This might sound dumb but the little things I've done so far have totally made me feel like a million bucks. I am 6 days into this and on Monday I went to the mall with a friend and even though I was standing in front of Taco Hell, I turned and hit Subway. I didn't hit the ice cream stand or any form of dessert afterwards. And even though there is a woman selling water ice in my office building every day, I haven't touched a drop of it since I started. I have a couple dark chocolate M&M's when I have that urge and so far it's holding me down. I'm also shocked at how much I have been busting my ass with cardio! I hope I can keep this up, my biggest fear is trying my hardest but still failing.

ok ok ok so I know I already bragged about yesterday. Butta yeah I beat a personal record today and I just had to brag owhn again...Just got back from the gym, and I did an hour on the elliptical. 1 hour at my age weight = 700 cals. Nice!!!!! I started out setting my timer at 30 mins and just kept increasing it. My mindset was I can do just 5 more mins, and then again and again. When I got so close to burning 700 cals I did not want to stop until I reached that goal. I have been pushing really hard and am supa proud.

Great job Violet
I went to the gym yesterday and did 15 mins on the treadmill, and 45 on the elliptical. For the first time I really really pushed myself as far as I could go on the elliptical. Its usually hard but this time I almost passed ou, and puked. lol...So I think that I will be going a bit easier on it today. I finally stretched properly so I'm not all knotted up today. I plan on doing 45 on the elliptical today and some strength training as well. So much for a frek'n day of rest. :P

I stayed within my calorie range yesterday (a big feat for me), brought my lunch to work, AND stayed after to work out. :)

oooooooo I hurts. heh I went to the gym this morning and so 40 mins on the elliptical. I am rockin a huge knot in my calf, and I'm a little sore from Saturday still, but I'm proud of myself for getting up early and going this morning before work. Next time I'll be sure to stretch better.

K guys I wanted to bring back this section of the forum. So that we can brag about what we have accomplished. Furthermore, to give motivation and support to those who may need it. I always find it better to keep a journal of my progress because it keeps things well progressive.
This morning I did 45 mins on the elliptical, and another 30 on upper body circuit at the gym. Feeling awesome, and quite proud today. Im ready to get back in the game. :)

With that said sweat owhn.

okay so i know i have been hiding for a while, but i found a weight loss clinic here and started it! I like it becuse i have to report to someone every two weeks to weigh, get a b12 shot(love this) and they look over what i have been eatting. Today is my weigh in and i am going to go ahead and brag now becuase i have a good feeling about it. I think i have lost around 12 pounds so far but i havent weighed in a couple of days. wish me luck ladies :)

oh shoosh you! its my turn, i got on my elliptical last night and did 40 mins of it, considering i only bought it the day before i was very proud. i did 20 mins thismorning and i'm thinking i'm about to jump on again and work off some lunch!
challenge sounds allright. is it ok if i do my crunches on a ball? or is that cheeting? anyhow. the water isn't a problem, if i drink anymore of the damn stuff i will drown!!! its all i really drink.

lol...Well I got more braggin to do baby. I did 30 mins on muh bike. Then 35 on the Gazelle. Um upper body weights....and dun dun dun 100 crunches....YAY..ugh heh
So I'm super tired but I feel good, like I am getting back on track. I have been about 1000 calories these last 2 days so I stoked...

As for the challege. I was thinking everyone could so 3-5 cardio workouts each week (at least 30 mins and or more) and 50-100 crunches every other day depending upon what you can do. A water challenge to see how is getting their 8 a day.

Now we just need to come up with structure. Any takers?
Hoorah...hehe

i know that jumping rope is good exercise but i would have to do it inside. i wouldn't want to freak out the neighbours. on the other hand i can see myself getting tangled up on the ceiling fan if i did it inside, how would i explain that one to the husband when he gets home from work to find me hanging from the ceiling. ha ha.
i was very good this morning and went for a walk even though it was raining a little.

Yeah, I spared the neighborhood the side pony, but now I'm thinking that I should have worn hot pink legwarmers. On a side note there was no running to be had for me today, Victoria got a freak dumping of snow, and god knows we weren't prepared. We barely ever get snow. I was forced to crack out the jump rope, inside the house I might add, just to get my exercise in. My dog was terrified, heck if I could see me I probably would have been terrified.

have a great sunday everyone

Drooly,
Heh if running could be accomplish in moon boots I would be buying a silver pair. It's about time running had some janky fashion. I clean house in plaid pants, chucks, and some braless tee, and not to forget the sideways ponytail, but thankfully no one has to see it. Come on ever curves need one of those corner crazy girls o_O..hehe Not that I belong to curves or anything, I have enough curves that I do not have to share my ass space with anyone else's.

No DRAMA FRIENDS????

