Hey Anne! Congrats on the Farmers Market trip! One meal at a time right? I know that when I was doing my best meal planning, I concerned myself with getting enough fruits, veggies, fiber and found that I didn't have much time to feel deprived...

My SO and I transitioned to all organic this year...phew. We joined a consumer supported agriculture (CSA) farm here. We pay up front at the beginning of the season for a "share" and every week we go pick up whatever is in the share. Summer is abundant so today there were red potatoes, green beans, broccoli, zucchini and yellow squash, lettuce, greens, apples, onions and garlic, corn... SCORE! This has helped me with my goals to go organic and to support local farms, so I'm happy. And, now I always have fresh something on hand so I seem to be getting a better variety of nutrients.

Now, if I would only get some of my frequent meal into my planner so I could plan again! One step at a time I guess!

Hang in there everyone!

Welcome to the group Befrom.

I am in the same position as you. I lost about 30 pounds quite quickly in a year. Then nothing.

My husband and I went to the Farmers' Market this morning and bought a ton of veggies. I have made a slow cooker meal for dinner tonight. I am going to try really hard to eat mostly veggies with beans as protein for the next while. I have cut up veggies for snacks.

Hi all. I was away from SP for several months and just over the past month or so have begun to get back into it. I lost 35 pounds last year and have kept it off, but have not lost more. I know it's because I'm not doing a good job planning. I like the SparkStreaks feature. I'm using it right now to track some goals I have with supplements and other good habits and it is inspiring me. I hope to get some of my frequent recipes and food groupings loaded soon so I can do a better job with meal planning. I'm not usually very good at keeping up with the team but I'm going to try!

Hi,
I'm Anne. I have lost 24 pounds since the last week of April. I noticed someone mentioned aqua fit and lap swimming. I love these too. My daughter and I swim at a relative's pool in the summer. My husband and I walk. It is often icy here this time of year so most of my exercise is on a stationary bike. We do weight lifting a couple of times a week.

Welcome, Karen. Our sp class is kind of quiet. I still check in, though. How are things going for you since April? I've been making slow, but steady, progress toward my goal.

HI! I have been meaning to join this team forever and somehow kept forgetting! Finally I am here! I am a married mother of 1 great little girl and I work full time outside of the home. I love meeting people and my latest obsession is water aerobics/lap swimming. I have crappy knees so this is ideal for me! LOL

Hi Everyone I am Lianne I joined here back in april just forgot to introduce myself. I joined spark thru one of my other diet sites the good mood diet. I joined because I wanted to one keep in touch with others that are following my diet and get motivation and support from people. I have found groups on bipolar that have been so helpful to me. This site is awesome and has been very helpful to me. I just hope I can get that darn scale to budge lol.

Well - I registered in January (the technical, lol), but didn't actually become active (starting diet, posting, creating Sparkpage) until April (when I officially started getting my act together).

Spent some time prior to, just reading and becoming inspired.

At least, that's my reasoning

Thanks for the welcome!!

Welcome MaryLynn!

I am glad you are now using the Spark tools.

However, I admit that I am curious - how did you technically join in Jan, but actually start on April 23rd? I've got a few members who have done that.

Hi Everyone,

Just stopping in to check on you all. I have been in and out of town, and more of the same this coming weekend. With all that comes some ups and downs on the weight too unfortunately. I have been losing and gaining the same 4 lbs.

But that's OK because this is not my "normal state". I know that once I can get back into my flow, I will resume a steady loss.

You guys can do this. This program can fit into your life instead of the other way around. I think that's the most encouraging thing I learned by being here.

Karen

Hi all!! My name is Becky and I joined Spark on the 23rd of April. For the last couple of weeks I have been on a high of sorts. After all the rollercoaster rides I have done with my weight; this one has introduced me to a true lifestyle change. I hope that as a "Class" we can encourage and cheer on each other along our journeys.

I am married to a wonderfull man and a stay at home mom of 4(3 boys and a girl). Although the first week the house seemed to be in culture shock they are adjusting well to the new eats. LOL

Hello, I'm Leigh, wife of Dayne, the best husband in the world! :-)

I am finally ready to lose this weight. I spent the last six years in career hell, full of stress and strife. I had my own company for 4.5 years, then quit to take a "corporate" job, where I worked for people who were truly unkind. They chewed me up and spit me out.

I was lucky enough to take six weeks off, and recently found a new job that is really just 8-9 hours a day, pays well, and my boss is truly a blessing.

My husband and I want to start a family soon, so while we are "trying" I want to get back in shape.

I am doing well on calories, overall, but need to cut back on fat (though I'm progressing), and I was doing GREAT on exercise until last Tuesday night, when I managed to fall and twist BOTH my ankles... had never managed that one before! My right ankle feels fine, but my left is still sore; I have rested it a lot, elevated and iced it. My goal is to get back to the gym, on the bike, tomorrow (Sunday).

I have been weighing at the gym, but I think I'm ready to get the scale out at home; I'm overdue for my weigh-in... yikes...

OH, big milestone last night. Husband got ice cream last night - a Blizzard from Dairy Queen - and he brought me one (truth be told, I asked him to get it for me...), but before I ate it, I saw what it would do to my calories... YIKES. So I decided to eat 1/3 of it, so I stayed within my calories. A little high on fat for the day, but I managed to stay within calories and control myself. That is huge.

