12 hours of sleep. Wow! I am lucky to get 6 hours. I slept that much and more when I took an anti depressant, coming down with cold, or glucose is off. What do you eat in morning? Dietitian said to eat protein for breakfast due to hormones present upon waking. What about vitamin levels? Thyroid and anti depressant can deplete some vitamins. Suzy Cohen's Drug Muggers book contains list of medications that deplete vitamins. You must look young with all the sleep you are getting.

hi Fierce!
I'm jealous of all that sleep you're getting! Might just be what your body needs to recover.
IMO the purging has something to do with what you're feeling now. I don't have to tell ya how that messes a body up.... you know... and then the new antidepressant kicks in... which means more change for that poor body of yours...
Take care of you, sleeping beauty! : ) Mzzchief

Changing doctors may help. There are several things that may help but the thyroid is a pesky gland that is hard to deal with. I go up and down on how I feel and what I am able to do. Don't give up. Hopefully Mzz or Purrballs will chime in soon and give you some other ideas. I am too fuzzy to think tonight. It is after 11:00 p.m.
i also love einsteen and the way he got his ideas I love to travel on the spur of the moment and i love portland oregon, hawaii. I enjoy all forms of art and the galleries

Sounds like good plan. Finding doctor that is knowledgeable and willing is hard to find, but not impossible. Several books recommend Reverse T testing for thyroid problem to determine how much medication gets into cells where it can be utilized, but I have not found doctor that does or knows how to interrupt this test. Good luck~

Get the book HYPOTHYROIDISM TYPE 2 by Mark Starr MD, read it and then take along the list of symptoms in the book, highlight yours, and go talk to (argue with?) your doc. I got my doc so upset w/me but he ended up giving me an Rx for desiccated thyroid which you can get at a compounding pharmacy. Docs just don't know, and they do what they were taught --- incorrectly -- in med school. I ordered a copy of the book to take along as a gift to my doc the next time I go. I wish they'd stop depending so much on the "numbers" which may not mean much, and really listen to their patients instead. Next step for me is to try to find an endocrinologist who will prescribe desiccated thyroid, and if I can't find one by myself, I'll ask the compounding pharmacist who does prescribe it. There's more than one way to skin a cat, as they say.

OH, I wish I knew! Your TSH is just the same as mine. Doctors think it is too low. I wish one of them would say it is just right. I think it is fine. I am wondering if you have an adrenal problem that they aren't looking at. I know adrenal failure or burnout is part and parcel with fighting for the right thyroid level. My doctor once said that if the snow was hip high and the only way out was to walk I wouldn't even bother. I still feel the same way even though he has gotten my thyroid level down to this point. What IS wrong with us? Anyone know? I sure hate for Kerri to feel this bad! I know what she means. I am doing better than I was so I do have the energy to worry about her! Please help her! One of you must have some good ideas she can use...

why the heck do I feel so tired????? TSH is 0.86 and free T3 is 2.4, free t4 is high but I don't remember the exact number. I've been sleeping around 12 hours several days this week which is really bizarre for me. heck I've even been going back to bed on some days within an hour and a half of getting up and sleeping for 3 more hours. I don't get it. any advice or tips? I have had a new anti depressant added to my regime but this problem was starting before the new med. I am on synthroid and take it with plenty of water, at least 2 hrs before eating and avoid dairy until noon (take it between 6-7 am).
