So hard to believe that July is half over already. How is everyone doing? I've been in the lower 180's for too long. I spent about 2 days in the 170's and back into the 180's. So I'll be working on that the rest of this month. What are you working on?

So excited to see some new folks here. It has been way to quiet. It is summer and everyone is busy.

Good Morning. Can you believe it? June is half over. 2014 is almost half way through the year. Are you working on your 2014 goals. I'm not where I want to be, but I've lost around 15 pounds since the first of the year. I'll keep plugging along.

Good Morning: What a beautiful 3 day Memorial Weekend. I was busy with the little ones while my daughter & son-in-law tended to their garage sale. I can't keep up with them. Well I am officially back to 180. UGGH. I need to work a little harder before I climb those wicked scales again!!

I have to get some motivation back. I don't know what happened except I've been outside all the time (other than at work) and I'm not as careful with eating correctly. Lots of quick stuff or picnic food.

Hang in there Sandi!! I'm not losing either. Is it June when you leave for your trip east?

I've been so busy and not spending any time on meal prep or exercise (except playing with a 3 & 5 year old that have endless energy)!

Helping my daughter set up for a garage sale. I pulled out a lot of diet books, diet cookbooks, low cal, low carb, low fat..............I must have spent a small fortune buying them and don't use them. Maybe my Daughter can sell them for a buck a piece!

I like those girlie movies, especially during a cold winter day. Yes, I need recharge days every now and then. However, my house cleaning is saying "ARE YOU CRAZY" get off your butt and clean me!! I've been a little lax lately.

So on to having a better week. I'm at a stand still or a plateau. I think of a plateau as ..You are still trying hard to lose, but the scales aren't moving. On the other hand a "stand still" would be that the motivation isn't there, you aren't really trying, and are staying around the same weight. I'm at a stand still. Not a good weight to be standing still.....I'm so close to going back into the 180's.

OK everyone..............Keep Smiling and lets get our move on!!

Whoa! Dee the storm sounds terrible. Your rhubarb sounds good. Reminds me of the farm when I was a kid- mom making rhubarb pie and grandma making rhubarb sauce.

Hubs goes in for a colonoscopy Tues so he is doing all clear liquids tomorrow. I decided to do a cleanse with him but not the medicine type!! Ugh!! Just greens and such. In preparation I've been eating vegan or vegetarian for a few days and already feel better. Have a good week all.

Happy Saturday. I had the two little ones most of the day. They tire me out!!

I picked rhubarb. Made muffins, froze two quarts, & have some left to make something tomorrow. I have to stay away from the baked stuff. I like rhubarb and hate to waste it, but I have to be strong & stay away from the stuff after I make it!

Terrible storms came through yesterday. A few large trees came down and took out power & phone poles & wires with them. I had power but my daughter lost her electricity for about 12 hours and her phone for about 24 hours.

Hey Gang! I hope this is finding you all healthy & doing great!

A beautiful day here. To bad I had to work all day. I was going to mow grass when I got home but weeded out my rhubarb patch instead. I even got a blister on the palm of my hand!! One of my favorite things to do is to mow my lawn. I get on the cub cadet rider with my head phones on feeling the sun and smelling the fresh mowed grass. If I mow by myself it takes about 2 hours to do the entire lawn. Yes, I have a lot to mow. But it looks great when it is done. Tomorrow & Saturday the forecast is rain. Hopefully Sunday.

Sandi- Thank you for all the cheers! When you get done with your house, come here!! I need a complete over haul!!

I always have trouble with the staying under the Zero number. For example; When I got under 200. I bounced around 198, 199, 200, 201 for a few weeks. Sames as 190, and actually last month I got as low as 178.8 but couldn't stay down there (the 180's held on). So I am going to be diligent and very carefully until I can get away from the 180 number. Do any of you have the same problem?

Cold & windy here. I did well as far as calories, yet no exercise. I basically had a couch potato day!!

