The 3 day diet resulted in a ONE pound loss, not 10. I thought the 10, as they say, was not realistic.

What did I do in this little experiment? Well I weighed and measured everything I ate, which I don't do very often. I ate more vegetables and fruit. I drank more water. I followed it to the letter.

What did I learn? Maybe some can lose 10 pounds in 3 days, but I certainly am not one of them, I need to continue drinking more water, I need to be more active in weighing and measuring my food. Not so much the vegetables, but definately meat, cheese, etc., and plan meals in advance. Now if I can only follow through with what I learned.....

Hello Hello Hello Teammates. I've been posting in the Challenge section - Lose One Pound A Week. But I wanted to just check in with the team members that are not involved with this.

I am finally seeing the scales moving in the downward motion again. Thank you Sandy, Sharon and Paulette!!

I am trying a little experiment. I read someplace on Sparkpeople about people doing the "3 Day Diet". Being curious, I looked it up on-line. Well It did say it was a fad diet, but I thought "what the heck, I can try to actually stick to something for THREE days". The predicted results, according to the article is 10 pounds in three days. Well I just kind of laughed at that right away.. Apparently it is the chemistry of the food that is the trick. I'll let you know!!

August flew by so quickly. It seems the older I get the faster time goes!

I spend the morning with my son, daughter, their spouses and the two granddaughters this morning. The rest of the day was a rest day. Not much going on so I laid low.

Tomorrow a new start. The first day of a new month. I always feel like a fresh start is underway on the first of the week, month or year. Especially when I have not been doing great. Which is now. So I'm back to focusing on ME!

Hope everyone had a great Saturday! It was crazy busy here today. My daughter & son-in-law had a garage sale at my house. I had the pleasure of watching and playing with the two granddaughters. My parents stopped in, I sure was busy. But WAY to much sugar!! Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, we made zucchini cookies, which we had to taste test and I think some other "not so healthy" stuff made my calorie count go up. So tomorrow I am going to have a "GET ON TRACK" day!!

Fit4Me41: Hang in there! I am the opposite. I can be very good (eating wise) while I am at work. It is when I am home weekends that I have trouble. I've been in the 180 for too long. I made a short visit to the 170's but back up again. Such A Struggle for Me!! I have to admit that I have not been structured lately. So I too have to "get back on plan". We CAN do this!!

I went back to work. I'm struggling to keep myself on track. Usually, it's the opposite...I gorge all summer and when it's time to go back to work, I get back on plan. This year, it's the opposite....Still in 180 ville and looking forward to getting to 170 ville!

A big hello from Newfoundland, Canada!
I started my 12 week challenge today. It'll bring me up just days before Halloween! Super excited :)
Today I did day 1 of Jillian Michaels shred it with weights, we took a 60 minute family walk on the trails and by the ocean, absolutely beautiful evening! And I'm about to head downstairs and do Week 1 Day 1 of SP's walk/jog program.

I hope everyone is having a happy & healthy Wednesday :)

I've been away from SP for a while and I've crept up. Taking control again starting in mid-June and it is going well, so thought I would get back into SP to help me get back to where I want to be. In the past I liked entering and exiting the towns, seemed to keep me motivated. So I am entering 180ville on the second floor and have been here about 3-4 weeks. Good Morning: What a beautiful 3 day Memorial Weekend. I was busy with the little ones while my daughter & son-in-law tended to their garage sale. I can't keep up with them. Well I am officially back to 180. UGGH. I need to work a little harder before I climb those wicked scales again!!

I have to get some motivation back. I don't know what happened except I've been outside all the time (other than at work) and I'm not as careful with eating correctly. Lots of quick stuff or picnic food.

Hey all - I hope everyone is doing great. I've been super busy and haven't been on-line much. It seems like I am mowing lawn about every other day. But I love being on the tractor and being outside.

I just saw a car pulling in the driveway.......so I'll check in tomorrow!!

Hang in there Sandi!! I'm not losing either. Is it June when you leave for your trip east?

I've been so busy and not spending any time on meal prep or exercise (except playing with a 3 & 5 year old that have endless energy)!

