Janasir, what made you move to Slovenia? What time is it over there? 11- or 12 midnite?

:D

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned (just a bit) about 3 weeks away from my new lifestyle. Surely the open air markets will prove to keep me enamored and healthy...

but still. A tad uneasy. Our apartment is on the sixth floor, without an elevator.

Lots of exercise to combat the potential overindulgence in cheese...

um and wine, too :)

CANT WAIT!

Organic food stores like Whole Foods are the thing I miss most about America lol (and my buddies of course!) Still, I do my best over here too, and the situation is definitely improving.

Gonnagetfirm,

That is the ticket. You sound better. Remember there are tons of yummy salty and sweet snacks at the 'health' stores that I PROMISE wont give you half the guilt of regular over the counter crap.

And they taste AS GOOD or better. As you stay on this journey and explore healthier new food options your taste buds will start to hear you. Capiche? And they will like it alot.

I PROMISE!!!!

EAT CLEAN. my new motto, i guess!

That'd be a fun shopping trip - yummy, healthy snacks. Let me know what you find at Trader Joe's.

Thank you Ladies! I am over that hump...thank goodness! While it was difficult to get motivated, working out has helped, also a hot bath doesn't hurt. I did a little yoga, and the stretching felt amazing. I think that I will hit Trader Joes tomorrow, and make sure I have some tasty snacks so I am not tempted to stock up and fill up on chips and cookies!

Definitely treat yourself to something! I usually take dark chocolate and go for a fancy, yummy kind, so it feels more special. And then a movie, a book, or call up a friend you haven't talked to in a while. It's all about you, be good to yourself.

Oh and pamper yourself - put cucumber slices on your eyes and face to reduce puffiness, or cooled teabags (black or green tea) work really well, too; apply a facial mask, paint your toenails...

Exercise doesn't really work for me, but a walk is nice, or maybe some easy stretches, or even breathing exercises.

Give yourself a break. Rest, don't push. You have a valid excuse to not work too hard, especially if you aren't feeling well. At most, go for a nice long walk, just to ease your mind, and stretch your legs.

My best advice for snacking, and this goes for all of you, is to go out and do some serious shopping for healthier but delicious snacks.

There are so many options nowadays. With all the health consicous, low fat and organic stuff out there, it should be fairly easy to pick up some baked chips, or veggie chips, or natural oreo cookies... or organic chocolate chip without all the trans fat or refined sugars, or preservatives.. Some of them are a good source of fiber, even!!!

ie., the new Fiber one bars--- oh my goodness!!!!! yum yum yum!

Try Trader Joes, or Whole Foods, or the new Elephant Pharm. Go to your local health food store. Invest in YOU. Remember you are changing your life now.
So buy what you know you like or 'NEED' but just choose carefully! Be a saavy shopper. You don't have to hate this diet, becasue it's not a diet.

You are goiong to love yourself more now and never feel deprived!!!!

Just start making smarter food choices but keep in mind portion control. You can do this!

and enjoy snacking....

As fo me, I NEED 2 cookies after I put my son to Bed. I need my tea and TWO cookies. Why? Cuz after one cookie, I'm going for another. Then the bag closes and is put to bed, too. Hey, with a little effort I finally found a natural product without refined sugards (sweetened with Juice) and organic..and only 120 cals for 2 cookies. And they taste sinful!

I also found some veggie chips that taste awesome and they claim that one ounce is the equivelant of a half serving of veggies! That's nuts!!! But hey, my son's into them. Remember what you do, will impact those around you, too.

The world is changing. Everyone is going healthy and organic. The suppliers are responding. YIPPEE! It couldn't be a better time for you to find some incredible snacks and food that are more "clean" and simply delicious.

So girl, get out and get some fresh air. Then curl up to a good movie with your favorite NEW snack you find today.... Then tell us about it.

:) Me happy. Elephant Pharm is the new bomb in my life! They offer free yoga classes everyday!

You see what's happening here? YES!

Ohmygoodness. It's like you are me a week ago. Not sure if you can read back posts, but I was lamenting about this very thing. Luckily, though, my girls helped me get through it. Gained about 3-4 lbs and I'm on the last few days of my cycle, so it's going away. But gosh! Bloated and full of water and queesy-ness. emoticon

The only....ONLY thing that helped was walking. Exercise really is the fix-all.

(I can't.believe.I.really.said.that!!!)

I drink about 3 liters of water a day, so staying hydrated really helps too.

Oh, and a small block of dark chocolate is the elixer of all elixers. *wink*

Well, "they" say to exercise. "They" are probably men who have no clue how yucky we feel during "that time". But, I've tried it before and it really works. The hardest part is just getting yourself to do it. You'll be SO happy once you're done with a 30 minute walk or a little time at the gym. Drink that water. My doctor says to stay away from caffeine for that week if possible. You'll get through this! Stay focused on how much better you'll feel next week. Hang in there :)

It's just about that time of the month for me, and for some reason I am feeling more bloated than I usually do. I truly feel like I am carring an extra 10 lbs! When I weighed my self this morning, I am just the normal 2 lbs over my "real" weight. Any suggestions to relieve the bloat? I need a little extra motivation to not plop in front of the couch with a bag of chips or a ton of oreos!
