Well who knew the salmon was that heavy in calories and fat. Over I went with that. Got all done on my today to do list. This is nice. I will think about getting to the next set up for a quilt. This way I get started early and work through to the start of school. Got my letter today for the renewing of my substituting. Have to go to a meeting but that is it. 4 kids inside all day is a bit noisy to be sure. I am looking at that for the next few days.

Made it to the gym yesterday and am taking Advil today. I love stairmaster and they have brand new ones there. Have to run errands and connect with my uncle who had a surgery last week to find out how he's doing. Have a great week!

I was able to relax most of the day and get caught up on DVR programs. Tomorrow will bring rain and then we will see. I have some sorting to do with the kids and a pillow to make if my grandson wants. Waiting for the window guy to finally bring my replacements and install them. It's only been 2 1/2 years but who's counting.

2 lbs down!! Goodness of God only because I haven't done much toward it. My brother's occasions are coming up and I was at a complete loss as to what to give him because he doesn't like anything. I got him SparkPeople tracker for Christmas and he didn't even open it. The other things he returns or gives away and the only thing that was a hit with him was a Business Week subscription I gave him 2 years in a row but now I can no longer deal with BW plus I am revolted at some of the articles they publish so I won't be renewing. But I think this year I'll get him a car vacuum because he's meticulous about his car and this is sth he might be happy with.

Sounds like you both had a very good day.
I am watching Ari again and Mary is here helping also. But with the kitchen renovation going on it is hard on us all. There is no counters, so we do prep work on stove and then have to find a place to put everything so we can cook. Up early and made my breakfast already so I did not have to wait and then find a place to do my stuff. LOL 2 eggs, piece of cheese and 2 slices of toast, best breakfast in a long time.

I was able to not only get the north side of the house washed, but without anyone but hubby home, I took advantage and did the whole house. Siding is mostly maintenance free but can get green and dusty. It was great but tired for sure. Boston bonny we have a lot of fun hearing from each other and the challenge is tracking daily and getting as many 1's as possible.

I did well yesterday. I know I was within range and I did a lot of walking. Went to foxwoods with the senior center and had a great day of walking shopping and more walking. Got home and was so tired and sore, but went back out to buy a new iron and then had a small supper and gave in and lied down.

Drove by McDonald's but didn't stop to get a shake. The thought of ingesting 700 calories in a couple of sips left me cold so I'm giving myself 1 for Healthy choices and also I had grains and vegetables. Next week I'm expecting to hear back from at least 2 job places plus I have lot's of errands to run so it will be busy. Not sure if I'm doing so well especially with no exercise today. Hope you are doing better than me. Post soon!

BostonBonny, welcome! We're reporting daily on a couple of variables: calories: 1 means we're within range, 0 means no. We're also reporting on fat, water, exercise and healthy choices. All of these categories can be either 1 or 0. In addition this is very much conversational and freestyle if we want to share something else which doesn't have to relate to weight loss all the time. Lately I haven't been staying with the reporting format but will go back to it. This is a very friendly and supportive group. Looking forward to your posts!

I did get a bin of fabric done and then tended my friends yard and house plants. When I returned I was hoping that the boys would have been well into the clean out of their clothes and toys. Not so, so I had to remain with them and all looks great. 2 tubs of items and well sorted. All things are in their room and there is space to move around well. I will get to the cleaning of the siding tomorrow as well as the last bin of fabric. Glad you got the interview.

I agree with both of you. I'm happy with the way things are. It's good to have a place to come in and talk about my day and see what you're doing.
I just had a "job interview" for a position I applied for a couple of days ago. The company is in Wisconsin and the work would be from home. They wanted me to record answers to 3 questions in GreenInterview it's called so I just did that. They are to get back to me within a week. So that was my major excitement for the day.

I agree about leaving this challenge alone. It might only be 3 of us everyday, but we are helping each other and anyone else thats wants to join in. It is good to vent and also get ideas and encouragement is always good. Since I have been with these wonderful ladies my weight has been steady or dropping, no gains really to speak off. So I really think it is working. It would be nice to see more folks join in but we are also happy as is. :)

I guess it all adds up where you wouldn't expect it so over on calories but not fats. I was able to get a few things done in the gardens but mostly stayed inside. I had housework to do and a project going. I will need to help boys with sort out tomorrow for a while and then do my quilting material sort out. Glad about the 2 pounds. Everyone keep up the good work. As for the changing this challenge we would all say NO. Leave things as they are here. We are a small group who want to talk with each other daily.

