I did pretty well with my "no snack binge" goal for April...probably largely because I switched working hours and am now exercising early, and working in the afternoon. Whatever helps! I've been doing better with exercising daily too.

Well, I have no idea what my weigh-in today will be like, but in the past week, I've been able to get into 3 pairs of jeans (16s!) that I haven't been able to wear for almost 3 years, so even if the numbers aren't going down, I'm doing something right!

As of this past Friday I met my April goal of getting under 190, currently at 189.5 AND it's my time of the month. Sweet!

I will rise up with fists.

I think I will just pretend April didn't exist and start fresh for May. So caught up in bulimia, a bit of anorexia, and apathy towards exercise. Better luck next month. I hope. emoticon

I think I'm going to make my mini goal to start exercising at least 10 minutes a day. I broke down and bought some exercise videos last night and a "beginners yoga" kit, now I just need to use them emoticon

Okay, so I joined the "short but hard" challenge (insert dirty joke here) on the "community challenges" board. The concept is, you post every day, and have to:

1. Stay in calorie range
2. Do 30 min strength or cardio
3. Eat your 5 fruits/veggies
4. Get your 8 glasses of water
5. Pick a "wild card" other thing to work on. I chose spend 10 minutes tidying up my house because it is a sty and when my house is dirty I don't cook (no surfaces in the kitchen) or work out at home (no surfaces to lie down on for crunches).

I figures I need incentive to stick to it, so here's my idea of rewards. Unfortunately, most of the things I want are expensive. But maybe that's just better incentive.

One week: Pedicure (I've nerver had one before, but what the hell, seems like it might be cool)
Two weeks: Cut & color at the rockabilly salon near my house that's awesome but pricy
Three weeks: Brazilian bikini wax
Four weeks: One hour of tattoo work

And of course I can't have any of those things unless I achieve my streak.

not much running lately. It has been ridiculously windy. And yesterday I discovered that 1/4 of my big toenail decided to fold back and break. Ouch. So that prevents exercise. I wore shoes after 24 hours. That made me nervous. We'll see about maybe a walk tomorrow. . .

Okay. So, I have finished my school's fitness challenge. Problem was that I got so busy the past few weeks that I haven't had much time to get to the gym. Then, once I finally did have time, I had a pulled muscle. I'm glad that I did not gain any weight. I will never go a month without weighing in again though. The number on the scale is motivating to see.

Since I didn't make a goal for April yet, I will make one for the last two weeks.
Goal: to get back to regular workout schedule.

April goal time.
It's easier to think of keeping something up for the month cause it's already half over!

I am about to leave town, and I will need to find work pretty soon after arriving there.
So, my goal is to spend at least a half hour every day except Sunday, walking around town, handing out resumes.
I'm scared that once I get to a new town I won't be motivated to exercise because everything will be unfamiliar and I'll be scared to get lost.
I will manipulate necessity, yes I will...

Well, I haven't been binging, I've been munching all day long but staying under my limit. I've been pretty good about doing some kind of exercise every day, really trying to tone up my arms. I'm performing on Saturday, and then again May 5...so that is my motivation. I haven't been working all month so it's been easier than it was while I was working; I start a new job on Tuesday but should be a lot more active than at my last job.

and the cellulite....it is a harsh and stubborn mistress. emoticon

Wow you guys are doing great. Keep it up ! I have still yet to get my big bum out the door for my walks but im keeping up my cycling and weight lifting oh yea and my crunches. I am just so afraid of the sunlight and dark well where I live there are no street lights so that leaves me the break of the day which would be awesome if I could catch it to go walking. Carol,

That's awesome that you're running now! That is something I aspire to...I just can't seem to fully run, unless I'm doing laps in my den.

Maybe that will be my goal for May---being able to run a 5K.

Aaaaaahh!!! I ran 6 consecutive minutes tonight! Hooray! I even think I could have done more had I not eaten a large meal two hours before. I was set to just walk, but felt pretty darn good after a while of walking, so I ran. For more than 2 or three minutes! I am happy-and a few minutes closer to a 5k.

