I'm new - my name's Rachel and I'm currently trying to kick compulsive eating for good. I've been doing it pretty much all my life and have always been 'chubby', except for several years of eating disorders in my late teens, and very early twenties (I'm now 24).
I'm currently doing an MA in Creative and Critical Writing at Sussex Uni, Brighton. I play the drums in a band with my boyfriend and a mate. I'm a member of the women's group at uni and am an active feminist and I'm also vegetarian (and have been since I was 12). Bands I'm listening to a lot right now are the Weakerthans, Ani DiFranco and Deep Purple, along with a loooot of others!
My goal is to eat and exercise using my own common sense and, most importantly, NOT use food as a way to crush down emotions. I've got quite a big problem with depression, and I know that not compulsively eating, losing weight and exercising will all help (especially exercising!).
I've also got two goals - I'm going on a family holiday with my mum, dad, sister and our boyfriends - there'll be a swimming pool, and I want to feel confident! Also, I want to go a 10k race in London before we go. Eeep!