It's a process... I gotta keep going...

'Humor is just another defense against the universe." -- Mel Brooks

Hello all. I joined April 28 (or 27), about a week into trying t watch what I'm eating. I was doing WW, but have switched over to here when I found this site. I love all the tracking options and actually seeing where my calories are coming from, like protein or fats or whatever.

I'm hoping to stay really motivated to try and get back into some of the various sized clothes I have in my closet on my way up to where I am now.

Hi I'm Angie. I'm trying to lose baby weight. I have a daughter who just turned 2 and a son who is almost 9 months old. I didn't lose my baby weight from my first pregnancy before I got pregnant a second time. So I'm now trying to lose about 20 pounds to get down to where I was before babies.

Hi and Welcome all new people :-)

This is all about creating a healthy lifestyle for ourselves.

Think of the person you want to be. What does he eat? How does she eat? How does he stay fit? Does she have an active lifestyle, and what does that mean? How does he create balance in his life? How does she cope with those times where support seems hard to come by?

If we live like the person we are to become, we will become him or her (perhaps more slowly than we would desire, but it would happen). Our lifestyle supports who we are.

Our "dieting" time here is our time to test out changes in aspects of our lifestyle--to audition a new life if you will. We will find some things work for us well starting out, but we will progress to other strategies as time goes by. We will learn about food, and exercise, and motivation, but more than that we will learn what works for us.

Then, when we have "lost everything we wanted to" we will have actually gained a whole lot more than we have lost. More self-knowledge as well as learning facts about health and fitness in general.

And what we learn about motivation will not only help us to achieve our best we can be, we will then be in a position to help those we care about achieve their goals by cheering them on too!!!!!

Hugs -- Edith Started at 220, made goal 160 now I have to get there again :-)

Keep Dancing. Joy is the best exercise.

Hi! My name is April and I joined SP about 10 days ago and have been working on my diet for about 3 weeks. I love SP and spend way too much time here already! I think that's part of the reason I'm having a bit of success though. I have lost 6 lbs in the past two weeks, which is amazing for me because it seems to take forever for me to lose weight. I think adding some strength training in with my workout has made the most difference, plus using the nutrition tracker really helps me see what is going into my body and make wiser decisions about how to eat. I still have a long way to go but I'm so very excited to at least be moving down the scale for a change!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Hi everyone! I've been here for a few days now and I'm learning that there is just too much to look at and find. It's kept me busy and I only just found my way in here.

I'm Larissa. I live in Pennylvania, USA and I have about 135 total pounds to lose. I've lost 4 pounds so far in the last 4 days. If only it would keep going that way! lol! I know it's water weight, but I'll take it. :D

Good luck to all of you

I'll never stop believing in me!

Hi everyone, I'm Alexandra and I found this site last week. I need to get back to correct portion sizes!
Being positive, feeling and acting...goal setting is paramount! I look forward to the journey with you, and sourcing the 'spark'. :-)
I live in beautiful Sydney, am 47yrs, I walk to many places as I live inner city, also power walk twice a week and yoga once a week, however I consumme too much food! (too much wine, cheese, chocolate and biscotti's!!!) I am looking forward to learning and losing at least 10kg's, that would be about 25lbs (for the imperial inclined) of fat cells. Living with health and vigour is a priority NOW, my mantra..place higher value to the body, it's a temple! Look forward to chatting and the journey.:-)

Hi everyone - I'm Doris and I joined 2 days ago and still looking around this great site. I'm a 47 year old married mother of 3 girls (23, 21, and 16). In addition to loosing lots of weight, I'm also hoping to get better control of the Rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia I've been dealing with for the past 4 years. There is so much information on this site that has been helpful as I begin this journey. I look forward to getting to know you and get/give encouragement as we each go towards our goals! emoticon

Hi, I am Rachel :)

I started last Monday (4/23).

I lost 40+ pounds on Weight Watchers 5 or 6 years ago, and some of the weight has crept back on. Someone from the PinkTruth message boards (we have a team PinkTruthFans now) sent me here just as I was worried about getting too big for me size 12's, and as I was thinking about signing up for a 5K I'm in no way in shape for, and as we moved into a building that provides a free gym. The timing was perfect. I really think this is gonna work :)

Let's see... I'm 40 years old, and I have 3 kids (14 year old twin girls and a 5 year old boy.)

I am Pam and I was introduced to this site through a friend of mine emoticon . I needed a little extra kick to lose my last 3 on Weight Watchers. Since I have signed up for SP, I have started exercising again. I love the simple routines that I can incorporate into my work life. I weigh in once a week so I will find out tomorrow night how well SP has helped me lose. If nothing else, it has gotten me more active again. And that wasn't an easy thing to do! emoticon

The pain of passing up food is temporary.

emoticon Hi Meg, I completly understand about the jean size going up. I actually have a pair of my favorite jeans (pre-baby and school) that are pinned to a wall in my closet. I figure there is no better motivation that your once favorite pair of jeans!

Good luck!

Hi! I'm Meg...I'm 29 and a mom of three. I used to be a skinny girl, but with each baby I had I just kept gaining and gaining and never loosing. I am hoping to get to a size 6 I'm just getting my 12 stretch jeans to be loose on me. I am very excited for this site and can't wait to be a skinny mama! (ok maybe just not a fat mama! LOL)
