I think this is really more about a personal choice. I take a supplement that is a vegetarian supplement but not a vegan one. It has an ample supply of B12, D, and many other necessary vitamins. Should you take one that excludes dairy products, that's something you'll have to determine for yourself. Many health and fitness gurus claim that you can get all the nutrients you need without taking any supplements. Strict vegans don't take anything that includes animal products. I would say that about 90% of the foods and drinks I have are vegan. You have to figure out what it is that you are comfortable with. Here is the supplement that I take:
