Shari, I definately am going to dance and run around like the proverbial young buck. I have never known what it was like to be healthy so I am going to revel in it all the more. Was born with a heart murmer and didn't ever think about whay it was I couldn't run etc as much as everyone else then developed this nasty FMS begining in my late teens early 20's but wasn't diagnosed till I was about 45.

I won't miss it at all you can be sure of that. When dh asks me if I can imaging doing this or that again, I have to say no I can't and remind him I never could. I can see from his growing up, I missed alot. I plan on making up for it though. I won't want to be sitting around when I can be moving and having fun working. That may sound stupid, but I think you fully understand what I mean.

Meanwhile, I am threading elastic in the waistbands of the skirts in between typing, posting and changing screens. If that itself isn't chomical emoticon emoticon I don't know what is.

Give your sweetie a hug and kiss. They just love Mommy time.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

"painless young bucks"! emoticon Yup, looking forward to that!!

Thank you for posting that link, Carol. I liked that it explains about why it's important not to judge someone w/ FMS, b/c even they themselves don't know what each day will hold. For me that's the most difficult, frustrating thing. I've had FMS for almost 20 years now and I don't even understand it myself and often have trouble predicting what I can and can not do. I don't expect others to be able to make any sense of it at all. They just have to trust that I'm doing what I can when I can.

Honestly, I think having FMS is turning me into a hypochondriac. There are so many weird symptoms and pains and even after all these years I'm never quite sure what's going on. The other day I told my husband, "you know your a hypochondriac if you're scared you may be having a heart attack, breast cancer, and a brain anyurism all in the same day!" emoticon

Well, one thing I do know for sure is that I'm stuck home today with a sick little girl. She just has a cold but she's milking it for all it's worth and won't let me leave her side! So, we're keeping it cozy and quiet today.....ok by me!

I hope you're all having a great Wednesday!

Wow, I've just completed reading the symptoms for FMS. It impresses me even more considering how much you all do for Jehovah, now that I know how much agony you are in pretty much all day. I suffer from bad knees (op that went wrong) and on a bad day I am in agony and that's just one area. I can't imagine what it must feel like for that pain to be everywhere.
You are all going to run about like painless young bucks when the new system gets here. Looking forward to that huh?

Naomi, you make me tired just reading it. Take care and enjoy the Meeting.

Janine, Celeste', Ingrid, Marie, Honey and everyone else, it's great to see the posts.

For info on Fibromyalgia, someone on my FMS Team posted this link. It describes completely what it does to us as well as what happens, that it has been around since 1815, the Research that's going on as well as 5 or 6 links to other informative sites.

Popping in to say a quick stay warm hello before my nap. I am so tired because it is cold, plus I have been drinking a gallon of water for the past two days and get up often during the night. So take care and continue to grow in friendship.

Honey ~ I'm doing the bootcamp in January also. C25K is called Couch to 5K. It is a nine week program to get you jogging/running 30 minutes straight. They consider that a 5K but I don't think I will be running 6mph. It's found at www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181
.s
html
. There is also a team for it too that is really encouraging for it.

Oregon ~ I didn't know it showed the words to the songs. My computer doesn't. I'll have to investigate more to check it out.

Jadzea ~ I just figured out your name was Carol. I did not know that. emoticon

Well I am off to get ready to go to the dump with 5 kids, then make breakfast for my fil, then to story time, then to finish my livig rooms, then to take the kids to my mil, then to take my fil to dialysis, then to cook dinner, then to get us all ready for meeting, then to meeting, then well I'm sure you get the point.

Gail, that's great about Abby, tell her I'm proud of her for doing so well and to keep up the great job.

Naomi, yes, there are CD's not just the one from the Assembly but ones with all the songs on it. We still don't have any at all at our Hall.

Dee, glad you enjoyed it.

Janine, I too love that one. We downloaded it as soon as they put it up for us and have been listening to it in the car, on our computers and at night in bed. Some night's, I have it on loop and it will play all night long. Still need to put the music to the song book though.

Linda, good to see you. Hope you find what you need to get you going. Thanks about the CD's, we'll get to practicing. This is our 3rd song book.

Have a great night everyone. Have had a great day. Part is posted on my blog, the rest is we got our Service Letters out today and I have a pile of addresses to try and get names for.

Yes, the new music CDs are by piano--I am in the process of downloading it. The other CD is vocals, part 1 (guess that means we will get another vocals CD). When I installed it to my computer, I was happy to be able to see the words as well as hear them.
When you download the piano version, I am also able to See the words as it plays. That helps in learning them.

It will be very exciting to sing these beautiful new songs of praise together in unity with the multitudes of others at our next assembly...

Starting this Sunday our meetings will be at 10:00 instead of 4:00. It will definitely be an adjustment; esp for families. But we will soon get used to it again. I did like the 4:00 because it gave me a chance to review my WT again (or finish it) and not have to rush my mornings...

Hey everyone. It is so cold here today. Lots of sunshine but cold for this warm blooded mammal. Naomi, what's C25K ? I'm desperately seeking SOMETHING that will stir up my motivation. Has anyone ever seen the movie Wall-e? If so you know what I'm referring to when I say that I am beginning to look and feel like the earth people after years of living in outer space. I've joined the boot camp challenge hoping it'll help me. I hope so.

Oh Celeste, I just loved that lesson also! I can't begin to tell you all how comforting it was to me. One sister commented on the scripture at 2Cor 6:12,13. Paul said "I speak as to children" when telling the Corinthians to widen out. This shows that failure to widen out is an indication of spiritual immaturity.
I didn't notice those things in the picture either, Shari. But you know, I don't really notice those things when I'm visiting someone either. Unless there is something really out of the ordinary like some unusual design or a serious lack of cleanliness, I'm just clueless.

