Sorry I haven't been on in awhile but my life got out of hand!!! Kevin is still in jail, he's begging for money we haven't got, his little boy went to live with his mother-who is a druged out loser, my wife was in the hospital for 12 days and I just have been so depressed and overwhelmed I put myself on the back burner.
Coco has suffered, unfortunately. I have been taking him out but not walking him. I feel badly. We walked to the end of the lane and back a few times yesterday and once today. (It's still early) We got 12" of snow so our route to walk is blocked. I thought about carrying him through the snow, but I'm afraid I'd fall and possibly hurt him. Once the snow is cleared a little more, I will drive us out to the dam to walk. We have a mini-van and it doesn't go the best in the snow, so for now, it's only neccessary trips.
Congratulations on passing your test!! I knew you could do it. Doesn't it feel great to be able to look back and say, "Wow, I did it!!!"
I'm sorry that the puppies found their furever homes away from you. That has to be tough. I wouldn't be able to raise or foster or anything like that. I'd want to keep every single one!!!

That was that Christmas. Both puppies left home 21. december. My little favourite boy was sold to a couple my own age, living by the sea with lots of space and a cute labrador. The wife loved the little pug immediately and he loved her back. Almost too good to be true.
I cried when I emptied their room missing them so much. Problem is I have been with them 16 weeks. It is not so painfull to say goodbye when they are just 8 weeks.
Now the room shall be work out studio again, sigh!
Have been sick with the flu for almost a week like everybody else I know. Not funny but lost 4 kilos emoticon

Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. I have been addicted to facebook. :( *so ashamed* I have been going to the gym. I lost almost a whole pound this week. I haven't been tracking my food, but I have not been eating that much. I don't think so, anyhow. Coco and I have been taking our morning walks except for yesterday and today. It's raining and I have to drag him outside. When it's raining, he walks under the eaves of the house to stay dry. I know, goofy dog....LOL.
I hope that you do well on your test. I know it's stressful but once it's over, just think of what you can look back and say, "WOW, I did that!!!" Congrats on getting wheels!! That's terrific.
I'm still having family problems, but I will deal in my own way. Thanks for the thoughts.

Morning ladies :)
Well test time is almost upon me, Thank Goddess as I am so tired of studying, worrying and all of that, just want it to be behind me!!

on the plus side this week, MIL is getting a new car, and selling me her old ford escape, so after far too long of being immobile out in the middle of nowhere, I will finally have the means to get my own butt to town, start some job hunting. oh yay for my own transportation.

Down to 2 weeks until pug pick up day, will it never get here??

HVAC, haven't seen you around in a couple of days, I hope everything is OK :))))

MUNDEMUMS - way to go on getting your Yule shopping out of the way, I admit to not having started at all!! :P though this year I am thinking of going the handmade ( knitting ) and baking route. For being December in Michigan it feels like the middle of spring!! Sun is shining bright, not a speck of snow and temp feels around 60- loving it!!!

Taking a quick break from studying and trying to tell myself to get up and go workout while hubz is running errands, but knowing my luck he will get home as soon as I change :P

Oh yay!! I hear the ' I just laid an egg" song coming from one of the girls, hopefully whoever laid it didn't play hide the egg in the yard!!

Have a happy healthy day everyone!!

Just got back from LŘbeck/Germany. Went Christmas shopping with my daughter, we share interests LOL. I think we walked at least 10 km a day. Nice and usefull workout.
When we where away my husband took care of the dogs. They spend most of the weekend in the warm and cosy sofa watching TV. The snow came Saturday and the two puppy boys was out playing in the funny white stuff for the first time in their life.
One of the boys are now sold to a young couple in G÷teborg/Sweden. They will fetch him 21. December emoticon
Then there are my favourite boy left. The house will be quiet with just 5 pugs emoticon
Sorry to hear about your family troubles HVAC.

