How about sending the chain letters back to the sender, maybe they'd get the hint.

Same here. My Mom is my biggest sender of chain mail. She forwards on every single one she receives. And while most are cute with pictures of adorable animals or some jokes or riddles in them, or just pretty landscape pictures....all of them end the same way: Send this to 10 of your friends in the next 10 minutes or ....(insert bad thing) will happen to you.

I have been getting religious chain letters at work from some people who think this is okay...I always just delete them...

Then last week I got a political chain letter regarding sending a message to Obama and a warning if I didn't pass it on all the names (signatures) would be lost....I deleted that one, too.

I wish people wouldn't do this. emoticon

I guess I don't really mind getting one from a friend once in a while when it strokes my ego a little bit. Then I tend to send it back to the sender. Funny ones lighten the day a little. But I agree, they can become a constant barrage that substitutes for real communication.

or is anyone else finding it weird that the sparkmail reminders about chain letters has turned into a chain letter of its own? emoticon

I'm going to assume that at least one of your groups sent you a sparkmail stating don't send chain mail messages.

If you haven't received such a sparkmail: don't send chain letters.
