My mini-goal is to eat at home 6 out of 7 nights. I will do this by driving straight home after work with no stops. If I reach my goal I will get some springy new highlights at the salon (hope to lose 2 more pounds to reach 121-my 10 pound loss mark). I've been doing well so far and hope to continue this.

I gained 2 lbs. last weigh in. :( Hopefully I'll have at least lost that or at least get back to square one.

My mini-goal starts tomorrow and goes through the end of the month. It is to be getting at least 30 minutes of cardio at least 5 days a week. Exercise is what I have the hardest time with, and I really need to be held accountable to keep up with it. I would also like to see the scale at 165 by the end of the month.

Well, teh inevitable happened. I ate like a sloth and gained 2 lbs. in a week. You know despite my best efforts I CANNOT have chips and snack foods (except for granola bars which I take to work) in the house...just TOOOO tempting. I like to have them around to eat with sandwiches, etc, but just too tempting to binge on them.

I forgot to enter my goal. I'd like to be down to at least 178 by the end of the month. I'm going on vacation at the end of the month/beginning of next, so my reward will simply be giving myself a week "off" of freaking out about my workouts and food choices for that week in April. (I don't think I'll meet my goal, though...)

Lose some holiday pudge that's still hanging around so I can fit back into a couple pairs of my pants.

Don't eat anything I will regret the next day (in other words no more night binging)

I've been shifting towards a vegan diet so I'm going to continue that & try for 80-100% vegan.

And I have belly dance performances coming up in the next few months so that is my motivation (& reward, photo ops!!) to take care of my body!

try not. do, or do not. there is no try - yoda

I've come to terms with the fact that I can't give up sugar completely, so I've decided my goal is no sugar at work. Here's my plan:

I'm tracking six things and attaching monetary value to each. At the end of the month I will add up all the negatives and positives separately. I'll subtract the negatives from the positives. What's left in my positive group will go toward something fun, like new tights or a book or something. The total negative amount goes to charity.

- Pass the giant bowl of Kisses in the lobby: +$0.25
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator: +$0.25
- Pass on free goodies around the office: +1.00
- Give in to the Kisses: -$0.25/each
- Give in to the vending machine/convenience store: -$1.00
- Give in to the free office goodies: -$1.00

Public Service Announcement:

loose: not rigidly fastened or securely attached ("loose clothing")

lose: to fail to keep, sustain, or maintain ("lose weight")

Love,
PPC

Try a half cup of frozen yogurt for a treat or bake up some low fat, low calorie cookies and eat one of them. That might work emoticon

Mini-goals:
Get my second highschool unit done.
Lose at least 5lbs
Finish my oil painting
Walk more

ok, march, here we go! of course i want to continue my 5lb a month loss, but more importantly, i need to focus on my emotional eating.

i eat cheese when i'm lonely
chocolate when i'm depressed
and ice cream to reward myself.

so, time for a new reward (any ideas?)
time to deal with loneliness.
and time to feel happy.

i went for a long walk today and mapped some things out in my head, march is emotional eating month, april is going to be fitness month.

Maybe you started 2008 with a fresh outlook for your health and fitness. Spring is coming and everything old is new again. That means the OLD YOU, too! Use this thread to help you either continue momentum you've built in January and February, or to brush yourself off and push forward if you found yourself reverting to old bad habits. Use this month to build on your strengths and to challenge yourself on your weaknesses!

Established Punk Rock slash and burners should know the drill. For the unacquainted and newbies, I'll fill you in on the short version of this thread.

*Pick a few goals for the month (or even just one day or week at a time)
*Try to have at least one goal that isn't just the broad, "I want to lose x lbs this month." (e.g. getting enough water, stretching, doing x minutes of cardio activity x days per week, handling stress better etc.)
*Here's the tricky part: also try to include a detailed plan of how you will attain your goals. (e.g., if your goal is, "I want to refrain from emotional eating this month," then your specific plan could be, "Instead of eating through my emotions, I'll drink a tall glass of water, and work on a craft project or some other creative endeavor, and post on the SP message board for support.)
*Finally, think of a little reward you'd like to treat yourself to at the end of the month for reaching your goal.

Also, check previous "Mini-Goals" threads to see kind of how they work - it's very informal, and please check up on each other at least once a week! It's how we keep one another motivated.

Finally, here is a corny thing I posted in another thread and have posted in my bedroom and on my desk at work. Please copy it, save it on your desktop, print it put, and put it wherever you can see it if you think it will motivate you!

JUST FOR TODAY: I will live through this day only. I will not brood about yesterday or obsess about tomorrow. I will not set far-reaching goals or try to overcome all of my problems at once.

I know that I can do something for 24 hours that would overwhelm me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. If my mind fills with clouds, I will chase them away and fill it with sunshine.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will accept what is. I will face reality. I will correct those things I can correct, and accept those I cannot.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I'll not speak ill of others. I will improve my appearance, speak softly, and not interrupt when someone else is talking.

Just for today, I will refrain from improving anybody but myself.

JUST FOR TODAY: I will do something positive to improve my health. If I'm a smoker, I'll quit. If I am overweight, I will eat healthfully -- if only just for today. And not only that, I will get off the couch and take a brisk walk, even if it's only around the block.