This is going to be a good week - FOR ALL OF US!!

Spent a little time doing outside stuff. It has been so cold here that I can't dig to much in the flowers because so much has not even peeked out yet. But all that came to an end when the rain came.

I'm finally under 180. emoticon I'll be happy to turn the team over to another leader if anyone wants the position. If not I'll hang on while all of you are here. I will try very hard to encourage you to get into the 170's too.

Hi Dee and Team! Our week-end is going to be more of what the week has been- errands, furniture, washing more bedding and visiting a friend on Sunday. Nothing too exciting! If I can talk myself into it I'm going to Zumba in the morning- I know I should. I've been so busy with household activities I've been remiss on the real exercise and I know that's bad. I'm falling into that old trap of not taking care of myself first and taking care of everything else first instead.

Tania: I am going to check out Whole 30. I'm guessing I can find anything on the internet!!

Coming home from work tonight I was totally not paying attention until the State Police Car decided to turn around. Yep! I got pulled over. I apologized. He asked where I was going, where I worked, took my license. A few minutes later he came back gave me my license and said I was going 72. But no ticket. I thanked him and told him I would use my cruise control! Lucky Me!!

Dee- It is rough at first but that's normal. Check out Whole 30 when you get a chance. That's what my doctor has me on. I went paleo the last week or so.I needed a bit of a change but within a week or two I'll go back to Whole30.

Sandy- That is so great!! I am sure you will love N.C! I had trouble getting rid of the carbs the first week but it got a bit easier as the weeks rolled by.

Hey there! It's been a while but I'm keeping up with the exercise and mile a day challenge!! I downloaded the new SP app but didn't get my 250 points😔. I really live the app. I have found myself not tracking my food in a week or so so I need to get back to that. My kids have started baseball and softball. I love this time of year!!welcome to our new peeps!! I went back to reading posts I missed and Dee I hope you stay on as team leader!! Do we know if there is a 170ville group? We posted a while back about the storms and I hope you all have been missed by these tornados! We had another come through Sunday near Joplin (Quapaw ok and Baxter springs ks) that you could see from the heart if the Joplin tornado site! Yes, the three states are that close. Praise God there way only one loss this time an it was very small. Still lots if damage though.

I'm going to try and avoid all that stuff. Don't know if I can do it 100%. I do know what some of the foods are that bother me....Grapefruit, Applesauce, hot dogs.......to name a few. Thank you for the info.

It did seem really good to make it through the day with out one!!

Dee - BLC stands for Biggest Loser Challenge and we're going into round 25. I haven't done all 25 rounds though...lol.

I know about the headaches. I was getting them every day. I've had migraines since college. My doctor put me on this strict diet- no carbs, no rice, no bread, no dairy, no sugars, even fruit sugars- very little and focus on berries when I need the sugar fix. It was rough! First week I felt horrible, miserable and hung over. BUT once that passed, my headaches have slowly gone away. I get one once in a blue moon but I was getting them every day. She put me on this diet for other ailments but it's been helpful in other aspects.

Sandi- You are really prepping ahead of time! Do you know where you're moving to?

Choco: What does BLC stand for?

This is the first day that I have not had a headache when I woke up in about 2 weeks. Maybe the cycle has ended until the next time!! I've had migraines since I was about 10. That is a whole bunch of years in there!!

Got LOTS done yesterday re-arranging furniture. We're putting our house up for sale in 11 months and I am one to be prepared- am starting the staging process *now.* Got the living room and dining nook completely done. The rest in process. We're giving away or consigning some pieces of furniture for a more streamlined look. I like the 2 areas that are done SO much better- don't know why I didn't think of this sooner just for "us." DH is more of a yard guy so he doesn't care what kind of wild hair I get about the inside- but he helps! emoticon

Hi everyone!