Carol, Yes the downloaded piano music is exactly the same as the CDs so practice away! The brothers could even download it to use for the meetings. I missed the announcement about the CDs being cancelled, but it really is more cost effective to download them directly from the internet.
Since we missed our SAD, we are looking for another to attend. We usually attend with our son in Houston also, but I'm afraid that it will fall on one of the days for our 2 day this time. DS keeps forgetting to find out the exact date. Our SAD is usually in fall or winter and our 2 day is in the spring and his is just the opposite.

Janine glad to have you have you back . I too am trying to get my act together. I joined the boot camp challenge hoping to get some motivation there. We shall see. Aren't the new songs just beautiful? I admit that there are a few of my favorites from the Ssb that I will miss, but there is a continuity in that I have seen 4 songbooks in my time in the truth and there is at least one that has been in all 4 with some modifications. Thankfully the songs for Sunday's WT are both ones we're familiar with, although this time I will have to follow along in the book because some of the wording is different. I too was brought up in the truth. In the early days of our marriage, my DH couldn't understand how I could be so trusting and I could not understand why he was so suspicious. Knowing more about the world he grew up in helps me to understand him better

{{HUGS}} Linda. Jehovah's heart certainly swells with love and pride when he sees your endurance. Mine does too. I've never celebrated the holidays but even I can see from movies, television, and even news stories that tug at the heart strings this time of year that it must take an emotional toll on those who have fond memories associated with it.

Love and kisses to Gail, Tomara, Marie, Terriber, Janene, Dee and all the rest of my beautiful sisters out there in in Spark Land.

Thank you Sisters for your encouraging thoughts on the WT. We just had our family study and the kids were eating up the funny, but actual stories my hubby was telling about honesty. It is so amazing how we as Jehovah's people are taught about honesty, but other people, they don't even know what honesty is. It is amazing how dishonest this system of things has gotten. I really try to drive home how untrustworthy people can be to my kids. It is hard for me a 33 yrs old adult to see the dishonesty. I was raised a Witness and am applaud at how bad things are. I can't wait for the new system.

The new song book is a true blessing. We just got our CD's in as well as the other items for 2010. I am in another world listening to the Rendition CD (the one with singing on it). So wonderful to have words to express how we feel and how we long for Jah to step in. We can actually sing these songs with feeling and maybe even lots of tears.

May Jah be with each and every one of you and your families.

Agape,
Janine

Are we going to be getting CD's? It is just piano music to for the download. You can also download ones with actual singing on it also. I haven't done that one yet.
The reason I ask about the CD's is because there was an announcement that they will be canceling the WT and Awake on CD. It will only be available to download.

Hi Everyone! It was a Great WT this past week! I appreciate the comments here about it and thought of those when at the meeting.

We're a little displaced right now since we're not at our KH but I'm taking by new songbook to the meetings from now on. I'll be with the group that's learning them as we go.

Today is a mini go to work day here as well as try to get my Abigail to knock out some school work before the semester is officially over. I'd hate to see her mess up her grades because she gets some zero's for not finishing some assignments. (I'm excited to see her working! She's pretty sharp, has a 93% average when averaging the 5 classes she's taking so far!)

I'm off to try to use my quick tracker for the first time today, maybe that will motivate me. Haven't used that before and the regular nutrition tracker seems to take too much time for me to sit and fill out. We'll see.

Love to all!

emoticon

Celeste', it was fantastic, the whole meeting. His comment was a great one too. Really makes you think.

Janine, that's great that your daughter is learning them too. Our Cong., still doesn't have any of the Musci CD's in yet.

Linda, what will be your new meeting time? We would like to practice but not sure if the download music will be exactly the same as the CD's. The one is in piano only so it doesn't always have the same sound for stringing out if you know what I mean. Does anyone have the CD's? If so, are they just piano music?

I too really liked the WT Study. Maybe we can find someone that wouldn't mind not coming with clothes on that have all the chemicals and washing off everything first. Ugh, maybe I'll forget it. With dh's immune system the way it is, he is half sick most of the time anyway and can't be around anyone.

I didn't get the letter as I had to turn around and leave right after I went in. Thanks for the heads up.

Good evening sisters. So exciting that we will be using our new song book in 1 week (or less depending on your schedule). We had an announcement today that we received a letter from the society to bring our new songbook to the Bible Study/TMS/Service Meeting this week. Did you hear that? Ours is on Tuesday. Our Sunday meeting will get changed to 4:00. Thank goodness I will have time for a nap before meeting. I'm so tired on Sundays.
My son downloaded the entire songbook onto his MP3 so that he can listen to it. Definitely need to practice before going to meeting to sing.

We enjoyed the WT also, and I especially appreciated the point about "building" friendships: to build something takes awhile and it takes actual work. There is also maintenance involved. Someone in our congregation brought out that we all have our role in the congregation, something to contribute, no matter how humble our offering. But the point is to offer it. I commented on the picture of the sisters enjoying some tea, the home is very humble, the cups don't match, the chairs don't match. This is telling us that we don't have to wait until we have a nice tea set, matching dinnerware, or fancy food to offer. A humble offering is much more comfortable for most people anyway. But there were many encouraging points in the article besides that, of course. Much to think about.

Wow Linda that is a tough one. But you are most definitely not the only one who has given up family for Jehovah. Your love and faith has already been tested and you passed.
I hope the brothers and sisters and children in your congregation have taken you into their hearts because of the trade off you had to make.
We have an elderly sister in our congregation with the same problem. She had 2 strokes, didn't know her family, how to cook, or do anything she used to. In that time period she learned the truth and came to love the promised paradise and the god that would make it happen. We have enveloped her and take her everywhere with us.

Good Morning Janine, Thanks for the enthusiastic message. Yes, the WT for today is really good. It especially touched my heart because I live alone, with health issues, my family turned their back on me when I was baptized. Even my daughters are very "distant". I really need the association and fellowship of my spiritual family.

