Oh, those snacks can sure get ya. I can't have potato chips anywhere around. Sometimes I'll thinly slice potatoes and make microwave chips (lots of recipes on the web). That way I control the salt plus can only make small amounts at one time so that helps avoid eating too many. Other times my husband buys chips and I ask him to hide them where I won't find them!

3,589 Today. Much higher than I expected it would be. But tomorrow will be better.

I did something today I wouldn't normally do. I bought a bag of mini pretzels. I'm trying to watch the sodium but every once in awhile I want a crunchy snack that isn't a veggie. So I got the lesser of two evils ( pretzels vs doritos).

1,097 for today !

I've been eating a bowl of cereal at night as a snack thinking at least I was getting daily fiber but it's making the numbers on the scale go in the wrong direction. So no more cereal at night. Bob mentioned this morning I could still have my cereal, only have it for breakfast instead and have something small, like a yogurt for my evening snack. So I'll give that a try and see if it works better for me. I'm staying within my calorie limits with the cereal. I just think because I was eating it in the evenings, I wasn't burning it off fast enough so my morning weigh in reflects it.

I've been in a funk and didn't log food a couple days. Now I'm coming out of it and only in a fog, ha!

Hi Everyone. Just got my new glasses. Going to take getting used to. Before I had progressive lenses. This time it's with the bifocal and trifocal lines. And I'm used to a large frame but this pair is very small as I'm no longer able to wear the larger size due to brittle bone disease. I need as lightweight a pair as possible. I'm not really thrilled with how I look in these glasses but over time I guess I'll get used to it. Right now they just kind of make me sad feeling.

No idea what my sodium intake was yesterday, probably through the roof. Friends took us out to dinner at the local Mexican restaurant. They didn't have my first two choices so I settled on Chili Colorado. Whoa! It was so salty I ate only a few bites. Even the strawberry lemonade tasted like salt had been added. My weight is up 2 lbs this morning. Think I'll stick with mostly salads and fruit for a couple days.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I am not much of a cook, but am trying to work with a few things. Being so heavy and living by myself for so many years, my motto was if I can't nuke it or eat it straight out of the can, I can't be bothered. I always wanted to be able to eat at least one meal out at a restaurant, but my finances didn't allow. So now that I have even more restrictions, I am trying not to be so lazy and am trying to fix a few things.

I was diagnosed with a soy intolerance about nine months ago, and once that was out of my body, there went over 3 years of pain - from the soy that I was living with - that was a biggie as soy is in everything from makeup to flour, etc.. No more pain except when the A-Fib kicks in. And now that weight is beginning to drop a little, even that is getting better. The brand of salt-free sweet potato chips is called Terra. I found them at Whole Foods, and now my local market carries them as well.

Welcome Krosmon. At first it's hard doing low sodium but then it's 2nd nature and you find yourself being able to taste salt on foods easily. Do you remember what the brand of the sweet potato chips is? I have used a recipe on here for microwave potato chips that satisfies that craving. Basically I TRY to make things from scratch. There are so many good spices I was missing out on for years. emoticon
