Hi Cielbee, I'm in MA. also, and shop in Stop and Shop, and I've never seen low sodium cottage cheese. I live south of Boston. I'll look a bit closer today when I go shopping, and if I don't find it, I'll check with the manager.
Do you know Francisco Rinaldi has a "no sodium added" spaghetti sauce. I got it at Shaws last week for $1.00 a jar!! I bought 8!! Stop and Shop has it too, but it wasn't on sale there.

I'd check out a variety of grocery stores--here in MA several stores such as Stop and Shop do their own brand of low salt (no salt added = 55 mg sodium per serving), plus Cabot. Health food stores would probably carry lower salt cottage cheese, too.

I envy you! It *is* a great source of protein, tasty too. I can't get Lucerne brand here in Ontario.

I've looked in the stores, have not found a low-fat variety yet. Ricotta cheese tastes sweeter - not the same. I've tried Quark - pretty tasty, but again not quite the same as cottage cheese.

I'll keep looking though...

I just found a no salt added cottage cheese yesterday @ Safeway. It has 45mg salt. It's Lucerne Cottage cheese.

This is a battle.

Ricotta cheese has 75mg in 1/4 cup, cottage cheese is a lot more for the same amount. Ricotta is creamier, and I love it. I spread it on toast, add a slice of tomato, some spices, nice lunch. Donna

I'm wondering in the light of day, cottage cheese, a lot of sodium, but just a great form of protein - does anyone know any low-sodium versions?