Well, I got a call yesterday that Kevin wanted to see me. So, I set the alarm and got up early to go in and see him only to find out that visiting hours aren't until 1 pm!!! Boy did I feel stupid. Oh well, I don't live with the people who saw me so I don't care....LOL. I will go back at 1 to see him. My plan was to go see him, go to the gym, come home, get the mail, go to the bank, then go grocery/Christmas shopping. Well, since I was pushed ahead an hour, I just went to the gym and came home.
I decided to try riding the bike today. That is what I used to do when I had lost the 50 lbs my first time losing. Lately I had been using the treadmill. I made it 22 minutes. I was dying. I thought that I might go for 45 mins but I couldn't even get to thirty. I was kinda bummed but I realize that I am not in that good of shape and I may need to work up to 45 mins. I am excited that I did get to 22 though. I will do better next time. I just realized that I was planning on going today, Wednesday and Friday but I have a doctor appt. Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. So, I will go tomorrow and do strength training on Weds. and Thurs. afternoons. I can do that here at home with SP!! emoticon
Good luck on your test. Ya know, there is such a thing as OVER preparation!!! LOL I have a feeling you will do GREAT!!

HVAC, so sorry to hear your having a down week, It is a no win situation all the way around, however I can tell you from past experience, that going to prison, and the halfway house afterwards saved my life, if not I would have ended up overdosing with the road I was on, and while I do not relish the experience in my life I do realize that it was a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Kevin will have a similar epiphany.Just remember that nothing is written in stone, people can and do change.
Wow Coco sounds like a little pug pudgy ball :P

My test is Saturday so sadly I think other than my early AM coffee and internet time I will not be too active this week ( on the board not as far as exercise goes!) I have been in a slump the past two weeks and is time to pull my bootstraps up and get busy!!

On a yay side I heard from my pug mama's human last night and he is doing well, and should be able to come home the week after Yule , yay!!

Don't know how to post pics in a thread so I will do a quick blog post to share his cuteness!!

Have a Happy Healthy Monday everyone!!

I have been offline and depressed since Kevin got arrested. He went to court on Friday, and he will be in jail-with no sentencing-until Jan. 4th. The best case scenario is that he will do 7 months in jail, 7 months in rehab and 7 months in a half-way house. That's if the judge agrees to it. Otherwise, he is looking at 3-10 in a prison away from here. A state facility. The closest one is at least 1 hour away and there's no guarantee that that is where he will go. He will miss out on so much of his son's life, but I have come to terms with the fact that he chose drugs over his son.
Coco and I have been doing very short walks because I don't feel like leaving the house lately. I know he needs the exercise but I can't bring myself to do it. I feel so guilty. I weighed him the other day and he is almost at 25 lbs again. He had lost 2.5 lbs and was looking slimmer.
I did see a pug on facebook that weighed 46.2 lbs though. Boy was he ROUND!!!! LOL I will look up the pic and post it if I find it. He's overseas somewhere-Asia, I think.

HVAC : Glad to hear Coco is fine!

I recently graduated from a Medical Billing and Coding course, and am taking my last certification exam on Dec 8th, it is a 5 hour exam, i hate tests hence all the extra studying :=)

That is so to hear about your wife's nephew, I suffered for years from drug addiction starting at a very early age ( very messed up childhood, abusive stepmom) so I know how it can tear a family apart, he and your family will be in my prayers..

Yesterday was first day of Hubz Winter Layoff, it always messes up my schedule, and for a couple of weeks he is always underfoot!

Have a Happy, Healthy Day everyone!!

MZ-what are you studying for? You seem to do an awful lot of it. I'm glad that you are getting your pug, but I'm sad about the 2 that didn't make it.

I haven't been online lately because we had a major situation here. We had a friend of my wife's nephew's staying with us and his 14 month old son. They have been here since May. Well, Tuesday he got arrested for heroin. We had NO clue. Then his aunt came to help get some of the baby's clothes-he went to stay with g-ma-and we found a spoon and needles (used) just under the bed in a box. Nice, huh? I don't know if I'm more mad or hurt.