I guess I need to change my goal a little....I DID run for two miles on the treadmill tonight without walking at all! It definitely wasn't speed running as I passed the two mile mark at just under 28 minutes but YAHOOO!! Sooooo...I guess my April goal is to either completey run the 5K (3.11 miles) with no walking on the treadmill OR to take my big butt outside and try to run the two miles without walking. There...I'll give myself the option of two choices to meet my new April goal!

Tonight I had a nice big dinner at Raffertys (blackened mahi, salad, croissant, and veggie medley. I didn't finish "all" of anything but salad and croissant. I like that their veggies aren't soaked in butter. Had enough calorie deficit for 12 caramel rice cakes. YAY!

Sorry to double post. I gotta keep myself going on the right path, though!

Well I am really proud of myself right now. If have given in to my old habit of munching on unhealth stuff (chips, sugary granola bars, etc) while bedding down watching TV. Got back from a ball game last night and didn't do it even though I really wanted to. So I will be able to eat pretty much whatever today and not already be down to eating only 700-1000 calories before even waking up for the day!

I would like to take some time for myself and my body this month. Even though I have been working like 8 hours a day on this new house I'm losing nothing.
I want to get back on track with my cardio, and weights. I know I do not lose unless I do tons of weight training. One on, one off for me baby.
I have been drinking my water like crazy, I want to keep with that.
I want to get back into spark. I missed you guys.

I want to get down to 130 lbs by the end of April. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I want to add a 15 minute walk at lunch 3x a week. I'm going to try to do 100 sit ups/crunchs and 30 push ups every day. And, I want to continue the habit of planning meals each week.

Since I didn't get to last month's goal, I will repeat the reward...a new pair of jeans.

Hey Jewel!

It's always easier at the starting line, isn't it? LOL!! But this isn't a sprint to lose weight, it's a marathon to get healthy.

Your first mini goal is awesome: "stay within range"...you can do that. But what do you mean by "exercise more"? How much more? For a mini goal to be reachable, it has to be specific. I'll bet if you re-think that exercise goal and put down something you can actually do (eg. I will add a 15 minute walk three days a week), you will see some results!

Good luck!!

I would like to get some sort of electrical device created for my fridge, cubbords and couch to out put about 200 volts when i try to use them. How come it seemed so easy the first week and then the little "oh this is ok to eat ill do better tomorrow" Started to creep in. My mini is to stay within range and exercise more.

Goalsies:
160 - new handbag
150 - new tattoo, botanical print.
140 - new pants. Nice ones not just cheapies from Target.

I joined one of those crazy boot camp things where they kick your ass 4 days a week for 6 weeks. So my goal for April is to do that, and get some exercise the other 3 week days as well. And if I'm not out of the 170s at the end of that, I don't know what!

My reward for that will be fitting a whole bunch of totally awesome clothes that I haven't fit in ages. It will be like Christmas. And having the energy to go out to Death Guild and Bondage a Go Go and other clubs that I love but have been too wiped out to actually haul my butt to. Any other SF folks on this list? My goal for April is to stop binging on snacks after I get home in the afternoon, and exercise or practice belly dance instead.

reward = hopefully more toned, less cellulite.

My goal is to get to the gym three days a week ALL MONTH LONG!! No excuses.

My reward will be a pedicure, just in time for sandal season!

I want to be under 175 by month's end. I don't need a reward---that in itself will make me happy. At 173 I'll have a "normal" BMI.

You know the drill!

My goal is to lose 6-8 lbs. from whatever I am on April 1 (Sunday), with official weigh-ins remaining on Tuesday. In addition to this, my goal is to add one day of nautalis weight circuit training (to do on Sundays.)

I will do this by drinking plenty of H20, getting fruits and veggies, planning what I eat, and getting a variety of water.

My reward will be either another haircut or - more likely - a Louisville Slugger (or getting my bike fixed...). Probably one of the last two.