Glad to see that your little girl is enjoying the new songs. Keep making the Truth exciting for her.

Have a good Sunday. Next week we go to a new time for meeting. And we start our new songs. WT for next week will use song 67 and 13. Are you ready for that?
It has been suggested that we practice these new songs during our weekly FWE...By the time our first assembly of the year comes, we will all be ready to sing these beautiful songs of praise to Jehovah in unity around the world. I feel excited about that.

Hugs to all

Linda

Good Morning Everyone,

I enjoyed studying the WT last night, but haven't had my meeting yet. I was listening to the new Kingdom Melodies as well. I was singing along and my daughter came up to join in. She is so excited about the new songs (she is 6 yrs. old).

Enjoy the day,
Janine

Wasn't todays watchtower study just too wonderful?!
A brother visiting from Bethel answered that friendship is a gift from Jehovah and that Jehovah views wholesome friendships as a good thing. Therefore, in Proverbs 3:27 when Jehovah says "Do not hold back good from those to whom it is owing, when it happens to be in the power of your hand to do it", he means that we MUST form wholesome friendships with each other. To consider ourselves "loners" would disappoint Jehovah and he is our first, most loyal, best friend...and what kind of friend would be to Jehovah then?

I loved that point. Friendships are beautiful when treated right. We don't need money or fancy goods to have friends. We just need to Take the initiative, Widen out in our affections and Be loyal.

Linda P, that makes much more sense. Thanks for clarifying it.

Janene, it's so good to see you again. I hope we get to see a lot more of you.

Linda S, we are so fortunate we aren't getting it too.

Naomi, good to see you too. Hope you find the key soon.

Good afternoon to all. Just barely afternoon where I am. I did not go in service today due to having to help my brother in law move out of his place. He is leaving for Mexico later today and is paying my husband and I to finish cleaning up the outside. My plan is to go tomorrow before meeting. I have unofficially started the C25K program. I'm officially starting in January. I love it.

Gail ~ too bad about the plumbing. I remember when we first moved into our kingdom hall, my son was then about 2. He clogged the toilet and made the women's restroom flood during meeting. That was embarassing, being new and all.

Honey ~ My mom has given plenty of burnt offerings to my dad. I can never go on the computer when I am cooking because I always forget.

Linda ~ It's hard but how thankful you must be that Jehovah has helped you all these years.

Hello and a big shout out to everyone else.

Hope some of you have sunshine today. To all the others with clouds and fog, including myself, remember that it is only temporary and the sun will come through......eventually.

Have a plan and you will succeed.

Naomi

Good Morning Everyone--it is still morning here. I don't know if this is where to put my message or not. But here I am.

I am SO glad that yesterday is OVER for at least another year! I hate the way the "season" makes me feel even after all these years; and Dec. 25 is the worst. Giving it all up was the hardest thing I had to do because it cost me the love and respect of my entire family; including my daughters. It should be easier by now; but Satan made it hard 40 years ago, and I guess he is still doing it to me now. It's like having a broken toe that heals but when stepped on or bumped the pain is there again for awhile. I think Satan steps on my toes every christmas season. Every day after I thank Jehovah for helping me get through the day once again. Spent the day listening to new songs and then went to friends to study WT for this week.

I hope that all of you are well today. Some of you who may be in the "blizzard" parts of the country... They said this morning that some of you got 37 inches of snow with maybe more on the way. Wow! My thoughts are with you today. Have a good day friends...Be safe and Be well.

Linda

Hello Ladies,

Trying to get back in the swing of things. Keeping busy and being distracted by everything. I was told I was missed and felt I need to really get my act together. How is everyone doing?

Hi everyone,
Spanish class was cancelled for today and we didn't get the news until last night so I didn't make any plans for service. Trying to convince DH that we should take the time to do some intensive studying and try and catch up to the rest of the class but he's not taking to the notion. He wants an elaborate brunch AND dinner. I usually only cook once a day. Oh well, can't stay and chat because I'll forget I have something in the oven and will be treating DH like a God by giving him burnt offerings. I've done that a time or 2. emoticon Hey there Tomara! I did get your Spark Mail, and was in the process of answering when somehow it disappeared! Decided to try again later and then forgot. emoticon So sorry, but glad to see you here.
Oh, I made a mistake when I typed the number that attended Sunday in Mexico city. It was 114,000 not 11400.

Gail, that could be bad. Too bad they can't run a camera down it first to see what the problem is. That's what the Cities do when they are checking the sewer lines.

Yeah! For you Tomara! Nice to meet you! Hi Everyone! I need to join a club too lol!

We're making some homemade almond butter as I type, I'll be curious as to how it turns out. I think I overtoasted the almonds a little, but it should be alright.

Maybe we'll go play a Wii game in a bit. I need a little "exercise".

By the way, our meeting was canceled last night because of.......messed up plumbing! It messed up on Sunday, plumbers tried to fix it then, Mon, and Tues to no avail. Wonder what's so bad that they can't fix it. Sounds like they may have to dig up the driveway! It's only barely 5 years old. Bummer.

Hope you all are doing okay. Take care and exercise and eat right as good as possible!

Love, Gail

Gail

Linda, I have heard from others about the Mexico convention--two sisters from my hall were there and kept me posted the whole time. It sounded just absolutely wonderful!

Hi everyone...if you don't know me, I'm not surprised. I've been terrible getting my act together and staying with the program, but today I joined an Athletic Club so that I will hopefully get a jump start on my program! I hope to be getting to know all of you a lot better!

Have a great rest of your week!--Tomara

Celeste, at least you got to really enjoy all that Spiritual food even if it wasn't that International one.

Marie, hope you get better real soon and stay that way. It's a toss up as to what you should do about his drinking and baptism. It can be very touchy. The Brother needs to know but it could boomerang back onto you.

