Tina, that's great. Thanks. There are so many B & S losing their jobs right now.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Oooh, me likey the idea for this thread! Tammy and I shop online all the time, and have never had a problem. Paypal is great, very secure, and lots of websites will let you use it.
Here are a couple sites and what they do:

www.snopes.com for debunking those pesky internet rumors

www.newegg.com for great prices on electronics

www.picnik.com for free online photo-editing

www.agoodvitamin.com for good prices on pills (if you don't find what you're looking for on Alice's site first, of course)

www.retailmenot.com for coupons that will work on other sites (sometimes)

Keep 'em coming! I love finding new websites and sharing! Can't wait to try all these new ones!

Thanks, Alice, I'll check that out.

Another one I like, Doldra turned me on to, is Bustameal.com. I've been using it and having fun with it. It helps you plan dinners and sends you a shopping list via email you can print out and take to the store with you. Lots of good, quick recipes and dinner ideas, makes dinner not quite such a pain.

I love shopping online. I have safely shopped online at many sites. I wanted to add my site in case anyone is interested in high quality health supplements, like vitamins, healthy cookies, Limu Plus, fiber and more. So I hope you will keep me in mind if you are :-) I use their products and they are great.

Also Vitamark will return your money if you dislike the product.

I'll have to check out Ecost.com. That sounds like a good one to add to our bookmarks.

Another one like that is 1saleaday.com. I just checked on there yesterday and they had this emergency tool for the car that had a flashlight/beacon, window-breaker, and seatbelt-cutter, all-in-one, and they were giving them away FREE! Just pay for the shipping ($5.00) I ordered one for the car and one for my husband's truck.

Linda, I used to feel the same way. But then I realized #1, websecurity has gotten way better, you just have to check each site to see if it's a "locked" or secured site and you can also have just one credit card for online ordering, with a small credit limit in case of fraud. Also, credit card companies are very aware of fraud now, so most of them don't hold you accountable for fraudulent purchases. When you go to the screen to enter your credit card number, check the address bar, look at the webaddress in the bar and make sure that it starts with "https", the "s" on the end means it's secured.

Also, we often use PayPal, which is a company that pays for the purchase for you, then you pay them using an account you have set up with them. Especially when purchasing something on e-bay or from a private seller (not a big business) we use PayPal.

And the #2 reason I go ahead and buy online when I need to is that buying from a store using a card, even a debit card, is really not any more secure, when you think about it. Either way, someone gets your credit card number and uses it to cover that purchase. One time the news reported that mailing our bills out and paying with a check, even if we drop them off at the post office ourselves, is less secure than buying online at reputable sites. Anyone can intercept that bill anywhere along the way and get your check and the information on it, including your account number & location of your bank. So, it all comes down to doing what we can to protect ourselves, and then having to trust a little, here and there.

Sounds like a good idea, except I for one am always leary about ordering on line...I just do not like giving my credit card info on line where anyone might see it. Too many people these days know how to do the scams and frauds. I have seen things on line at a better cost than in the store, but because of my "fears" I just don't do it.

I guess from your experiences, you have not had any problem with them. I would like to have the assurance and confidence that the sites are safe.

Linda

My brother turned me onto Ecost.com for electronics. They usually have hot deals on things you can use like sd cards (for your mp3 or digital camera). Thanks love the idea for this board!

My son and I have been coming across and using some really helpful websites in recent months. I thought I'd like to get the word out about some of them and then thought maybe you all might have some good ones you'd like to share too. I love it when I find a great website, especially if it's fun, saves money, makes something in our daily life easier, etc.

Woot.com:

One we love and check every day is Woot.com. Have you heard of it? Their motto is, "One day, One deal". They usually have electronics, but sometimes other things too, you just never know. The deals are great. They'll have hundreds or thousands of one item, they'll mark it way down, half price or even less sometimes, and sell them all in a day. Then, the next day it will be something else. So, we like to check it every day. All items are name brand and there's lots of info to read about each product so you can check it out thoroughly before you decide to buy it. Riley likes to Google the product and check out the average price to see how discounted it is, and also to read more about it before he clicks on it to buy it. We have ordered a couple of things from them and have been happy with the service. It's a great place to shop if you're looking for an expensive item and you don't want to pay full price (who does?)
