Let's see-we're lucky to have a decent hardcore/punk club in town-Hubby's good friend's with the owners.

So, in the last year or so, we've seen The Melvins, AntiSeen, Hank Williams III (yum!), Unknown Hinson, and we've gone to see Reverend Horton Heat, Legendary Shack Shakers, Murder By Death....in a few months we'll see Rev. Horton Heat with Hank III and Nashville Pussy all at the same time!!!

Plus tons of local bands that all seem to have the same band members give or take a few.

Nope, best show EVER: Vans Warped Tour, Ventura 2007!! So awesome! I saw over a dozen bands, in particular: Paramore, Coheed&Cambria, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Bayside, and best of all BAD RELIGION!! I got so sun burned and bruised my ribs during BR (and still hurt half a month later) and it was all worth it. And I got on TV--FUSE's Warped Wednesdays. So hilarious!emoticon

BEST SHOW EVER: Social Distortion.
Mike Ness totally rocks! I have seen them 3 times in 2 years, and the best one was the most recent in Omaha, Nebraska. Best band ever!!!!

I just got 2 messages about the Hyundai Pavillion Project Revolution show at the end of the month. I want to go so bad but haven't been able to get a job so i have no ticket or gas money. I may even have to skip warped and sell my ticket so I can fill my prescriptions and pay my doctors. So very sad.emoticon

Looking forward to Ani DiFranco in Brooklyn this summer (even though she has mellowed).

there are a crap load of shows from tiny hole in the wall venues to giant festivals. So these are some of the shows i've been to in the past year or so: Arctic Monkeys, Blonde Redhead, Broken Social Scene, Cafe Tacuba, Common, The Cure, Flaming Lips, Manu Chao, Mars Volta, Sleater-Kinney, Talib Kweli.

You can make a piñata in the form of a politician or monstrosity (such as the free market, the loyal officer, etc.) and have a piñata party at which, when sufficiently beaten, the piñata spills out party favors such as candies, little books, or invitations to the next special event. Try doing this in a public place during times of unrest.

The last show I went to was Bullet for My Valentine last month and the end of March I went to see Bella Morte. It's been slow this year, but now that summer's here there should be more shows. All though looking at Enter the Vault, it looks like most of them will hit the DC Metro in the Fall so here's my list of who I'll be seeing...

Combichrist in Sept
Prong in Oct
Powerman 5K in Oct/Nov
Kreator in March

I'm out of town for the Wednesday 13 show this summer :-(

I'm thinking about the Manson/Slayer show but it's at the Pavillion and I really prefer club shows so I don't know if I'll spend the $$ or not.

i went to a show this past weekend. it was a hall show of a bunch of local bands. almost every kid in the scene turned out. it was pretty damn sweet. halfway through the second band, the cops showed up and threatened to shut the show down because it is illegal in the state of connecticut to have a show without police (its not, i looked it up). the cop says we will have to hire a police officer to be there and it will cost us $300. the cop then tells us he will be back at the end of the show to drop off the bill. a.k.a. he scammed us out of $300 bucks. my friend JP who put the show together is going to fight it. Thank god both of his parents are lawyers

Just this weekend, my favorite local band Bullistic, got to open for Drowning Pool and Diecast. It was AWESOME!! I'm so proud of those guys getting the opportunity, they rocked thier hearts out! I think Bullistic fans were there in force too. It was great.

I'm not gonna list EVERYTHING 'cause that would take forever, but the BEST show I've ever been to would have to be Pantera, sometime in 2002ish, with Morbid Angel opening. Morbid Angel put on an AMAZING live show.

Dream Theater's touring this summer... I'm definitely road tripping for that one, since they're not coming through Pittsburgh.