Honey, I think you hit it right on. How awesome, all the joy, love and association. We got to go to the last International Assembly in 1973. There weren't to be any more for some time. We were new in the Truth and it was such a wonderful experience. It was held in Vancouver, BC.

Linda, your right, we always want to hear the experiences.

Good to see everyone posting. Hope everyone is getting rested up from the busy weekend at Conventions.

I had such a fabulous day today at a beach called Santos in Mossel Bay listening to my sons first gig. They played on the beach front on a platform built over the crowds. It was fantastic. Not only were they playing really great music, but they had a game of rugby and food stalls all over, boating, ski jets and even a new thing...a giant ball that you can walk on water with...weird but it must feel fantastic walking on water?!!
Just wanted to pop in and say hi, I still want to go and create a blog.

Hi everyone,
Back from the convention and a long weekend in Houston because of not being able to get a flight back home. Holiday travelers. Caused me to miss our SAD Sunday. I'm not caught up here at all but I did read your question Marie. I think you should by all means speak to the brother. Make certain that he knows the conversation is confidencial and he should not mention it to your DH. The brother can then focus on points in the study that address this weakness. While a desire to get baptised is wonderful, you want his faith to be built of "fire resistant materials" so that once he's in the truth he'll stay there!

On another note, the convention in Mexico was outstanding! Financial considerations aside, i think everyone should try to attend at least one international convention. Attending for us was as impractical a finacial decision as they come, but the spiritual bounty was oh so worth it! My eyes are burning as I blink back tears thinking of the warmth and hospitality of the brothers and sisters in Mexico. Not to mention our 'congregation', consisting of brothers and sisters from all over the U.S. who were our traveling companions on bus #24. I think I sent some of you PCs and told you about the 11400 in attendance on Sunday. There were also 1003 baptised on Saturdy. And guess what? That is not the end. This weekend they are expecting at least 100,000 more in the same stadium. Jehovah is certainly stretching out the tent cords as this old system winds down. (Isa. 54:2)

emoticon Hello my Sisters.....

I have been sick AGAIN. Pretty tired of this snotty business. I just didn't feel like doing anything.
It started after going to the two day assembly.
I guess I hugged someone and got a bug.
But the assembly was wonderful. I agree about the FWN
being brought to our attention throughout the weekend. It is hard when my hubby just is not that into it yet. TV controls his mind. But he did ask his teacher what will it take for him to get baptised. emoticon I still thinks he drinkd too much.
Let me ask you all...Should I say anything to the brother? Or keep my mouth shut and let Jehovah direct the decsion? If he ever found out that I said anything I think he would be crushed and very angry.
Please give me opinions.

emoticon I shopped at Krogers last weekend and they had sweet potato pie for $ 1.99. MMMMMM good.
I took one to my dads and they enjoyed it. My sister from Kentucky and hubby came in for a few days. They are both teachers and had the time off. Just found out my other sister lost her job in October. I am the oldest in the family and I still worry about them. Even though they are in their forties. I hope that they can find Jehovah before this system ends.
emoticon
Celeste...I am happy for you and your wonderful weekend. Hug our new brother for us. Don't forget to send me the blog of your s on children?

Shari.. I enjoy hearing about your experiences. Sounds like Riley and Marina are full love for Jehovah and wanting to do all what they can in finding sheep in the schools. Wonderful. Hugs.

Carol.. we have had our first snow and I do not look forward to many more months of snow ahead. Thanks for the mail. Love you

Gail... Hang in there school will get easier as time goes on. emoticon
Naomi.. Thanks for your sharing. You are encouraging.

Dee.. You will be missed but your FS mind makes my heart warm. Hugs

Janene.. Miss you. Hope the weekend you went to moms was fun for you and Ashley. Yes with out hesitation give your co worker the someone who dies Brochure. I am sending one to my aunt who just loss her husband.
I am with you and that MUSIC that starts playing the first of Novenmber and goes on and on. Argh!
How is DH? Getting to the meetings? I wish I could come visit. Big Hugs.

I need to start moving. Wasn't the Wt. on sunday the best?? I had to hear over the phone. We are the best friends because Jehovah hand picked us. Lean on each other and call someone you haven't seen in a while let them know that they are loved too.
I love you and need you.
Love Marie

WELCOME Back Celest! It was a Fantastic Convention!!! In more ways than one for you! How happy we are for you and your family! What a nice refresher about the Family Worship Evening. What's funny is the counsel is just as pointed during the Circuit Assembly and the Special Assembly Day as well as there's an article in a newer magazine too! I just loved the comparisons you shared. Thank you thank you thank you!

I would imagine that so many people were at various points in South Africa. A friend I haven't seen in 30 yrs was also back from Australia for the International assembly, but sadly she was in Durban, South Africa. Thats about a 19hr drive from where I was. There were 3 Internationals in South Africa, in the major centers Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town. I went to the Port Elizabeth assembly where we were assigned. Although I know International assemblies are amazing, I went to one 15 yrs ago and it was just too big for me. I found myself terrified that I would lose my kids, lose my way, spend half an hr in a toilet queue etc. Little assemblies are good for me and then I get to see International assemblies on internet :) which is a benefit in our modern times.

Wow they were making sure that we understood that FWE is vital for survival. It reminded me of the angel that passed over looking for the splash of blood on the Israelites door. No stopping at an unmarked door to find out what the reason was for no blood....just looking for the IDENTIFYING MARK. So, its vital that we start focusing on being spiritual people and trust in Jehovah to help us care for the physical responsibilities we have. With pots of money and low stress or major lack of money and sky high stress loads, we still have to enjoy FWE(not squeeze it in). Jesus himself had major stress load (dying a shameful death for all mankind) he even sweated blood on one occasion....don't think any of us have had it that hard yet.

