Grilled peaches - yum! I'm not a fuzz fan, but, Texas peaches are great, and their wonderful fragrance is too alluring to avoid.

My hubby loves peach cobbler. I love ice cream with peaches. It's such a summer thing!

smoothies somehow are summer to me rather than all year long. i made this one today.

1 cup milk, nonfat
1 cup blueberries, frozen
1 cup strawberries, frozen

Blend well. Makes a happily large drink! Next time I think I'll add a shot of my sugarfree vanilla syrup to give it a little vanilla depth, but I was pleased with it just the way I had it.

I love grilled peaches, I make them every year. One of my favorite summer fruits is cherries - I can't always get sour cherries fresh but the sweet ones are always in the house for cakes, ice cream or sorbets. I make granitas alot because it's pretty much zero fat, but I haven't done it with cherry juice yet - pomegranate juice granita is delicious if you put a little champagne or eau de vie in it.

POLAR BEARS!! This was one of my favorite treats when I was growing up. My Mother ran a day care so most of our treats were sneaky healthy.

1. Stick a banana on a popsicle stick and place it in the freezer for 1/2 hour or so. You might need to only use 3/4 of the banana since you want it relatively straight.
2. Spread peanut butter over the frozen banana
3. Roll the banana in coconut
4. Make a face with a couple of chocolate chips

Mmmm I've been promising my boyfriend all summer that I'd introduce him to these. This weekend might be it!

This is the only time of year I can find watermelon sorbet. I found out that the reason it's so hard to get is because a local restaurant goes around and buys the lot from every grocery store in the area - that's not fair to the regular consumer! They should put in an order for bulk quantity.

Anyway, I love watermelon sorbet, and mango sorbet, and just about any real fruit sorbet that can be found. I used to make it, but I just don't have the time, anymore.

Peaches - what a great summer treat. Have you ever grilled them?

Raspberries, black berries, champagne grapes - lovely fruit of the season.

What are your favorite summertime treats?

Alysia :)
