That sounds great, I will look into it more. I have a day care kid with Aspergers as well, and also a child with that the frontal lobe is not growing. So I am working diet therapy with both of them, as well as myself.

5 minutes sounds too good, have you ever made this gluten free, have been working with that for my son with Aspergers.

Just google Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. You can find the whole wheat or the white bread recipe demonstrated on youtube. The first day it takes longer than 5 minutes but once you put together the dough, it takes no kneeding and the bread is really good. I highly recommend the book. I make bread every day now.

The Budwig Sauce has no real flavor but the berries and nuts is what you really taste. The Kefir that I am using is a strawberry flavor and also you can add honey if you want. I like it, its smooth and really keeps me full for a long time.

The cottage cheese mix sounds really good.

Is there a site for the healthy bread in 5 min? That sounds great and I could fit in 5 min for fresh bread.

I had veg rice soup with miso for lunch.

I have been starving all morning. Must be my body hearing the words that I am going stricter or something. emoticon So had a snack of 12 raw almonds.

No, I do the same with old fashion oats, oat bran, add craisins and honey. Will try adding them and see how I like it, bought but have read that it takes so long to cook, have not used them.

Believe it or not, there is a huge controversy about how to cook steel cut oats to be able to eat them. I once published on a forum that I do not cook them but just add them to my oats - (i like the chewiness of them) and I had many people tell me that I did not know what I was using that I did not have steel cut oats at all because in their opinion you need to cook steel cut oats for 1/2 hour to make them soft enough to eat.

Well..... I have steel cut oats. they are little hard bits. I do not cook them. I do not cook whole oats either. I HATE mushy oatmeal. When I make my breakfast of oatmeal. I just add old fashioned oats and steel cut oats to a bowl and pour over it a little boiling water. I add the fruit or agave nectar and let it sit for almost no time at all. Then i pour on a little soy or almond milk and eat.

I love it this way. But if you like a real cooked oatmeal you can cook them for about 1/2 hour until they soften.

Breakfast for me was a mix of oats, steel cut oats, and Kashi go-lean cereal. I pour over a little boiling water and let is sit a minute and then add 1/4 C of Almond milk and a little agave nectar.

Lunch was Veggie Lentil Stew (Lentils, Sweet potatoes, gold potatoes, carrots, peas and onions in a vegetable stock gravy, spices - curry, garam masala, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, a dash of cloves, salt and pepper to taste and 1 t of molasses) served with homemade wheat bread from Healthy Bread in 5 Minutes a Day.

It is taking Cottage Cheese and Flax Oil and blending it together, then adding the berries and nuts. I wrote a blog on this sometime back.

I too have to re-commit to healthy foods after this weekend..

I ate vegan pizza for supper today (on white crust.. oh no)and did not get my 3 servings of fruit and 5 servings of veggies in. My electrolytes will be off tomorrow and I will be all bloated.. (I hate supplements but need to take potassium and magnesium before bed.)

Too many servings of home made whole wheat bread with low sugar preserves and baked pita chips. I like the Kangaroo brand Baked Pita chips and when they are in the house I eat too many of them.

I really try to stay away from processed foods but...

I will do better tomorrow.. I still have a big pot of vegetable soup in the fridge and I will make a pot of Lentil Sweet Potato Stew for supper.

We had graduation parties all weekend. So I haven't been eating very well, tried to stay with veggies and fruit. But it definitely wasn't macro foods.
So tomorrow I am hoping to go back to try to be more strict. I am having to many symptoms showing up.
One goal I will try to add in is my miso soup very day.

It is sad that the chat room hasn't been used for over a year.

I just found this site about a month ago. I have been eating mostly whole foods for my health for many years. But I am starting to really struggle with trying to maintain a good diet.

Looking for support and a buddy to encourage and work together with to get and stay healthy.