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

Thought I'd try and read everything I've missed while being away at assembly, but its impossible, I'll be here till tomorrow. Decided to rather just jump right in from this point.
Assembly was SUPER FABULOUS, wow so much to take home and work with. My heads spinning with information. I cried like a baby during the drama, its so unbelievably accurate. Been there done that twice. But sooo glad my kids are back. My son was baptized. In fact my kids baptism dates are Cole 20/12/03 and Daniel 19/12/09 I'll never forget those dates 19&20th
Now I'm jolly tired from the 3days of sitting in fair heat and the lengthy trip back. But lots to apply and lots of squeezing through the narrow door.

How's everyone's weekend going?

I am just over the top with excitement! Marina's teacher, Jill, came to the Sunday meeting today for her 1st time. She came to a Thursday meeting w/ us a few weeks ago. She LOVED it! Afterward, a group of us took her out to lunch and she really enjoyed herself. She was telling us that she had an abusive childhood and only attended church for Christmas and Easter. When telling us how much abuse she could have avoided if her parents knew the truth in the Bible she got quite emotional. I told her not to be embarrassed and that we sometimes get emotional out of gratitude to Jehovah too. I told her that if she ever attends an assembly w/ us, she'll really notice that there; I always have to keep a tissue w/ me during the talks b/c I frequently tear up. Others said they do too, even the brothers admitted to it. That made her feel good and she said she'd really like to come w/ us to the next one in April!! She's drinking in the truth like a person parched for water. It's so heartwarming to see!

I'd like to tell you how Jill came to this. Last school year Jill was teaching elementary for a small country school near our town. A sister named Marina worked there as custodian (not my Marina, this is Marina "senior", whom I named my Marina after). Marina's husband, Michael, worked there too, driving the school bus.

Jill was often still in her classroom after hours, so Marina was always friendly with her while cleaning her room after school. They got to know each other here and there. There were problems in the school and some of the staff didn't get along w/ others. Divisions developed and complaining started. Budget cuts made things hard. But Jill noticed that Marina (and her husband, Michael) were always cheerful and friendly w/ everyone. They never got involved and continued doing their work conscientiously. No matter how stressful things were w/ the other teachers, Marina would go about her cleaning job while singing a happy tune and smiling at everyone.

One day Marina was assigned a talk on the ministry school, so she brought her books and notes w/ her so she could work on it in the cafeteria. Jill happened to walk by and Marina, on a whim, asked her if she could come help by playing the householder and giving her an honest critique. So they rehearsed the talk a couple of times and, of course, this prompted many questions from Jill. So Marina told Jill about the Bible study arrangement and offered her a study of her own. Jill said she'd think about it.

Then the school announced that it would be closed down soon due to the California state budget mess. Several other schools had already closed permanently and this one would finish out the year and then be gone. Everyone would be out of work. Everyone was upset and worried. Soon Jill came to Marina and asked if the invitation was still open for that study. They started studying just before school was out.

Meanwhile, they were still out of work. Jill remembered she'd worked temporarily for a little charter school a few years back, so she applied for a teaching position and got it. Well, it turned out to be our school. She came in and we all fell in love with her.

Our school is a homeschooling charter school and the parents do 75% of the teaching at home w/ support of the school, but they offer additional elective workshops 2 or 3 days a week. In the contract we sign at the beginning of every year, we parents are required to volunteer at the school (only 3 teachers and a secretary) for a minimum of 1 hr per week. Well, only the Witness families do it. So, if anyone comes to our school during work shops, they'll find 4 Witness moms (sometimes dads) and their 8 kids along with a few non-Witness students. Because we fulfill our contractual obligation and no one else does, we have them totally outnumbered!

Jill teaches the 1st thru 4th graders science for an hour and a half on Thursdays, has lunch w/ us, then teaches a language and literature class to the same students for another hour and a half. In these classes there are 7 students; 6 of them are JWs. And we moms volunteer as teacher's assistants in the class. So it's a good atmosphere down there and Jill has plenty of opportunities to ask questions and receive encouragement. Marina senior really appreciates the support.

So things are progressing nicely with Jill and I couldn't be more excited. A couple of weeks ago another of the JW moms, named DeeDee, and I decided to ask Jill if she'd like to bring her 6 y/o daughter to DeeDee's house for a play date. They both really enjoyed it. So today we made arrangements to do it again this Tuesday, but this time at my house. (It was funny b/c Jill just came out and asked for us to invite her and Hannah over this Tuesday at 1:00.) Then she overheard me talking to Marina senior and DeeDee about getting together for dinner and game night again soon and Jill said, "What do you do when you get together for game night?" I told her and she said, "Shoot me a memo." She's so bold, lol! I said, "Would your husband come if I invited your whole family over for a game night w/ the rest of us?" She said he would, she'd make sure of it, (altho he's Lutheran & wants to keep it that way). So, we're planning that too. She's just scooting right in with us and we couldn't be happier!

Well, I'm sorry to go on and on, I hope this wasn't torture for you. I'm just so excited and I was hoping this might be encouraging to others too.

Talk to you all later!

Naomi, you may have to wait til the NS to get a Wii, but I'll probably have to wait til the NS to lose 25#s, lol!

That's funny you remembered you pioneered in May! See, you're being too hard on yourself. Great job in service!

Gail ~ I so want a Wii. I asked my husband if he would get me one after I lost 25 pounds. He said he would get one when he has money. Great. That will be in the new system.

Janene ~ Great job taking the opportunities to informal witness at work and enjoy your time off.

Terriber ~ Glad the first surgery went well.

Jadzea ~ Thanks for visiting my page often.