2 lbs is very nice! Congratulations! I have been thinking of applying for one of the jobs I came across and the deadline for applications is this coming Monday and I was finally able to complete it today. Otherwise I was busy with my old papers and missed the cloudiness in the morning when I could have gone walking. Another chance this evening. The neighbors were using our driveway and the owner saw it from his house across the street and put the sticks in the ground to prevent them from crossing over. Not sure what this is leading to but the people we were saying hello to are still saying hello so I guess I'm not affected so far.

Went to dr yesterday and lost another 2lbs from last visit. So she was very happy. Stayed in room with Ari and she was happy with playing with toys and watching her shows on netflix. I finished the wallet and it came out nice. Thinking I might add these purses and wallets to my table at craft events and see how they sell. I enjoy making them.
Sounds like you both are managing the heat well. That is good.
Off to water garden at center.

Well went out early this morning to hook up the gardens so all could get watered. Hoped for a shower but the skies looked threatening this afternoon when I had taken the kids to the lake so they made us all leave in case it amounted to something besides the thunder we heard. Maybe a shower later but doubt it as that is not my luck during this hot spell. Stayed inside otherwise.

Stayed inside until just about now when I went walking. Was much better than expected because it's hotter closer to the house. Finally connected with my uncle today. Some cultures will not commit to an hour: they'll say "oh, Friday is good" and it would be impolite to press for time. I like things done on the clock so it was a stretch for me to have Skype on for hours on end. How are you both doing?

I am gonna try to stay in my room with granddaughter as she does not do well in the heat either. I have a purse to put together and the wallet I am trying to make for first time. Have it cut out and interfacing is ironed on, now to sew it. LOL

I had a good day not on the move as in the past few days. I did go visit with a friend without kids. Tended to another friends gardens as it has been very hot. Mostly relaxed. Down 3 out of the 6 pounds I gained on vacation. I plan on mostly inside tomorrow. Set up watering of gardens for a while then possibly going through fabrics for a quilt prep. Maybe the lake with the kids.

I had a busy day but did not track so will take 0 on all but water and exercise. First we did the picnic then loaded everyone up and went to bluff point to take the kids out on the kayak. It was rough water and tough to paddle but the kids took turns going out with us for about an hour or so. Then back home to wash up and go the a birthday dinner at a Hibachi restaurant for my grandson. Fun but exhausting day. No yard work and the Kayak is off the car!!

Was waiting to connect with my uncle over Skype but it didn't happen yesterday and today. Will have to try again next week. Went to Payless and got 2 very nice pairs of dressy flip flops. The plan was to get 1 pair but I liked them both so I got them both. They are to wear around the house because I've never driven in shoes without a closed heel so I wear sneakers outside unless I'm forced to wear something better. My brother is officially at home but went out shopping. Not a beach day I guess. Last week with him was challenging but it got better and today he was actually nice and said my shoes are "not too bad" which is a top notch compliment for him.

I have been keeping busy making purses. The big ones look a lot like vera bradley bags and small is same. I think living on my own would be nice as I could control what is in the house and not have all the stuff(goodies) that are here now. But it could be up to a year before I get in or even longer but at least get on the list will be a good thing.
Need to work on garden also. I really hate to weed as it is a back killer. Since I can not get on my knees. Sounds like you have a very busy weekend.
I am not sure I could live with my brother. It is nice you both are close enough to do that.

I have missed so much but been super busy with yard and grandkids. I think everything is now weeded and only need to be kept up a little at a time. I know next week will be super hot and humid so I won't be out as often. I am very sorry about Foxie. I know it is tough and it takes so long to get over it but it is the correct decision. Glad you were there. Senior housing is small but you will be able to do your own things without others to worry about. Nice to have family but good to be able to rest and relax. Busy weekend with a church picnic, birthday dinner, and church. I need a nap already. Will be done with tick meds on Sunday and this having to be careful in the sun is not fun. I was trying to be ahead of the sun as I weeded the garden today but it caught up with me on the last 2 rows. Oh well. The lake is always great for cooling off and the kids love it. Almost daily this week. The above is for both days. Down a pound so far from vacation.

