4:9-11) But friends, when the faithful slave says things can change overnight, believe them. I now feel so ashamed of myself. Today, we preached in this poor town with the message and scripture that the Branch suggested, and the attitude of almost the whole town has changed. These poor people are as Jesus said - skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd. Almost everyone in town wanted to talk. Everyone there either had someone they lost or someone who was injured or lost their home or was turned out of their home for safety. We received so much gratitude for just caring and listening. Of course, all praise goes to Jehovah. One woman said, "Thank you for just caring."
Truly, Jehovah knows exactly how to handle disastrous situations. It is our hope this apostate group doesn't show up. But if they do, it is our hope that the townspeople will remember what was shared with them and be able to tell them, "You are wrong. Jehovah's Witnesses have already shown us the truth."

emoticon everyone! Today I tried an experiment. I took my NuVigil (the pill that helps me stay awake) this morning as usual AND at 5 o'clock. I was awake for the whole meeting! Let's see what I can do for the special talk this weekend and for the DC in July. Hmm.

"hit" as in chemical exposure? So sorry if that is the case. Hope you don't mean the car was hit on the way home from the dealership. Either way...sorry you are having troubles~

I love seeing the deer and all forms of wild life.

Had car trouble today and the dealership was going to take us home. Took a split second after opening the car door to get a serious hit. Had to have our son come and get us. It may have cancelled out any hope of going to the SAD Saturday.

Cinamin, hope Jacob can shake this stuff.

Have a great night everyone.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Lyn, we know they are here in the woods around us...but we don't see them as often as we used to...I am sure because of all the construction that continues around our farm. We have wild turkeys come through also...they come in the morning about the time I let the chickens out...and various ones pass through all day. The deer are much more elusive. My son was hunting from a deer stand all during deer season (ACK!) but he never 'got' one...just lots of photos when they came during the night time hours. The wild rabbits are so tame that they even come up on the porch and look in the back door...they are cautious, but not overly fearful of us and they too are out and about in the yard all day. We have five resident crows...ass't other wildlife and lots of birds. AND, of course, the chickens, our dog, son's two dogs and DIL's cats...the younger one is trying to hunt up here. Not welcome. (Son and family live next door)

Asta...when out in fs this morning, someone was saying how much they loved Jehovah's variety of wildlife, and in less than a second we saw several deer grazing in a front yard.
What a wonderful gift...how wonderful for you to see them in your own backyard! WOW!!!

It is dark outside right now, but just a little while ago I had the privilege of watching seven deer work their way across my yard in the dusk. I love watching Jehovah's creations.

Hi everyone...it's so nice to read your posts...even tho' I may not comment too much, I do love reading about your days and experiences.
I had a fabulous morning in fs today. A dear pioneer has moved into our cong...and I had the privilege of working with her for 3 hrs. She is older than I and so spry and sharp. On top of that, it was sunny and warm...short sleeve weather. At last! emoticon
I have been enjoying working in my garden this past week....it's supposed to rain in a day or so, so I am getting as much done as possible. I sure know I was meant for the earth, I just love getting my hands dirty. emoticon
I am starting to get a little excited...my DD and I will be going on our Alaskan cruise in a couple weeks. emoticon
Take care dear ones....

Carl, emoticon to the team. It's nice to have more Brothers join the team!

Laurie, It is so nice to see you! I have missed you! Glad to hear about your AP'ing and that Ginnie is doing well. Nice that you have another study too!

Asta, Great news on DH getting his hours and with only 2 to go for you, I am sure you will make it!

Don, Sorry about the pain still. Can't wait to see more pictures of the KH build.

Carol. emoticon

Jacob is STILL sick! It seems like when someone in my family gets sick, we hang on to it for along time. I don't think he is going to make his hours this month. He starts RP next month. I have taken him to the doctor 3 times. He is on his second round of antibiotics. His cough has gotten progressively worse. He has cough medicine and I still give him the allergy med before bedtime. He is drinking hot tea with honey 3 times a day and gargling with salt water 2 times a day. I hope this cough leaves soon. I need help getting the yard work done! (and I don't like him being sick)

Next weekend he goes to the dentist to get all 4 of his wisdom teeth pulled. One is in sideways! OUCH! They are going to put him out for it. One Sister said that when they put her out, she healed faster than when they just numbed her face and gave her pain meds. I hope that's true for Jacob as well.

I just did my workout. It's a little past 4 pm. Since Monday, I have been getting up around 6:30 am and getting my workout done. I have all day to get "work" done. I am planning on getting as much yard work done as I can before dusk. I don't want the bugs eating me. I had better get out there! We are supposed to be in the 90's by Sunday. We barely got to 65 today. So, today is a good day to get it done.

