Well, I lost 2 lbs. between Tuesday and yesterday. Probably water weight, but I'll take what I can get! I'm un-stickying this. Hopefully more people will hope aboard the advent challenge. :)

I am going to try to go to yoga for the first time ever on Saturday. Hopefully I'll do it!

I didn't go to the gym AT ALL last week. Did do a little walking and raking.

I just hope and cross my fingers that I am not back up to 200!!!

Maybe we should also do an advent challenge similar to the lenten challenge. I'm not religious, really, but tend to do better with those challenges!

Trying to get back on track...doing some work for another 10 minutes on the computer, then going out to rake leaves with my Mom's doggie.

Too much traveling and stuff, so I'm late to the game.

Thu Nov 22) Eat a piece of fruit today.
Fri Nov 23) Take a 10-15 minute walk outside or a bike ride; if it's a gym/cardio day for you anyway, add an extra 10-15 minutes if you'd rather do that. (But hey, being outdoors is nice!)
Sat Nov 24) If you get the urge to overeat/emotional eat/binge eat today, instead, listen to a kick ass song and drink a glass of water. Share with us what song it was.
Sun Nov 25) Make something healthful (doesn't have to be a Sparkrecipe) and try to make enough to share with a guest or have as leftovers.
Mon Nov 26) Write a SparkPeople blog (or set up a SparkPeople profile Web page if you haven't already).
Tue Nov 27) Try a recipe from SparkRecipes.com and report on it.
Wed Nov 28) Surprise! Do something positive and healthful (mentally or physically) today, such as strength training, medication, etc., and share with your team members on this thread!

I don't know about ya'll, but between traveling and working and family festivities, I've done LOUSY...no gym all week...will try to regroup after Sunday.

Going to the gym today to make up for skipping last night. Will then go to work at the library for a few hours.

Last night I made some amazing peanut soup! It wasn't a spark recipe, but I took a picture so I can upload it and share with others.

Here are the next week's challenges:

Thu Nov 15) Eat a piece of fruit today.
Fri Nov 16) Take a 10-15 minute walk outside or a bike ride; if it's a gym/cardio day for you anyway, add an extra 10-15 minutes if you'd rather do that. (But hey, being outdoors is nice!)
Sat Nov 17) If you get the urge to overeat/emotional eat/binge eat today, instead, listen to a kick ass song and drink a glass of water. Share with us what song it was.
Sun Nov 18) Make something healthful (doesn't have to be a Sparkrecipe) and try to make enough to share with a guest or have as leftovers.
Mon Nov 19) Write a SparkPeople blog (or set up a SparkPeople profile Web page if you haven't already).
Tue Nov 20) Try a recipe from SparkRecipes.com and report on it.
Wed Nov 21) Surprise! Do something positive and healthful (mentally or physically) today, such as strength training, medication, etc., and share with your team members on this thread!

Will probably change up so the following week, the assignment will be to make something healthy to take to Thanksgiving.

Not doing as well as I'd hoped...ate an apple last night, and some cookies and low-fat ice cream (that stuff is SO HARD TO SCOOP!) and made rigatoni for dinner. That all would've been fine, except I ate the WHOLE BOWL of rigatoni!!! Argh!!!

I am a little late on starting the challenge....but here I go...
I had the fruit yesterday, and I did the walk today.....
Now I have to try to keep up with the rest.
You must resist the bake sale, or atleast limit your portions.

I did LOUSY again yesterday...and our net isn't working, so I couldn't get any work done or log my calories...I forgot to eat my apple.

Will eat 2 apples today and take a walk later this afternoon during work. I am so proud for losing 2.5 lbs., I want to keep going!!!

They're having a bake sale at work...must resist!

Well, I binged last night and ended up going over my calories by at least 300. emoticon The two previous nights, I'd been tempted, but didn't. Why did I give in this time!

Here's this week's challenges:
----------------------------------------
Thu Nov 8) Eat a piece of fruit today.
Fri Nov 9) Take a 10-15 minute walk outside or a bike ride; if it's a gym/cardio day for you anyway, add an extra 10-15 minutes if you'd rather do that. (But hey, being outdoors is nice!)
Sat Nov 10) If you get the urge to overeat/emotional eat/binge eat today, instead, listen to a kick ass song and drink a glass of water. Share with us what song it was.
Sun Nov 11) Make something healthful (doesn't have to be a Sparkrecipe) and try to make enough to share with a guest or have as leftovers.
Mon Nov 12) Write a SparkPeople blog (or set up a SparkPeople profile Web page if you haven't already).
Tue Nov 13) Try a recipe from SparkRecipes.com and report on it.
Wed Nov 14) Surprise! Do something positive and healthful (mentally or physically) today, such as strength training, medication, etc., and share with your team members on this thread!
----------------------------------------

I brought an apple to work today and am taking a friend to lunch - I will be sure to try to order the best possible healthy choice. Gym tonight. Then more work. fun fun fun.

