Oh, I also wanted to mention that while it's not specifically for punk/goth/metal/whatever, if you dig through their stuff, you can often find some really phenomenal clothes at www.zaftique.com. That's actually my favorite place online to shop.

You need to do some clicking around to find out what's offered in plus size and what isn't, and read their sizing info closely . . . they're very LA. In some brands, an XL is a 10 (!!!). But in others, they offer a 2XL that's a sexy 16-18, and worth the somewhat high pricing, as the clothes are well made. I have an XL Halloween costume dress from them that's a stetchy 16 that I've worn to Burning Man for 3 years now, it's still holding up. And oh my does it get me attention of the right sort!

They have some great retro clothing-especially dresses, but the sizes do run a little small (a 1X is the equivalent of a size 14 dress or so). You can special/custom order items, but I'm not sure of the cost.

Of course there's Torrid - http://www.torrid.com

If only it had existed while I was still in high school, I would have had somewhere to shop other than the Salvation Army or Lane Bryant.

Do you know about Velvet Garden? It's pretty awesome . . . a peer-to-peer resale site. Not just plus-size, but has a fair bit. I've bought some really amazing goth & fetish stuff there really cheap. they have men's clothes too, it varies a lot week to week, just watever happens to be on offer:

http://www.velvetgarden.net

Also, I know this is kind of obvious, but I've had really good luck just going on eBay and typing in really specific search strings, like "Lip Service XXL." A lot of "normal" people buy expensive cool clothes for an event like Halloween or a fetish party, wear them once, and then sell them cheap on eBay. Also there's folks like us who are losing weight and need to sell off our beloved cool things once we shrink out of them!

If anyone is looking for a retro swimsuit this site has them Esther-Williams-style and in sizes 6 to 16, and plus 16 to 26.

Largeness should not exclude you from loving, eating, dancing, swimming, running or involving yourself in the millions of activities you have put on the back burner until the slim you arrives. Life doesn't start with slimness or stop at anything larger. Life is for living with as few personal impediments as possible.

Hi everyone.

To try and get this team more active I figured it might be nice to share any places online you have found that cater to larger sizes. I know I would really appreciate info on places with goth/rockabilly and alternative clothes to tide me over for the upcoming months till the weight comes off. Just because I'm big doesn't mean I don't want to look good!

So ladies (and gents!) any links would be wonderful, thank you muchly.