I'm on 3 active teams. The main team I'm a member of is BLC25 which kicks off on Wednesday. It lasts 12 weeks and weigh in day is Wednesdays.

I am guilty of jumping on the scale every day but it no longer defines if my day will be good or bad. It's just a number and it will fluctuate depending on a number of things- water intake, time of month, many factors come into play. So I just roll with it.

Let's make today the best day we can! emoticon

Hi Teri: I've learned my lesson on joining different challenges or weigh in dates. It is just to difficult to keep up with everything. So I now limit where I post. I try to make it in this tread everyday, a daily chat about whatever. It keeps me connected you you folks. I was kind of stumped as to what to have as a challenge, for the folks that like challenges.

Welcome Choco! So glad you are here. Hi Sandi! Helllo anyone else stopping in!

I went to a surprise 80th birthday for my former Mother-In-Law last night. It was a lot of fun. I danced a little with the 2 granddaughters. Did not overeat or drink anything but water!!

I had a gain this week. I think this weather is the cause for waking with a headache every single day!! So I've been lazy and not eating properly. So today I'm back to limiting carbs and not snacking!!

This morning I went to my granddaughters soccer game. We froze!! The kids (ages 4 & 5) were playing in mittens, hats, winter jackets. There were too many kids, not enough teams, and not organized at all. So the poor kids got little playing time and spent most of the time on the sideline. You would think by the end of April we should have some warm weather!!

Dee I'm so sorry about your migraines and sleep issues! I really understand about the sleep- oh what I wouldn't do for a good nights sleep! And then we read all this stuff about how it messes up our hunger hormones and then the stress messes up some more stuff...grrr....!! Those barometric pressure changes must surely be wreaking havoc on your migraines. HUGS.

Today is hubbys Birthday so we are driving to the little town of Jerome. It's only about 30 miles from here but it takes over an hour because it's up the mountains and then on top of a mountain. Winds up and up and up- an old mining town. There is a hotel on top of the mountain that used to be a hospital back in the day. The restaurant there is named "the Asylum" and the food is excellent- fresh and home made. So we're having lunch at the Asylum and then doing the walking tour. We've been there many times but never tire of it. There's some really neat shops with all kinds of interesting stuff.

Where is everyone? emoticon Are you guys tired of my rantings yet?

Sandi: I agree with you as far as weighing in every day. At least for me, I start obsessing and my mood for the day is affected by the number on the scale. Not a good thing, if it is going up or staying the same!!

I've had a rash of migraines for the last few weeks. I think a few things may be contributing. Except for the fact that I've had them since I was about 12 and so have several relatives on my Mom's side. First, Easter, my son home, friends home from wintering in Florida, and to many opportunities to eat has thrown off my "new" better habits of eating that I've been working on. Second, the weather has been good, then bad and then crazy. One nice day, one rainy day, throw a little snow in there and then the barometric pressure changing at the drop of a cloud. and the Third, I'm not sleeping AGAIN!

Anyways,,,,,I'd better leave for work! Have a good day, CHICKIES.

Oh a challenge would be fun! I hope others come in with some ideas. I'll be noodling on that.

Dee the scales are not my enemy- but I go up and down over the least little thing. I'm sure a longer time frame will give me a more accurate overall read, and in the meantime I won't be sabotaging myself over a number. I'll see at the end of my experiment- maybe I'll go back to a weekly weigh-in or maybe monthly- but not daily as I've been doing! emoticon

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

The sun is out and hopefully going to get up to the mid 60's today. I'm looking forward to spending some time with the little ones.

An easy go to snack or lunch for me is fat free cottage cheese with a little sugar free jello sprinkled in. Any flavor you choose. I have also sprinkled it in fat free plain yogurt. It is like a little cheater dessert for lunch.

I don't buy books any more either. I read a lot and will either get books from the library or the free books for kindle. My mom is always passing books along that she gets at garage sales or ones that are given to her.

I hope everyone else will share where they get recipe ideas too!