That's when the weight loss would really come in if you were to be on your own. It's great living just by yourself. It also depends on the neighbors you'd get but it's only secondary because if you have a 1 BR apartment you can always make living room your bedroom. My brother is home today. He takes every other Friday off in the summer because he has a lot of vacation time. I think he's going to the beach but right now he's closed himself in his room and is on the phone.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. Taking care of yourself is important. We should be first on our list of to do things. Cause if we do not take care of us how can we help others?
Today I am going to start down sizing my junk. I am also going to fill out the form for elderly housing. Need to get on waiting list. That is why I decided to down size. The places are very tiny, but I will be on my own for the first time in my life and I think that is a good thing.

May you find comfort and peace in knowing that you were so good to her that you put her above yourself and your own health and comfort with your back.
I'm not working but haven't really looked into a lot of things I should such as checking into a better rate for car insurance or calling up other dentists to see what I could do about that tooth. So that's what I did today. I made a vow at the beginning of July that I will try to be more on top of things such as open AND read my mail and not just put it to the side and barely open it if at all once a month. So these administrative things are keeping me busy because I'm catching up with things. I'm getting used to my neighbor not being home during the day because previously she worked 4 shifts on 3 days and the rest of time was always in and out a lot and now she's gone to a new job on all weekdays. Tuesday I already missed her but was doing better today.

Well I let Foxy go yesterday. She no longer is suffering or falling down and I am sure she can see again. I miss her and all night kept waking up to check on her. I know it will get easier as time goes by but right now, my hearts aches and will because she took a piece of it with her. I stayed with her to the end and sat there for a little while talking to one of the girls that was with her also. I was very lucky to have all these years with her and hope she felt the same.
Good luck with washer and I went through same thing but it was a fridge.

I was only over on calories by 16 so not bad as I learn not to over eat just because I want something. Got the errands done and the fan for the attic replacement. I will put it in tomorrow morning when things are cooler. Hope to go out to the yard again as the humidity will be reduced. Fight with Sears will be over tomorrow as a decision on the washer is due. I will not buy in that store again for anything. They do not support what you buy for very long.

Welcome back from vacation! Watch out because supposedly coming back from vacation tops the list of life stressors. I had a dog and a cat growing up. The dog run away and the cat died while I was away on vacation and put her up with a woman who had other cats. Right now I enjoy my neighbors pets which currently are predominantly dogs. I pray that you come to the right decision. My day was good but I haven't exercised yet. I think I have 30 lbs to lose to be right at the top of my recommended normal weight. Am currently at a loss on how to proceed toward that goal. I think the best approach is to get busy with life like both of you are doing.

I did well yesterday but not today. I would have been ok but I ate the left over hot dog. I really wanted it but was not going to have one then there it was. I had a great vacation and even with the kayaking we did I was able to gain 6 pounds!! I hope it comes off as I return to normal but of course wasn't working on it today. 5 hours in the yard may have helped. Tomorrow is rainy so errands and then at home things. Sorry about Foxy. It is the hardest thing to do. I had to for a few of my best friends too.

Sorry had daughters birthday and been really busy. I have decided to take my foxy in and have her put to sleep. She is having trouble getting up and standing more days then good days. I just do not see the happy dog she once was. I love her so much and this is tearing me up. I hope it is the right decision but I keep doubting myself.

Where's everybody? Good news: I was able to up my speed and am at 16 minutes per mile walking. I used to be at 15 and that's what I'm aiming for. Bad news: weigh-in was bad: 2 lbs up. Was able to get some exercise in and go to the store. The call didn't come in but as long as I'm no longer waiting I'm fine. They will have to leave a message because I was really serious about it and was holding on to two phones all the time which was way too crazy.

Went to farmers market yesterday and got some beets, squash and tomatoes. Going to make some beet chips for tonight. Everyone is going to the fireworks but just to much walking for me. So staying home and watching a movie and eating my beet chips. LOL Last vacation I took was years ago at last 5 maybe 6, mom was still alive and ended up in hospital after I left, so was I phone most of time, making decisions on what they needed to do for her. So really was not much of a vacation.
Hope you got the call you were waiting on.

