If you keep even casual track of me and my spark journey, you might remember that, a couple of months ago, I posted a status update about an embarrassing episode that occurred in one of my acting classes. In a series of nuclear ice breakers meant to get us ready to be vulnerable and able to reveal our most private selves, our teacher asked us to line up according to various highly personal, often sensitive, statistics such as religion, sexual orientation, age, mental health, relationship status, social class, past drug use, happiness...
I realize that to the non-actor, this might sound like abuse bordering on torture. But it opened us up to each other in a satisfying way that is rare outside families and intimate relationships, and I actually thoroughly enjoyed sharing myself with my classmates in this way... UNTIL she made us line up by... (guess?)... body weight.
