I was looking for exercise videos on YouTube and that's how I found Spark. I couldn't believe everything was free as I was paying for a site that was similar but without even a quarter of the information and tools there is on here.
My friend told me about it after she joined. She told me that she immediately thought of me as she was browsing all that SP offered and knew it would be "right up my alley". She sent me the link and I let it sit in my inbox for a couple months until I was ready. I opened the email on July 11th and the rest, as they say, is history!

SP was recommended by my dietitian as an easy way to track my food--something she was trying to get me to do electronically. SP was part of list of sites she gave. Of course, the deciding factors were that SP is free and easy to use. Everything else has been bonus!

I saw it mentioned on another message board website and tried it out. I was hooked pretty quickly and it worked like a charm ;-) The first 20 came off fairly fast and although I'm still struggling with the last 5 or 10, I consider it a success!
I was paying for another diet site. One day I googled something like recipes and found a link to Sparks recipe calculator. I used that a lot and one day started looking at Sparks. It was hard to believe Sparks has more information and is better organized than the site paid for. Itís been about a year and Iím still easing into using some of the tools.

and the reason I searched on google in the first place was probably curiosity. I wanted to know more about what I was eating, how many calories equaled to a pound of fat, and how my body reacted to exercise :)
A few years ago I typed 'weight loss' or something along those lines into google, and eventually came across this site. After learning that it was free, I signed up ready to go! Unfortunately, it took 2 years before I became active on the site, and a couple tries to end up sticking with it.

A colleague of mine talked about it at lunch time. She was trying different recipes from the Web Site. I registered and then visited it on and off for about 1 year. I came back seriously in September 2009 and then really learned how to use SP and discovered the whole friendly community. I love it!