Blessing of abundance with those tomatoes! Great thing!
I'm stuck at home waiting for a phone call and am not sure if like later on it will be OK to go out walking with just 1 phone on me but I guess so because I haven't exercised in 4 days which is completely unlike me. Can't believe how time flew and your vacation is almost over. To begin with it seemed like you're going away for such a long time. My last vacation was a very long time ago when I went to Atlanta for a couple of days. I'd thought I'd enjoy the Botanical Garden there but no because it was almost all dried up because of the weather which wasn't so hot either. But I liked the architecture and riding the metro. That was a very long time ago not even exactly sure which year but 2008 I think.

Your trip sounds like so much fun. I am so happy you are enjoying it. Drive careful and have a safe trip home.
I tell you my garden loves this weather. My tomatoes are so high it is not funny and my squash are taking over the rest. I have to keep moving the leaves away so the other plants can get some sun. LOL You can see our tomatoes from the parking lot. They stand at least 2 to 3 times higher then everyone else.

Did well until dinner of Chinese food. We took a cruise on the inland river ways for 3 hours.
It was very nice then came back to the cottage and took the Kayak out for 90 minutes before going to dinner. Hope to go out again tomorrow before having to load it back on the car for the trip to Massachusetts on Saturday. Should be home on Monday.

I really need to be able to catch her from falling down the stairs in both directions. I hold it close to her so there is less pull when she loses footing and starts to go down. But at that time I am holding her body weight and that is what is doing the damage.

Is a change of harness possible so that you'd have a longer way down to Foxy so that you'd only exert a little force and not with your back muscles?

BAck is still bad not sure what to do. I think part of the problem is helping Foxy up and down the stairs. As she loses her balance and I catch her with the harness so she does not fall. My back was like this when I use to help my Mom up the stairs everyday. Not sure what I can do.

Cooked dinner for myself because I'm kind of tired of soups and was craving rice. Made Jasmin rice and it was super. Otherwise not much. Not sure what I'm doing for exercise because I have a problem with my arm now and I think either walking or gym is what I could do. Not sure yet. Sounds like a great vacation. I didn't track yesterday but it was all good. Today not so much with fried foods. Took out the kayak both days. It is a lot of fun. Off to town tomorrow and a bit of rest at home after the road trip today. Thursday is a boat trip through inland waterways to see wildlife and lighthouses. Should have time both days to take the kayak out. Wednesday will give us rain so a movie and Lands End visit with a pasta dinner in Brunswick. Hope your back is feeling better.

Didn't exercise today: didn't feel like dealing with the concert traffic at the park and went to the grocery store instead. My brother got back safe and sound last night with a great tan and my single days are over. The new book isn't panning out: it's about the young generation of Iranians in Iran around the year 2000 or so called Revolution generation. I'd seen a documentary that might have been based on that book and am not really keen about reading about people who are partying and overall into hedonistic lifestyle and that is considered to be their protest against their political system.

Feel better soon! I really miss my brother by now and can't wait for him to get back home. We've been in touch over the phone a lot so I have a pretty good idea of what he's been up to but it's gonna be nice when he gets back. The weekend was very peaceful except for last night fireworks. I love fireworks but my service coincided with them this year but it just so happened the pastor was straight back from Australia and the message was short so I could catch the rest of the fireworks, thanks be to God! I'm catching myself thinking about tracking again so we'll see. I'm down 1 lbs from last week.

Arrived at the cottage and was able to go to the craft fair but our usual chicken lunch was sold out so we went back to our next favorite place to have a lunch/dinner. Good only on water today but didn't expect much else anyway with all meals out. Relaxing here tomorrow and maybe take the kayak out. Next day hit the road to see the sights. Take care all.

I had a couple of good weeks when I had a lot of job applications but not so much lately and I didn't get any calls from those applications. I remember when this was a busy place and so many posted every day. Sorry was not here yesterday. Went out early to water garden at center and met a friend so we went for breakfast and then spent the next few hours walking and shopping. Got some new clothes and bought a size smaller and fits real good. So can see the weight I have lost. Not sure if I should go water garden today or will it rain. Think I will water to be on safe side.

Welcome Janrolg! My brother is on vacation as well so I'm enjoying single living such as having an omelet at midnight but we're in touch over the phone. I don't really have the weekend off as I have some applications to submit and the housework to do. That's how it is: there are times when there is nothing and then I got to drop everything and be available for whatever comes.

