The weekend is almost here...and a holiday weekend too. Do any of you have plans in place to make sure you'll keep down the extra calories? Be sure to plan for it now. Hadn't heard from a lot of you in a very long time. Time to wake up. Where is everyone??????

This weekend was one of those struggling ones for me. I didn't have a problem with eating. I did alright with that and din't have too many calories nor did I eat the wrong things. I was just lazy and didn't get any exercise, other than walking to and from the car. LOL

I hope to do better this week.

Okay fellas, don't let this be one of those struggling weekends.

It's a holiday weekend, and many of us will probably go to a cookout and have lots of things tempting us. It's okay to indulge a little bit, but think about what you're eating ahead of time. Remember: PORTION CONTROL! Don't over do it and then when Monday rolls around, you're feeling mad at yourself. Have fun, enjoy yourself, but use restraint.

If you have the opportunity to do some physical outdoor things, like volleyball or softball or basketball or other nice athletic things, that will be great exercise for you.

Man, I have kind of fell off lately, I hurt my knee so I stopped RUNNING for a little bit... I did buy the Nike+ kit for my Ipod so that is nice and has helped me get back on track. I hope everyone is still going strong.

Well, speaking of weekends, how well do you fellas do when it's a holiday weekend? Does it make a difference? What about weekends in the winter versus weekends during warmer weather? Spring is almost here. If you know you are more tempted in the spring and summer months, get your willpower ready NOW.

Good to see that it may have worked! Good job, we will get through this battle this year, man.
I have struggled with this weight thing for the past few years and I have only recently learned what works for me. I used to have the problem of cheating on the weekends because I felt it was time to relax, but when I worked out in the morning I felt like I didn't want to ruin the work I put in by eating bad and I felt less hungry. Trust me, I dont want to get up at 7 on the weekend when my family is still sleeping, but only I can do this and I have to push myself.

I did really well this past weekend. What DEJANAIRO said was my strategy for getting my workout in. I went to the gym early in the morning, just shortly after they opened, and that was the key. There were fewer people there using the machines, I didn't feel as crowded, and I felt more productive. I managed not to sneak in and cheat, eating the wrong things. Maybe it's like DEJANAIRO said. The early work out makes the body less hungry.

I personally try to work out first thing in the morning on Saturday and Sunday... it just keeps me less hungry. I used to realx and sleep in but that was part of my eating problem, the whole relaxed environment to include diet. Good thing your are getting out, it helps alot.

My biggest problem during weekend is that I tend to be less focused and dont always eat as healthy. That's why all the experts say don't bring things into the house that you know you shouldn't be eating. When I'm at home, I find it hard to resist temptation. So, when weekends come, I try to find reasons to get out and go places. The more I am away from home, the more healthy my lifestyle is.

I got over a huge hurddle last weekend. I had drill with my Army unit and this was in the field (FTX; field training exercise). During the FTX we eat a lot, because we need more energy to stay active, and when the training is done we spend the whole night eating, partying and drinking. Well, I managed to keep it all under control and this was the first time in months that I did not gain weight after the drill weekend. As a matter of fact, I actually lost weight. So I know that I can do this. I was even still able to do all of the partying (just without all of the eating and drinking) and I still had a lot of fun.

I know what all of you mean. Plus even if you want to do something outside it is still too cold to do anything (I live in Wisconsin). When I get my wife involved being active on the weekend get a bit easier. It is a bit like a check and balance system, so that way we get some kind of physical activity done on the weekends.

Yea, weekends suck like crazy just because I am overworked (my job at this point is fairly dead end ha ha), also I sometimes say I am going to do it and yes I am making this an excuse but my actions do not allign with the words that come out of my mouth.

I am currently sitting here trying to figure out what motivates me to keep at it.

I know what you mean....its easy to just do whatever you want because this is your time to relax. Relaxing usually includes eating for me. Weekends are/were my time to just do nothing. During the week, I schedule all my meals in depending on the time I have, so on a weekend and I have too much time in my schedule..usually i use to eat. But i've gotten much better now!!

Does anybody else feel that this is the time where you most likely fall off your routine? For me the wife is at home and I don't have to work which is cool but bad at the same time with the diet.