Carl, that must be an confusing issue...too bad you must turn down invitations to associate and enjoy meals together to protect your eating choices!!! maybe as you get closer to goal and maintenance, you can develop the ability to choose wisely from any menu offered...and limit portion sizes, but still be able to join the Friends. Wonderful that they are inclusive of single brothers!

Laurie, love hearing all your good news. Don't fret about what you can't do anything about...it is wasted energy...but DO keep your mind active...that does help combate alzheimers and dementia.

DH has made his aux hrs. I have two to go! Am invited to an informal Karen Language class on Saturday. Young couple who DO speak Karen are visiting for a week and looking to move...if Jehovah agrees with their desire to come serve here.

RE: folks trying to set up single ones with potential mates...our CO is a widower. At our recent circuit assembly the first part of his talk regarding the needs of the circuit, he explained how this has been happening to him. Then he said he is not married, doesn't plan to get married and doesn't want to be married....finding HIM a spouse is NOT one of the needs of the circuit. I thought he handled it so well, with patience and humor..but still got the point across very clearly!

Hello everyone! I have been reading posts (listening) but not joining in as much (commenting). Not sure why. But I have been thinking about all of you and all in my congregation. Carol, you are so right that, even though the pain is "only temporary", it still hurts to find out about someone you love in pain. We have a sister with advanced Alzheimer's in our congregation who fell recently (she is also nearly blind) and broke her nose severely. It scares me because I had two relatives die from Alzheimer's and I never saw "the bad stuff". Now that I am and I see/hear about things that are going on in this team, or think of my own situation, I can get down.

But I do have good news to share. Yesterday out in fs I got a call using one of the new brochures. The "Good News" one! I am AP in May again, as well. I might do this month to month because, unlike March, I haven't made 50 yet. Some exciting news though! We are having a Bethel speaker visit our congregation this weekend to deliver a talk on Saturday and give the talk on Sunday as well. You can bet that field service will be up for this girl! Then Saturday evening we are having a get together here and Sunday is Ginnie's study. Oh yeah, and Friday is Tiffany's (the 10 year old). Ok now that I am "up" I better get "going" HUGS all!

Hello all,

Had a great meeting last night. Really enjoyed the CBS regarding singleness as I am single. I don't hear the 'Are you looking to get married' question often, but hear it from time to time so that was good reminders. (I guess the more I slim down the more I will be asked that! J/K)

I'm really trying hard to stick to a healthy eating style, but it's hard because the friends seems to love inviting me out. I accept sometimes because I don't want to seem like a stickler. But I am really trying to stick to a good plan so have to decline from time to time. I know they mean well, but I just wish they would just understand the internal struggle I at times have. I use to try to explain that I'm trying to eat healthy but that seems to fall on death ears so now I just say no with no explanation. lol

Don, sorry you are still having problems. My dh has had the sciatic issues since he blew out a disk in 07. We really need the new system. Am looking forward to the pics.

Carl, it's great you can go to a gym on your lunch breaks. I had to give up going due to all the chemical issues there.

Found out last night we have lost one of our dear sisters from Zimbabwe. She had Alzheimer's for a year or so. I thought something was wrong as she wasn't answering and was missing from a lot of meetings. Sitting where I do, I never get to know any of the news, good or bad and that stinks. Can't read anything on the bulletin board either so never know what's new that isn't read. Found out last night it will still be a while if ever. Went in to check for literature and even though I had my face covered, I was staggering when I went out. Was inside less than 2 min.

Found out today due to some cards I sent out a couple of weeks ago that another dear friend and Sister had died on the 6th emoticon

Our SAD is Saturday. Still haven't gotten to have the DC's CD from last year so still don't have the new light from it. Probably won't get to go at all this year. There are only 2 besides the Spanish one and being in August, it makes it so we can't break it up plus we can't use the bathrooms any more, inside or out emoticon Remember Carol 'it's only temporary!' emoticon

Hi all, I will have more pics of our Hall build blogged soon! The exterior is almost complete and the tiling and painting inside was done the last 3 days.
I have been a little depressed because of the limited activity due to the sciatic I aggravated. I believe it is improving, I do however have some nerve damage as the inside above my knee down to mid calf is numb. So exercise wise I have held back, eating healthy though and maintaining my weight.
Welcome Carl!
Hello to all and will be more active here once the dust settles from the build and C/A are done.

Still stressed with too much on the home front. Losing is stuck in a plateau. And I think I'm headed back to PT soon... dr appt Friday to find out. My joints can't handle using 2 canes for long and I've needed that for over a month now so a lot of stuff is "giving out" now.

