a regular glum weekend day at work.
I'm starting to get worried about some unusual symptoms I've had for a few weeks - involves pain
like did my skull crack ?
did i get a concussion - does my brain really feel bruised?
did i have a stroke ?
is it extreme high blood pressure come back ?
severe withdrawal symptoms from caffeine addiction and caffeine poisoning?

if it goes on another week - i'll have to go see a dr.

I'm always too exhausted these days to blog much - but i have dozens of blogs in me to write up - i have to remind myself to keep thins simple.

I got a nasty tummy virus and didn't eat for 6 days. Only lost 3 lbs. Life is unfair.

I had my first snow day today. Fun!!

My mother arrives tomorrow. SHe knows her birthday is "amazing race" themed, so she's coming here, with no idea where we're going or what we're doing. Hee hee - It should be a lot of fun.

Wishing things are going well for you guys. Another busy week here. Struggling to balance things. I have not been stress or comfort eating. I need to plan some healthy alternatives for those times I feel the urge. I might try to make some healthy treats later this week and freeze them for those moments I may need them.

CATIATM- I hope you are feeling better. My thoughts are with you.

Alli- I hope the kids are doing fine. You are making such big, positive changes in your life, make sure you have some time for yourself to recharge. You can do it!

Well I got some silly splinter in my foot. Rather then go to the doctor again, I am just letting it work its way out. It isn't red or hurting, but it is in there well enough that I rather not risk breaking it with tweezers. I did try the tape thing, it didn't work and they don't have elmers glue here, and the glue I did find wasn't good enough. So hopefully my body will do its thing.

I have been busy here, a friend was knocked off her bike and needed surgery, but they have to wait for the medications she is on to clear her system before they operate. She got a broken leg and the idiot that caused the accident just left her there. I swear some people. Anyways, my eating has been better, but because of my foot I am not exercising very much.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

CATIATM- Is this still the remnants of that bad chest cold you had last month? I heard that this year's chest colds were really bad and lingered much longer then normal. Remember not to push yourself to hard, also sleeping is when the body tends to do most of the 'repair' work, so don't feel bad taking a nap when you feel worn down. I hope you have turned the corner and will be getting back on track.

Just got back from the hospital for the results of the biopsy on his foot from last week and it is benign. We are so thrilled that one is done and dusted. The rescan of his lungs is scheduled for the first week of Feb. Hopefully we will get good news on that one too.

I am glad you are having a nice time CATIATM. Also great job on getting your workout done. Keep up the good work. I hope the weather improves for you guys.

It really was!

Yesterday, my friend and I worked out and then brunched at the Mansion at O Street, Washington artist place. It has secret doors and other crazy stuff. Today, the weather isn't great, and we're keeping things low key. We'll walk to Costco and get dim sum at the local Chinese place. So a quiet day. How about you?

Oooh! I love lamb. I bet it was tasty! emoticon Congrats on getting 10 hours of sleep! I always feel great when I get a good night's sleep.

I aquacised and then saw "The Imitation Game" today and then enjoyed a lovely dinner at a local restaurant. I had arctic char with root vegetables and rosemary crumble with huckleberries and vanilla ice cream for dessert. Wow!

emoticon on lowering your BP CATIATM. Giving up caffeine can sometimes really improve health and sleep. If you body is responding positively, then you are doing right by it. Keep up the good work.

Alli- Hope you are staying on track and making healthy choices.

I got a short walk in this morning. Skipping breakfast because we have to head into the city for an appointment later. I have a nice lamb salad marinating in a garlic yogurt dressing that I picked up from a local kebab place. They always have the best salads. I am really looking forward to tucking into it when we get back.

I know! I'm retaining all kinds of water, and I feel lousy. It's change or die time. Going caffeine free was miserable, but it dropped my BP 40 points, so -- definitely worth it. Now on to the next challenge!

CATIATM emoticon Glad to see you here still. Yup, I am up to 296! Geesh girl, we need to get our acts together and stop bouncing up and down on the scale bounce up & down with exercise instead. emoticon

Alli- emoticon to have you here. My only challenge is to lose 4-5 lbs this month. I am keeping it simple. I know that if I eat right, drink water and get in some exercise, I will easily lose that. It always seems to be that nice big drop in the beginning (water weight mostly) before it stalls or slows down. Feel free to start a challenge, here in the daily thread or in the challenge section for this team. I am not really the leader of this team. It's just when I came back all the sticky threads were like 2 years old and no new posts. So I took lead to clean the forums up a bit. But if you make a challenge thread (in the challenge section) I can sticky it for you. But also, anyone that wants can take over lead, I just consider myself a forum caretaker here lol.

I'm glad to see some action on this team! I was just about to leave the group. I tried Spark before and found the "weight-ville" groups to be the most helpful!! Losing weight in 10 lb increments is so much easier than the big picture! I've been yo-yo-ing between 275-280. emoticon I'm at 278.0 right now and refuse to move my ticker. I figure it will reflect the right weight soon enough!

Are any of you ladies up for a challenge?

After continuing to gain, I am finally back at 274.

I am using the Spartk Activity Tracker now. I started yesterday. I keep wondering if I should reset all of my trackers and goals, and start all over, but I guess having my whole history there is good.

We are having a snow day today, and I am going to embrace shoveling! I need the movement and the fresh air!

I have gained back up to 275! Ugh! I want to move back to 260ville! I thought I would be able to move right along, but instead I have gained 4 pounds!!!

I see you are on both teams too! We can do this together!
Hope that you are feeling much better! I do not know how to get my energy back. I always feel exhausted. I think that losing the weight will help immensely!