You'd better mean friends that overreact to life and cause unnecessary situations by playing head games...the theatre is in my blood, and I'd hate to have to not be friends...LOL! emoticon

Here is my brag for the day. I weighed myself at my mom's, and I am below my target weight! Whoop! And I was away with my mate all weekend, trying not to over-eat in fancy romantic restaurants...I thought I was going to be up a pound or two, but I guess all that walking we did counteracted the nut-brown ale and all.

i agree, don't bring the temptation into the house. grapes are a good snack, i also eat a lot of apples, they replace the 'crunch' of the chips.

Smashing Pandora - sure there is! I joined a roller derby league that a bunch of us started by ourselves, like 20-40 year old women and we're doing it! You could do the same thing with women's soccer. DIY from scratch, start training, form a team, recruit, form another team, fundraise, get some sponsors, put on games... and so on..
Or just join roller derby! LOL

(Cheaper too since all you need is a soccer ball, a field and some shoes)

Derby Luv to ya!

Pam, don't ya just hate drama friends. I could so do without them. Do you do Yoga? I love yoga for my stretching and it calms me a lot.
As far as the baked chips..... do you want me to go there? Maybe I shouldnt if you're having a bad day.
Well Here it goes .... My suggestion anyway.
Don't buy baked chips.... buy something like grapes. This way you wont have the chips to turn to. Its funny cause I buy the grapes and in times I wanna snack I just dont eat anything because at times like those grapes dont work like chips do.
*hugs*

Firstly though, I want to do some stretching to calm myself. I've had MORE than enough drama for the first few MINUTES I've been awake.

JUST SAY NO TO DRAMA "FRIENDS"... THEY WILL ONLY BRING YOU DOWN...

I've never enjoyed the act of running... I like other physical activities that sometimes involve it, but it alone really bores me :)

I liked soccer and all that when I was in HS. Sad there's no reason or way to get involved in something like that now.

Great job, its so hard to push ourselves when we would rather be lazy. I had to do that also. I got in 60 minutes of aerobics and I didnt want to exercise, but I did.

Here's my brag for yesterday. I went to my modern dance class, even though I was really tired and would have rather sat on my ass on the couch.

That one and a half hours of stretching, intense muscle work, and aerobic activity. Woot!

Good stuff guys, *claps*
Um yesterday my friend and I took off early and when small time shopping. We walked around for about 6 hours with lunch somewhere in there. I don't know if I can count that as exercise but I'm claiming it anyway. Plus the girl I went with is giving me her gazelle..Nisssssse... That should round out my home gym pretty well. I have a treadmill, exercise bike, and various workout tools so I should be good. I do it all at home because I can't afford to spare anytime. I work and go to school fulltime and have a son. So magically my time disappears.

Congrats on the PT test, I know I couldnt do it! Well at least not yet.
So last night I went and got claim jumper for dinner. I was torn all day thinking about what I should eat, or well telling myself what I shouldnt eat..... and ..... drum roll..... I ordered a salad. OMG it was so good. It was the chicken citrus salad. It had apples, cranberries, and mandarin oranges and a grilled chicken breast. I plowed that down... and I mean plowed. I kept looking at my daughter and saying do not eat like this baby. LOL But it was so good. I think I will try to make my own at home. I didnt even use dressing because it was tasty enough with all the fruit.

Slacking is allowed if you are sick, but you know what is really good for you if you are sick? Water!! So you can feel like you are doing something good for yourself, even if you are stuck on the couch!

Went for a walk with my friend yesterday morning, and managed to not eat any seconds for supper, even though we had company. Then, later in the evening when my husband was snacky and offering to make me a cheese-melt, I said, "No thanks."

For me this is huge. I love late night snacking, and turning it down and feeling good about the choice instead of ripped off was awesome!

Nice...I did 18 mins on the bike just to get some cardio in, but my legs started burning from the treadmill yesterday. I did 75 crunches 25 pushups, and some of those bend from side to side with 5lbs dumbells..heh that kinda hurts. I'm pretty proud of myself I have done cardio 3 days in a row. I have to say I dig strength training a bit more than cardio. I feel like I get more out of the weights, it makes me breathe hard. I guess I'm not pushing myself enough on the cardio then..meh anyway thats mamma's brag for the day

I am off to a slow start on my water today so it wont be that high. I do yoga 2-3 times a week and yes most of the time it raises my heart rate a bit and I will break a small sweat. I have noticed a huge difference in my strength and flexability since I started. I do yoga when I dont wanna work out or dont have much energy to move around. Its perfect for my morning workout. However I would not replace it with all my cardio. I know it would not have the same effect.

Mandy,
Great job!!! I just got around to the 2o mins on the treadmill and 50 crunches. Do you feel the yoga? Does it get your heartbeat up like cardio? Sounds way more fun than the treadmill..OOOO and holy hell I can't believe you drank that much water..*claps*

Nice Cowpunk.
I had mine as well. Some decaf and sugar free tea as 2 glasses. We can count that right?

I figure I would create this thread where we could all keep each other motivated by posting what we did each day..Also if we have lost anything during the week.

Today I did 22 (hey those 2 mins count) on the dreadmill, 50 crunches, and about an hour and a half of vigorious cleaning...that may be good for like 350 cals..*crosses fingers*