Trying to catch up on reading here... y'all get chatty, that's for sure; but that's nice too! emoticon

Had a great weekend. In FS on Saturday we met up with NH after NH but the last two doors we were able to talk to actual people and had nice conversations so it was worth it. Sometimes we just have to hang in there and Jehovah will bless our efforts. Thoroughly enjoyed the WT on Sunday. Our condutor did a great job and congregation gave lots of good comments.
Had a few sisters over for dinner Saturday night to get to know them better and to my surprise realized one of the sisters was someone I knew long ago when we were both teenagers. She'd left the truth for many years but has returned and is doing well. Really happy about that.
After such a good weekend, I don't even mind the crummy weather today. ........ well not too much.

Have a lovely Monday everyone! emoticon

Wow..sounds like some good stuff going on here. Paul..I am so happy you are losing the "fluffy" stuff so successfully. Hope you will soon be "No more fluffy!"

BEAUTIFUL day here today. DH helped the non-JW son of one of our sisters install a new front door. Hope it was a good witness. I did a round of errand running. DH is probably planting all the tomato plants...I need to start hauling my over-wintered pots out on to the porches. Don't want them sunburned but they have to start getting aclimatized. Hope the silly chickens will stay out of them...they have just begun laying and are leaving eggs all over the place!!

Paul, I like your new name! That is great!!! I changed my name after I had lost a lot of weight (for the second time) Here I go again!

Carol, I am happy that you made it home safely. Thank you for the card. It made my whole weekend!

Asta, I know that slow and steady is the best way to go. Thank you for the reminder!

Heidi, I hope you are up and around soon without too much pain.

Laurie, It's nice to see you popping in!

Sharon, A whole pound over the weekend is fantastic!! Congrats.

I started "Insanity" again this morning. I had to wake Jacob up at 6 am so he could get ready for his long day in the Ministry. Normally, I would be back to sleep within a few minutes, but I told myself if I was still awake at 6:30 that I would get up and do my workout. So, I got up and did it.

I set my alarm for 6:30 am every day. I plan on getting up and getting my workout done before taking Thomas to school. I have all day to get actual work done. At first, I was planning on taking a nap, but after my shower and breakfast, I am ready to go. I have already been able to tackle a lot and it's not even noon yet.

I went to the cong. picnic on Saturday. It was a pass along text invite. There were 2 different cong invited. There was about 40 people that showed up. Jacob and Thomas played football. Thomas with smaller kids and Jacob with teenagers. I wanted to go and play with them, but I would have been the oldest "kid" playing so I didn't join. I didn't want to ruin it for anyone else. But, I was dressed to play. I wore sneakers instead of sandals. Plans don't always work out. I was able to catch up with a few Sisters that I haven't seen since they switched cong. So that was nice.

I took a really big salad and some fruit. The fruit was gone within a few minutes. I had taken the tops off the strawberries and cleaned them really well. I had taken honey oranges and some green grapes. I cut the grapes so they would be small bunches and I peeled the oranges and took the seeds out.

I need to get back to work.

Have a wonderful day!

Missed my assembly day because people I planed to ride with couldn't make it. After my trip up by Mom and doing some paper work for her I was a bit brain dead as to who to call for a ride. My hope is that we can find a different day to get it in.
Had visit from Son and his family. Put some steps on that old pedometer this weekend chasing after them. Even lost a 1 lb as well.

Have a nice day.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Paul, I am so glad you are doing so well after all the pain. Conk's are really neat. Odd shapes and all sizes.

I added the 2 paintings that we brought back with us, to the photo page. She paints awesome pictures. We have 2 on saws, 4 large paintings and 2 or 3 on Conks she did for us. For those that don't know what a conk is, it's the funny growth a tree makes after it's been injured.

Hi, Sharon, Paul and Heidi Sue. It good to see you. Got home today and boy are we tired. Over 1,100 miles since Sunday morning. It was a great trip though and it's always a treat to get home to our own home and bed emoticon

Cinamin, You know that it is good to give your body at day between workouts. That is a good program. Don't over do it as you work your way back.

I am speaking by phone with a Certified Wellness Coach. Not sure whether we will work together or not...I probably need her, but don't know if I can afford her. My efforts ARE making progress, but as slower than a snail's pace. I am still trying to get my blood sugars back down. It will be interesting to see what Lisa suggests for me. I'll let you all know.

Asta, Thanks for sharing your Ministry with us.

Paul, I am so glad that you are in less pain. It's a good thing that the other tech left!!

