hi there babylon! i ate a lot of vegetarian foods as a child due to my religion. so after i had my first baby, becoming vegetarian was an easy transition. i became a vegan for two weeks and lost a lot of weight! i doubt i will become vegan again, but we drink soy milk at our house. i have a one year old, and he has had very little whole milk. actually, probably about two cups! i get the vanilla so it's a little sweeter. my daughter will even drink it! she is a major milk drinker! my husband isn't interested in giving up meat, but he will eat vegetarian meals. anyway, welcome to the group! it would be nice to get a little more active, but i think it'll come with time.

I am enjoying this site and hope that soon we will attract a few more people and become slightly more active. But one of the things that I like about the site is that it is still small not getting out of hand.
I've been a vegetarian since I was a teenager; I'm 30 now. I haven't always been in the best shape, but I've never been overweight or had any serious health issues and I know that my vegetarianism has been a major factor in that.
I aspire to veganism, but I still eat eggs, cheese, yogurt, sour cream and cottage cheese. Milk was easy to cut out since there are so many better-tasting alternatives and once I stopped drinking it, it really started to seem gross.
I look forward to supporting each other's vegetarian health goals.
