Some of my symptoms are better but some of them flared over the weekend. Just found out hubby has diabetes, so am trying to find a balance in his stuff and mine. Right now very frustrating because he doesn't seem to make any changes to help himself. Oh well.

08.10.11 -- Enough stalling already... spent 10 minutes on the stationary bike, biking a little over a mile... it felt wonderful, even though my body complained... time to just DO IT!
Does anyone else have the ulcers on their tongue. My mouth hurts like crazy. Dr. gave me a prescription for a special mouthwash but its not helping. If you have this what do you do for it?

Fibrofog has me bound in melancholy and indecision...I could really use some support right now. School is only 2 weeks away and I am once again fretting that I won't be able to handle it...

FYI:
Studies have shown that in the absence of sufficient Melatonin, which regulates the amount and cycling of serotonin in the system, the body may become resistant to the effects of serotnin (in a way it gets too much of a good thing) which in turn results in Depression.
Additionally, since the body produce the majority of its serotonin in the intestines and not the brain, and many Fibro sufferers have symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) we frequently upset the balance even more...
In the absence of a regulated Melatonin/Seratonin cycle sleep may be disturbed or not as restoritive and that can also result in symptoms of Depression. Since Melatonin, taken as directed is both extremely safe and has been used therapeutically in Europe for more than 25 years, in my opinion it is a safe, effective aid to helping us live a bit better.
PS Just one word of caution, Depression is a complicated and multidimensional reality and may have several different contributing factors. Not all depression is caused by the same things...however an imbalance in the Melatonin/Seratonin cycle has definately been shown to be a contributing factor.

Lately I get those pressure pains to, especially at my upper hip area when I sleep on my side ( my preference). In the morning I can be REALLY stiff, but eventually things loosen a bit - sometimes I spent my mornings limping throgh school only to find that by afternoon things were better. Exercise - as much as it hurts to begin really helps. The points of pressure pain that are very local and severe are called trigger points, and even slight pressure can cause intense discomfort. I do know that for some unknown reason the pain does eventually seem to move to another location or even abate for a time. I have recently gotten sharp spasms in my neck - another new ouchy for me and my migraines - one of the first symptoms of this syndrome for me - have returned and the medicine I was on (Inderal) no longer works... I have done a lot of reading and study as well as lived with this and my lupus for almost 30 years now 18 years of which it was diagnosed. I recommend you read everything you can and learn to ask questions persistently until you get answers. I too thought this was a make believe syndrome and some of my early doctors treated me as if it were, but Fibromyagia is real and life-altering... One small suggestion to all of you who suffer night pain and restless leg twitches - I have found that Clonidine .1 mg really helps as does a warm bath and warm lnon caffinated beverages before sleep...

Lately my Fibro seems to have taken a different tack ...should I strain myself the pain is severe and far too long lasting in proporation to the injury...does anyone else find this to be the case?
I am really struggling right now due to a recent Lupus flare and having to take steroids for the inflamation. I'm currently weaning off of them, but I am hungry ALL THE TIME. It makes it so that after I eat a meal, I still feel like I haven't eaten...which is upsetting so I eat some more! Anyone have some suggestions? Thanks!

The good news is that it is not raining as much as they said it would. I'm going to try some planning today...not my strong suit. Say a prayer for me.

Another week of classes has come to an end and I have both a 7-page exam/essay but another analysis piece due next week. In the meantime, I am struggling to find my way back to the YMCA! Let's support each other! I am reaching out to all of you, my sparkfriends, and especially my teammates. Together we WILL SUCCEED! Gabi

I must get busy with this weight loss or I will miss the roller coasters in July. I weigh the same now as I did a month ago. My excuses included we have all had the flu, I have a bulging disc (been in physical therapy) the weather, currently in a flare. None of those are going to matter come July. I must get busy.
I pray y'all are having more success then me :)

SWEETPEA - I understand! Fibro/Lupus is wrecking havoc with me too...maybe its the weather! Thanks for the encouragement! Gabi
Thank You Gabi for being so dedicated to this team. Such an inspiration.
Same old thing here. My boys have been sick already. Now of course I have it.
I have lost 20 - 25 lbs off my greatest weight. I worked so hard and it seems to be coming off so slowly. My rheumy was thrilled. Truly uplifted me. Now I need to settle down and focus on the next 25.
I feel awful at the moment. This weather, back to school, sick kids, stress, my lupus fibro thing is in a terrible flare.
Anyway I hope everyone has a great week.
Tender Hugs and Gods Blessings Suzi

Fibromyalgia pain can ebb and rise on its own, without activity...and the depression has indeed been linked to the syndrome. Have you talked to your doctor about some sort of short-term phsrmaceutics?
I am sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it...know that I am there for you.
Hey! I don't get to post that often but I do have a question. I do have Fibromyalgia. It has rained so much here lately and my pain has been Extreme! I do have Chronic back pain. Bone on bone and nerve damage. My question is: I am so depressed. I mean really. I don't want to do a thing. I am a Personal Trainer in weights and Exercise and I can't bring myself to want to go. My husband is fed up and complaining saying God a mighty smile already. That is my norm. Now a year today August 26th my nearly 14 year old poodle died. My husband thinks thats part of it because I blame myself for her death. She died of congestive heart failure. The vet said. That and constant pain. He (Husband) just doesn't have a clue about the pain and I take pain meds but. Gee I have to wonder is this kind of depression normal? Does it go with this disease. Cause I just do not want to get out of bed. Does it go away. Is this one of the symptoms that come and go. I am trying my best to deal and not cry(Which I NEVER do), Any answers? Thanks LadyCocoa