I have started my journey on losing weight again today. I thought I was serious about it when I started going to the gym a few weeks ago. I still have some sinus issues, but I went to the gym anyway. I am planning on every other day until I can get my stamina up. I need to fit in my clothes again. I am not buying clothes that fit me now, since I don't want to be where I am right now. So, for the next few weeks, I will just be uncomfortable in my clothes. That way, I will have more motivation. I have a few dresses that I tried to wear in the past few weeks and I couldn't zip them up. In December, the same clothes were almost too big. I will get back to where I need to be!

Hugs to all!

Heidi I am so sorry to hear of your back trouble, I completely understand your situation.

As for me... determined I shall be.... to walk eternally... in my integrity... spiritually and PHYSICALLY!! I met with a new implant technician today, as the previous one has moved on. We talked for a bit about what's going on. He then proceeded to tell me that dramatic weight loss COULD be a factor as well as scar tissue a year later. He hooked me up wirelessly to his computer and downloaded all my stuff. He said let's find the "sweet" spot and find it we did!! A little tweak here a little adjustment there...... HALLELUJAH!!! The bad news is I am gonna be a little sore for a couple days from the nerves getting a jolt... the good news is IT WORKED!! It feels SO MUCH BETTER!! Jehovah continues to care for us all doesn't he?

Thanks HeidiSue. We looked up the info in the Reasoning book before I ever got out of the car. I used to carry around some updated info..I will have to find it again. I think it was a series in the KMs about the different religious groups.

SO sorry to hear of your back troubles. I know how hard it is to lose a full service day, too. emoticon

"...pain will be no more" doesn't that sound good! Torqued my back doing yardwork this weekend--one of those moves where you're telling yourself all the while "I really shouldn't be doing this, I could hurt myself" but you do it anyway. Real smart. Flat on my back today with new meds from the doc this AM. Shoulda known better--blew an 8-hour service day, too! Now that really hurts!
Asta, I had a magazine route and a couple Bible studies among the pleasant Gujarati speaking Indians. Hindus are generally welcoming of anything spiritual. They have millions of gods, literally, and don't mind adding another one to their list, although each person has his favorite god and guru. But its another thing to get them to accept Jehovah as the ONE true God. The Reasoning book has a good section on Hindus, and there is a great older brochure (1993) that explains their very strange beliefs "Why Should We Worship God with Love and Truth?" Its not online, but is in WT Library. Enjoy these lovely, humble folks.

It doesn't take the pain away, it helps you relax the areas of your body that are in pain so they aren't so tense which aggravates the pain. I had to learn it when I went to my Pain Management Classes at the Hospital.

Asta, that is wonderful! Way to go.

Today is better yet. Really tired though. Over 700 miles so far. Dh is so tired he went to bed around 7. He will rest here tomorrow while I go visit a dear friend in our old Cong. With all the driving, I still have in almost 5,000 steps for today alone. Using the pain pills the Dr. gave me 5 months ago to try and keep my body from going into spasms and so far, it is helping. Can't have anything tomorrow as I will be driving and have to be extra careful due to all the horrendous pollution in the air over here. Thousands of cars on top of everything else.

I have been avoiding the news but a Sister told me today about Boston and the 3 deaths with 149 injured. Many with concussion amputations. There is more and more terrorism here in this country too.

Got to pick out 2 beautiful paintings to take home that my dh's Aunt painted. I'll have to take pics of them and put them on the Team's photo page so you can see her work. She is in her 70's.

Had a lovely morning in field service. First Apt. complex we visited is home to many of the Karen speaking folks...so we took a few extra minutes to review how to say Hello and to work up an offer. No Karen answered, though. We did get a very nice lady who took the mags..but said she is not interested in the Bible...she is Buddist. Next door was Spanish lady..leaving for work. Next complex we visited...two guys came out of one of the apts to smoke..and we were sitting right there in the parking lot. DH worked the first three on his assignment and then came back to the car. We sat. he thought the guys on the porch were Arabic and I dug out my Arabic mags..but I said I think they are Indian..probably Hindi. We sat there so long I finally decided to try it and took the all languages booklet with me..just in case. They were so gracious...they ARE Indian but both speak English. I told them that while I knew they were not Bible readers, they face the same problems every one does and that the Bible offers good advice on how we can cope with things...like yesterdays mess in Boston and things like just getting along with our neighbors. I showed them the things about Jesus in the magazine...and said Jesus is our teacher and example..if we do things HIS way, we can be happy and confident. To my surprise, BOTH guys wanted a set of the mags. Got their names...now need to do some homework.

Happy to hear that some of you are on the mend.

Rather shocked (although I shouldn't be) by the recent events in Boston. I really hope none of our brothers and sisters or their loved ones were hurt in the explosion. Truly we are seeing Bible prophecy fulfilled to the last detail.

Have a safe day everyone. emoticon