I'm taking a lot longer to feel well than I'd expected. I have just enough energy to get through the work day and then come home and collapse. However, if I'm honest, I'm eating comfort foods because I feel lousy, which just tanks my energy levels. I need to break the cycle and am heading to the grocery store tomorrow after work.

I had a great day today! I was asked to go walking and so I got out and got fresh air and exercise. It was great! I told her she can ask any time. I am going to make movement a priority in my life. Yesterday I embraced snow shoveling. I did not even grumble. I decided to embrace the opportunity to get some exercise. A shift in perspective made a huge difference.

I hate when bugs settle in your chest, they seem to linger for weeks. I agree, you most likely need a new GP. You need one that will work with you and not just disregard your concerns. I hope you feel better soon. And yes, I am back to normal for now.

I was supposed to race today but am too sick. I went to the doctor a few days ago,and he ignored my complaints. Now it's in my chest, and I'm miserable. I think male doctors don't take women patients seriously, and this guy drives me nuts. I need to find someone new.

Anyway - I hope you're feeling better! I'm up in the high 270s right now, so struggling to get out of this town and scared I might slip back to 280.

emoticon No worries about me being here alone. I got a nasty cold, then a stomach bug and have just now come right. The cold & bug meant I lost weight but not in a good way. They had an issue with bagged & fresh produce here just as I was ramping up the fresh veggies to boost my immune system from the cold. Figures that the one time I go crazy on salads they have an issue with them. Ah well, it could have been worse- some people did get hospitalized, but I never got that bad.

How are things with you? Are you planning any more 5k's?

Well the surgery went well and he has been home a week. Fingers crossed things go well and that the tests come back clear.

I apologize that I haven't been able to check in as often, but hopefully things will calm down and get back to a more normal routine. I have managed to stay on track and not binge or stress eat, which is great for me. Although my weight loss has stalled since his diagnosis, I am hoping to get back to losing weight as the appointments drop off.

I want to again welcome new members, say, "Hi," to the old ones and encourage all of you to make progress towards your goals. Aim to improve your health, your life, your weight a little each day. It isn't a sprint, but a journey. Believe in yourself and give yourself a push whenever you feel like you can't do it. Even little steps can get you over the finish line. Keep moving forward.

Dropped my fiance off for surgery this morning. I just called the hospital to check on him and they said he is in recovery. Hopefully he will be released by the weekend. Fingers crossed.

I hope everyone is having a good week and that you will have an even better weekend. Things have been so busy and hectic here. I have been ok on my eating, No binging, which is a huge plus for me. I always struggled with binges, especially when stressed. I hope you all have nice weather and remember you are worth it.

I have been incredibly busy here. I didn't gain this week, but I didn't lose any weight either. Next month is going to be busy and stressful. My fiance's surgery is scheduled for late Aug. and we are packing house as well as looking for a second hand car. We have consults and nurse visits all next month. Tomorrow morning is another hospital visit. I just hope all this leads to a good outcome for us and hopefully better future.

I hope everyone is doing fine. CATIATM I hope you are staying on track and moving towards your goals.

Well the weekend is over, but at least the stormy weather left this morning. We managed to get the tree anchored, so it should be okay. I hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of the weekend. CATIATM- I hope you enjoy the bbq. I always loved celebrating the 4th of July, the bbqs, fireworks, celebrating things that make the US great and of course watermelon. How different it is when you are in the southern hemisphere and the 4th of July is in winter.

Regarding my fiance, he has stage 3 cancer. Late March & early April he had 2 moles removed, both came back positive. First one was removed entirely, so that was good. Second one was more aggressive and deeper, so he had a surgery last month to remove more tissue and get a lymph node biopsy- just in case. Well this Wednesday we went for the post op follow up and the surgeon told us the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. The want to operate again this month and remove all the lymph nodes in the area. They will will be sent to pathology and see how many nodes are affected. It is hoped the removal of the rest of the nodes in the area will increase his survival rate. But yes, that is why things were so hectic the past few months. We really had hoped after his operation last month that he would be in the clear. They said it was highly unlikely (less then 4% chance) it had spread to the lymph nodes as we had caught both cancers so early. That is why I thought things would finally be back to normal, he thought so too. So yeah we are floored. More tests, appointments, consults, labs, etc.. as they get ready for this next operation. He will have a tube for drainage for 6 weeks after. Right now we are just focused on him getting through the surgery. We would love to hear the surgery is a success and that the cancer hasn't spread. I think he deserves some good news for once.

Anyways, I do hope you have a good weekend. We are going to be snuggled under the covers as it is cold and stormy here. Happy 4th of July CATIATM.

AMBER - So sorry you're facing so many troubles. What surgery does he need? How long has he been sick/injured? Is this why you have s much going on in your life? When's the wedding?

How I wish we were having fun. The post op consult went bad. More surgery for my fiance later this month. Sometimes things just keep piling up. We are just doing the best we can. I hope things are going well for you. It sucks you are stuck working with some real jerks. Stay strong CATIATM. You can do it!

I am glad you like your job CATIATM. It makes it more rewarding when you enjoy it.

Yesterday was normal busy, same with rest of the week. It almost feels like a vacation not to have so much chaos going on. I am grateful for just the normal routine. I hope it stays that way for a good long while.

It has been a busy week, even Friday was all go. I am ready for the weekend. I still have things to do, but at least I can go at a slower pace for the weekend.

Wow, what an awesome job on the race. Congrats on sticking it through and finishing despite getting lost. Do make sure you rest up and recover.

It is Sunday night here, so my weekend has come and gone. Yesterday was busy running errands, but today we decided to just relax. Monday will be here and then it will be all go for the rest of the week. But it felt great to sleep in and just relax today. Sometimes we need those moments we can grab to recharge before the week starts up again. I hope you do get some down time to rest up. Have a great week CATIATM, you deserve it.