G;ad you got your walk in and eating soft foods is a tough one. Soups are good, just watch the salt content.

It is hard to try and work out of the sun so I stayed inside mostly today. I cleaned the rest of the windows and rearranged the "living room" which is my sons room with the new things we had to move into it. dusted and vac. and washed the floors in prep for leaving Friday. I am a bit agitated over things lately and too many things and people to feel at peace. I know that it is me but it is hard to deal with emotionally lately. Cleaning a yard work help. Vacation will, I hope, help more.

It's good to be busy and I have experienced some of that today as well. Just got back from a walk combined with going to the pharmacy. Haven't walked that way since early Spring I think. Last new neighbor was moving in today. A single woman slightly younger than I am, I think although never know. I've been doing prepared soups (some canned, some from a carton and some from cups or envelopes) for dinners because I don't feel like cooking and it's still a challenge to come up with those soft foods. Not proud of it but glad I can do it for now.

I decided that this could be the last day for sunshine even with sun screen. Went out and did the back area. Tried to follow the shade but that failed early so I did finish then went to the lake with the kids. I stayed in the shade under the trees mostly so that I didn't take chances. Tomorrow will be rainy so inside jobs in prep for the vacation. We leave on the 3rd and I just found out that the cover I ordered for the kayak will ship the day before so we probably won't get it. So many companies are disappointing me lately even though I leave enough time to do what needs to be done.

Hopefully MOKAY will post soon. It's bad you have it but it's good you got diagnosed and treated for Lyme because it can cause problems if left untreated and from what I've heard a lot of people don't recognize they have it. I had 18 workout days in June which is not the best but better than previous month. Was supposed to do some housework today but left it for the weekend. In today's world we think everything can be done online but last couple of days I had to go in person places such as the library where my card expired and I wasn't able to place holds on books or do anything else online.

I had to go to the doctor and get diagnosed with Lyme and am now on antibiotics. I have worked in the yard for 33 years and nothing. It could have been in the house with those I have seen because of the cats. I have treated the house but not before I was bit. Took the kids to the lake today then home to work on the yard. Soon the sensitivity to sun will kick in and make it harder with the sun. Maybe the lake tomorrow but working in the yard in the morning before it gets too hot.

It was a whirl wind weekend with all the changes taking place. Son put up doors in the dinning room and moved the table to the back summer porch. We had to replace the sump pump and it didn't go well but hubby worked it out. The grandsons returned late Saturday night and we were able to take the kayak out on Saturday morning before the rain to practice putting it on the car and taking it off again. Took out the youngest granddaughter with us. Paddling for 2 hours should have burned a few calories. Weight hasn't changed in a long time but the body is lessening in the mid section with the core workouts in the yard and kayak. I may have gone over a little on Saturday in Fat and Calories but did well with all else.
My day in Boston did me a world of good and calmed my attitude so I don't need to eat anyone now. Off to doctors tomorrow to have him look at this bite to see if I could have been a tick. Won't heal and is still red and pink on my hip. Let you know what happens.

That does sound good, now I need to be able to add the stuff I eat at center for lunch. I know it is well portioned, as the give you very little. Actually use small plates like you might give a small child.
Busy making chocolate decorations for the cupcakes for tomorrows party. That is if the weather does not rain it out. Making 48 cupcakes but not gonna cook them till morning just in case. The chocolate toppers can stay in fridge and be use when we do have party. Pray for weather to hold off until late in the day.
Glad you got AC, that should make sleeping a lot better.

I would believe that all above are correct for both days except the exercise was good for yesterday. I went to Boston today and took the day off in household work. I was up late yesterday as we were trying to get a new sump pump for the laundry room sink set up and the difficulties made it so I could not get to the computer. Measuring is easy if you remember what you ate and save a lot in your favorites then just bring it up and add. I look at the simple ways to be sure it can be done.

I have air conditioner in my room! My brother has just left. On another bright note I was able to cancel the ENT appointment this week because my ear got so much better. Tracking is so much work: measuring everything, flattening those tablespoons, etc. I also would be interested in some tips on how to do it.

