I agree with the majority, my plan is to eat anything I can handle, in moderation. I keep track of the calories and sodium, and try to keep a balanced nutritional status. I avoid simple sugars for the most part, because sugar sets up cravings for more, and more. I do have dessert occasionally, esp. on Thursdays when we go out for lunch, then I can't go back for more since it's 'one to a customer'. Doing this, I've been losing an average of one pound a week, and I'm delighted.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil. 4:13

I've decided not to do either. I'm going to stick with my modified low carb plan. I cut out junk carbs 98% of the time, but all foods are allowed as long as I stay within the nutritional limits I have set up.

I do not do either. I prefer the Forks Over Knives. It is plant based. No animal products.
All vegies, fruits, nuts, almond milk, legumes and beans
I do however have my weekly two shredded beef hardshell taco lunch.....just sayin!

"If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

I would choose the Mediterranean diet only because doctors are always talking about how healthy it is. I don't know much about the south beach diet. To be honest I will never go on a diet again. I am making lifestyle changes.

Of the two diets ( South Beach or Mediterranean), which one do you feel is the healthiest? Would you try either one?

I've been trying to stick with a modified low carb but I've heard SB allows a little more variety. But MD pushes olive oil which is supposed to be the healthiest oil to use. I think it pretty much comes down to calories and portion control , no matter what plan someone does.