Helping my daughter set up for a garage sale. I pulled out a lot of diet books, diet cookbooks, low cal, low carb, low fat..............I must have spent a small fortune buying them and don't use them. Maybe my Daughter can sell them for a buck a piece!

I like those girlie movies, especially during a cold winter day. Yes, I need recharge days every now and then. However, my house cleaning is saying "ARE YOU CRAZY" get off your butt and clean me!! I've been a little lax lately.

So on to having a better week. I'm at a stand still or a plateau. I think of a plateau as ..You are still trying hard to lose, but the scales aren't moving. On the other hand a "stand still" would be that the motivation isn't there, you aren't really trying, and are staying around the same weight. I'm at a stand still. Not a good weight to be standing still.....I'm so close to going back into the 180's.

OK everyone..............Keep Smiling and lets get our move on!!

Dee- When you're working, those lazy days are good for you- I used to call them re-charging my batteries! Would sometimes need a "Lifetime for Women" movie channel day. Frost again outside?! Oh no!! emoticon

Happy Sunday All! I had a lazy day. I did finally walk around outside and covered my flowers. Frost is in the forecast. They just started looking pretty good.

Whoa! Dee the storm sounds terrible. Your rhubarb sounds good. Reminds me of the farm when I was a kid- mom making rhubarb pie and grandma making rhubarb sauce.

Hubs goes in for a colonoscopy Tues so he is doing all clear liquids tomorrow. I decided to do a cleanse with him but not the medicine type!! Ugh!! Just greens and such. In preparation I've been eating vegan or vegetarian for a few days and already feel better. Have a good week all.

Happy Saturday. I had the two little ones most of the day. They tire me out!!

I picked rhubarb. Made muffins, froze two quarts, & have some left to make something tomorrow. I have to stay away from the baked stuff. I like rhubarb and hate to waste it, but I have to be strong & stay away from the stuff after I make it!

Terrible storms came through yesterday. A few large trees came down and took out power & phone poles & wires with them. I had power but my daughter lost her electricity for about 12 hours and her phone for about 24 hours.

Hello Everyone! Hope you are all doing great.

I'm kind of at a stand still. My own fault, I haven't been trying very hard and I haven't been dedicating time for walking. I've been trying to get the outside looking nice so I've been working on weeding the flower beds and keeping the lawn mowed.

Hi ladies!! Still in 170ville but not fully convinced until I hit the mid floor.

Had family visiting last week and was pretty much away from spark. Back again and focused on maintaining clean eating and adding up fitness minutes:) Rooting for you all!!

I've been MIA. We finally have some nice weather and I've been outside enjoying!! I mowed lawn for 2 hours today and loved every minute of it.

Hey Gang! I hope this is finding you all healthy & doing great!

A beautiful day here. To bad I had to work all day. I was going to mow grass when I got home but weeded out my rhubarb patch instead. I even got a blister on the palm of my hand!! One of my favorite things to do is to mow my lawn. I get on the cub cadet rider with my head phones on feeling the sun and smelling the fresh mowed grass. If I mow by myself it takes about 2 hours to do the entire lawn. Yes, I have a lot to mow. But it looks great when it is done. Tomorrow & Saturday the forecast is rain. Hopefully Sunday.

Tania: I'm with you. I have to be out of the high 170's before I believe that I am in the 170's.

Sandi: Come visit when you can. We know you are busy, busy, busy!! Glad you are losing.

How is everyone else? All is ok here. Been the same weight for a few days now. Better than going up..........but I'd still like to see a little movement........... I know, I know...Sandi, you are telling me to get rid of those scales. But I'm afraid if I do, I will be going up up up!!

Hi Dee and Team- Hope everyone is well this week and keeping on. I haven't had a chance to do much sparking but I do log in and spin. I feel bad about neglecting my spark friends due to household duties. Another week and things should settle down. Lots accomplished and weight is going down so all in all a good May so far. We still have most of the month ahead of us to get even closer to our goals- we will do it. How is everyone doing?