Do not stress over things you have no control off, IE: neighbors and even jobs. Leave it in Gods capable hands and all will go as He has planned.
Your yard must look so nice. You should post some pictures of it here.
My garden at center did well with all the wind and rain and it looks as though the deer do not like that stuff I put on garden. It seems they are still eating everyone else's plants but ours are untouched. Milorganite is the name of it. It is organic and they use it on golf courses and my SNL Mom swears by it. She uses it on her gardens and has had great luck.

You're putting so much effort into the garden and the house: it's highly commendable. I looked at the calendar today trying to determine what happened to me that I let myself go so much and trying to find out when it happened and I think it started with stressing out over the new neighbors and went downhill from there. Time to dust myself off and regain some ground. The new neighbors are kind of old now after over 3 weeks and there is a woman moving in to the apartment of the first floor in July.

I was able to clean the carpets and get the side hedges trimmed. The hedges are the length of the backyard and front. I always hate doing this in spring as the growth is enormous. Fall is easier and can be done in an hour not 4 it took today. Glad it wasn't as humid. Sears tomorrow then off to wash the winter quilt at the laundromat. Game night with daughter coming over.

I think I'll post now because I might forget later. Calls, searches, grocery shopping. No calls for my brother this week but also no calls for me. I remain hopeful though. Not sure if I told you but my neighbor got the job we're praying for and she starts mid-July. I went on the company's website and found a job I could apply for and put forth my application. That was close to 2 weeks ago so they might still call. A while ago I was working with this employment specialist and she said she didn't see any reason why I was unemployed. It's kind of like that prayer partner at church who prays for couples who want babies and everybody is getting pregnant left and right, they are bringing back those babies to her while she can't get pregnant herself.

We seem to have did ok with the storm. Lost power a few times but not for very long. Garden here did well so hoping for the same at center. Going there a little later for a cook out and will check on it then.
Neighbors should help with cost to repair siding. Hopefully insurance will cover it.
It is not nice for your bother to make sure he is comfortable, he should help you put in a small ac. I could not sleep on those hot nights if I did not have mine.

Slow and steady will see me though to the end.

I can't put in the AC because these are old windows and my brother semi-permanently attaches them to the frame. I should be fine tonight because the temperatures are down. Nothing like a tornado watch to make me appreciate my situation however difficult it is at times. I actually had a bag packed. If there is even a smallest thunderstorm I track it on the Doppler radar. There's a story passed down for a couple of generations in my family about somebody closing a window in the middle of the storm and being killed by lightening and I avoid t-storms like a plague. I'm so glad there are none of them in the forecast for the next 10 days.

Worked on the front porch and got it Bug Stopped it again. It works well to keep the critters down. This storm was not nice but at least we had no big trouble. The neighbors table umbrella came over the hedge and hit our house cracking the siding. We took the umbrella to them but no thought from them of helping with cost of siding. Hedges are to be trimmed tomorrow. The body says stop but can't. Hope you can get the air conditioner even a small one can be put in without support. Just be sure to tape it in so that there are no leaks in or out.

No air conditioner. Had the one in the kitchen going all night and with the door open to my room and it was bearable. I'm hoping my brother will consider that the AC in the kitchen is bigger so am hoping will get one today. You'd think it's simple but he's got an elaborate process set up with these ACs and it isn't like I can put one in. He's got one in his room so he's comfortable. I'm hoping to hear from some companies maybe this week and the drawing for the sweepstakes I keep entering in is next week so I'm hopeful about my chances of moving out of here and never coming back.

Sorry ladies for missing but been really busy and did not get online for very long at all.
Scale shows a loss, so am happy. Did line dancing yesterday at center and slept like a rock last night. Actually woke up much later then I ever do. Have a bit of headache from it. Heading to center to try and stake up some plant and hoping the weather does not ruin garden. Mary says it is a very bad cell that is coming at us. High wind and heavy rains and more. So stay safe.
Hope you got the ac, it is to hard to get good nights sleep when you are hot.
The boys will be there soon. Bet they are excited to get back. How old are they now?

When I am busy I don't snack so did well today. I was able to plant most of the impatience and clean the back 3 season room. It has been 2 years since I cleaned like today. I am tired and need to get some well deserved rest. Hopefully you got the air conditioner in as sleeping while sweating never works well.

I finally might get an air conditioner in my room tonight. Didn't sleep well without it. Woke up several times. The day's been good. Not great but good.
