Horror stories? Rock bottom, I got injected with alternating vitamins and urine from a pregnant lamb (at least that is what they said it was). I have starved, I have fasted, I have exercised to excess.

I now do the Paul McKenna program, and truth be told, the freedom from DIEting is amazing and the focus away from losing weight is envigorating.

I can truthfully say that now that I know how to nourish my body, and move for fun, not only will I never go back, I don't care if I lose weight or not. Because even if I stay the same weight I am better off than I was both mentally and physically.

If you go to the McKenna team from my spark page, you'll find a whole lot of information there. Start with the tutorial in the techniques section and the "links for newbies" in the general team discussion forum. Both of those are stickied, so they are easy to find.

Enjoy.

You don't have to wait for McKenna's book, you've attracted me! LOL

Terri -

You are my hero. I'm still waiting for the library to notify me when McKenna's book is available for pick up. I want to lose weight the way you're doing it because I know in my heart (and from experience) that no other way will work. Now I just need to find the time to finish reading the EFT manual so that I can practise it on my own without a facilitator.

Hmmmm?. . . I have so many.

I've fasted. I ate only pineapple and papaya once. Can you say cabbage soup? Anything with Richard Simmons, the Cards, the windows, the sweatin' to the oldies, you name it. I even went on his cruise!! I lost tons of weight on phentermine, and then when the doctor made me stop (cause I was addicted and had reached a point where I needed more,) I gained it all back and more. My last die et was nutrisystems. I didn't spend too much time on that because the food was gross.

Now JUST LOOK AT ME!! It's the Law of Attraction that's making me thin! I follow Paul McKenna's four golden rules, and I'm able to do that by using EFT, guided visualization (hypnosis) and other techniques that include loving myself. I just think and act thin now. No more die eting. I've lost 25#!! Slowly and steadily. I'm not really trying, only changing my mind. I eat ice cream and lots of fried food - but my choices are healthier, I'm pickier, and I eat very little of it. Not because I have to measure and stop when my allotted amount is gone either. I just naturally stop.

I even move (not structured exercise) more. I clean more. Do more yard work. Play with granddaughter more. And for us, a lot of that means DANCE. Just 'cause I'm in joy and I want to.

Go visit my page to see the results for yourselves.

We all know what the secret to weight loss is . . . reduce your calories, eat healthy, and increase your exercise and you will lose weight. It works but it only works if you are completely honest with yourself.

Having said that, I once fasted for 23 days - nothing but chocolate milk, orange juice and water and did 250 situps nightly. I lost nearly 15 pounds and quite a few inches around the mid-section. I did this for a wedding where I was a bridesmaid. Unfortunately, I gained back the 15 I lost X 2 within 90 days after the wedding.

Hi Lovie. Thanks for sharing your experience. How much did you scale back your eating? I find it sooo hard to do that. I really hate planning meals for a whole week - it just doesn't fit my lifestyle. But also I have been terrible this past week about not eating when I'm not hungry. If the BF passes me a snack I don't think about it - I just eat it. It frustrates me that even small things like a few almonds or a granola bar can add up so quickly, but I'll get back on track eventually!

The month of May, I exercised everyday. I did not change my eating and I saw no weight loss. In the month of June, I did the same thing. No weight loss. In the month of July, I changed my eating and I scaled back on my exercise and I lost 9 lbs. So, I have come to the realization that eating and exercising go hand in hand in the weight loss game.

This month, I fell back into my old way of eating. I exercise 4 days a week and I did not lose anything. I actually gained 2 lbs. For the remainder of this month, I am going to monitor my eating and keep up with the exercise.

I have a leg injury so my walking is limited. I walk about 14 miles a week, swim 4 hours per week and I have physical therapy 2 times a week. And I cut down on my snacks and increase my water intake. I use to live to eat now I eat to live.

Ha! No kidding. I have added 5 hours of vigorous exercise a week into my life & I have cut back, but still I'm having trouble losing weight. I think it's because I'm not consistent in cutting back. Still, you would think that just adding exercise would do the trick...

Hi Daz,

I wish it were that easy for me. just have to cut way back on what I eat, and I have to exercise.

Cheers

emoticon Hi team,

Before I found SP I would ask friends and associates how to loss weight. It was a fact that I had a membership to a gym and I would exercises when I could, so that was not a problem. I asked a lot of people and one of the main answers was I always got was. If you go to the gym and work out for an hour and drink a lot of water you can consume all the food that you want and you do not have to worry about a weight problem.

This is far from the truth. What is your Sunday horror weight lost story?

Keep On Sparking emoticon
