Fleas are a pain . they are hard to kill and hard to rid the house off . last year they took over my daughters home .You could not walk through her home without them attacking you . the dogs where covered with bites and the cats had many spots that showed bites . she ended up bombing her home . no i know it sounds like she blow it up but it was some sort of spay you set off in the home . you had to leave and the pets could not be in the home as you did the spraying . worked . dont know how much they cost . first we tried a light and a bowl of water with soap in it . overnight . yeah it took quite a bit of them away . not all . good luck .

we use dish detergent as a bath, it will be difficult to do both house & dogs @ the same time but salt is a great idea, maybe sprinkle on carpeting during the day & vacuum when you get home. Don't forget the pets bedding, and get under the couches & small crevices ... Good luck!

You have the same idea as mine -- that cleansing the house is very important. Borax is chemically similar to salt and the sprinkle/vacuum process really helps so much.
My current cats refuse to be bathed, absolutely & totally this will not happen with them. I have tp use drops. In the past I have had excellent results as my cats would consent to a bath, but that was another round of felines. Bathing any cat is easier said than done!!
Ahhhh....Fleas...such nasty little pests! I would suggest two great simple ingredients that just about anyone would have on hand. Dish Soap...and Salt. There is a good website at www.indestructables.com that tells you how to use those ingredients. It's inexpensive and seems to work. Give your pet a good bath with the soap and lather them up well.It will kill the fleas. Second...you have to get rid of the fleas in your home...otherwise the fleas jump right back onto your pet. Using salt around the baseboards and on your carpet is another way to get rid of them. It dehydrates them. You may have to do this a few times before you get them all. You also want to attack the ones that may be on your lawn. When you or your pet go outside, these little pests will hitch a ride into your home. Spraying your lawn with diluted soap is a good way to go too. Remember...they wont dissappear overnight, but with a little persistance, you will get rid of them.

I use drops on my cats but I sometimes get a houseful of fleas. I sprinkle 20 mule team borax everywhere, leave it a couple of days, then vacuum it up. No more fleas in the house! But I have to keep up with the drops, which I buy in bulk online.
Not much help. Keep the ones in the house down and it may help.
How you do anything is how you do everything...but don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
We have 3 dogs and need a cheaper flea remedy that comfortis it's 15 dollars a month apiece !