I don't get too much of a chance to get out too as many shows as I used to, but I never miss the Bouncing Souls when they come around.

my first real concert was warped tour last year when it came to nashville. saw the fully down, from first to last, joan jett & the blackhearts, and the casualities. almost met jake from the casualities (didn't realize it was him until after they started playing) and i decided not to go to the fftl signing cause sonny was sick (i kick myself now that he quit the band). but it was a pretty good time.

saw the new amsterdams, this is me smiling, humanwine, and we will eat rats to survive all at the subteranen in chicago. i love that place, it's so cool.

i was wanting to see fftl when they come to nashville next month with hawthorne heights, but i don't think i'm going to. i think i'll wait until they've finished the new album and go on tour for it.

Not enough good bands come around here. I am going to see Fall Out Boy tomorrow. Yeah I know, so not punk rock but I can't help it if I have a soft spot for cheesy pop music. TOOL is coming in July, I still haven't decided if I'm going. I've seen them three times already and tickets are $50 each and I hated their last album. I'm going to miss Fall of Troy next week which sucks but there's nothing I can do about that.

Offer them what they secretly want and they of course immediately become panic-stricken. ~ Jack Kerouac

Wow! Kill Hannah and Flyleaf?! So jealous!
My first was in 2004. I had just gotten my liscence in Nov 03, got my car Feb of 04 and in secret drove to Bakersfield. I was about 1 1/2 weeks shy of my 19th b-day. I saw A static Lullaby, Coheed and Cambria and AFI. Sill the best concert to date! I was supposed to be in the seats but managed to bust through and ended up at the front guard rail. Quite impressive! I was shaking and crying with pure joy by the end!
A few days later, a friend took me to hollywood to see Wrangler Brutes, Your Enemy'e Friends, The locust and dillinger escape plan. Decent. Awkward. It was at HOB on sunset.
Next was a local show--no one EVER comes here. There were a few local bands, Her Candane, Lorene Drive, Coretta Scott and headliners Stutterfly. I got autographs and talked to each and every band member of CS and SF. There were probably only thirty of us there--small town. It was FREEZING! February in a fairgrounds hall. It was the third concert I snuck to and I was 21!
Next was Dec 06 in san diego. Amazing!! The living end and unwritten law (boo to UL) opened and taking back sunday, my chemical romance and AFI headlined. So amazing. Long! I got hurt pretty bad in the end but moshing to MCR was so fun! I stayed overnight with two friends who came the previous day for jack's manequin and P!ATD.
Then it was back to bakersfield in march for AFI again. Viva Hate and Deadboy and the elephant man opened. So so very awful. I got a horrible cold and was out of school for a week, but the next sunday was down in san bernardino for Armor for Sleep, Underoath and Taking Back Sunday. That one was so awesome. My neck got a bit messed up though. I was in a daze and sort of stumbling out in the end.
My next one is Warped in Ventura June 30. First timer here. Nervous. Excited.
luckily my dad chilled out on the concert thing and I haven't had to sneak out. He knew about all since december's before they happened.emoticon

well i figured i would post my saturday concert!!!!

the opening act was resident hero (didnt think i would like them but wow the blew me away a really kick a** show they are awesome (even did a cover of rebel yell)

the second act was kill hannah heard them a few time and already knew i liked them so was no surprise when i was flipping out about seeing them mind you we were in a small club not a concert hall so we were within feet of them the lead just kept the crowd stoked plus added affect had a mini laser show with the laser mounted on the guitars was awesome if they come close to you go see them its well worth it

then the main act flyleaf what can i say that little girl has lungs of steel and such a powerful voice OMG all i could do is stand in amazement. (of course my neck still hurts had to headbang)

the closing act was silverstone ( the main one i went to see) i cant say anything negatie about them at all they f**king kick major a**!!!!!!!!!!!! they did a cover of simple man and my oh my i was frozen everyhting was right on not a single off beat the vocals were phenomenal!

I will get the pics put up on my myspace page tuesday so stop by and check them out i will have a slide show of it posted on my profile so no need to go to pics(they are set to private so you will only be able to veiw the slide without adding me as a friend)