Went in service today. I thought it had been almost two years since I went door to door. It was May of this year that I last auxiliary pioneered. Not as bad as I thought. Great day in service. My son place three magazines and got 2 RV's. I place 2 mags and got 1 RV. The sister we went with placed 4 mags and got 2 new RVs and her husband place 2 mags and got a new RV. The sister also went to an RV and place 2 more mags and gave her a copy of last Sunday's talk on CD. Her husband is adamantly opposed so we had to go when he wasn't there.
That's it for now. emoticon

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Hello, all. Wonderful reading all of your posts, I kinda fell off the map with health endeavors. Just had a long-awaited surgery to get the alien cancer out of my breast and, thank you Jehovah, it didn't spread to my lymph nodes (yes!). However, I just found out that I have to go in one more time for another surgery to make sure one corner of the area removed is all clear--didn't expect that! So I'm back to whining again...then the 2nd surgery and radiation. Thanks for all the well-wishes during the last few weeks. I have had so much help; I have a whole slew of thank you cards to get out in the mail!
This week I will be going out in service with the pioneers, can't wait! But I will have to lighten up the book bag to stay within the doctor's requirements for lifting. I could really get used to this being off work! Thanks for being such an encouraging bunch of friends! Can you believe we are almost 10 years into this century? Stay warm!

Good Job, Janene! And it's nice to have that goal of cultivating your own little territory. It gives you something positive to think about and work on, even when you'd rather not have to be at work at all.

I worked in offices for years doing secretarial work. I would leave interesting publications on the corner of my desk (as bait, lol) and also study for meetings at my desk whenever I could. I did the same thing in high school. Quite often that would lead to nice discussions and even giving the literature to curious ones. It was a wonderful way to start conversations and was also a protection at times. I remember once when I was young and single I worked with a young guy, a gorgeous guy a couple of years older than me, a Total Temptation, to be quite honest. But when a couple of the other girls started trying to match us up, some of the other girls said, "That will never work, Shari is really into her religion and they're really strict about that stuff." This young guy actually said, "I've wanted to ask you to come over to my apartment when I have others over for drinks after work, but you're always studying for your evening meetings. I guess you wouldn't be able to come if I asked, would you." The literature surely was a protection b/c that was a temptation! WHEW! Instead of coming to his apartment for drinks, I was actually able to witness to him a few times and explain our beliefs and why we do the door-to-door work. It would be great if those little seed might have sprouted later.

I miss those opportunities and unique territories. You keep up the good work and I hope you and your co-worker have a nice lunch!

Hi everyone nice to hear that you all are pressing on. I want to thank you all for your suggestions I prayed about it and for some reason I just kept thinking about the magazine "Is there life after death" So I choose that one it did have a section on the resurrection in it so I think if she reads it that she will have a well round view. She has not given me any feed back on it yet. But I invited her to lunch on the 29th so maybe I can get some feed back then. I have my own territory at work and I am trying to open my mouth when the opportunity arises.

Sometimes it is not easy but other times I can not help but say something because it is such a perfect time.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am off of work all next week so I am happy about that. I heard that they will be playing Christmas music on the speaker system we have through out the offices. So I am glad that I do not have to listen to that for two days that the will be open next week.

Celeste, have a wonderful time. One of our Elders and wife, a Pioneer couple are half way around the world, so I think they must be in your neck of the woods.

Janene, how about the Brochur, 'When Someone You Love Dies' I think having something she can read, just may be a big help to her.

Naomi, that is great on both counts. Maybe you could also supply them with English copies and possibly Tracts in a number of languages as well. I bet Alex will do great on his talk.

Shari, great news you have. I think your right about giving Janene's co-worker a book on the New System.

Gail, good to see you. They just did a survey on people and their WII's most people that bought them for exercise, are down to less than 25 min a week on them. You are way ahead of them.

Have a great weekend everyone and Shari, enjoy the Teacher being there.

emoticon using the Wii, Gail! emoticon I should have let Riley get one when he wanted one! Now he's saving for a guitar instead~~~a guitar will NOT help me lose weight! Maybe I can boogie to his music.....

Our experiences with the teachers, esp the one who's coming to the meeting Sunday, reminded me of the text yesterday too. In fact, she said that the sis who's studying w/ her had to cancel their study Wed for the 1st time and Jill, the teacher/Bible student, was so bummed out about it. She said she was looking forward to getting answers to some important Qs she'd asked her last week. DeeDee and I told her she has lots of spiritual big sisters now who are there for her and she can always turn to us. She LOVES that so much! She just loves the whole spiritual family aspect of the truth. DeeDee and I had Jill and her 6 y/o daughter come for a big tea party w/ our girls a couple of weeks ago and they liked it so much that Jill said she's planning one for us all at her house now. That's so cool. I don't know what's going on w/ her husband and I'm afraid to ask....in fact, even the sister who studies w/ her pretty much never asks about the husband. We just figure Jill has in under control. And so far he doesn't seem to be objecting. Anyway, that text was so fitting b/c we all do rejoice so much when a new one comes to Jehovah's table, esp when they come with a big appetite, and we all have a part in helping her take in that spiritual nourishment.

At our meeting last night, during the demo, I tried to picture you and Abby on stage, Gail. I could ALMOST see you there....

Well, I hope you all have a very good Friday today!

Hugs to all!

There may not be much conversation here but what is here sure is meaty! (you know what I mean right?)
Some good some tough but meaningful!

It's been a full day around here. I'm getting used to switching my thinking from going to work, then getting home and cramming dinner and other stuff in to staying home and getting home and family and school stuff done here. It's a funny thing that I've got to get used to that. You would think that would come natural. I'm doing okay with it.

I've done the Wii Fit for 7 out of 14 days just about. So every other day is way way way better than I've been doing for months!! It's not a regular routine that I do on there but I like the variety.

That was a nice experience Naomi, thanks for sharing that!

How nice for Riley Shari! I remember you talking about him going to take those items to his teacher! And that another teacher is coming to the Kingdom Hall Sunday, Wow! How nice. Reminds me of the text today!