I've been finding my best ones from the Paleo cook books I've been finding at Costco. I don't do Paleo per se but since it's meat, fruit, vegetables, a few other things- unless one is vegetarian or vegan, they are just plain great recipes! They're on that big long book table at Costco.

I also look at Goodwill but most of those are the fabulously fattening cook books that we all donated LOL so I don't bring them home again. It's fun to look at all of the mayo recipes from the late '80's though!

I also go to the local library website and order up some of the charismatic Dr./ nutritionist diet/cook books because I'm too cheap to order them from Amazon anymore. There's usually a smoothie or two or a few other things I'll jot down before returning the book.

OOPS sorry edited to add just saw you inquired about actual recipes- will get back to you on that next week! There are SO many great ones in the Paleo cook books but I do have a few favorites and one is a crock pot dish. They use more herbs and spices for flavor- quite tasty.

OH the Lemon Juice version sounds good. I'm going to try that. Yummy!! I like lemon meringue pie. Did I spell that right??

I picked up a cookbook at a book give away. The Flat Belly Diet Cookbook. I haven't spent a lot of time in the book but my first thought on so many of the recipes "I won't make that" "I won't buy those ingredients to make this" "too many ingredients or steps". The book looks brand new so who ever bought it must have thought the same thing. I'll look at it some more, but I'm guessing it will go back to the book give away for the next person.

Hey Everyone - STAY AWAY FROM THE EASTER CANDY WEEKEND is officially under way!

Chocolate Cream Pie sounds wonderful. Stick with the pork roast and don't make the pie! I have bought either the fat free or the sugar free chocolate pudding cups in the past. They seem to help me get over a chocolate urge. I've always been a pudding fan! Th latest thing that I've done is 1/4 cup Fat Free Ricotta, a small amount of cocoa power and a small amount of fake sugar. Not many calories, some protein with a little sweetness & chocolate. It works for me.

I am going to put together something for either lunch or dinner to take to my daughters for Easter. The granddaughters are getting a small "bounce house" from the "Easter Bunny". The forecast is to be around 60 degrees so they will want to be playing outside. So I'll go up there for a while. I have plastic eggs filled with money, chocolate kisses or other small treats, that we may use to have a little egg hunt.

LOL!! Great advice to stay away from the Easter candy! Unfortunately, or in this case fortunately? we have no grandchildren even remotely nearby, so we aren't even going there regarding the candy. One thing I AM very tempted with is my home made chocolate cream pie that I usually make for holidays. I asked my husband if he minded if we skip that this year and he has no problem-o with that. Lucky for me he doesn't have a sweet tooth. He likes his meats and cheeses!! I'm doing a big pork roast for him- that doesn't even tempt me.

But last night I DREAMED about home made chocolate cream pie! HA! I will have to re-route those brain pathways!

DEE emoticon and yes I'm feeling perky again already! I have spunk! (I remember on the Mary Tyler Moore show- way back when before your time probably- she told her boss she had spunk and he said "I hate spunk"! LOL! Got some sleep and eating well and exercise really DOES help turn things around and avoid a completely downward spiral. I'm so proud of you for getting out of the 190's and going down down down. Woo Hoo! The weekend is almost here.

I have trouble sticking to an eating plan on the weekends. Does anyone else have the same issue? How do you deal with it? During the week, I am at work and the week is always more structured. Weekends, I'm home with 24 hour access to food. Maybe we'll go out to eat, maybe a trip to my Mom's. She thinks she has to feed us as soon as we walk in the door.

I hope everyone is seeing the scales dropping toward the 170's. I just know you are doing great!!

I am so glad that these terrible tornadoes have not been close to you. I can only imagine how frightening they are.

I hope everyone is having a great weight loss week!!

Is anyone interesting in being a Co-Team Leader? I'm at 180 and wondering if I should stay as the Team Leader or if anyone else has interest to carry on?
