It was supposed to make a kid stronger and bring up his weight. I googled it before posting the other day--it's still available : ) I think the main claim to fame is that it's an iron supplement for kids. Funny about adults' perceptions of childhood experiences. The site where I read up on it had lots of posts from former users and most said how much they liked taking it and how they'd sneak extra doses if they could. Definitely not my memory of it : ) Have a good day, eh, John.
The big thing to give kids in the 50's when I was pre-teen was Neo Chemical Food. Anybody else have to take that? I think it was actually just a lot of sugar and a lot of malt extract. Tasted like Marmite as I recall.

I stayed small so long that my parents took me to a Dr. They did tests and determined that I was just a small frame. I was always self conscious about being small. Yes people made fun of me. Guys taunted me into my 30s. Then I moved to Tx, and its common to see small or short men here so no big deal. The taunts were a prob in the Military, so I got into boxing and martial arts, and I didnt have any more probs. By the time I hit the 40s, had some health issues, the wgt gain started. Now thats the uphill battle. LOL
Well, I didn't have a brother who picked on me, but definitely I was underweight throughout my childhood and youth. Picked on because of it? Not sure that was the reason, but for sure there were times when I was picked on by friends or boy cousins for seemingly no reason. Not enough that I feel scarred by it, just enough to know I have deep empathy for those who do get picked on often.