See you all later, I've still got some data entry work to finish up on the computer and we're still pulling teeth, I mean having to direct Abby to get some book work done for school.

Love, Gail

That's great, Naomi! emoticon Riley placed the Stand Firm DVD and Mankind's Search for God book with his teacher today. (You may remember, he told him about the DVD and book 2 weeks ago, but this is the 1st time we've seen this teacher since then.) Anyway, he can't wait to see the video and said when he's done he'll donate it to the school library so other teachers can view it. He was very interested in the book and started reading it right then! It was funny though, he was looking thru the table of contents and said, "Hmmm, I've never heard of this religion, I wonder what that's all about." It was the chapter titled "Apostasy", lol. So of course we explained what that meant and he was very impressed that the Witnesses always know their history.

One of the other teachers is coming to her 1st Sunday meeting this weekend and we're really excited about that!

Janene, I hope it's going well w/ your friend w/ LAM. Sad to say, I had a close sister/friend die on me of that, still miss her every day. And another sister, w/ a husband and 11 y/o daughter, was recently diagnosed with it. It's a terrible thing! I was thinking that rather than offering a magazine about death to her, how about offering one about the new system, a time when all sickness will be gone, etc. Some people live for years with LAM and the way things are going, there's still a chance the end could come before this disease gets her. But either way, learning about the new system would be a very positive thing for her.

Well, I have to get dinner on the table and get ready for meeting. It's been a good but tiring day, and it's not quite over yet!

emoticon to you all!

Just have a couple minutes to pop in and say Hi, gotta get breakfast going for my father in law. Just had to mention that we went to a story tme at my son's school last night. They had out new books for RIF (Reading is Fundamental). There was another sister there from the spanish congregation and she had brought the Learn from the great teacher, greatest man that ever lived, family success, and others to possibly set out. The principal said that the books set out were just the RIF books. The sister explained that these were books that we give to the community, that though they are free we do take donations. The principal wanted them all, even though the sister only had spanish.
In other news,
My son has another talk in January and it is in the a school, hope his teacher can make it to that one. He's been trying but something alway comes up. His teacher is constantly singing his praises about how well of a speaker he is in front of the class and that whatever it is they do for his talks is great. Alex placed a bible and bible teach book with him last school year.
OK, I've got to get breakfast going.

Thank you Celest and Gail for your suggestions and support. I have to say that maybe I took the chicken way out and wrote a note and placed it on her desk. Now she can read it or not, I will let you know how she reacts latter. I only hope she does not take it in the wrong way.

My suggestion is that since you know her fairly well, offer her either one on that subject and scan all your mags old and new for a happy topic on a subject that either she or her children will enjoy. That way you counterbalance the sad with the happy.

Hi Janene, I feel for you being nervous. There was a close family member who had their brother die in a car accident, a tragic accident, and he was very young too. I offered both of those I think, either way I had no hesitation to offer them because he could read them at his leisure. AND that I asked him if he wanted them (or it, can't remember if it was just one or both) and he did, well that settled that.

If you offer one and she accepts it, well there you go!

You'll do fine, you've got the best hope for the future and comfort for the present to offer her!

Hello all,

I have not had a chance to catch up on all of the post as of yet.

I have a question for my knowledgeable sisters. I have co-worker at work and we have been friends for 10 years our daughters went to school together so we know each other very well.

Last year she was diagnosed with an disease that is very rare, it is a lung disease called LAM it is only a matter of time and she will get to where she will not be able to breath and she could get a lung transplant but it can and most likely come back, so there is no cure. So she knows that at some point she will die.

Last week one of the LAM patients that she was close to and felt she was an inspiration to her died. She was diagnosed at the age of 16 had a transplant at 20 died at the age of 22. Since then she has been very depressed.

I have witnessed to her about different things but I would like to share something about death and the resurrection hope with her but I am not sure if that would be to much at this time or not. What do you think? I have the 2008 Awake "Is there life beyond the grave? and 2008 Watchtower "When a loved one dies How can you cope? So I was trying to decided which one to give to her and yet I am nervous. Help!!!

Janene

Oh sisters... I so badly want to catch up with these posts but am so overwhelmed right now... I'm starting a new schedule this week and cutting out my morning computer time completely. That's the only way I'm going to hope to have time to exercise and get breakfast and make service on time. That plus being offline the entire weekend has put me sorely behind in the news here. Just wanted to pop in and say hey. Love and hugs, Dee

not quite yet. We leave on Thursday and he will get baptized on Saturday. But the excitement is very high. We are all of us, the entire family travelling down in a 10-seater microbus. You can imagine what the atmosphere will be like. We are going to sing kingdom melodies, play bible guessing games....I cant wait.

As you can see, I didn't get back in till tonight.

Janene, so good to see you.

Vickie, so glad you were able to get your Service arranged. That is something I really miss. Not so much the being yelled at but being able to be out there and talk to people. It's been so long, I'd never be able to do it. Our Service Overseer called because thhey are setting up phone territory and he didn't want to have any of the 110 we writ to included but DH told him he thought it would be better if they were double teamed. Might get more good action that way.

Laurie, your welcome and since I haven't been here in almost a week, your safe. LOL

Gail, posted snow pictures in my blog tonight. Have some tree ones for you.

Shari, Jehovah manuvers many things to help people find the Truth. Sometimes it's just a piece of scrap paper of an article from a magazine.Sounds like you make end up with a study with your neighbors.

Celeste, that is wonderful. He is probably already Baptized no. Awesome for you.

Naomi, that's wonderful, you need to let him grow in his desire to serve Jehovah as he makes the necessary changes. Congrats!.

Janene, hope you had a nice visit.

Shari, our montra of late has been, it's only temporary. One day we will have our new pain free bodies.

Gail, so sorry about the headache. I wake up in the night most nights with one. Oy!

