I skipped my weigh-in last time because I had too much water retention. Now doing better at watching salt, and am losing water, so hope it's better this weigh-in, which is Friday for me.

Well, at the party they had sliced pork in a sauce, so I had the macaroni instead, and it had only a little sauce. My weekly weigh-in this morning was pretty good, back to where I was before Thanksgiving.

Well, tomorrow evening is our Neighborhood Association's holiday dinner. I must attend, because I said I'd staff the sign-in table. I just hope they're having turkey rather than ham.

I'm weighing every Friday because I tend to eat more salty food on weekends, and that puts my weight up. I'm getting better, though, at abstaining when free food is offered.

I decided to give up the scale for a while. I was beating myself up everytime it fluctuated. I have a bin of clothes I want to fit in again that's my goal. I do have a number in mind also but the clothes fitting is all I want to begin with.

I know a lot of people won't agree with me giving up the scale but for my emotional health, I have to. I think working towards fitting into my special angel top will be more rewarding than seeing a number on the scale.

The most weight I ever lost at one time was 70 pounds when I was in a coma for 6 weeks. Goal weight is 150 pounds......now 220 pounds .......only a repeat coma away from ideal!
In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian

I weigh myself every morning, I record it once a week on Wednesday. I like doing it every day, otherwise I can fool myself into thinking an occasional 100 calories extra won't hurt, then I find I'm doing that and more, too often...once the week is over I'm in trouble. I don't worry too much about daily fluctuations, water weight adds a pound or two occasionally, and I do believe my scale has a glitch in it, not 100% accurate, but I forgive it and look at the bigger picture. I've lost about 16 lbs since July 4th, aiming for 1 lb a week, and so far I'm meeting that goal. I don't know what my personal ideal weight is, I'll know when I get there. I'm not looking for bone thin, a bit matronly is OK, but a size 16 is sort of what I think I'd like. I'm in a 20 now, and some 18s. I just want to be comfortable and maybe get off the CPAP and the blood pressure meds.

Tell us how you are doing. Have you lost weight, gained? What about inches? How are you measuring your success/ **********************************************************************************************************
I decided that for my own piece of mind, I won't be using the scale anymore. If I can get Bob to agree, I'll stick it in the yard sale we're having the 16th and 17th. But I flatly won't be using it again. He says he wants to use it but he maybe gets on it 1-2 times a year, so he could do that at the doctor's office. I will be measuring myself once a month to see if I'm making any progress but I'm going to hang up a really pretty angel top that I wore when I was a size L and work to get back down to where it'll fit me. I'm currently a size 2XL so it's going to be awhile.
