I drank hot green tea on the way in this morning. Then grapefruit, whole grain pumpkin pancakes, with vanilla yogurt on top instead of syrup. Then I snacked on a tangerine a couple hours later. The cold weather made me hungry this morning.

Yes - very generous servings. I usually give my husband about 2/3 of it because he doesn't like to eat breakfast, but will drink it. I then have toast with my part.

My husband & I are stuck on green smoothies. In my vitamix I mix a cup or 2 of soymilk, a couple of frozen bananas, about 1/2 a can of pineapple in juice and a handful of spinach leaves.

Nature's Path Flax-Soy-Blueberry cereal with plain yogurt on it in place of milk (I don't really like milk). Keeps me going until lunch break!
To DeeAnn8 re: how to choose a pineapple. Look for one that isn't too green and hard but you don't want one that feels soft and mushy either. I look for some golden coloring starting to appear under the green cast of the skin. **If you pluck one of the leaves from the top it should come right out.** That is a good indication that the pineapple is ripe.

Part of an Acai berry smoothie.

I had read and heard some things about acai that were interesting. I had a chance to try some acai-blueberry juice at Sweet Tomatoes and enjoyed it.

I wasn't about to pay the hyped-up prices for it.

My produce co-op sometimes has access to last-minute bargains. I wasn't getting produce this week, but I did sign up for two cartons of smoothies.

Each carton is 6 x 10+ oz. organic acai smoothies. For $7.50.

I drank part of one on the way home. I wish I had bought more!

Flo

I've decided to curb my use of All Bran because of the sodium content. Instead I've started using a combination of salba seeds, ground flax seeds and wheat bran. All the fiber, none of the sodium.

I typically have dinner for breakfast. Sometimes, I'll have cereal or fruit, but I still will eat a serving of vegetables or a salad with it. Something about starting my day with some Kale or mixed veggies really does give me a great boost.

Tina, the carrot raisin drink is in the book and it has yogurt in it too. I use the Dannon all natural vanilla.

I REALLY want to get some pineapple now -- I could use those anti-unflammatory properties. ;-)

Lately I've been trying to up my intake on calcium, so for breakfast: 1 cup plain regular yogurt, blueberry's/or other fruit, ground flax and honey. I'll add some cereal, too. The yogurt helps my tummy problems.
Yes, sometimes it's hard to pick a nice pineapple!
My friends told me it's also good for inflammation in the body which sometimes I have due to some arthritis.

I've never tried a carrot/raisin drink, I'll have to try that sometime, since I also have a vitamix.

Fresh fruit most of the time especially in the summer. I make a fresh fruit salad of blueberries, raspberries or strawberries (which ever I have on hand) and add a sliced banana, grapes and whatever fruit I have. I mix in alittle splenda and I sometimes will add one of the single serving cups of sugar free peaches to juice it up! And will have a piece of dry toast with it. YUM!!

Hmmm... sounds good. I drooled over the pineapple in the store last night, but none responded well to the tip I got in the thread the other day on how to select a good one... so I decided not to take the chance on getting a bad one.

We have strange breakfast habits in our house. This morning I want the leftover mixed veggie salad(cucumbers, tomato, onion, radish, brynza cheese and mayo) from last nights supper, marinated mushrooms(must be a pregnancy thing),whole grain bread and hot tea. emoticon

Getting discouraged?
Lift something equal to the weight you've lost and carry it around for awhile

Once choice at a time per day
will make your new life style become reality !