Shari, lots of great calls and studies for all of you. How fun!

Shari that was such a funny experience, not at all what you'd expect a person of 90+ to give. The teens must have loved it....isn't that what they always want to hear after all?
My kids would have thought she was an angel, they tried using that logic on me many many times. I just came back with if its your best and Jehovah accepts that, I guess its good enough for you and you should accept it. But my kids (bright as they are) were not good at school. They found the main stream schools too aggressive and full of alcohol, early sex etc. If I had had more courage I would have home schooled them. If I had kids now, they'd never see the inside of a schoolroom. I think our education would be so much better. They'd have more confidence, less opposition, less time wasted on redundant subjects like history, more worthwhile stuff....aah I'm rambling now.

I will NOT run emotionally from compliments and hide in fat layers for protection.

I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. We had the privilege of starting a brand new study this morning in service! emoticon (I say "we" b/c I was in the cargroup, lol!)This young guy, about 25 y/o, had had a conversation w/ one of the brothers some time back and it had apparently impressed him quite a bit b/c he's recently hit on some very hard time and decided to call the KH and ask for someone to come visit him; he was so down that he was thinking of taking his life! So my DH and another brother went right over there this morning and spent some time w/ him. He has never studied before but really wants help. He's been trying to read his KJ Bible on his own and he's been praying a lot. DH said he's definitely got all 3 "h's"; hungry, honest, and humble. That was a nice thing.

Then, since it was raining and snowing (both) and door to door seemed pretty impossible, we went to visit a 92 y/o woman who's been studying w/ another sister for quite awhile but due to the weather she can't get to meetings very much lately. She loves it when others come by to visit her, and especially loves seeing the kids. I got such a kick out of her. She gave our kids plenty of advice today. She said, "Do like I did and just do enough work at school to get to the next grade. There's no point in trying hard. Every grade is just temporary anyway and will be over soon. And if you have a hard time with tests and assignments, just talk to the other students, they usually have the answers. There's no need to work too hard." She was totally serious! emoticon Then later she was talking to a 15 y/o young brother who was w/ us and she said, "Don't be too hard on yourself. No one expects too much of you anyway. And don't waste time analyzing yourself, just don't worry about it. You're ok as you are. If you're doing something wrong, someone will tell you if it gets bad enough," then she turned to me and said, "I heard that on tv one time". emoticon Oh, my! She was full of good advice today, lol! But we sure enjoyed our visit!

Later, Taters!

Have I got a headache. We just drove an hour...in the dark...on the highway....in the rain....could hardly see the lines on the road...other cars spraying extra rain on the windshield...and I get extra stressed when I'm not at the wheel knowing just what's going on. DH was driving. Got in a took some alka-seltzer!

Oy (is that how you spell it Shari?)

I think every day about how it would feel to just "feel good"! How nice it would be to wake up in the morning with a refreshed body instead of an achy, stiff, painful one! And to be able to eat my fill of healthy food and have lots of energy throughout the day, no worries of food allergies, water retention, weight gain. UGH! I do remember feeling that way when I was younger, b/f FMS, etc. Very loving that Jehovah continues to accept such flawed, crippled service. But something encouraging I always remember was when our DO visited our cong and gave a special talk to us. He spoke of how physical miracles would likely happen even before Armageddon; that would have to be so, in order for many of his servants to survive the GT. Think of those on oxygen, those dependent on daily meds, those in wheel chairs, etc. I'm not that bad off but I do wonder how I'll ever make it thru without divine help! He will see to our needs and get us thru it on HIS power b/c many of us have very little power left even for every day things. Pretty cool.

Gail, it is like you say. But tracking is the best thing. Today I went to listen to my sons band practice for the show on the 26th and as the day wore on, out came the snacks. Now, these are all youngsters with precious little excess weight..if any. So naturally is potato crisps, beer etc. So I ended up having 100ml of beer and a handful of crisps (which the singer sweetly dumped on a scale and weighed them for me and the beer in a measuring jug) so that I would be able to come home and track so that I could adjust my dinner. Its a wonderful thing knowing what we eat...next best to the new system where everything is good for us.

Good Morning Everyone, I am popping in to say HI, I don't have much time to stay so just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you all. My daughter and her family and I are going to visit with my Mom she lives about an hour away from us. We are trying to visit with her more but it is not easy for me any way when you work full time you don't have much time to do anything but for the things you have to get done on weekends. But since she is 86 years old I guess I need to enjoy the time I have left with her.

I need to go to get ready in time I have 45 mins, before they pick me up.

I will be back later I a question for all of you to help me with and to help give me a push.

A bit crazy around here too. This Homeschooling is a Full Time job and I was never very good with a schedule so we're all over the place trying to do the work and keep up.

I'm going to try to track my food if it kills me. That, I know, is the number one way to eat the right amount.

This world is so twisted you know. In part of the world we have to learn how to eat right and less when there's plenty of healthy food around and the other part of the world many are struggling to eat anything!

OH do we need the Kingdom!

Been crazier than usual on my side of the world. Haven't had much time to check anything. The pace has finally slowed down and now I'll have time to check everything and get back to you. Thx

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Good Wednesday, Everyone! I hope everyone is ok with all the storms going on and really really icy weather! The snow storm is gone from here now, but we're still covered in over a foot and a half of snow, much of which has now turned to ice. This morning we got up to temps in the teens; they've risen to the 20's now but the roads are really icy and bad. So it's another day holed up like bunnies for us. It sure is beautiful though! We got to take the kids sledding last night on the steep road across from our house (the name of the road is Mt. Everest, that always cracks the kids up that they get to sled on Mt. Everest!) That was fun! One of the neighbor boys came to play with us and I placed the December mags w/ him and asked him to make sure and share them w/ his mom too. They were such good articles I just couldn't resist.

Nice to hear from you all! Keep doing the best you can in everything you do!
