October (just like Sept, Aug, July, and June) was a bust. I type that as I sit here at work eating a cupcake and pie!

well, medications have been screwing up my digestion so eating has been rough. I manage to get the calories in but I am miserable. I lack any desire to exercise. Bills can't get paid b/c my hours got halved. I wrote a letter to my boss in hopes that it will remedy the situation. Weight is crazy. I am eating more but losing weight. I am weak, fatigued, and bruise easily. I am bothered by my bony elbows digging in when I curl up to sleep. I think the meds issue is having an impact on the amount of nutrients being absorbed. But, on pay day (friday) i will get better pills and hopefully have better luck w/ food. Fewer days of ED this month, a few more days of exercise. Not a complete loss.

I've done lousy lousy lousy. I'm not even going to bother getting on the scale for the rest of the month. I think we should do a November challenge, though...maybe not as hardcore as July. Sounds like a lot of us need kicks in the pants!

I got a junky bike hand-me-down and rode it to church and back on Sunday though. About 8 miles rouhnd trip. Proud!

hmmmm...exercised 5-6 days, not for 10-11. Money issues abound--I owe about $500 and don't have it. Meds are making me sick--prozac (which I quit) and prilosec (which I started b/c I can't afford prevacid aka the good stuff.) Unsure of my moods b/c i am not on antidepressants anymore. eating more calories but still dealing w/ bulimia. ick.

I have really screwed up this time. Financially, I need a overhaul. Why do I do this to myself? Since I have gotten behind with the bills, the exercise and diet have not been good, even if it is only about 8 or 10 days....THIS SUCKS!!
I really wanted my rewards!! Maybe next time....story of my life.

Same here, youkneeque. I am hoping that, after this weekend, I'll be inspired to cook more and get back on track. It's like starting all over again, I've been about 3 months (since my Dad's death) eating badly. I am now pushing 190 again. I think my lowest this year was 178. :(

Maybe we could think of a November "handle the holidays" challenge...

I fell off the workout wagon on Sat. and I have a halloween party to go to this sat. And to top it off it is a pimp and ho party.. i hoped my body would be nice and tight for this damn skirt i am wearing but i do not think that is going to happen. But that does mean I get to rock my favorite fishnets though.. on the bright side, i have been really good with the eating.. i have also been really bad with the wallet .. i need to get that back on track

It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something.

I'm doing so awful...half a month left, so there's still hope (I HOPE) to get back in the swing. I feel like I'm starting ALL OVER and struggling like I did when I first started SP. Discouraging...

I got my home laptop back, though, so I will have access to SP and will try to use the boards more for encouragement, ideas, etc.

The boy and I got a bike rack and our tires aired up, too, so maybe we can take bike rides on "off" days.

My goals for October are to get back into the swing of things with drinking water and to get my finances in order. I have been slacking all around, I want to start getting back into things slowly so my first goal is to work my way back to 12 cups a day.

And as far as finances, I'm splitting up with my husband and branching out on my own, I have to figure out what I can afford to pay in rent and maybe look for a second job to help pay off some credit card debt and whatnot.

Babypop - Thanks for sharing that Just For Today stuff. I saved it and printed it, I think its going to come in handy a lot these next couple of months. :)

OK, I screwed up big time (Halloween candy) and my weight is up not down. The worst part is I went to the PM5K and Wednesday 13 shows this past weekend and it kicked my arse. I didn't have the stamina to bounce around for two hours.

So, in preparation for Prong at the end of this month and Hanzel und Gretyl on Nov 17. I'm going to go to the gym every day that I go to work for the rest of this month. No more excuses, it's one thing to be heavy it's another thing for it to interfere in my having a good time!!!

Goals for this month.... sweat atleast 4 days a week, track my cals, and keep up with finances.
Reward for keeping my goals... gage my ears again, new pair of jeans that are not loose, and something Korn.
I think those will be worth the work.

My goal is to get back to the gym! I've been working out on the exercise bike we have at home, but I miss getting up early to go work out. Plus, I usually stay longer when I drive out to the gym. So the goal is to get to the gym at least 3 times a week.

If I can do it all month, I want to reward myself with a date night out with my boyfriend- a real luxury nowadays.

Likewise!

I did pretty well yesterday. I MAY have gone over in calories b/c I didn't measure my peanut butter, but I think I stayed within my range and did no late night eating.

Checking in here works!

It seems like late summer must be a real slump time for people.

I think if I check in to PxRxSxB daily and post my eating for the day, maybe I'll be more likely to stay within my range.

Wow, is it that time again? I have been a major goal slacker lately. Today I set the goal to eat like I did in the hospital and immediately after: 3 meals and a snack at set times, specific exchanges for each food group in each meal. I focus too much on calories right now and it is no good for me. I also need to pay my bills (traffic ticket, doctors, Rx, etc) and buy fewer "extras" (clothes).
Exercise more. I had 19 of 30 days off this month!
rewards: better health and sanity, more energy, less stress.

I'm running low on computer time, but briefly, my goal is to get back on track with my eating habits. I need to come up with a plan to help me stick to this, though. I think it's imperative to do it this month b/c otherwise I'll still be doing bad habits come the holidays. Reward: undecided.

Punk Rock slash and burners should know the drill. For the unacquainted and newbies, I'll fill you in on the short version of this thread.

*Pick a few goals for the month (or even just one day or week at a time)
*Try to have at least one goal that isn't just the broad, "I want to lose x lbs this month." (e.g. getting enough water, stretching, doing x minutes of cardio activity x days per week, handling stress better etc.)
*Here's the tricky part: also try to include a detailed plan of how you will attain your goals. (e.g., if your goal is, "I want to refrain from emotional eating this month," then your specific plan could be, "Instead of eating through my emotions, I'll drink a tall glass of water, and work on a craft project or some other creative endeavor, and post on the SP message board for support.)
*Finally, think of a little reward you'd like to treat yourself to at the end of the month for reaching your goal.

Also, check previous "Mini-Goals" threads to see kind of how they work - it's very informal, and please check up on each other at least once a week! It's how we keep one another motivated.

Finally, here is a corny thing I posted in another thread and have posted in my bedroom and on my desk at work. Please copy it, save it on your desktop, print it put, and put it wherever you can see it if you think it will motivate you!

JUST FOR TODAY: I will live through this day only. I will not brood about yesterday or obsess about tomorrow. I will not set far-reaching goals or try to overcome all of my problems at once.

I know that I can do something for 24 hours that would overwhelm me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. If my mind fills with clouds, I will chase them away and fill it with sunshine.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will accept what is. I will face reality. I will correct those things I can correct, and accept those I cannot.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I'll not speak ill of others. I will improve my appearance, speak softly, and not interrupt when someone else is talking.

Just for today, I will refrain from improving anybody but myself.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will do something positive to improve my health. If I'm a smoker, I'll quit. If I am overweight, I will eat healthfully -- if only just for today. And not only that, I will get off the couch and take a brisk walk, even if it's only around the block.