Coco is fine. We took him to the vet and they x-rayed his leg and there's nothing there. He must've been being lazy cuz he has been jumping up on the bed just fine. ESPECIALLY when my wife is eating!!! LOL I just have a tendency to panic when I feel like an animal is in pain or suffering or sickly. Just a side-effect of a "cat-lady" mother!! LOL

MZKYND: Sad that two small lives was lost. Hope there still will be a pup for you.
When my litter was born in august, the first little one came at 8 am and the last 14 pm. The last, number 6, a girl was lifeless when born. But it was her lucky day. My daughter, who is a nurse, worked with the "dead" pup just like she would do if it was a human on the hospital. She would not give up, even though me and my husband said there was no hope. And painfully slow the dog started to breathe on her own and then got her first milk. We named her "Leutenberger Lucky Latecomer" in the pedigree emoticon

Morning Everyone :) full steam day ahead here, studying, prepping for tomorrow, workout, chicken coop cleaning *Whoosh* However Lucy the Juicer started her day off working and I feel FABULOUS!! :=)

MUNDEMUMS - Sadly here there are tooo many dogs in shelters, I tried to get hubz to adopt but he was set on a puppy if he was going to let me add yet another dog to our zoo! The general rule here is 8 weeks, but you do find those people that don't realize how critical those last couple of weeks are for a puppy and let them go at 6 weeks. Mama Pug had 5 sadly 2 did not make it. While I love me a good chinese buffet I know what you mean about oily NUT your dish of fish and spinach sounds right up my taste bud alley!!

HVAC: I don't think you have to worry about Coco. My Nicky stopped jumping up in the bed half a year ago. Maybe because he gets older and heavier. Now he stands begging at bed time and off cause gets a little lift. If he jumps down during the night, he wakes me with a little pawpush so he can join us again.
One of my friends have placed a little chair so their dog can get to bed without help.
Yesterday we went to a chinese restaurant after linedance. The buffet was so delicius but also very oily. So today the menu is on fish and spinach with a sauce made of whitewine, Noilly Prat and those small aromatic onions called "Charlottel°g" and a little butter. Sooo good.
MZKYND: How exciting, expecting af pug baby. In Denmark puppies can move from home when they are 8 weeks, how is the rules in your country?
We seldom have pugs in shelters. They are quite expensive dogs, so most people only get one if they have thougt it over for some time. And most breeders are serious and chose new familys with great care.

HVAC : I went thru the same conundrum,, actually spent months looking at pug rescues, but in the end, hubz decided if he was going to give in and let me get ANOTHER dog he would prefer a puppy and the day he finally after months of me badgering said yes, came across the woman whose pug is having pups ANY DAY NOW!! I still hold out hope that in a couple of years he will have pug fever and say we can adopt one ;)

Sorry I have been MIA past few days, that real life :P finally got the house emptied out today and after a day of nonstop cleaning, dusting, laundering and so on everything is back to normal. A mini "Roseanne" on cable veg fest on the couch really helped

HVAC : pasties are yummy little handpies, stuffed with beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, rutabaga's or some combo of, can be served with gravy but are great for hunting camp as well they can just grab a pie and go

Should be back to my regularly scheduled online activity tomorrow, hope everyone had a great weekend.

MUNDEMUMS, to me, in the little part of America that I live, that's a big mall!! The ones we have in this immediate area are only about 50 stores. I live in rural Pennsylvania. A little south of stupid Penn State. I grew up near Pittsburgh, PA and moved to this area because this is where my wife is from.
My wife is talking about getting another pug and I am begging her to let me rescue one, I see so many online and it the newspaper. They aren't as convenient to get as a pug puppy, but it would be taking them from the shelters and foster homes. I'd like a puppy but I feel guilty when there are ones available that need homes.
Coco developed a problem last night. He can't jump up onto the bed. It is kinda high, but he never had a problem until last night. I lifted him up and we felt all over his legs, and on his right hind "knee", there is lumps. I don't know if it's anything to be concerned with, but I am calling the vet Monday morning. For now, I have to put him in bed before I get in, and then after he goes for his midnight snack, and if he gets down any other time of night for a stroll. I don't understand that if he's in pain, why he's still jumping down. Maybe it doesn't hurt to go down though. I will mention it all to the vet.