Well, if staying within your comfort zone is what you need to do right now, then by all means, don't beat yourself up over it!

Do you feel good once you start walking, or do you still feel anxious?

No time to cook this evening - will do that tomorrow. Instead, I heat the gym and had yummy/healthy curry for supper. I'm within my calorie range with @ 200 to spare, and back down to 191.5. Yay!

I'm off to a bumpy start, as well. Reuben, fries, and buffalo strips at dinner. Candy late at night. I'm visiting my folks' house, and found a picture of me right before I started college. Going to use that as motivation. I do *not* want to gain the weight back I worked so hard to lose. :(

it may be the meds I resumed in that same time frame. Don't know. I suppose the weight gain is necessary, but it is so scary. I told my therapist that I think I am afraid of losing my individuality/uniqueness (in the form of thinness). Sucky.
I have been moody lately. 2 days of usual foods/calories, no BP b/c of obligations. Plenty of urges though. No exercise. Too busy w/ other stuff. bummer. so uncreative w/ food. sandwiches. oatmeal. everyday.

Wow, 9-11 servings of veggies. That is crazy good!

Try not to freak out about the 3 lbs. in 8 days - easier said than done, I know, but you very well could've been retaining water, etc., depending on your cycle, what you'd eaten, etc.

I ended up eating chips and cashews last night. I probably went over on my calories but *fudged* in my nutrition tracker so that I'm still in my range for yesterday. So pissed at myself for having the conversation with myself, "I'm not raelly hungry, I know I'll feel angry at myself if I do this, but I'm going to do it anyway..."

well, I had a pre-planned binge-purge morning. then I ate all my "healthy food" between 10:30 and 1:30 just to be done w/ it. Gained 3 pounds in 8 days. that seems quick. I am unsure of how I feel about it. trying to be more consistent w/ exercise. eating fruits/veg not a problem. I average 9-11 servings per day...

Well, I ate at Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. Yuck - hate that place, but my Mom was in from out of town for a conference w/ coworkers and that's what they picked. Had grilled mahi with coconut sauce and salsa, rice, and veggies, and a diet coke. I added all the components and I think that dinner came to around 600 calories - I'm at 1352 for the day. I could probably have 200 more calories and still be in my range, especially since I went to the gym, but going to try to call it a night on the eating so I don't get used to snacking beyond bed time.

So day one of the challenge and so far so good.

The bad news is I'm back up to 194. My lowest has been 178, but I was steadily 184-186 for the last 3-4 months. Bad bad bad...I am really looking forward to doing this challenge and by Thanksgiving I will be in a routine of making the healthy choices I know I should make!.

Okay, we discussed this in another thread and I'm pretty much copying/pasting from the first challenge back in June. Please sign up and remember - customize to your needs/abilities/goals. The most important part is checking in EVERY DAY so we can keep tabs on ourselves and support one another!

I will be posting daily teeny-goals for this challenge week by week. I may need some help with this, so feel free to brainstorm your ideas for each week's goals. In July, we basically just went with 7 daily goals repeated each week.

Time to kick it up and get some follow through before those bad habits really take hold again during the holidays!

Here are the assignments for the first 7 days:

Thu Nov 1) Eat a piece of fruit today.
Fri Nov 2) Take a 10-15 minute walk outside or a bike ride; if it's a gym/cardio day for you anyway, add an extra 10-15 minutes if you'd rather do that. (But hey, being outdoors is nice!)
Sat Nov 3) If you get the urge to overeat/emotional eat/binge eat today, instead, listen to a kick ass song and drink a glass of water. Share with us what song it was.
Sun Nov 4) Make something healthful (doesn't have to be a Sparkrecipe) and try to make enough to share with a guest or have as leftovers.
Mon Nov 5) Write a SparkPeople blog (or set up a SparkPeople profile Web page if you haven't already).
Tue Nov 6) Try a recipe from SparkRecipes.com and report on it.
Wed Nov 7) Surprise! Do something positive and healthful (mentally or physically) today, such as strength training, medication, etc., and share with your team members on this thread!

This is a work in progress so feel free to post suggestions, customize to your needs, change the daily goals around to accommodate your schedule etc.