HVACWOMAN, I am living in little Denmark. We are only 5 millions citizens and are neighbours to Sweden and Germany. For almost 5 years we lived in Sweden but went home three years ago, because we missed old friens and family. Got many dear swedish friend and a lot of new experiences. Denmark and Sweden are culturally much a like and the language are also quite easy to understand (for a Dane)
Sorry to hear that Coco didn't like his new mate. My dogs do a lot of fighting and playing for fun, but sometimes like lightning one of them gets really angry and the whole lot fights with loud growling and noise. Sometimes I let them end the fight by themselves, it's a way they can learn their own powers in the pack and who is the stronger one. But I really hate those conflicts emoticon
Today we went to Malm÷ in Sweden. A new gigantic mall has opened over there. Well for an American I am sure it's small, 250 stores? There is a tunnel and a bridge betwen Danmark an Sweden, so we can drive over in 30 minutes. Got a lot of walking exercise and steps climbing besides my morning walk with the adult dogs. emoticon

MUNDEMUMS, what part of the world are you from? I can eliminate the US....LOL. I take it you have baby pugs? They are sooo cute when they are little!!!! We adopted Coco when he was 6 months old. And we tried to get another one, she was 6 months old also, but she and Coco didn't get along so my friend that introduced me to pugs took her.
MZKYND, what on earth is "Pasties"? I have never heard of it. But, I grew up in a non-deer hunting family but have been semi-part of one for the past 10 years or so. Chili is made the night before and it's ham potpie the day of. I do not eat deer if I know about it. I have eaten it until someone tells me that it's deer and then I freak out.....LOL.
Unfortunately, Coco and I didn't get our long walk in this morning. My wife is sick and she needed her pain pills and I slept in (on accident) and I had to run to the drug store to pick up her pills first thing. So, we only got a quick walk in. I will try and get it in later today.

Today I have not been to work, took a day off. So much to do at home, Christmas is getting closer each day. So after walking the dogs our usual route (in total darkness at 5.30 am), I washed the mountain of clothes in the basement, I still don't get it. Our daughter moved from home 6 years ago, but the mountain didn't got smaller emoticon Then to the garden center to buy a little Christmas tree and other greens for the garden.
Later I took my two boy pugs (12 weeks) for a nice walk. They are to get used to cars, other dogs and just be in a lead without pulling. One day they will move from home, when I find the right owners emoticon On the trip we said hello to the our black friend the crow called Pepe. He always fallows us begging for dog treats. So all in all a quite active day.
Now the house is quiet, all six dogs are sleeping and my husband, who also had a hard day at work has gone to bed early.
Exciting to hear about your daily life in US.

Good Morning HVAC :) glad your walks are getting a little longer :) I worry when i get my new pug puppy that I will be taking long walks with my big dogs, short walks with my pug puppy and then my workouts, will I have any no dog walking time? :P
Today is opening day and the 3rd annual Diesing Deer Camp, I just shoo'ed the hunters out the door and am getting last few minutes of me time before my 2nd job as a short order cook, bartender and master euchre player starts :P
On the menu today : Pasties ( a deer camp must have!!) AND me trying to sneak veggies in on what is traditionally a meat only occasion :P

also, not sure if you noticed but I put up a sticky where we can log our challenge miles SEATTLE here we come!!!

Good afternoon, I am getting ready to take "Chubby Dog" Coco out for a walk. We are starting to walk a little further in the mornings. He seems to like it and isn't complaining, but he never has complained if he was in pain-which I worry about. He has been going the right way in the morning and likes the idea of new places to pee and poop!! I will stop by tomorrow and post longer!! Have a good night!!

Morning everyone emoticon downing my water like mad here before I have to get my day started, hubz got to sleep in this morning, lucky him emoticon almost time for me to poach him up some of Ms. "big butt" Ethel's fresh eggs and shoo him out the door so i can get my workout in!
Stepped on the scale this morning and it was 199, whoohoo i am not claiming wonderland though until I pass 197 for some reason 197 has been my bane of weight loss, so i must push myself past!!
on a much more fun note : I saw an update pic of mama pug this morning and she looked about ready to burst!! I tell you waiting for our pug baby has been a trial on my patience, I have none :P

What are you doing today?

Come on in, sit a spell, let me brew you up a cuppa tea ( Darjeeling has been in my pot all week!) and let's talk : Health, Pugs, UFO's emoticon Current Book Reading, anything and everything is on the table. And since this is my virtual reality kitchen table let me tell ya, it sure isn't the rickity falling apart cheapo that sits in my real life kitchen. OH NO this baby is a beaut a big old fashioned farmhouse table.
I hope everyone is having a Healthy day today!! I am working on it, hard to eat healthy when a grocery trip is overdue, luckily Ms. Ethel is still laying and I got poached a couple of her eggs up to tide me over until hubz gets home.
So what's going on with you?
